Y&R Week of September 29, 2008

Monday

In New York, Ashley sipped a mimosa, while Jack chatted about where the drink was originated. Ash suspected that her brother was up to something.
She was surprised when Traci joined them. Jack was pleased to be in the company of his sisters. They discussed Colleen for a moment, but Ashley insisted on knowing the real reason he was meeting with them. Jack explained that he needed their Jabot proxies so he could get controlling interest of the company. He noted that John would want it to be a family business. Ashley reminded Jack that he's not allowed to run Jabot; he explained that he wouldn't and would merely be holding the proxies. The ladies refused to discuss it anymore unless he revealed who he silent partner was. Later, Billy arrived.

Jill was thrilled to return to Jabot, but Cane bristled when she wanted to make a few suggestions. He reminded her that he was now the one running Jabot. Cane implored her to let him do his job and not hover. Later, Jill argued with Kay, who believed Cane was doing a fine job. "You've been a pain in my ass for years, Jill, complaining that I'm always controlling you," laughed Kay. "Now you're getting what's coming to you. Payback's a bitch, isn't it?" Ouch! Later, Jill apologized to Cane for overstepping her bounds.... Jeff and Glo were surprised when Kay ran into them again — and called him William and asked about the Carmen Mesta investigation. They realized that they could use Kay's "senior moments" to their advantage.

Nick, Nikki and Victoria were worried after Victor disappeared from the hospital. They went through his stuff at the Newman ranch as they tried to figure out where he went. Nick was disappointed when he realized that his father never opened his thank-you letter. Nikki reminded him that their main concern was finding Victor. Nick recalled Michael being in Victor's hospital room with him before Newman disappeared and was suspicious of Baldwin's involvement.

At Crimson Lights, Gloria told Jeffrey that Katherine promised her five percent of her Jabot stock. Next, Glo informed Jeff that Michael arranged for River to not be sent to Michigan. After, Kay arrived at the coffeehouse and informed Jeff that she hadn't actually offered Gloria her stock. Jeff was annoyed with his wife for lying to him. Glo explained that she'd lied to Jack to keep him on board with their plan to get Jabot. "I only lied to you because I love you," she said.

At Michael and Lauren's, a sullen Eden refused to go to school. Lauren pointed out that Michael was helping River, so Eden needed to keep her end of the bargain and attend classes. Lauren realized that Eden had never gone to school before. Eden confessed that she was indeed home schooled and has hardly spent any time around kids her own age. Lauren offered to give her a "crash course" in teen politics — and suggested that she offer her classmates a discount in Lauren's boutique. Eden wondered what to do if the kids learn about her dad; Lauren advised her to play the "rebel" card and make her life sound exciting. Eden was still dubious. Meanwhile, River told Michael that he didn't want his trial to be in Genoa City because he feared it would turn into a circus. River also refused to plead guilty, again asserting his innocence. He agreed to let Michael take his case provided that Michael believed River was innocent. Michael noted that he needed a better defense than simply saying, "I didn't do it." Michael argued with his dad for a while longer, than gave up and left. Lauren believed that River was testing him....Eden cut school after overhearing teachers gossiping about her father.... River finally agreed to let Michael be his attorney.

Nick called Michael and informed him of Victor's disappearance. Michael replied that Victor hasn't disappeared, but doesn't want to be found. Nick suggested they have J.T. help them track down their dad, but Nikki didn't think that was a good idea. Nick and Victoria argued that Victor needed them. "He needs time alone to heal," Nikki explained, urging them to give him the space he kept asking for. Vicky felt badly for her father when she found the copy of Sabrina's ultrasound. Nikki admitted that she was scared for Victor.... On a private jet, Victor got a notice from the pilot that they were about to land.

Tuesday

At Crimson Lights, Cane encouraged Chloe to visit Esther and show her the ultrasound photo of the baby, but Chloe refused. Cane told her to "suck it up" and be nice to Esther because the baby deserved to know its grandmother.
At the Chancellor estate, Katherine came home and told Esther that she feared something was wrong with her. Kay then confessed that she has been forgetting things. Esther urged her to see her doctor. Esther then revealed that Cane had sent her the ultrasound photo; Kay replied that Chloe/Kate should've sent the photo herself. Esther was willing to give her daughter some space. Kay felt guilty for sending Chloe/Kate to boarding school, but Esther believed that Kay gave her a great education. Just then, Chloe arrived and said that she was never going to get over being shipped off to school. Esther kindly offered her daughter something to eat, but Chloe snapped at her and told Esther to knock off the "servant thing." Esther shared that Cane sent her the ultrasound photo and that she intended to frame it. Chloe noted that they had no other framed pictures of them together because she was always away at school. Esther insisted that she loved her daughter and was only trying to do the best for her.

At Jabot, Cane and Lily had an awkward run-in. Lily revealed that she came to resign as the "Face of Jabot" because it was too difficult working in the same office as Cane. Cane pleaded with her not to quit, but Lily stated that it was no longer fun being around him. "I need to see you," he begged. She then spotted the ultrasound pic on his computer. Cane offered to change his screensaver, but Lily wanted him to bond with his baby. Jill then arrived and Lily shared that she's leaving Jabot. She thanked a shocked Jill for the opportunity. "I lost her," Cane said sadly as Lily left the office.

At the Abbott manse, Gloria told Kevin that she had a "brilliant idea" for getting Jabot. Kevin was dubious. Glo then filled him in on how out of it Kay had seemed earlier when she'd called Jeffrey "William." Gloria wanted Kevin to find "evidence" that Katherine was losing her mind. Kevin wasn't sure he wanted to get involved, but Gloria explained that she needed his help in order to get Kay's Jabot shares and keep Jeff from divorcing her.

In New York, Jack, Ashley, Traci and Billy happily dined together and discussed old times. Jack again asked his siblings for their Jabot proxies so the Abbotts could get back the company. Ash refused to do so without getting the name of Jack's silent partner. Jack insisted on fixing his mistakes and getting Jabot back into the family. Ashley wouldn't do anything underhanded, but Billy and Traci decided to give him their votes. Ashley agreed to consider it provided Jack gives her his silent partner's name. He assured her that he'd reveal everything when the time was right. After, Billy joined Jack for a drink and revealed that he was heading back to Genoa City. Jack asked him to move back permanently and run the Hong Kong office via satellite — and be Jack's "inside man" at Jabot.

Kevin went to Jabot and said hello to Kay, per Gloria's instructions that he see if he can find evidence of Kay losing her grip. Kay was a little surprised by the sudden small talk. "Are you hitting on me?" she asked him before walking off. After, Kevin reported to Gloria, who implored him to keep chatting up Katherine. Later, Kevin began to ask Kay a bunch of random questions: If she knew what the date was (she did). He brought up the Presidential election and she was able to name the candidates. "Are you feeling all right?" Kay asked, wondering if Kevin was suffering from eating too much of Jana's health food. Later, Kevin informed Gloria that Kay seemed to be perfectly sane.

Esther and Chloe chatted about Cane. Esther had hope that he and Chloe would eventually be happy together, but Chloe didn't think that would happen....
Jill assured Cane that he'd get over the pain of losing Lily and noted that it would be easier for him to not have Lily around. She reminded him of the commitment he made to Chloe and their unborn child. "I don't love Chloe," He stated. Meanwhile, Chloe told Esther that she's not in love with Cane. Esther shared a story about unrequited love she'd once had — when she was 11. Chloe revealed that there was someone who she did love.... Kay offered to speak with Lily for Cane, but he told his grandmother that that wasn't necessary. He felt guilty for being excited about impending fatherhood. Kay noted that dragging things out would be painful for Lily.... Lily revealed to Colleen that she quit her job. Colleen gave her friend a sympathetic hug. Lily explained that seeing the picture of the healthy baby made her realize that all of her dreams were gone. Coll called Chloe a bitch. Lily noted how Cane's always wanted his own family. Colleen asked if Lily was open to dating again. "I guess...what do I have to lose?" Lily replied. Later, Lily informed Chloe that she quit her job and has no more ties for Cane. "Now I hope you and I never see each other again," Lily spat... Cane asked Colleen if she'd like to test for the new Fresh Face of Jabot.... Esther happily told Kay about her visit with her daughter. "Is she home from school?" a confused Kay asked.

Ghost John paid Jack a visit and was pleased to see all of his kids back together. Jack told his late father of his plan to get Jabot back into the family. Ghost John warned him to be careful about using Billy as his inside man.... Billy returned home and surprised Jill. She was thrilled to see her son back in town.

Wednesday

Jill happily greeted Billy, pleased to learn he's moving back to Genoa City. She assured her son that he'll have a place at Jabot and tried to explain why she hired Cane as CEO. Cane stopped by Jill's office and was thrilled to finally meet his brother. Billy asked about Lily working with Jabot, and Cane broke the news that she quit. Billy left to get settled and agreed to meet and discuss Fresh Faces later. At the elevator, he ran into Colleen, who explained she was there for some test shots. Billy went over to Amber's place and they quickly fell into bed. Meanwhile, Jill advised Cane to start a new line instead of trying to resurrect Fresh Faces with Colleen.

Earlier, Cane asked Colleen at Crimson Lights if she'd be the new face of Jabot. Colleen surmised Cane's picking her just to get updates on his ex, but he insisted that she's perfect for the gig. Meanwhile, Lily made some calls on the patio, saying she's resigned to focus more on school but couldn't help thinking back to when Cane first complimented her on her beautiful smile. After Cane departed, Colleen asked Lily if it was okay if she took her old Jabot job. Lily was miffed, but told Coll to go for it.

Karen showed up at Neil's with her luggage in tow. She was apprehensive about moving in, but Neil promised it won't be a repeat of last time. Later, Neil commented on how well Karen bonded with Ana and said she'd make a great mom. Karen explained that her mother died when she was 12 years old. Later, they drank wine and Karen admitted she never told Neil about her mom because she just wanted to keep some of the mystery about her past going.

At Restless Style, Daniel checked the status of his art sales. Amber chimed in, saying she was helpful in selling one of his prints at the show by talking it up to a prospective buyer. Phyllis entered and wondered why Amber went to New York at all. Amber fired back by calling Phyllis a bad mother for not supporting her own son. The women bickered and Phyllis stormed off. "You shouldn't have done that," Daniel told his ex. Phyllis departed to meet Nick and Nikki at the cover shoot. Nick was clearly distracted and quickly left. Phyllis commented on his behavior and was outraged when Nikki blamed her for Nick's attitude, due in part to Phyllis' role in Victor's situation. Later, Nick told his mom that he was really hoping to share the magazine with Victor and was angry that his dad split without a good-bye, saying that he'll never trust him again. Amber and Daniel introduced themselves to this month's cover model, Ruby. Phyllis quickly shot them down when the duo tried to strike up more conversation with Ruby. After, Phyllis was visibly irked when Nikki expressed her concern that the model's attire was too sexy. Later, during the shoot, Phyllis caught Nick daydreaming. He was thinking about Victor.

Roxanne and Devon met for coffee. Devon was excited about performing with Ana and tried to hide the lingerie he purchased for Roxanne. Later, Lily sat down and gripped about how Cane had already offered someone else her job.
She refused to be upset or blame Cane for taking responsibility for Chloe and the company. She was, however, upset at Colleen. At the insistence of Devon and Roxanne, Lily later confronted her friend, saying their friendship was over if Colleen agreed to take the Jabot job.

Back at Restless Style, Phyllis confronted Nick about his behavior and wondered if he was mad at her for suggesting that he have Victor committed. Nick claimed he wasn't angry, but that he was more worried about Victor because now he doesn't have anyone to pick him up when he falls. To lighten the mood, they flirted and kissed while Nick took some sexy snapshots of his wife. Meanwhile, Nikki left a message for Victor and begged him to come back because his children are suffering and need him.

An upset Lily brought dinner to her dad, stunned to see that Karen had moved back in. She told them about quitting and her situation with Colleen.... Cane called Colleen to officially offer her the job, and she took it.... Amber and Billy had sex. After, Amber inquired about meeting Cane, then dished to Billy about Cane's situation with Chloe, adding that Cane's obviously still in love with Lily.

Thursday

At Restless Style, Nick and Phyllis congratulated each other for completing their first issue without Jack and Sharon. They were pleased that they put together a magazine that focused on fashion and wasn't sleazy.

Lauren wanted to go out with Nick and Phyllis to celebrate their new issue, but Michael replied that he had too much work to do on River's case. Lauren urged him to take a break.... At school, Eden was befriended by a classmate named Hannah who invited her to an "awesome" party. Noah overheard the invitation. Later, Lauren and Michael got a call from Eden's school and learned she'd skipped class. When she returned home, Michael reamed her out for cutting; Eden argued that she learned everything she needed to know from her dad. Lauren and Michael insisted that she attend school. Michael then confessed that he envies her because she got to grow up with River as her father while he was stuck with Terrible Tom. Eden relented and agreed to go back to school. She then asked if she could attend the party she was invited to, but they refused, noting that she needed to be punished for skipping class. "You win," Eden sighed and went up to her room. After, Lauren and Michael were pleased with how well they'd handled the discussion. Of course, Eden escaped and went to the party anyway.

At the Abbott mansion, Sharon and a designer discussed ideas for redecorating the home. The designer suggested an environmentally friendly material. They were interrupted when the doorbell rang; it was Billy, stopping by to see Jack. Sharon was pleased to see her brother-in-law, but Billy was surprised that Jack hadn't yet returned home from New York. He was also taken aback by the idea of Sharon changing the house. She admitted that Jack and Ashley weren't thrilled with her idea to update it. Soon, Noah joined them and asked if he could attend a party being thrown by his classmate, Austin. When Sharon said no, Noah called Nick and argued that the event would be supervised by Austin's dad. Nick agreed to speak with Sharon about it. He did and Sharon reluctantly gave in, provided Noah agreed to not drink, do drugs or go to another party. Noah promised to follow those rules.

Meantime, Jack informed Adam that Robert Drake, the editor of Restless Style's competitor, was interested in a tell-all on Victor and wanted to meet with Adam to discuss it. Adam reported that there was still no news on where Victor had disappeared to. Later, they met with Robert and offered up the story on Newman. Robert replied that he needed more "meat" to the story. Jack told him that they had Victor's handwritten diary; Robert was intrigued when Abbott stated that Victor had a "sick" mind and that the Newmans wanted Vic evaluated by a psychiatrist. Robert agreed to write up a contract, but wanted to see the diary first. After, Jack realized they needed to hire someone to forge the entries, but Adam began to have second thoughts about the plan.

Colleen met with Cane to chat about the Fresh Face of Jabot job. He was pleased with how her test shots came out. When Colleen told Lily the news, however, Lily didn't seem that happy for her friend. Lily assured her that they were still buds, but admitted that it was difficult seeing Colleen take over her job.

At the party, Hannah gave Eden a beer. Meanwhile, Noah was shocked to learn that Austin's dad was actually his older high-school aged brother, who'd been pretending to be the father. Two of the boys admired Eden, but Noah warned them that she's "psycho."

Phyllis wrote a scathing editor's note in which she blasted Jack and Sharon. "The devil and his vacuous, hair-chewing wife have been driven from the building," she typed. "Restless Style is well rid of them." Later in bed, Nick read her piece and stated that she did a good job. They soon began kissing and hit the sheets. Later, a frantic Sharon called reporting that Noah wasn't home and it was past his curfew.

Lily was pleased to run into Billy at Jabot. She questioned him about his relationship with Amber. He joked that the real reason he came home was because he missed Lily, and urged her to come back to the company.... At Crimson Lights, Chloe quizzed Colleen about replacing Lily and noted that they'd be working together. "How does it feel screwing over your best friend?" Chloe taunted, noting that Colleen's dating Lily's ex-husband and now has her modeling career. Coll shot back that Chloe was one to talk given how she got pregnant with Lily's fiancé's child. Chloe wasn't fazed and warned Colleen that just because Lily said she was okay with Colleen being the Fresh Face of Jabot didn't indicate that Lily really meant that. Colleen became defensive. Chloe stated that the only reason Cane hired Colleen was so he could stay close to Lily.

At Jabot, Cane tried to be friendly with his brother, but Billy turned down his offer to hang out after work, explaining that he had a conference call. Billy finally agreed to come by, provided he could bring a date. Later, when Cane informed Chloe that Billy was coming by, she suddenly became sleepy and asked to postpone it. Cane was upset with her for not wanting to meet his brother. Billy soon arrived and it became clear that he and Chloe know each other.

Friday

Michael paced and read through old police files on River's case. He was frustrated that the FBI had let another protester — who could've been a witness — go. He and Lauren discussed Eden and how to deal with her. Lauren noted that this was the first time the teen had to deal with rules and regulations, but she believed that Eden was a good kid.

At Crimson Lights, Colleen told Lily that she wasn't going to take the Fresh Face of Jabot job, since Lily seemed to be upset with it. After, Colleen encouraged Lily to join an online dating service. Lily wasn't so sure that was the right move, especially given her past with Kevin, whom she'd met online. Later, Lily gave in and considered finding love on the Internet.

Meanwhile, Amber told Daniel that she had plans that evening with Billy; he replied that he was seeing Colleen. Amber noted that he seemed to make plans with Colleen whenever she mentioned Billy.

At Cane's, Billy was shocked when a pregnant Chloe answered the door. It was obvious that they knew each other. A clueless Cane joined them and introduced his brother to his wife. Billy then asked Chloe when her due date was, and she told him the baby was coming in April. Chloe again tried to get out of the gathering by feigning sleepiness, but Amber soon arrived. The foursome hung out and Billy quizzed Chloe and Cane about their courtship; they tried to evade the questions. Instead, Chloe asked Billy why he was working in Hong Kong. Cane asked where Amber and Billy met and it became awkward when they gave him two different answers. Billy was intrigued as Cane's romantic pasts with Amber, Lily and Chloe were discussed. When they were alone, Billy teased Chloe, who was annoyed with him for almost bringing up the fact that they know each other. Later, Chloe and Amber chatted about "Liam" really being Billy. Chloe wondered if they were serious. Amber admitted that she'd rather be with Daniel. After, Billy learned that Chloe is actually Esther's daughter Kate.

Phyllis tossed and turned in bed as she thought about Nick running straight to Sharon the minute Sharon called about Noah missing his curfew. Meanwhile, at the party, Eden teased Noah when he got a call from Nick. Eden grabbed the phone and taunted Nick; he demanded that she put Noah on the phone immediately. As Noah tried to get the phone back, one of the other guys spilled beer on his shirt. Eden told Noah that he had to do a certain number of pushups in order to get it back, and then demanded that he dance with her.... Nick called Phyllis and filled her in on the Noah drama. Nick and Sharon then went to retrieve him. They arrived and Noah panicked. Everyone bolted when they heard the cops approaching. Sharon and Nick then blasted Noah for smelling like beer and grounded him.... Phyllis had a bad dream about Sharon and Nick being together and changed her editor's letter to put Sharon and Jack in a worse light.... Sharon and Nick discussed what to do about Noah. Sharon noted that they can't lock Noah up just because of what happened with Cassie. She assured Nick that they'd survive their son's teen years. Jack was upset when he returned and spied Nick and Sharon hugging. Noah spied the embrace, too.

Eden returned home to a furious Lauren and Michael. She didn't think it was a big deal, but the Baldwins disagreed. Michael warned that he could revoke his guardianship and she could live with a foster family. Eden didn't understand why he cared when Michael didn't even know he had a sister. Michael explained that's exactly why he cares — because he wants to be there for her. Eden then stated that Michael's not her father, so he can't tell her what to do. She didn't believe that Michael really cared if he threatened to send her to live with strangers. Michael replied that he didn't mean it. Eden wouldn't listen and stormed out. Later, Eden packed her bags and told them she was going back to the ashram, and Michael blurted that their dad was going on trial for murder.
