Y&R Week of June 16, 2008
Monday
At Crimson Lights, Jana and Kevin discussed Gloria. Jana believed things
would improve for Glo. Meanwhile, Lauren was impressed when Gloria managed to sell an expensive item to a frugal customer — until Lauren realized Gloria had unwittingly sold the bracelet for only $200, when it was really much more costly. Gloria offered to pay the difference, but a fed-up Lauren demoted her mother-in-law to the stock room. Later, Glo called Kevin and complained about working in a "sweat shop." Things got worse for her when she left the iron on and almost burned down the store. Lauren fired her.
Meanwhile, at the coffeehouse, Devon told Lily that he and Roxanne are doing well and that he couldn't understand why Chloe had suddenly started kissing her. Later, Lily met up with Cane at work and revealed that Chloe has a crush on Devon. Cane wondered if Chloe was drunk, which offended Lily on Devon's behalf. Cane replied that Chloe had also kissed him when she was drunk another time. Lily was furious with Cane for keeping this from him, but he explained that Chloe couldn't remember what had happened. Lily recalled Chloe mentioning that when she drinks she gets "crazy." Cane assured Lily that he loves her, but just didn't want to hurt her. Lily made him promise to tell him the truth sooner rather than later if it ever happened again. After, Devon and Cane commiserated about smooching Chloe. Devon warned Cane that he thinks Chloe is into Cane.... Lily reamed out Chloe for kissing Cane. "As a friend, you suck," Lily seethed before demanding that Chloe move out of her home. Chloe then confronted Cane for making her look bad.
Katherine questioned Jill about her relationship with Jeffrey, noting that
Jeff is in love with Gloria. Jill told Kay to butt out. Later, Jill told Jeff that she's okay with a "friends with benefits" relationship. After, she
explained to Kay that she's going to find out what Glo's secret is.... Jeff
comforted a distraught Gloria by surprising her with a kiss.
Victor and Sabrina kissed and discussed wedding plans. Victor suggested they get married in the old barn. Sabrina liked this idea, but was concerned about not having yet found a maid of honor. After, Adam and Victor met to talk about the Beauty Of Nature campaign.... Sabrina stopped by the coffeehouse, where Jana very enthusiastically offered to help with the wedding. Sabrina asked Jana to be her maid of honor; Jana happily accepted, then asked Sabrina to be in her wedding party.... Adam gloated to Victoria about how Victor is letting him revamp BoN and rename it "Newman Infinity." After, Victoria vented to Brad about her problems with Victor and Adam... Victor and Sabrina reunited and continued with the wedding plans. They agreed that France would be a nice honeymoon destination.
Neil went to New York City, where he surprised Karen and asked her to return to Genoa City. He admitted how much he missed her and how he has no interest in dating anyone — unless it's her. "You were the best sparring partner ever," he finished. Karen replied that she'll need a job, but Neil stated that he had enough pull to reinstate her at Newman. He then asked Karen to marry him — immediately. Karen insisted on having some time to think. Neil
returned to GC.
Tuesday
At Jabot, Victoria shared her idea for a green cosmetics line with Heather.
Heather was intrigued. Victoria wondered how Heather was adjusting to working at Jabot; Heather replied that she's settling in well. Vicky
reminded her to take some time to have fun.
Adam paid Nick a visit at Restless Style and asked if he could pull the Beauty of Nature ad from the magazine for a month. Nick was surprised to hear about the product getting revamped so that it would be completely organic and have a new name. Nick suggested they run a "countdown" to the "Newman Infinity" line in order to pique the readers' curiosity, and Adam admitted that it was difficult for him to trust others' advice. The brothers then discussed Victor's wedding. Nick said that he was relieved that Adam was going to be the best man. "What a tool," Nick muttered to himself after Adam stepped away.
Sabrina called Lauren to discuss the wedding planning. After, Victor joined
his fiancée and announced that he was taking her to the OB/GYN ASAP. Sabrina was impressed that he could get her an appointment so quickly. Later, Sabrina and Victor went to Crimson Lights where he surprised her by getting her a cup of orange cocoa, just like she'd had in the Caribbean. Interesting. Sabrina then chatted about her doctor, noting how much she liked her. Victor was eager to be there for this child. He wanted to join her while she dealt with some wedding business but she reminded him that it was bad luck to see the bride in her gown before the ceremony. Sabrina then joined Jana to go over wedding details. Sabrina admitted to Jana that being so happy makes her nervous because she realizes how everything can slip through her fingers. Jana wanted to throw her a bachelorette party, but
Sabrina didn't want that. Soon, Lauren joined them and presented Jana with
some gowns for the event. Sabrina tried on her simple, but striking wedding dress and looked gorgeous. Adam interrupted them and was speechless at the sight of the bride-to-be. Meanwhile, Victor asked Nick if Summer could be a flower girl, but Nick thought she might be too young. Victor confessed that Nick was his first choice for best man, but he knew Nick would've refused. Nick agreed that he probably would have. Later, Victor surprised the ladies by stopping by — while Sabrina was in her gown. She quickly hid behind
Lauren so he wouldn't see her. Jana freaked out and began shrieking. Lauren told her to get a grip, sharing how her friend had shown her husband her gown and they ended up winning the lottery.
Nick and Victoria dined out together at the GCAC, where they discussed
Adam's work on the Newman Infinity line. Nick then informed her that the
line was going to be organic — just like the Jabot line. Vicky believed that Victor was so preoccupied with the wedding, he wasn't paying attention to the business. Victoria then gave him the details on her line, while Adam gave the details of his line to Heather.
Devon and Lily came home and searched for an item of Devon's. During their search, they found a photo album that Neil had been putting together. They enjoyed looking at the old photos. Later, Neil returned and reported that things hadn't gone so well with Karen in New York City.
Gloria and Jeffrey kissed passionately, but the mood was broken when Glo
asked if Jeff had slept with Jill. When he answered, "Uhhh..." Glo slapped
him. Jeff replied that she'd slept with Alistair. Gloria became so angry she
through a lamp. As she cleaned up the mess, Jeff noted that them being
together was exciting. Glo denied caring about him and reamed him out for blackmailing her into marriage. "I know you want me as much as I want you," he stated. "I hate you," Gloria whispered as they again began kissing. "No you don't," he teased, which actually made her smile. They ended up having sex.
Wednesday
At the Newman Ranch, Jana floated down the stairs, waving a list of wedding
details. Adam offered to throw a bachelor party for Victor. After, Sabrina
was disappointed when a friend overseas couldn't make the event. Adam
questioned Sabrina about her family; she revealed that her dad was killed by
a car bomb when she was 12, and her mom then sent her to boarding school.
She added that this was why she hated losing Victoria as a friend — because
Vicky was her family. They bonded over being outsiders and Adam apologized
for calling her a gold digger. "Just for that, you're going to have to call
me 'Mommy,'" Sabrina joked.
Nikki and David dined at the GCAC. He revealed that he had a surprise for
her. After, David told Brad that he was giving up gambling for good and gave
Carlton a check for the money he owed him.
Gloria had a nightmare where she was a homeless woman selling flowers to
Jill, Nikki and Jana in the coffeehouse — and Kevin kicked her out. "What's
that smell, is something wrong with the plumbing?" asked Nikki. "Forget the
plumbing, it's eau de Glo," snarked Jill. When Glo awakened, Fisher was
slobbering all over her. She then got an emergency call from Kevin, noting
that Crimson Lights was swamped because there was a convention in town, and
he was understaffed. He was willing to give Gloria another chance at the
café, but was confused when his mother started rambling on about being
homeless.
Colleen returned to Genoa City, but didn't tell Adrian she was back. She was
relieved when Brad invited her to move back home.... Victoria and baby Reed
joined Adrian in Crimson Lights. Adrian shared that he's writing an article
on Victor's new collection for Restless Style. Victoria refused to comment
for it.... Colleen brought Jana a prayer wheel from Asia and agreed to help
Kevin out at the coffeehouse. Adrian was surprised to see her and wondered
why she hadn't told him she was coming home. They sat down to talk and
Colleen admitted that she wasn't sure she could be in a relationship with
him. Adrian couldn't believe that she wanted to give up on them, but she
wanted to move on.
At Jabot, Victoria and Jill argued over how to launch her cosmetics line,
with Vicky wanting to speed things up and Jill wanting to take some more
time. Jill was annoyed when Katherine sided with Victoria. Nikki joined
them, and Jill explained that they had to reschedule a conference call
because they were attending Victor's wedding. They were surprised that Nikki
wasn't upset, but she noted that since she married someone else, Victor
should, too. However, when she was alone, Nikki grew sad as she thought
about her ex being with another woman. Later, Kay called Gloria to Jabot and
said that she was concerned about her. Gloria begged for Kay to give her
back her job. Nikki and Kay wanted to rehire her, but Jill didn't want to
and argued with Nikki. Kay overrode her and rehired Gloria as the
receptionist.
Victor ran into Nikki at the GCAC and they shared a civil conversation about
their children, but Nikki wasn't planning to attend the wedding. After, Neil
met up with Victor in the club and they chatted about Vic's upcoming
wedding. Victor admitted that it was difficult to not have his family
supporting his wedding. Later, Neil encouraged Victoria to go to the
wedding.
Victoria was suspicious when she spied David giving Brad his check. David
explained that Brad was helping him plan a surprise for Nikki. He then
interrupted a meeting at Jabot to request that Nikki join him for an
"emergency." He blindfolded her and led her into the stables — and then
presented her with a horse named Athena. Nikki loved her gift.... Victor
gave Sabrina a silver rattle for their unborn baby. He believed that their
child would eventually become friends with Reed, and that Victoria and
Sabrina would make amends.
Neil was surprised when he returned home and Karen arrived on his doorstep.
Thursday
Victor became upset when Victoria confirmed she wasn't coming to his
wedding. Nikki arrived on the scene and before walking off, Victor huffed,
"Talk some sense into your daughter, will you?" Victoria was stunned when
her mom urged her to attend the nups. Nikki explained, " I just think that
you should be the bigger person. You're not going to change how he feels
about Sabrina and no matter who he's married to, he's always going to be
your father." Nikki also explained that she and David were doing better than
ever.
Adrian tried to approach Colleen at Crimson Lights, but she was busy
working. Lily walked in and was surprised to see her pal waitressing.
Colleen filled
in Lily on her breakup with Adrian.
Neil was thrilled to see Karen, but asked why she came to Genoa City. "I'm
not sure," she admitted, then suggested that they focus on just being
friends
for now. Neil agreed and said he would get Karen's job at Newman, which she
appreciated
While waiting for Lily to show up at Indigo, Cane and Devon spied Chloe
getting drunk. Cane offered to call a cab but Chloe slurred that she was
living in a boardinghouse. When she started to get depressed, Devon tried to
jolly her with, "You're a cool girl ... with a real cool job." Lily showed
up
and was overjoyed to see her dad with Karen. "This is great!" Lilly trilled.
"You guys are back together!" Neil explained that he and Karen were taking
things slow this time. Meanwhile, Cane arranged for cheap housing for Chloe
with the condition that she stay away from him.
Jack was thrilled when Ashley and Abby arrived at the mansion. Ash, in turn,
was surprised to learn that her brother invited Gloria to live in the pool
house. "Have you lost your freakin' mind?" Ashley posed and Jack explained
Gloria's current financial state plus he was atoning for his shabby
treatment of her. Ashley assumed that Glo had added a hideous knickknack to
the living room and Sharon admitted that it was her choice. Ashley was
surprised to learn that her sister-in-law was completely remodeling the
house. "I kind of like it the way it is," Ash opined.
Brad tempted David with betting on a baseball game for the upcoming weekend.
David was obviously interested, but said he would let Brad know later. David
also shared that Victoria saw him give a check to Brad, who assured Chow
that he would back up his story. Next, David told Victoria that the horse he
gave Nikki belonged to a friend of Brad's.
After a romantic dinner, where Sabrina shared with Victor about her strained
relationship with her mother, Zara. Sabrina explained that after her father
died, Zara "started dressing me up to look much older than I was and putting
makeup on me and doing my hair and taking me to clubs, ordering drinks for
me, claiming that we were sisters." Sabrina was then shocked to find her
mother waiting for her at the ranch.
Friday
Paul seemed bothered when he walked in on Adam and Heather canoodling at the
GCAC. She revealed that she is attending Victor's wedding as Adam's date.
"Talk about going public," Paul uneasily observed and Adam departed.
"Do you feel like getting married today?" Victor playfully asked Sabrina.
Their smooching was interrupted by Zara descending the stairs, which
darkened Sabrina's mood. Later, mother and daughter were alone and Sabrina
was irked when Zara congratulated her on landing a big fish like Victor
Newman.
While Nikki and David were breakfasting at GCAC, Brad joined them and
intentionally set down a newspaper that included an ad for an upcoming poker
tournament in Las Vegas. David explained that he got Nikki's horse from one
of Brad's friends and Carlton backed up the story. She left so the guys
could talk business and Brad asked about the baseball pool but David decided
to "earn my money the old fashion way." After Brad took off, David anxiously
eyed the poker ad. Paul caught David scanning the ad but he called his
sponsor. "I really need your help," David said then proceeded to unravel
about losing control. After hanging up, he booked a flight to Vegas.
Victoria admitted to Nick that she was conflicted about not going to their
dad's wedding. "I think you should be there," Nick advised. Victoria then
pointed out that going would give her the chance to really tell Victor and
Sabrina what she thinks about their relationship when the minister asks if
anyone objects to the marriage. Nick urged his sister to let "Dad live his
life and you live yours." J.T. later suggested they go on a short trip and
she agreed but soon started doubting her decision.
Katherine checked on Nikki who assured that she wasn't bothered by Victor's
wedding. When Kay voiced her concern about David's addiction, Nikki said her
husband was dealing with it. "I trust him," declared Mrs. Chow. Later, David
told Nikki that he wanted a divorce. "I'm leaving you," he announced to a
stunned Nikki and walked out.
As Sabrina was getting ready, Zara scolded her for choosing Jana as the maid
of honor. Zara tried to tell her daughter about Jana's background but a
stressed-out Sabrina ordered her to "please be quiet" or else security would
escort her to the airport.
At the barn, Victor revealed to Adam that he is the father of Ashley's
daughter Abby. The guests started arriving and Jill scowled upon seeing
Heather with Adam. She confronted them and Heather assured that her
relationship with Adam wouldn't interfere with her work. Nick arrived and
wished his dad well but Victor was hurt that Victoria was a no show. The
ceremony began and Victor was touched upon seeing Victoria and J.T. slip in
and sit down. Sabrina then made her entrance....
