Young and Restless Recaps

Y&R Week of January 28, 2008

Monday

Nikki and J.T. encouraged Victoria to wake up to see her baby. "I know she
can feel him there," he surmised to his mother-in-law. J.T. later told
Victor that Reed stopped fussing as soon as he was placed next to his
mother. Victor thought it was a good idea that J.T. stay at the ranch
instead of going back and forth form the loft with the baby. "You're part of
the family now," Victor pointed out.

A freaked-out Amber called 911 after Katherine suddenly passed out. Kay came
to and told a relieved Amber to cancel the paramedics and call for her own
personal physician to come out. Amber fretted that her stunt as Marina
caused Kay a lot of undue stress but La Chancellor assured that it didn't.
The doctor showed up, examined Kay and concluded that she had a mini-stroke.
He wanted her to go to the hospital soon for more tests. Amber convinced Kay
to get her tests now but as they were leaving, Jill and Cane showed up and
were peeved to see Amber. Kay fibbed that "Amber invited me out to dinner."

Heather was upset when Michael revealed that her star witness lied about
seeing Victor on the night of Ji Min's death. "You look a little, uh,
queasy," Michael chided his opponent. "Can I get you some water, whiskey...
shot of Demerol?" When Heather refused to drop the charges, Michael vowed to
go to her boss. Heather later told Maggie that the police confirmed that the
witness was lying. The D.A. wanted to drop the case but Heather assured she
could find another backup witness. Maggie was concerned that Heather wasn't
taking her time as she hurried out to salvage her case. Maggie tipped off
Paul that his daughter may need some encouragement.

Neil congratulated Lily on winning the Jabot contest. Neil voiced his
reservations about Cane, but Lily insisted that they were "just friends."
Lily then pointed out that her dad seemed to be moving on quickly past Dru's
death with Karen. "I feel like for the first time in my life that I'm
starting to heal with Karen's help," Neil explained. "I have a lot of love
left to give someone."

Nick reveled in having Phyllis home from her vacation and announced that his
parents were now divorced. Nick also spelled out that Victor now owns NVP
and that his dad also fired him from Newman Enterprises. Phyllis urged Nick
to "mend the rift" but he said he would never trust his dad again. Phyllis
then suggested that she and Nick start their venture together.

Paul tracked down a frazzled Heather in her office and said, "You are very
good at what you do. There's a reason you're here, doing what you do. You
solve things. You will solve this." Heather was comforted by his words until
the D.A. Showed up and announced, "Call Michael Baldwin and tell him we're
dropping all charges against Victor Newman." Heather blamed Paul for
throwing her "off my game" by being in her life.

Michael informed Victor that the charges against him were dropped. "Well,
I'll be damned," said a stunned Vic.... J.T. and Nikki left Reed with
Victoria to go downstairs for dinner. The baby started crying and Victoria's
eyes fluttered open.

Tuesday

Nikki and J.T. checked on a crying Reed and were shocked to see that
Victoria was waking up from her coma. Victoria freaked when she realized she
wasn't pregnant anymore but Nikki assured her daughter that the baby was
fine and brought Reed over. Victoria was astounded as she held her son. J.T.
ran downstairs and shared the news with Victor who rushed up and rejoiced in
a reunion with his daughter. "My sweetheart, we've been waiting for you to
open your eyes," murmured an elated Victor. Her memory was hazy and her
words were a little slurred, but Victoria started remembering the Clear
Springs collapse. Nikki and Victor urged their daughter to be easy on
herself. When the doctor was contacted, he advised not to over-stimulate her
for the time being until checked her out.

As Phyllis and Nick were discussing a new venture together, he was shocked
when Nikki called to announce that Victoria was awake. Nick and Phyllis sped
over to the ranch and, while she cooled her heels downstairs with Nikki he
happily visited with his sister. Phyllis offered her condolences to Nikki
over losing NVP, then Victor showed up and offered his daughter-in-law a job
with the company. After Nikki left, Phyllis tried to talk Victor into making
peace with Nick but he wouldn't budge. "If he wants to talk about it, he has
to come to me," Victor demanded. "I will not come to him."

Gloria and Kevin discussed what poison to employ in setting up Jeff for
attempted murder. "I want you to buy the poison online using his credit
card," Glo schemed. "Then, the police can trace it directly to him." After
Gloria scampered off, Jana pestered Kevin about what he and his mother were
up to. He finally confessed all the trouble that Gloria was in and Jana
offered to help.

Jack and Sharon were peeved when his lawyer verified that Gloria is entitled
to half of the Abbott house and could move in at anytime. "We'll offer her
substantially more than her half of the house's worth," Sharon suggested.
"We all know that she's greedy. We just have to come up with the right
price." Jack and Sharon approached Gloria and Jeff at the GCAC and made a
very generous offer but Glo immediately turned them down. "We're not for
sale," Jeff declared. "We're not rolling over for you." Later, Sharon
revealed to Jack that she saw Gloria cringe when Jeff touched her. "What
doesn't Gloria want us to know?" Sharon wondered. Meanwhile, Jeff told his
wife it was time they consummated their marriage. When she refused, he
presented her with papers to add his name to her bank accounts. Gloria stole
one of Jeffrey's credit cards and slipped it to Kevin. She wasn't thrilled
to learn that Jana knew everything.

While the doctor examined Victoria, Victor announced to Nikki, Nick, Phyllis
and J.T. that the murder charges against have been dropped. "It seems
Michael Baldwin was more willing to believe that I was incapable of murder
than my own family," Vic huffed. The doctor came downstairs and advised to
"keep the stress to a minimum" with Victoria. Nikki and Victor decided to
not tell her that their divorce was finalized. Meanwhile, J.T. and the baby
curled up in bed with Victoria.

Wednesday

At the Chancellor mansion, Jill was concerned by her mother's lethargy, but
Katherine assured she was fine. As Jill was leaving for the office, she was
irked when Amber showed up. "I've barred you from Jabot and believe me, if I
could bar you from this house, I would," seethed Jill who then stormed out.
Kay thanked Amber for not revealing that she was asked to come over. Kay
then recounted her contentious relationship with Jill before they knew they
were mother and daughter. "We spent the better part of our lives making each
other miserable," Kay sighed. She also remembered her stormy times with
husbands Phillip and Rex, and Amber was transfixed by the stories. "You are
my new hero!" enthused Amber, who suggested that Katherine write her
memoirs. The doctor arrived to confirm that Kay had a minor stroke and
recommended "a few dietary precautions and some other dos and don'ts." Amber
vowed to help Kay follow the new regimen.

Lily was nervous when she arrived with Devon for her first photo shoot. Cane
showed up for support and Lily admitted that she was "petrified." Cane
lovingly said, "You are beautiful. You are confident. You are fearless."
Colleen appeared and everyone was blown away by how great she looked in her
first outfit for the shoot.

Neil lamented to Karen about Lily's modeling career. "Modeling was one of
the things that took Dru away from you, right?" Karen observed and when Neil
agreed, she pointed out that he's afraid of losing Lily. Neil called Devon
to see how the shoot was going. Devon urged his dad to come over because his
presence would mean a lot to Lily. Neil and Karen headed over to the photo
studio, where he was stunned by Lily's made-over look. "You look wonderful,
darling," he tenderly admitted but Lily later told Colleen that she didn't
think her dad approved. Neil was peeved by the way Cane was looking at Lily.
After the shoot, Neil praised his daughter and Cane wanted to take her out
to celebrate.

Kay told Jill that she has decided to step down from Chancellor Industries
and wants her daughter to run the business. Jill became alarmed and asked if
her mother was ill but Kay announced she was writing a book about her life.
Jill was worried about the scandal it would cause ... Neil announced to
Karen that he wanted to work on her getting over her stage fright.... Buoyed
by Kay's words, Amber tried not to get depressed when she spied Cane and
Lily kissing.

Thursday

At Jabot, Gloria told Kevin that the poison had arrived. Jeffrey suddenly
showed up and asked his wife out to lunch but she told him she was too busy.
Later, Jeff approached Kevin and warned his stepson to stop hacking into his
accounts and phone records or else "Gloria goes to jail."

Katherine wanted Jill to take over Chancellor Industries in "a few weeks."
Jill and Cane asked who was going to run Jabot and Kay said she had someone
in mind but didn't want to reveal who until she spoke to the "leading
candidate." After Jill left for the office, Kay recommended that Cane stop
leading Amber on by being nice to her. "Your every look, your
half-compliment, that still gives her hope," Kay pointed out. "Even smiling
casually at her, she's doesn't see you and your indifference."

Nikki and Victor signed the final documents on their divorce. "You're
walking away from this with a hell of a settlement," grumbled Vic. "You can
start a new company. Do whatever you want." Once the papers were signed,
Nikki reminded her ex that they needed to keep mum about their split from
Victoria. "When she's stronger, we'll tell her," affirmed Nikki. Neil
arrived and announced that Nikki, Kay and Jack won their lawsuit against
Victor. The judge ordered Victor to pay them $75,000,000 and he vowed to
appeal. "Do what you need to do," sighed Nikki. "I don't want to fight
anymore."

Upon finding out that Jill would be leaving Jabot, Gloria suggested herself
for the position. "I have all the qualifications," she boasted but Jill
advised her not to get her hopes up. Gloria approached Kay but La Chancellor
revealed that she already had someone else in mind for the job.

Victoria was depressed that she missed the birth of her son but J.T.
comforted her. "We're going to get married as soon as you have enough
strength to get out of this bed," J.T. declared and Victoria anxiously
agreed. She then wanted to go downstairs to see her parents. J.T. carried
her down, just in time for them to hear Victor and Nikki arguing. She asked
point blank if her parents were getting a divorce and Nikki reluctantly
confirmed it. "Some things get broke beyond repair," Nikki lamented and
Victoria seemed to accept the news.

Cane told Amber that "we do not have a future together. I do not love you
anymore, but you deserve to be loved." Amber was upset and Cane gave her a
comforting hug. Neil misunderstood their interaction and blasted Cane for
"playing the field." Cane explained himself and Neil warned, "If you ever do
anything to hurt my daughter.... I'm not gonna be a happy daddy."

Victor asked J.T. to be the head of security for Newman Enterprises and he
accepted.... Nikki told Victoria that she accepted David's proposal.... Brad
visited Victoria and accidentally mentioned that Victor fired Nick.... Kay
asked Nikki to run Jabot.

Friday

Phyllis told Nick that she wasn't going to accept his father's offer to work
at NVP. They discussed what kind of venture they wanted to start together
and Nick preferred "creative stuff."

While breakfasting at the GCAC, Sharon and Jack fumed about Gloria and Jeff
moving in the next day. Sharon reminded her husband that Phyllis and Nick
were coming over for dinner. Victor stopped by and accused Jack of bribing
the witness who lied. Jack denied the allegation but Victor warned that the
police would soon come after Abbott.

With Amber in tow, Katherine showed up at the Newman ranch and asked Nikki
if she was going to accept the offer to run Jabot. Nikki responded that the
job sounded "like a perfect fit to me." Kay said that Nikki could hire her
own team but requested that she take on Amber as her assistant. Amber was
excited at first but ultimately turned it down because she didn't want to be
working close to Cane. "He is my drug, and I just need to stay away from
him," she sighed.

Brad asked Victor for Nick's old position. Vic huffed that he didn't trust
Carlton and wouldn't give him the job. "You're making a mistake," Brad
warned but Victor wouldn't budge.

"I wanna get married now," Victoria announced to J.T. "Right here, in this
house." He asked if she was up for it and Victoria assured she was. Kay and
Nikki, then Victor showed up and Victoria revealed that she wanted to get
married in a few days.

Jack stopped by Crimson Lights to pick up a cake for that night's dessert
and spied Amber's fashion designs. " You're good," Jack declared. "You got
talent." Jack left with the cake and headed home, where Nick and Phyllis
later arrived for dinner. As they were all toasting to "crossroads," Phyllis
suggested that the men team up for a new business venture and Jack
envisioned something that had to do with "fashion, art, lifestyle." The idea
of a new magazine and Web site was discussed.

Nikki informed Victor that she was going to be helming Jabot but he sneered
that she was going to be "Katherine's puppet." ... Katherine told Amber that
she was going to write a book.... For her upcoming nups, Victoria asked to
wear her mother's wedding dress (from when she last married Victor) and
Nikki was thrilled.... Nikki mentioned to Brad that she may have a place for
him at Jabot.
