Would You Date Them?

Whether it would be an “official” date or you’d just hang out as friends, which of these men are appealing enough for a real-life night of dining and dancing? What’s your type — daring or distanced? Sweet or cynical? Who would you recommend to a friend as the best potential date? Tell us yes or no for each character, along with your reasons, by August 8. Look for the results (and your always-appreciated comments!) on August 23.

Would you date…

YOUNG AND RESTLESS’ Danny Romalotti?

Traits: sweet-hearted; a little judgmental; goofy at times (but lovably so)
Status: involved, but that could change
Pros: probably the kindest guy in Genoa City; can regale you all about his years as a rock star; married his fan club president, Traci; still has a youthful quality and that fine singing voice; has a friendly, vocally talented sister
Cons: has a son who is extremely displeased with him, and a wild-minded ex-wife (who he divorced shortly after they began their “trial marriage”)
Where you’d find him: at his beautiful apartment; reminiscing with Christine on a beach; surprising his old fans at a karaoke night (Rock on!)

ALL MY CHILDREN’s Jamie Martin?

Traits: kind; fiery; impulsive
Status: single, but in love with Babe and has had casual, no-strings-attached sex with friend Maggie
Pros: tries hard to be honest; supersmooth talker; has one of the funniest dads on the East Coast; if you like having “relations” in limos, he’s your guy; have you looked at him?

Cons: was jailed for drugging his sister-in-law; that increasingly evil brother of his; won’t hold back the truth about anything (possibly including your outfit); fought in school and stole a plastic cow; slept with his brother’s wife (but sort of accidentally); there are far too many single women in Pine Valley

Where you’d find him: possibly still in jail; hanging out with his friends at his apartment or the mall; charming revelers at the latest ball

Would you date AMC’s Jamie Martin?
PASSIONS’ Luis Lopez-Fitzgerald?

Traits: heroic (sometimes without even thinking); endearing; filled with romantic skills (even without saying anything)

Status: involved (but she’s often kidnapped or presumed dead, giving you an in)

Pros: he’s all about living for the moment and keeping you happy; has a loving, albeit chaos-filled, family; sometimes wears no shirt for 20 days

Cons: once you start romancing him, you’ll uneasily start your car…or open your house door; he’s been Alistair’s target for years; currently unemployed; sometimes wears the same shirt for 20 days

Where you’d find him: anywhere there’s evidence against Alistair Crane; currently on the run and looking for clues in Mexico

THE WINNER OF DATE SET #8

The clear winner in our first all-women set (where we asked if you’d like to date or befriend the character) was…
GUIDING LIGHT’s Cassie Winslow!
85% of the female and male respondents said the hotel owner could light up their night.
“Yes, I would date Cassie!! She’s beautiful, tough, soft and cares for her family. Would almost be intimidating dating a former princess but would be fun doing so!” — Jim
“Cassie’s the best!” — Missy
“Most definitely. She seems just my type, and that man of hers would be history.” — Michael
“Yes, if I were a man I’d want someone strong like Cassie.” — Verdie
“What sane man or lesbian would pass over the opportunity to hook up with such a beauty who also has class to spare?” — Elias

15% said, “No, thanks.”
“I wouldn’t date Cassie because I am not her type: I wouldn’t chain her to a wall or cause the death of her baby.” — A.
“No, I wouldn’t. My husband wouldn’t be too happy about it!” — Debbie

GENERAL HOSPITAL’s Courtney Matthews split the respondents down the middle, with 50% saying yes.
“Of course I’d date her; she is beautiful and smart and caring.” — Charles
“I’m a girl that totally likes GUYS but if I was a guy I would date Courtney. She’s sweet and innocent, with spunk. She could be a challenge and that’s what people like. I really want to stress the fact that I love guys!!” — Danita
“She’s the kind of person you dream about in high school: confident, sweet and selfless. Plus, she’s independent and was smart enough to break away from the mob.” — Andrew
“She kicks major butt. I never would have a boring moment being in her life. Definitely would keep things interesting.” — Courtney

50% journeyed elsewhere.
“She belongs with Jason. I wouldn’t want to compete with them and their love.” — Karen
“Never. She is always changing her mind and is never happy. She follows her morals one minute and then her heart the next.” — Samantha
“I’d opt to be alone before I’d even want to hang out with Courtney Matthews. She’s way too judgmental and overbearing.” — Mariah

DAYS OF OUR LIVES’ Bonnie Lockhart didn’t do too well, with 30% going for her.
“I would recommend her. She is a fun-loving person I think guys would love to date.” — Ashley
“[Judi Evans] is great as Bonnie; loved her as Adrienne. Hot hot hot!” — Luann
“Date, yes. Get more involved, no. She’d be a real fun date but you can’t trust her at all.” — Anthony

70% said, “Nah.”
“If she can steal from her own daughter she can steal from anyone.” — Lynn
“She looks like the one you can’t bring home to Mama!” — Kimberly
“I would drink with her, not date her.” — Marshall
