Will You Marry Me, Bill?

“I never use that word, I hate that word,” Warlock says with a laugh. “I mean, the act of getting married is OK, I just think that the word fiancee is…fruity. Not that there’s anything wrong with that! You know what’s really cute? Her mom and stepfather call each other boyfriend and girlfriend. And they’ve been married for 20 years.”Perhaps Warlock’s aversion to the word goes a bit deeper. “I think that boyfriend and girlfriend is appropriate because that’s what she is. I don’t own her and she doesn’t own me,” the actor shares. “And that’s what marriage sometimes represents to me, which is why people get so scared of it. No one wants to be owned! Ugh, what a horrible thought! It’s ‘my husband, my wife. You owe me this, you owe me that.’ For me, marriage represents a commitment to be together. That’s all it means.”Warlock ought to know. He was previously married to Marcy Walker (Liza, ALL MY CHILDREN), and engaged to Julie Pinson (ex-Eve, PORT CHARLES) and Erika Eleniak (his former BAYWATCH co-star). “To be honest with you, women want that, knowing that piece of paper gives them security,” he asserts. “That’s why men get so afraid of it. When someone is obsessing over something — I don’t care if it’s a cup of coffee — if you’re obsessing over that something so much, anyone’s going to be looking at it like, ‘What the hell?’ And when you hit the two-year mark, it’s, “What are we doing? Why aren’t we married?’ I don’t understand it, but that’s the way it is. I accept it.”
