That is a very difficult thing to predict. Under Pratt's reign as headwriter AMC has been decimated both as to individual characters and the show in general. Pratt did not fit a soap writer

Both TK & AM, do not want to travel back and forth so I don't think they will stay. I don't blame them & think that putting their familes first is the right thing .

I am going to think positive and bellieve the show will get alot better. After how bad Pratt made it, it can only go up from here. Let's hope one of the first things to happen is saying goodbye to nuLiza. My dream would be for YK and AM to stay but that ship has sailed unfortunately.

Nah, I don't think anyone's ship has sailed. Actors can be enticed to move if the right terms are included in a contract, from dollars to vacation time, and as we all saw, life can turn on a dime. One minute, the cast of AMC was going to work in NYC, and the next, they learn the show is moving to Los Angeles, and they had no idea this was a possibility. Life can surprise you when you least expect it. Susan Haskell is on OLTL, but she might not be in May. TK and his family may want to try some Cali sunshine for a change. AM is already going to L.A. when her maternity leave is over. Because of all this, and the promise of a Pratt-less AMC, the future can be very bright. You never know.

Getting rid of Pratt was too little, too late...JMHO...The thing is, until Brian Frons gets his pink slip, ABC daytime will continue to be in trouble..Frons hired McT, B&E, and Pratt..Frons approved the s/l they wrote, which means all the crap we saw, all the destruction was approved by himI'm glad to see Pratt gone.....but I would feel much better if Frons went with him...JMHO..Will the show improve??? No.... McT started the downward spiral.....B&E pushed it alonePratt was the final blow...They are losing their biggest talent, TK, AM, DC.....They have so many destroyed characters.....I would love it if a decent HW who knows how to write for daytime, respects the history of the show, history of the characters, etc was brought on, but I don't think Frons is capable of hiring someone like that...

Yes it can be improved. Problem is..the only characters left are so unlikable it's going to take Shakespeare to fix it.However, if someone comes along and corrects all the mistakes Pratt made, Bianca's baby, uncasting Liza, makes Annie pay, gives Adam back his balls, Erica leaves the Ryan love and brings back Jack, sends Scott packing and gives Michael E. Knight a good storyline along with Jessie and Angie, Amanda grows a brain, makes Kendall bright and sassy again and gives her back Zach, it could be saved. Good luck to them.Pratt is gone and I hope no one ever hires this man again to ruin their favorite show and characters.I'd settle for a Bobby Ewing.Why wasn't this done months ago? Maybe they woudln't have had to move to LA. It isn't like the fans weren't complaining then too.

This is the best thing that's happened to AMC in a long while. Now, if the new writer would do a little research and find out exactly what the main characters stand for and will try to remain true to their essence and their history, we will be happy viewers again. It's going to take time for us to see any positive difference because they film so far ahead, but let's hope things turn around as quickly as possible. I'm looking forward to this. I hope for AMC's sake it can be improved. It certainly cannot get any worse. Pratt's destruction was beyond anyone's imagination.

I know it sounds simple but I agree with those that have said the best way out of this past year..is to do a "Dallas" moment and completely lose last year. It's the only way to correct the total damage to the characters.

For example, Bianca - while personally not my favorite, I get that Eden and Bianca have had a big following over the years and she is Erica's daughter - a core family member. But there is no way to bring her back ever without Gabrielle - who is probably one of the worst constant reminders about how Pratt ruined AMC. It would be better to wipe out any reminder of this horrifying storyline.

That was just one example...there are many.

I agree - go back to the tornado, let Kendall be hit in the head by a falling house knocking her out - as in the Wizard of Oz - and have last year been her dream, i.e.nightmare.

Then we can all wake up with her and be happy that Kendall indeed killed the "wicked witch". .otherwise known to everyone in AMC land as Mr. Charles Pratt.

For me it is to late. ABC allowed him to destroy the history of the show, ignored what the viewers know happended, and completely changed the characters. His treatment of women was horrible, he was allowed to forget that most of his viewing audience is women, and he did his best to destroy favorite couples. His new couples were thrown together with little thought, and much to quickly to have any routing value. I will be gone when Alicia and Thorsten go. I will probably tune back in when Alicia comes back, although it will be difficult to not have Zach and Kendall. I hate that ABC allowed him to spend the last year of Zendall with them apart and acting OOC. I hope they do get the happy ride off into the sunset, but for me the damage he did is unforgivable! The man, and by extension, ABC have no clue what their viewers want to see. In my mind he destroyed the show and I am glad he is gone.

He had no right to make Zach the father of Bianca's baby. By doing so he ruined two beloved characters. He had no right to destroy the integrity of those characters or any other character that was already established . He betrayed the audience and the actor who gave life to that part. He had no right to kill off Stuart and make Adam the killer and focus the entire show on the despicable Annie who has no history with this show. But hey, he didn't care he never bothered to read the history of the show, the characters or their relationship to other characters. He debauched this show with sleaze, Liza's poker table sex; vileness, with David's rape, yes rape of Amanda; sick twisted cruelty with Aiden drugging a woman and keeping her from her family and having her husband think she was unfaithful.Can this be fixed? If the new head writer has talent and respects the long history of the show, and the character's integrity; if the new head writer has some morality and has felons convicted for murders, and sick twisted men who drug and abuse women get what's coming to them ; if the new head writer has talent yes, it can be fixed, but he/she must undo this vile man's destruction. I'm a believer that the right HW can turn any show around. For the sake of AMC's actors and staff (those who haven't already lost their jobs because of the relocation), I hope he or she does. A new HW has a ton of work to do, and it won't be easy. But I'll have to follow his or her progress on various websites because if ABC can't or won't strike a deal with Thorsten Kaye that makes it possible for him to work in L.A. with all his current family commitments on the east coast, it won't matter to me. My hope is that a new HW will realize how darn talented (and that's an understatement) he is and how essential he is as a presence on the set and as Zach Slater, and will push for him to show up in Los Angeles next year. With so many obstacles for a new HW to overcome after the mutilation Pratt did to AMC (and that man took a hatchet to this show like no one has ever done before), ABC and a new HW will need all hands on deck, every bit of talent, and immensely popular talent at that, to improve (I can't even say "fix" because that's too big a goal) AMC. Thorsten Kaye is indispensible with this task ahead of them, and I hope ABC figures that out and fast.

You are reading my mind. Most of your suggestions are my suggestions. I haven't watched an episode since July after they tossed my Jackson aside and put Erica with that toad, but if they do right by them than I will return. My fondest hope is that they do that "Dallas" scenario with Erica as Pam and Jack as Bobby and once Erica realizes she has had a 4 year long nightmare, we find out it's the day after J/E's wedding and they are on their honeymoon and we go from there

After watching my soaps for 30 + years, I have watched them be great, boring & just plain wrong. They seem to go through rough patches like a lot of things. It is my hope that this was just another bad time for this show & someone new will come in & learn from Mr. Pratts big mistakes & fix this mess. I also hope that whom ever learns the history of the show. I am excited, the show has to get better. Some people need to be let go & some people need to be asked to come back.

I am just so glad to see that he's gone. He has ruined what was once the daytime crown jewel of ABC. Thank God ABC still has OLTL. I would love to take over at AMC and fix all of the horrible mistakes that have been made over the past year. One being letting go of Juila Barr. Over the past year, the fans have been subjected to the entire shore revolving around Kendall, Erica, Zach, Annie and the worst of them all...Ryan. it's like they forgot they have an entire cast of talented actors on their payroll. I really could care less what happens with the whole Kendall, Zach, Ryan, Aidan and Erica storyline. Can we please re-live the glory days of AMC, when there was actual intrigue, romance and suspense? That's what I've been saying. It's going to be quite a while before we see the end of Pratt's writing. It's not going to happen immediately. Pratt has thrown history out the window to write his awful version of Piine Valley denizens. I am really hoping that the new writer does a little homework and returns to the heart of the show. Let's keep an open mind and wait for it. Maybe we'll get you back as a viewer, Paul. I miss your witty posts..

the main problem with the scrapping of stories a la flashforward/Bobby Ewing is that Actors have left roles, and contracts have been re-negotiated. TK for example. Zach would have to be killed in the tornado, since TK is staying east. it is a good idea...that way we get Stuart, Marian, and Babe back, and get rid of suckyLiza. Hell...if we really wanted to rock it.....we could go all the way back to the beginning of the insanity and unkill Dixie by having her not eat poisoned pancakes....It will not be straightened out by February, as much as we hope it to be so. May is a possibility...

The main problem for me at this time..outside of the awful writing we have been stuck with...is there few characters that interest me at the present time. I looked at the episode count for last month...Outside of Adam, the characters with the most episodes were Annie and Stuart. I am sick to death of Annie and her rationalizations for her horrid behavior and I am sorry, I don't mean to bash but Adam Mayfield as Scott is just not leading man material. And Annie and Scott have Zero chemistry so their whole storyline is dull and falling as flat as a peanut butter pancake.Nu-Liza, not interested'Randi and Frankie, not interested (Frankie is much more interesting with Madison so maybe there some hope somewhere)David-Amanda-Jake - too stupid for wordsRyan..never interested and paired with Erica - an abominationAdd to that the return of Greenlee..oh joy, only NOT,. Another character to lie, kidnap babies and steal another woman's husband that is treated like a heroine. NO THANK YOU.

Pratt focused on the wrong characters at the expense of the right ones, and when he did write for the ones people want to see, he wrote crazy, out of character storylines which strained the audience's patience, let alone interest in AMC. I was thinking about one year ago, when every storyline he wrote needed to be revamped: Amanda and JR were a couple, Zach and Reese were BFFs and getting closer, Jesse had another wife and family, Adam and Erica were a growing couple, Jake and Taylor were dating, David and Krystal were falling in love with the help of drugs. No current story on AMC was around one year ago, and no current couple (and I'm including Zach and Kendall since she was in yet another coma) was around a year ago. Amanda and Jake seemed to be created because their other pairings were a disaster. I don't credit Pratt for them or their popularity. They were rejected by him initially and then paired up with a "hey, why not?" approach to writing a soap. Zendall have survived in spite of Pratt, and not because of him. I know they have their fans, but Frandi and Brotalia aren't going to replace them, no matter how hard AMC tries. One of the main faults of Pratt out of so many to choose from was that he put newbies front and center. Scott Chandler has no discernible personality traits--quick: name one!--but because he was Stuart's son, he was made frontburner. Jamie Luner's Liza is nothing like the Liza from the past, but she's on every day or what seems like every day. There was a time when Marissa was on every day, and she's another character who has nothing distinctive about her. I couldn't describe her in a few words other than "David's daughter and JR's wife". As for Annie, while she's not a newbie, Pratt's big mistake was making a crazy woman a lead character on AMC. If he was modeling her on Kimberly Shaw, he should have kept Annie as an interesting supporting character because having a crazy, unstable woman who hasn't quite given up that title, despite suddenly being Adam's "angel" (Brooke English, did you hear that???), is not going to work on a daytime drama where you see Annie 5 days a week, doing her crazy thing. Lorraine Broderick has a chance to salvage AMC and I hope she's successful. But until I hear that AMC is going to write for Kendall and Zach (with Thorsten Kaye having signed a deal with ABC that works for him and his family), I'll sit on the sidelines and wait to see SOW's or SOD's headlines announcing his return when I'm on the checkout line in my supermarket, and wish AMC the best.

ITA.....and after reading the latest SOD about Pratt's reign of terror, for the life of me, I do not understand why Brian Frons still has a job...Pratt came in and basically told the cast to forget who their characters where and what they did before him....He refused to listen to the actors/actresses and continued with his poorly written, agenda driven garbage...All the while Brian Frons let it go on....I see no future for AMC after the move.... The show is done.... Frons hired Pratt to kill it off once & for all...Once TK/AM are gone, so am I.....I've watched this show since almost the beginning & sadly there is nothing left to watch...I feel in love with the characters of Zach, Kendall, & the couple Zendall, but that was because of TK/AM.....Pratt has left us with nothing to root for, no one to like, nothing interesting to look forward to, and not one character worth crap...LB is talented... She's a great writer, but I don't see Frons keeping her long.....and there is too much mess to fix...Who really wants to tune in to watch Erica & GL fight over Ryan "The Abuser" Lavery...Who really wants to see characters like Annie, Scott, Fake Liza suck what little life is left with this show...JL needs to go... She's just not Liza and no amount of backtracking now will work...I do love Tad, Adam, Jesse, Angie, Opal, Erica (at times), but come on... They don't even have a story...McT made Tad a murderer...... Let's be optimistic (there's that word again!) and give Lorraine a chance. Pratt had no clue what women want to watch and had a twisted view of what a relatiionship should be. Yes, I know, the premise of a soap is to show difficulties between couples, but let's get real. His storylines were waaaayy over the top and so against character. Written from a woman's point of view, the show has a chance to turn itself around. If LB does her homework and goes back to the original characters we might see something recognizable again. I can put up with the existing drivel and wait for spring and the "changing of the guard." I've stuck with it through the Pratt years, cursing it all the way. A few more months isn't too much to ask. I guess I like to perceive the glass as half full.

Personally I don't really have the stomach right now, I am sure that Lorraine deserves a chance but frankly, I am bitter enough not to care - no offense LB.

I watched my favorite soap and my favorite couple get ripped apart..seemingly simply for the joy of a truly arrogant head writer.

I listened to ABC, Frons, JC and Pratt lie to the viewers for an entire year - insulting both our intelligence and our wishes.

And then I had to hear Brian Frons tell me that if I didn't stick around, I was not worth worrying about because I wasn't a true fan... in spite of the fan I remember this show when it was in black and white.

The only reason I am here now is because TK and AM are still around. WHen they are gone..I will be also. Will I ever come back..I dunno, I know that never is a long time.

But without AM or TK, I don't think I could watch - It would be turning the knife. We have been begging for years to have better writing for Zendall...but only getting it after they are gone would just be almost worse.

When Lish comes back without TK..I am not sure what I will do., I love Lish to death..but there is no way I am going to watch some re-hash of past plots or in a triangle - or guadrangle with Ryan-Greenlee-Erica - and Kendall. I would sooner throw my TV out the window that watch that. If there was something new and innovative..well than perhaps.

I would love to give Lorraine Broderick a chance, I've watched her AMC in the past and she's a wonderful soap writer but....... with Thorsten Kaye and Alicia Minshew gone there is no reason for me to watch. Pratt rendered every other character unwatchable. They weren't too watchable to begin with but he made them downright hateful. He made Adam a eunuch by pairing him with the despicable Annie; The real Adam would never have asked Scott to stay in PV after seeing him passionately kissing his wife. He would have had him shanghaied to Afghanistan by some thugs on his payroll. Annie would be in Oakhaven by now never to be seen or heard from again. I don't want to watch this pathetic shell of Adam. I want him to vanquish Annie and Scott. I don't want to see a cold blooded murderess get away with murder or use a child the way Annie did, it's sick. It's not entertaining.Then there are the morons Jake and Amanda. How was I supposed to be serious about that storyline? What moron would allow his wife to have another baby with another man so they could be together? They told a man his baby died and threw the ashes in his face. Not only was that sacrilegious but it was debased. Just like Pratt. MEK no storyline. Beth Ehlers screwed over by Pratt and for whom? his pets Annie and Liza, two characters contributing to the downfall of this show? David ruined; Erica with Ryan? Greenlee is coming back? Who cares! Kathy, ITA....All optimism I had about AMC left the day Pratt was hired....The problem with given LB a chance is this: She isn't here for the long haul....Frons hired her as interium HW until he finds another flunky to do his bidding just like what happened with Kay Alden, dumped for the hackfest of B&E....Not to mention, the show is just a horrific mess...Hell, I just don't see how anyone can fix this...The future of AMC is in the hands of characters who are just to vile, uninteresting, sickening to watch...Annie is a cartoon.....Scott reminds me of Gomer Pyle, only dumber...Pod Adam is sad too watch...Ryass Lavery should have been gone a long time ago, but he's their romantic, lead character.....GMAFB..In an interview with DC, SL commented on the fact that RyGranLee is coming....Who the hell wants to see a triangle with Erica Kane, GL, and the biggest pig in PV......ANyone????Jamanda is a joke.... I'm going to revise my statement about not watching AMC after Thorsten and Alicia are gone. I am going to tune in one day just to read the credits so I can see 'Written by Lorainne Broderick' and know for sure that vile ba%&#ta%d is gone. After watching since the beginning I will not be watching once TK leaves regardless of who is writing this show because Brian Frons will still have his dirty little hands in it which means more of the same Ryan Ryan Ryan.I just read that LB is not going to be the HW but an associate writer and that just tells me that AMC is using her to keep viewers from tuning out while they look for another lapdog to do Frons' bidding. Well I say STUFF IT AMC I will not buy what you're selling again.SOD nice of you to finally come and say how you feel about Pratt but, again, too little too late. I wish the mags had the guts to come out and call Pratt out for how he was ruining AMC six months ago.

Kill Ritchie, stab Erica, Kill Di, kidnap Emmabot, emotional abuse of Emma, setting Kendall up, hurting Ian/Spike by keeping the truth for her own selfishness..... Doesn't pay...Gomer Chanlder: Scott is an idiot, uninteresting and horrific to watch, but he's prominent in 2010...Fake Liza: Jamie Luner needs to go....but a triangle btw KWAK/Tad/FakeLiza is just not must see TV...GL coming back... My problem with the 2010 forecast is, who are these people? Madison has only been on for half the year, and she's a killer. Why should I care what happens to her?Liza doesn't seem like Liza. There's alot of Tad and Liza history to mine, but JL is playing an entirely different character than the one I knew going back to the early '80s.JR and Marissa have no depth and it's not enough for them to be cute and married to have rooting value. There needs to be something there there.Annie and Adam are going to renew their vows? Why? Because they're on the same level as Jesse and Angie? Wasn't November's wedding enough for a couple who aren't believable despite two actors working way too hard to generate a spark of chemistry?Ryan and Erica move ahead, despite the fact that most fans don't want them to. I can't understand why, but my SOD seems to come a week after you all receive yours. It's almost not worth it to me because by the time I read what's coming up, it's already been aired. I realize a lot of people don't know where Maine is, but the Post Office still recognizes us!

And by the way if you think AMC is going to improve with Pratt gone, after last week's perfomance by Thorsten Kaye, the question should be is AMC going to fail after Thorsten Kaye leaves? That would be a resounding yes! Pratt and AMC failed to recognize the astounding and rare talent that Thorsten Kaye possesses. Instead of using that talent, rare for daytime, and the hard to come by and electrifying chemistry with Alicia Minshew, and enhancing it with good writing, they either ignored it, destroyed it and belittled it and mostly disrespected it with odious storylines and focused on the obnoxious Ryan who cannot seem to find a storyline home of his own and the smirking, despicable Annie and the bland, and fades into the woodwork, Scott. That's what AMC has going for it after TK and Alicia Minshew leave...nothing!

I would have traded them being on only three days a week for more in depth writing and for more balanced writing so I could have enjoyed the entire show again. But instead Frons, or whoever the bright and shining star is, used them as shills to push his favorites and the agenda of less than stellar writers. Now when the time came to return the favor, to support the show with this chancy move, to make sure their most popular actor and actress would be able to continue in thier parts and remain with the show, ABC, AMC, Frons or whoever have done nothing to accomodate Thorsten Kaye. But they certainly have made sure the 'real' Greenlee will be on. No she isn't all that and I for one am sick of her using AMC as an ATM machine when her primetime pilot hasn't been picked up. It's an insult to the people who stay on AMC or other daytime shows and shouldn't be allowed. But she's a good friend of Frons so here we are. They sure can accomodate people when they want, but it has to be the right people. Isn't it strange, Rebecca Budig and her cohort Eden Riegel can come and go and do nothing for ratings, but they are treated as royalty when in fact they are hardly remembered when they leave, but a respected actor who has brought AMC a much needed boost gets zilch!

I second that!!!!!!Frons bends over backwards for his little princess and his golden boy, but treats the "REAL" talent like crap...Losing TK is going to hurt AMC... big time.... Losing AM will do the same...Zach, Kendall, Zendall are amazing characters and the best couple daytime has ever seen....Frons needs to offer TK the sun, moon, & the stars like he did his pets.....I feel for the AT fans....but lets face it.... I don't think that Frons was ever that invested in him or his character..... He protects his pets, but no one else...The Return of GL is going to do what it did last time... Nothing....... No one wants to see Erica & GL fighting over the likes of a loser like Ryan... Rebecca comes sniffing around AMC whenever her wallet needs a boost and then she's off again to other things. Here's my idea for her storyline: Bring back Josh Duhamel when he's in between his superhero movies, resurrect Leo from the same river that Greenlee "died" in, give them a big "OMG! You're alive! I never stopped loving you!" scene, and then let them sail off into the sunset together. He's the only one I really ever liked for Greenlee. Chances of getting Josh back are slim to none, so maybe he'd do a cameo long enough to get rid of Greenlee. Hey, we've seen more ridiculous stories than this, no?

I think that is a huge mistake that ABC makes all the time..thinks that special appearances (well you decide if they are really special but for arguement's sake) are enough to winan audience. Rebecca Budig, James Franco, that latest rock group on OLTL -forgot their name, sorry. Special guests do not increase ratings for more than a blip..if that long..if they are not involved in scripts that are INTERESTING. People will tune in out of curiousity and see "dreck" and tune right out again. Right now, AMC is filled with one miserable storyline after another. Its going to take a lot more than ANY guest star to get people to want to watch. Junk is still junk - no matter what the packaging is. I don't if that was me or not that said this, but you're right about Eden Riegel. Pratt decimated the character of Bianca with that odious baby storyline. If the decision not to have her back came when Pratt was still HW, it was probably because the character assassin, Pratt, probably wanted to forget he wrote that odious storyline. If the new writer has a moral code, she/he will change the paternity of that child thereby giving Bianca her comeuppance and then maybe the fans will accept her again. The same goes for Annie, she needs to go to jail and disappear off the screen. What she has done needs to be punished.I am sick of her smirking face and I am sick of the actress trying to justify felonious behavior in print because she thinks she is the leading lady. I hope the new HW has other idea and reopens the gates of Oakhaven wide for her.
