As someone who watches a LOT of soaps on a daily basis and watches ATWT very closely, sometimes I just sit back and marvel at how good the residents of Oakdale look. It's the perfect combination of the right lighting, makeup, and hairstyle (as well as people who are good-looking to begin with, let's not kid ourselves...LOL).

For instance, this air week, Maura West looks fabulous. She's just rockin' the hair and her cheekbones look awesome. And Terri Colombino's curly look of late makes me wish I didn't have painfully straight and uncurlable hair! Ditto for Justine Cotsonas, with whom they also do a great job of contrasting pale skin with dark hair and eyes.

Anyone else have praise for the pretty visuals lately? An actress's style you wish you could copy? (I went through a period last fall where I wished my hair was Marie Wilson's deep shade of auburn and I actually asked ATWT's makeup artists about how to copy Kelley Hensley's smoky-eyed look.)

We're actually always looking for soap opera style features, so if anyone has questions about ATWT clothes or makeup or hair, I'd be happy to pass them on to our resident fashionistas!

As a teenager (awhile ago, lol) I used to LOVE SOD's sections on makeup and beauty. In more recent years, I hung on Catherine Hicklands (Product Queen) favorites. LOL

I do think ATWT does an OUTSTANDING job with the hair and makeup. That was never more evident than with their period episodes as well for the Royals Ball and Christmas shows.

I bid my teenage years adieu a while back, too! ATWT does a great job with their period shows, I agree.

My hair right now--it's a lot like Ellen Dolan's hair is now, very similar in the coloring, except I've got a little more brown tones in my hair. The way my hair is cut now is also similar, but I don't have the bangs. I really can't go for the long hair (like I used to have when I was in my teens) because of the loss of use of my left hand--so I have to keep my hair somewhat short. It's about shoulder length now, maybe a little shorter. However, I did have have my hair done for a wedding that similar to a style that Crystal Chappel had her hair done for a wedding episode of Guiding Light last summer (when my hair was a tad bit longer).

I'm afraid either Liberty or Allison is going to need to get her bangs cut short. During that whole opening breakfast scene with Katie, Brad, and Liberty I thought it was a dream sequence with Allison the Porn Star playing Brad's daughter!

ROTFL! You know, now that you've pointed that out, I'm not going to be able to look at Liberty and Ali without getting the heebies.

I look at Liberty and think that it's Maddie.
