Oh so he did get a new car? The point I was making was that he was begging to be in the mob while most kids his age begs for a new car. Whatever, he's a brat, he's getting on my nerves with his pathetics fits and screaming and I don't like him.

I'm not liking him either. They brat thing was understandable at first. He had just woke up & confused, but the writers have gone overboard with this. Plus adding that he wants to be in the mob at only 17 years old. You'd think they would be more worried about him catching up on his studies. What happend to teen crushes & normal teen issues? This is not a good storyline at all for for a 17 year old boy.Oh & while I'm complaining... Having Sonny say that there is nothing wrong with his 17 year old hanging out at Jakes was BS too.

And totally out of character for Sonny, who's whole thing was he was always worried about the kids & drugs. Guess he forgot that alcoholism is genetic & clearly isn't worried that his brain damaged son inherited that gene & might be tempted to calm himself with some booze. You would think they'd focus more on the year he missed. How far is he behind his friends socially. A boy his age would under normal circumstances, face alot of peer pressure. Someone who got knocked out when he was 15 or 16 is probably way behind socially. He's got to be interested in girls. It's going to be harder for him to get their attention than other guys in his group. Maybe he's more awkward with them than the other guys, who've had extra time to perfect their moves. These are the things they should be focussing on this summer, not this kid wanting to be in the mob.

Well, he should be worried about kids and drugs. Am I the only one who remembers when he got Karen Wexler, who was a young teen, addicted to drugs and forced her to strip in his club? Sonny , IMO, just plain sucks! And I agree with whoever said that him saying he did not mind Michael being at Jake's. He is a complete dumb azz!

It appears that it's just easier to write a mob story around Michael than explore all of the real issues that he's facing since he woke up from his coma. You're right, besides needing counseling, he needs to be catching up on his studies and relating again to his friends. If the most important issue he has is whether or not to join the mob, then there is a real problem with him and it needs to be addressed. It's just another re-use of a tired storyline.I thought that rumors before he woke up were that after living with the Q's he would become more like them. That would be more interesting than a Jason story rerun.

I thought the same thing. i was kinda hoping for a reverse /re-run of Jason with Michael becoming more like the "golden boy" Jason was. It would have helped to keep the Q's going. As it is now who will continue the family? Brooklynne? Ned? They are all gone. I can see Michael going to the Q's, getting under Grandpa's wing, taking over & turning ELQ into a mob front. I wouldn't like it but can see it.

I'm so glad to read all these posts. I thought it was just me feeling this new storyline sucks. Between him and Kristina I can't hardly stand to watch. Is this just some trick to get kids to watch during summer school break?

That's exactly what it is. The summer stories are more to hook teen viewers, not to entertain people over 18. The problem with that is that most teens are smart enough to see through that & would rather see traditional soap stuff, just geered toward them. They want to see things that they can relate to. Like I said, this kid missed a year of his life. Focus on the struggle any kid who's been through this would be going through. Show his struggle to fit in, catch up on his school work, normal teen social issues. If the writers no longer know what kids are into, all they have to do is read the newspaper & look on the internet. There's no excuse for this nonsense. As for Michael's living arrangements, there is no good answer. I'm to the point where I think they should send him to live with Patrick & Robin since they're so proud of their handiwork. Maybe they'll find the complete personality shift charming & endearing. I'm not talking about the anger. I'm talking about the kid's basic nature. Yes, he was a spoiled brat, but the brattiness only flared up when things weren't going the way he wanted. Michael's whole attitude now is less about reconnecting with his loved ones than it is about seeing what he can get out of them. This is not his normal behavior & it's something Patrick never said would happen. So, obviously the surgery wasn't quite the success they thought it was.

I have started FFwd through any scenes with Michael or Kristina. I'm truly tired of Michael's constant ranting and screaming. Yesterday was a classic when he was talking to Sonny and told him how glad he was that Sonny and Carly were his parents and not Alexis. Then in the next breath he starts screaming and hollering, off on another tangent. This is starting to be like Robin's PPD story which dragged on forever before she got help.As for Kristina, she's just a smart mouthed brat that needs to be settled down as well. I was appalled at the way she and Michael were talking to Alexis. The "scandal" aside, these are kids and they need to respect their elders. Alexis should not have been 'begging' for her daughter's forgiveness. Alexis explained the situation and said that they would work through it together. Enough. But what can you expect when you have Sonny badmouthing Alexis and Carly to his kids. Didn't care for Michael and Sonny's conversation about Alexis. You don't have those kinds of conversations with your kids about their mothers and stepmothers. But then again, it's all about Sonny.Where does Sonny think he has a say about Michael going to live with the Q's? I don't remember Carly legally giving him back custody of Michael.

This comment is about teen viewers. I watched as a young teen until now. We didn't have teens on the show back then. Laura / Genie started at the age of 14 & she is the youngest that I remember. Maybe I'm not remembering someone else? Anyway, we they did start bringing teens on that was fine, but they had teen stories. This is not a teen story. I'm not seeing girl/ boy drama, should I or shouldn't I have sex drama. There is parent drama, it's mob related mostly. Teens being drawn to the show to be glamorized by the mob is not good. Kristinas issues with her mom is the only thing "real",

I agree. And i also do not like disrespectful kids, but I thought Alexis deserved what she got from the kids, especially Michael. I am tired of his other antics, but he was right about everything he said to her, never letting Kristina in his life. But Kristina, I jsut look at her and her scowl and am really not interested in anything she is going to say or do. I just do not care. I find her very annoying.

Yesterday was a rare moment for me to like Michael. He was right on it. No matter how scared Alexis is/was of Sonnys life, Michael & Morgan should have all been allowed to be close. I felt so bad when he said he was never invited to birthday parties.

That upset me too. What the writers gloss over is Michael didn't have a lot of friends when he was growing up. It was one of the reasons he was close with his much younger siblings (6 & 7 years younger). Alexis did seem to be punishing Sonny through him.As for Kristina being angry at her mother, I think she has a right. I think her blow up at Alexis is something that's been building her whole life & the public reveal of Alexis' thing with the mayor was just the final straw. Why else would she be so upset about Alexis sleeping with a married man? It's not the first time. If Alexis hadn't slept with a married man, Kristina wouldn't exist! Let's not forget, even if the writers did, that Sonny & Carly were married when Alexis slept with him. I think that's part of why she's always kept Sonny & Kristina apart. She's held a resentment that he chose Carly (a much less educated, sophisticated & intelligent woman) instead of her. In any case, Alexis did deserve what she got from both kids. If she wasn't always looking down from her ivory tower on everyone else, sticking her nose in their business & passing judgement, maybe I'd feel they were out of line. But, somewhere along the line, she decided that she was the boss & everyone had to fall in line. She had Kristina's life planned out from before birth & deliberately lied about her paternity & that lie nearly cost Kristina her life & did cost Sam her one chance at having a child. Kristina was supposed to be a clone of her. She's even got the kid scheduled to go to the same college as her. She can't even pick her own school! On a related note, I haven't seen any sign of her preparing Kristina for her biological routes being made public. All she told her was it would probably get worse before it got better. I think she should give Kristina warning about that coming out, especially if Kristina doesn't know that Sonny & Carly were married when she was conceived.

Has anyone else noticed that Michael hasn't asked or talked about any of his friends. Are we to believe that a 15 year old (he supposedly slept through his 16th year) didn't have any friends or aquatances(?) even from school. That is the age that friends start to be more important and influential than the parents.

When Dylan Cash was still playing him, he only had one or 2 friends & I think they were the children of other gangsters. I think he mentioned one time that he didn't have many friends because their parents are all afraid of Sonny. Carly's mentioned it at times, as well. He did do well in school, got good grades & played sports, but as I said, I don't think he really had any friends, which I think is why he's so close with his sister & brother. But he should want to make an attempt. I don't understand who gave the kid the idea that 17 was old enough to make his own decisions, especially in light of the fact that he still has a 15 year old's mentality. I don't see either of his parents letting him think 17 is old enough to decide that he's going to be in the mob & wanting to drive without a license? No kid's going to jeopardize that, especially when a sports car is the prize. There is another possibility which actually makes sense. Michael's always been very smart (too smart) & very crafty. It's possible he's decided that he could use this injury to his advantage. Maybe he's deliberately doing all these self-destructive things to get himself into some kind of legal trouble. This way, having a "legitimate" job, education, etc. would be taken away & Sonny'd have to hire him. That is the way Michael thinks when he wants something. Very AJ.

Crafty is the word I was searching for. All in all though I don't believe that a boy of any age would act like he is acting, maybe after a while but not right away. He's been awake a month or so, and yet there are no questions about what has gone on in PC? the people that are gone, the ones that are new etc? All in all I am very disappointed in this story line. There was plenty of time later for this, he needs to recapture what he can of his missed childhood.

Yet another time the writers were in a hurry & sloppily rushed to write a story they didn't think through. I've never seen a coma story on any soap I've watched where the person waking up wasn't curious at about anything that happened. Even now, after eavesdropping on Sonny & Jason talking about why Michael shouldn't live with him & them both mentioning they didn't want him around Claudia, he hasn't spent any time at all trying to figure out why they don't want him around her. After all, Sonny's married to her & expecting a baby with her. The real Michael would be dying of curiosity. They're making a point of showing all the personality traits he inherited from Carly & AJ. That is one trait they both had & he inherited it. He should be trying to figure it out. If they wanted to write a dangerous situation for Michael to be in, why couldn't they have written something like that? He starts questioning & snooping & either finds out the truth about his shooting or about Claudia's involvement with Dante. It would be more in character than this nonsense we're dealing with now & more interesting, as well.

New subject along these lines. After today, I'm waiting patiently for the next time Michael knocks that brat, Keiran or whatever his name is, on his butt again. THAT is an annoying child. Spoiled brat & probably what Alexis thinks is ideal for Kristina. He's supposed to be her "boyfriend" & he treats her like crap. Michael looked at her like she was nuts when she went on about the snot's supposed good points. I think he finally realized she needs to be protected from herself & I think he's going to hurt that brat when he gets her into trouble.

I think after today, Michael should tell Kristina that if she continues to date that brat, that he's not going to be around her. I want him to tell her that being around Keifer isn't good for him & that by constantly calling him names, Keifer is disrespecting Kristina & her love for her brother. Michael should tell her if she wants to be with a guy that has so little respect for her that he insults her family (he also insulted her father), that she deserves what she gets & walk away from her. I think that's about the only thing that might get through to her.

Or at least tell her not to invite him to join them when they make plans. If she wants to see that jerk she just doesn't have to bring him around Michael. Kiefer acts like he is jealous of Michael being around Kristina, which is just plain crazy.

Makes you wonder what goes on in Keifer's family that he's got those perverted thoughts. I don't think Michael & Kristina have anything but brother/sister affection. Now that they made them so close in age, it's obvious that they've always been close friends. He has a right to not have to hear that idiot call him names. Yes, you're right. He should tell her if she insists on dating such a moron, that she shouldn't bring him when the 2 of them have plans. He should tell her that Keifer refuses to meet him halfway by at least cutting out the insults & that it's obvious he has no intention of becoming friends with Kristina's brother. Then, he should tell her that as a result of Keifer's attitude, he can't be around him & that it's not good for his recovery to be around someone who aggravates him that much. He should remind her he can't even be around his mother because of that & she's a breeze to deal with compared to Keifer.

It's a repeat of the Jason story when Taggart constantly called him "anger boy". Taggart was using it as a tactic to get Jason to blow up so that he could arrest him. Keifer has no reason other than just being mean to the bone.

I actually think it could turn into a good stpryline based on Kristina's comments. She told Michael that she was with him becuase he was a senior, good looking, and popular and that he was paying attention to her. Teen angst at it's best, if it is written well.I agree however that Michael should tell Kristina that Keifer isn't exactly all he is cracked up to be.

Kiefer has gone from bad to worse. Today after Kristina said no he slapped her. I really hope she has enough sense to 1- not see him again and 2- not tell Michael about it because he really doesn't need the trouble. She should tell someone though. I don't think either of her parents, maybe Claudia, Kristina seems to think she's cool or Jason in which case Kiefer will need some new drawers.

Yeah, Jason, not Michael. Michael will beat him till he's dead & end up in jail. Jason can effectively scare the crap out of him & if the guy's stupid enough to think his money & family name will intimidate Sonny's top enforcer, Jason should take Keifer for a scary ride in the truck he uses to dispose of people & the final destination should be meeting Kristina's father. Then, he can see Sonny in full whack job mode. Shooting the tv mode. Then, have Sonny give Keifer the choice-leave Kristina alone or Jason shows him where he dumps the bodies of people who mess with Sonny's family. And, it should be videotaped so Michael can watch Keifer whine & grovel like a scared five year old.

LOL. I like the videotape idea. Kind of reminds me of that documentary they showed some high school students called "Scared Straight". It was a documentary of some inmates talking about what it's like to spend your life in prison. I think a scared straight documentary by Jason Morgan is just what Kiefer boy needs. Either that or Dante should catch him in the act of dogging Kristina and then he can scare the shitz outta him. I kinda like the Dante idea better. jmo

Either Dante or Jason either will do. No one must have ever said no to that boy and he thinks daddy's name and power allow him to do and say anything he wishes. He needs a good azz whipping to bring him down to earth. And maybe get Kristina some pepper spray or a taser and when she says no she means it. Can you see it. Daddy she tasered me cause we were in her bedroom and she wanted to but I didn't. Yeah right

I can't see her running to Jason since she doesn't care for him too much. I think she'll run to Dante first which is who I'm hoping she runs to or either he runs into her getting dogged by Keifer and he gives Keifer the scare of his pathetic life.

New topic re: MichaelI only really liked 2 things in today's episode. The first is Steven's return in the form of delicious Scott Reeves, but that's for another thread. The 2nd thing I loved was Jason sailing into Michael. He put the fear of God into that boy for a little while. What he said was a long time coming. If it had been said when Michael was younger, maybe the kid wouldn't be the mess he is now. So far, he's the only adult in Michael's life who has a clue what he needs. Carly's almost got it, but neither Jax nor Sonny is handling this right. They're making it a pissing contest between them instead of trying to figure out how to help the kid. What Michael needs is to be scared straight about the reality of life in the mob & I'm not talking about being the son of the boss. I'm talking about working his way up the way Sonny did. The beatdown by overzealous cops & rival thugs. He also should have to endure getting shot someplace where he'll actually be concious and feel the pain. He's at the point where either that or a padded cell is the answer. If not, he'll end up not like Sonny, as they fear, but like Anthony.

Jason was soooo awesome when he lit into Michael's azz. It was like a verbal good old fashioned butt kickin. You know, the kind some of us used to get before it was renamed 'child abuse'. Yea, thats what I'm talkin' bout. And when he told him he was acting like a stupid biotch I thought I would pizz on myself it was so enjoyable. Oh I guess I must have rewinded it about, oh say 13 times. Steve Burton certainly deserves to be nominated for an emmy for that scene.

Yes, he does. I hope Jason keeps it up, too. He needs it. I also hope he's willing to go up against Sonny if he has to. For all Sonny's talk, I think Sonny secretly wants Michael to follow in his footsteps. I think he wants to sit back & watch Michael's life go so far down the toilet, the only way to protect him will be to bring him into the business. I'm curious. Is Michael still 17 & isn't his birthday somewhere around New Years'? If so, they don't have much time before he's able to legally do whatever he wants. I still think the only way to bring home the reality of life in that business is for him to experience all the terrible things people in that life experience. He's been sheltered from all of it & I think a little dose of the hardships Sonny endured as he made his way up to Godfather might wake Michael up better than a shrink.

When he first started this bout of "I want to work with dad," stuff, he said "In a few months, I'll be 18 & you won't be able to stop me." He hasn't said it in a while which made me wonder if they decided to change his age again. He's driving & NY (where Port Charles is supposedly located) to get a license you have to be 17. If he's that close to his 18th birthday, they'll just have to let him learn the hard way. I think they've coddled him enough. Let him deal with the consequences of being a thug. Let him spend some time in jail. That skinny kid wouldn't last a week in there even if his dad is Sonny Corinthos & his uncle's Jason Morgan.

Anybody else think Michael is acting like a complete a** lately? Is he still going to high school or did he quit school to be with Abby? It's one thing to defend her and to believe in her innocence, but he's being completely ridiculous. His hormones must be raging, 'cuz he hasn't been the same since he and Abby did the deed. :(

He is more out of control than ever and the constant rage issues are getting old and stale.  The one thing I find really ridiculous is that everyone has told him why they don't want him in the mob, but like his mother, he knows better.  And what would be accomplished by his going to work for Johnny?  Johnny(and his crazy father), Jason and Sonny are enemies.  So Michael goes to work for his father's enemies?  What happens when the s*** hits the fan and a war breaks out?  Is he going to kill Jason and Sonny or are they going to kill him?  Someone needs to think these storylines through before they put them on the air.

That's the thing. If this was a real mob family, Sonny wouldn't be sugar coating everything he says to Michael & neither would Jason. They'd tell him, "Here's the deal, kid. You go to work for Johnny, truce or no truce, he's my enemy. If you work for him, you become my enemy. You know how I treat my enemies. Do you really want to be in that position?" And in real mob families, Sonny would be willing to back that threat up with action, however painful it might be for him. He also would've already sent a warning to both Johnny & Anthony & it wouldn't be verbal.

Of course, even the Sonny of five years ago would've made this whole frame up a moot point because the minute he realized how important Abby was to Michael, she would've had bodyguards & Brandon wouldn't have gotten anywhere near her. Even if by some chance she didn't have guards & Brandon beat her badly enough to put her in the hospital, either Jason or Sonny would've killed him by sunrise the next day.
