I will tell you how to fix the whole Ryan debacle. Don't watch. I just read the mags, and it keeps me up on the story.
I haven't like Ryan for years.
AMC really missed the boat by not having him realize his love for Annie, and really screwed it up by not putting them together.

Now, it's only a matter of time before we are all singing "Annie's got a gun"

This is nothing against Cameron Mathison..I think he makes a great host on the talk shows, emcee circuit..and he is a nice guy but really, Ryan is just a waste a air time. Stick Ryan in a storyline and it becomes ridiculous. Why Kendall should be fawning over Ryan AGAIN..forgetting or excusing all the miserable things is beyond ridiculous. Having her push Rylee...with both partners MARRIED to others makes her the cupid from hell? GReenlee is happy..or says she is. But Kendlal has become the ambassador for Rylee..over the welfare of her own marriage? I mean come on Mr. Pratt, do you think the viewers dont' remember? Because we do..All I see if Kendall being regressed, Zach being considered an almost murderer, wlling to turn on his brother in law, and happy Greenlee giing up her happiness because of conflicted feelings. And worst of all..Annie has been turned into a raving lunatic so Ryan has permission to walk out on his responsibilities AGAIN so he can announce the true love of his life AGAIN..to the third person in a year. Ryan has become a joke..and the idea that I would take any of his feelings seriously is a bigger joke..and to have Kendall riskign her own marriage to support this "wonderful friend" is the biggest joke of all..sadly, the joke is on the viewers.

Kathy, ITA...CM is a great host and from what I've heard, he's a nice guy..The problem is, IMHO, TPTB at AMC can tell the difference between Cameron and the character he plays, Ryan, one of the most loathed characters on daytime..I really believe that Frons & Co think that because an actor is popular or well-liked that the character they play will be recieved the same way. In some cases that might work, but not in this one, due to the writing for Ryan over the last 4 years...The destruction of Ryan being the minute they went with Rylee 1.0...They turned Ryan into an emotionally abusive monster and pushed the limits by turning him into someone who emotionally, psychologically, and physically abused the women in his life with no conseqences for his actions..I hated Ryan's emotional abuse of Kendall. Then, he teamed up with Greens to continue the abuse all with a smile on their faces and it was all Kendall's fault..Then, they went with IAMTHATMONSTER story, which to be honest, was an amazing idea, but they failed to follow through and the ending decimated Ryan forever.Ryan was cured because Jon got the bad cut out... Only they continued to write Ryan as a self-righteous, self-absorbed, hypocrit who continued to emotionally, psychologically, and sometimes physically abouse..and it's all the woman's fault.The worst part for me is seeing his victims never allowed to call him on his crap and kick him to the curb.Kendall was Ryan's biggest victim. Yet, here they have her obsessed with Ryan... IMHO, this is a cop out and lazy writing..They could have done a million things with Zen's story, but they went in the wrong direction.... It's all about Ryan again.Ryan's abuse of Greens is another thing that is disgusting. He told her to get rid of their child, pushed her against a dresser when she was pregnant, yet, she still wants him.Battered Women's Syndome.... That is what Kendall and Greens have when it comes to Ryan..Add to that, the fact that Ryan changes loves of his life faster than we change our underwear and you get a character that no one wants to see anymore..First, RYan loves Kendall, then Kendall is just a soulless cancer, unworthy of love, and he can't imagine how he could have ever loved something like her. But, he feels he has the right to tell her what to do and control her life.Then, he loves GL only to abuse her, fake his death, etc...Then, he loves Kendall again, then Annie, then amnesia and he loves Kendall...Now, 3 months later, he loves Greenlee...Ryan has become a joke and a disgrace to AMC...Not only is he a joke of a character as the romantic lead, but a disgrace the Disney/ABC/AMC push him as a hero, when the large majority of women who watch the show see him as an abuser....I feel for Cameron, but the writers continue down the same road..His victims must always love him.... He never pays for his abuse....and we fans, for the most part, FF through all his scenes...Ryan's time has come & gone.... He should have never come back after going off that cliff...AMC should cut their losses and Cameron should get a hosting job because he's great at that.... The writers will never be able to salvage the character now...JMHO...

Great post Kathy and Mrskaz. I don't even think Cam is that popular since he fails to bring in any ratings. Even during DWTS he didn't do a damn thing for the ratings. The only thing he's good for is lifting his shirt.What really pisses me off is the way they have Kendall talk to Zach. He punishes her, controls her and wants her to be a Stepford wife. GMAFB. I think that's Ryass. Then they have Kendall believe Zach's a murderer and she must turn to her hero Ryass. I love Zen but after that I wanted Zach to just tell Kendall to go be with Ryass. Terrible writing and it's hurting Zen. They can't have a story without this guy in it and Kendall can't see what a loser he is. She wakes her little boy to go out in a storm to see this guy who hasn't seen his kid in weeks. He's a great dad. It's not like he's busy. He's been cleaning his motorcycle and dreaming about Greenlee. If this is Pratt's idea of good writing well he's in the same league with B&E. As long as the center stories around Ryass the show will never go up in ratings. They have the talent of TK wasted on babysitting duty.

I had my comments clipped about Cam's acting style. In retrospect, I realize it is the writing that is lazy. Lazy writing tends to make lazy actors. These stories are soooo bad that the actors feel it, and it is written across their faces. Just look over at GH. I agree that Cam is not all that popular. ABC shoved him down our throats one time too many. ABC is trying to groom him as a superstar, when in fact he is not. David Canary...superstar, Anthony Geary...superstar...Eric Braeden....superstar, Erika Slezak...superstar. You get my point. Cam does not have that 'it' factor, and that is one of the things that makes watching the whole Ryan/kendall/Greenlee unbearable.If they want 'it' factor, they need to look harder at their ranks.

Let's steer this thread back to its stated subject, please: "What did Ryan Ever Give Kendall..." This isn't about Cam (who, I can assure you, truly is a nice guy in person.

OK...Will do. What I think is that we are all on Ryan overload. The character needs a break. If the give the whole Ryan squad a supporting role in other stories, it would probably go a long way to dulling the uproar.At least we are talking about it.

Writers, please use your brains. Get Kendall some help in leaving others alone to solve their own problems and get her back to her marriage with Zack and also be a more attentive mother to her boys. Let Greenlee enjoy her marriage with Aiden and ignore Kendall's interference. Maybe Ryan could come to his senses and act like a mature man and work out his problems. There are a lot more characters who have good storylines, lets have more of them. Thank you.

I heard someone suggest changing the name to ALL RYAN'S CHILDREN. OMG...... This cracked me up and scared the daylights out of me at the same time...For some time now, many of us have wondered when Frons will have the writers bring the rest of Ryan's sperm donations to PV...... and just because I can't help myself.... It never made any sense for Ryan to be Spike's bio-dad, other than the fact that Kendall must be tied to Ryan for life to give him a story..If you remember the Madden story, he liked to play god and pick who would make great parents.... He never saw Ryan or GL as good parents, so WTH would he not have destroyed Ryan's sample...I'm praying for the day that we find out Ryan is not Spike's bio-dad... He knew it from the time GL left, but decided he knew what was best and appointed himself the bio-dad of Kendall's unborn child so that he could control her for life....When the truth comes out that Ryan knew and changed the DNA test, Kendall will finally see what a low life he is, kick him to the curb, and Ryan will leave PV in disgrace, never to be seen again..... by way of that cliff...If only the writers had the imagination we fans do...!!!!!

Ryan Sure has some swimmers, huh! Next thing we know is that Petey & Colby will be his.!!
