Hi Bree&JedYeah, collaboratives are harder than writing solo, IMO. My boyfriend and I have been working on one for 5 years. It's romance with a twist - we have a couple who keep getting sent into different lives/eras with the purpose of finding their soul mate each time. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Each story is threaded together with reflections of the experience from their different points of view. Sometimes we agree where they will go next - other times... not so much. LOL
omg I bawled at the end of the Time Travelers Wife omg It was so sad!
That sounds like something I'd read. It might help us write if we lived in the same state. She currently lives six hours away. Which can kinda suck. Wine, my mom read that book and balled too. She really likes his books.
Any one else read Danielle Steels Kaliedoscope holy crap that one got me too!
That's a good story - and we almost died when we first read the synopsis, thinking someone beat us to the publishing punch - but then we realized he was living one life. Our characters are living lives over and over again in different time periods (it starts in Ancient Egypt) - although eventually the male character (who is a god) decides he's learned what he needed to learn and they stop traveling. (for awhile, anyway lol)
Nice... I haven't read that particular book by Danielle Stell, but I loved Accident. I still have it somewhere too.
Im not normally about sci fi type books but latley Ive been dying to read anything yours sounds very interesting my only thing with TTW was that it got confusing at points with Henry and how we could be in two places at once and lol it took me 3 times to realize future Henry married Clare!
LOLAndy and I lived on oppisite coasts for 3 of those years - and really, some of the best work we did came from when we had a long distance relationship. I'm thinking it's because our characters were always trying to find each other and be together. (that didn't always happen - there is one story where they find each other but never get together and another where they get together briefly and then one of them dies. LOL That's part of their learning process.
lol the one Im writting Im just gonna throw this out thereit started out with the love story of Joan and JT who end up divorced after 13 years of marriage and a murder of the town harlot brings their love back to life but the clincher is how every single person wanted a reason for her to die so JT married Joan thinking she killed her but from what Joan knows she married him beacuse she thinks he seen her sister kill her lol well thats enough Im ranting lol
Our story doesn't have the confusion Henry's has because its definitely time shifting together. See the god fell for his temple handmaiden. However, when he makes her immortal and then starts complaining about the mess humans make of their lives she gets mad and says it's because he has never been humanl. Bam - he decides to find out what makes them do the things they do and drags Neturka along for the ride. LOL
Oh I get it... there's a murder mystery wrapped up in the motive for getting married. Cool idea!
Awesome! I like the sound of both stories! Bree and Jed's (Yes, Bree and Jed) whole reason for fighting the vampires is to keep there daughter safe. She has something the vampire's would want. Of course, some of the books in the series will be love stories between the vampires.
lol the main plots was all the secrets we actully find out thata wife caused her husbands death accidentlythe harlot had 2 children that wernt fathered by her husbanda Dr was over prescribing pillssomeones husbands gaythe harlot has a twin sister who drove her husbands first wife wacky lol and lastly an older womans paternity comes into play as well as why she cant have children
awww they both can move through time I like that!
do the vampires have powers
exactly Rich! But at first, she thinks HE is the only one with things to learn, but they both end up learning things along the way - that's why we have the reflections thread all the stories together.
Hee hee, the tag line that opens the synopsis for the publisher is "What do you do when your creations are more of a mystery to you, than you are to them?" LOL
do you guys wanna share your opening lines lol Im game
Ooooooooo Bree&Jed, I like your plot!
They do. Our big bad guy for this book is kind of a magey vampire. We also have a vampire that has visions of the future. The poor thing is very easily manipulated. We have vampires that can sneak around in shadows. Some that have a connection with animals. Some that are like Sirens and can use their voices to do things.
Sirens as in Greek Sirens? That is a fabulous idea!!
loves it Sunny I expect an autographed copy lol my back cover paragraph is my first line 'There are three things you need to committ a perfect murder, 1) an in with the intended victim 2) trust.. not only with your in but with yourself aswell as your instincts and 3) a saftey net... I of which had all three"
like the sound of it BreeandJed! lol so are the vampires like a coven or are they like free lance lol
We wrote the first chapter twice. The first time round it was something like, "Jed watched as the head of the vampire that stood over him rolled to the floor." The second time round had to do with Bree walking into Jed's apartment and finding it all bloody. We had to take a break from writting do to some real life issues. So, it's been a while since I looked at the chapters. I think we have three of them. Maybe four.
lol I know I hate that I had this story going on I ended up writting like 60 pages and it feel apart because in a way the muse was gone due to other things
LOL, well our first line comes from the god Ra as part of his "musings" Imagine if you will the days spinning backward: a millennium ends here, a century turns there, a year ends now, and another, and a thousand others, and finally there are so many days, so many years ending and beginning that you can no longer remember why it seemed important that you keep count of them at all. And yet I have counted them.
omg why is this book not done yet lol I want to read it!!!!!
Think more along the lines of a society. There are two groups. Each group has a head honcho in each town in the world. We made our own town. One guy is a japanese warrior who has a lot of honor, Hiroshi. God love the man, he's a stickler for the rules. The other guy is... Well, he's an odd duck. His name is Jack. Jack embraces modern times and likes to climb the ladder of success, although he comes acrossed as a bit of a slacker. They each have a place where their 'society' can go that is a place of peace. Hiroshi's people believe in living as quietly as possible so as to not be killed. Jack's is more of a, "We are better then you and if you try to hurt us we will slaughter you," type of group.
LOL RichIn the story I am doing alone, I had written like a mad thing for weeks, and the end of the last chapter I wrote was an emotional rollercoaster for the characters. So after days of taking care of a dying character, the two main's went to sleep. Then I went to sleep. I haven't waked them yet because real life set in. LOL
hmmm sounds interesting!!!! lol dosent sound scary LOL
lol thats what happens to me I watch something or listen to a diffrent music and I march off in a new direction ahahah
Oh B&J, that sounds great! Does Hiroshi follow oriental philosophies then? What a wonderful paradox!
wow this made me read all my old stuff I was rather comical if I do say so myself LOL I wrote this short story about this girl Gina whos a gossip and she knows the gossip exactly 1 hour and 7 mins before everyone else would and I wrote after she found a scoop
Hiroshi is purely my friend's doing. The way I understand him though, is that he holds honor above most anything else. He's extremely old fashioned.
OMG! That's great! Hahaha!
hahahahaha thank you omg the sad thing was Gina was spot on wither Mindy(my cousin) ahah the tag line for that one was "Dont fear the food, the jocks, Gym class, they only thing to fear is the sound of nails hitting a key pad"
Damn it Rich, what have I told you about posting funny stuff like that when I am drinking my diet pepsi?!
Sadly, I have to go do some actual work now. You guys have a great night!
awww come back soon BreeandJed!!!!

Rich, I think this was an awesome idea & let me start off by apologizing for my post in the Boring Week thread about it being a YR board, etc. I shouldn't have come off so rude & I want to apologize for that.
