Warren Buffets Port Charles

Warren Bauer is a man on a mission: He is hell-bent on getting revenge for the death of his beloved son, Kiefer, on GENERAL HOSPITAL, and he doesn’t care who gets in the way. Bradley Cole (ex-Jeffrey/Richard, GUIDING LIGHT) outlines the nature of Warren’s marriage, and why Sonny should not risk making an enemy of Warren.Soap Opera Weekly: Is Warren at all concerned about antagonizing Sonny Corinthos?

Bradley Cole: Oh, I don’t think he’s afraid of making an enemy. I think that he is considering doing whatever he can to make this guy miserable if Sonny even thinks about getting involved in any way that can affect him.

Weekly: What can Warren do to protect himself from Sonny?

Cole: Oh, he could do anything he wants to Sonny. From a business point of view, he could put Sonny completely out of business. He could put him behind bars. He could do worse than that — and I’ll just leave it at that [laughs].

Weekly: Can you describe another contentious relationship — the one between Warren and his wife, Melinda?

Cole: This is a very cold marriage. It was a marriage of convenience — maybe not political convenience, but she was definitely the right person to marry. He felt obligated. Not because she was pregnant, but because she was probably politically the right person for him to marry: She was the right class and had the right schooling; they’re both well-educated. They love each other in a very sort of “crusty,” upper-class way.

Weekly: How did Kiefer fit into the family?

Cole: Kiefer was their pride and joy. He was the star athlete that was going to carry on the legacy. He was their golden boy, and now they’re both very, very upset that he’s gone.

Weekly: Kiefer played the key villainous role in this dating violence story, and now that function seems to have fallen to Warren.

Cole: It is a very heavy [subject], and it’s something that affects so many people out there. That’s one of the things that attracted me to play this part, and I’m happy to be a part of telling the story. I hope that it can help people by watching this dramatically unfold; seeing what the consequences are, and how people are affected, not only in the story but how it relates to them in real life.
