Cararn.... Great post..The only thing is you forget Ryass Lavery...So much Zen time was wasted on giving that vile character a story.....Zach was damaged & Kendall was used so that the most loathesome character in daytime had something too do...What a waste....Well, lets see how screwing over their "REAL" assests work for ABC now...The loss of TK & AM will be seen big time.....and Frons pets will not be able to do what AM/TK did for this show....
Cararn, I completely agree with you about Alicia Minshew and the contribution that her amazing talent has given AMC. She along with TK and their extraordinary chemistry have made Zach and Kendall IMO the super couple of AMC. They have been used and abused to carry the weight of characters that in no way had the strength to stand on their own without propping, as well as some of Pratt and Frons' favorites.....Greenlee, Ryan, Liza, Annie, Reese etc. None of these characters were viable on their own without being tied to Zendall's apron strings and frequently at the expense of Zendall's great potential for s/ls that did not have to involve triangles or infidelity. TK/Zach and AM/Kendall given good creative writing have the potential, together as well as individually, for s/ls beyond the drudgery of contrived and boring plot driven soap writing and more in line with character driven stories of Primetime.
Last week Alicia Minshew was lauded as "performer of the week" by Soapnet for her portrayal of a kidnapped Kendall protecting her mother's life from her obsessive abuser. Her performace was riveting and gave viewers a realistic glimpse into the terror of a hostage situation. AM was indeed amazing in her role and thankfully received recognition for it. Losing TK and AM, AMC IMO will take a big hit in the loss of a significant portion of the existing audience, because none of the stories or characters that are projected for 2010 have so far much audience appeal. Perhaps a new writer will work miracles, but given the choices that ABC Daytime with Brian Frons at the helm has made in the past, I don't hold out much hope.
Diva, this right here is the problem in a nutshell... Quote:Perhaps a new writer will work miracles, but given the choices that ABC Daytime with Brian Frons at the helm has made in the past, I don't hold out much hope. Brian Frons is still at the helm, still calling the shots, and still making the worst decisions that hurt the show, instead of help it...Instead of doing whatever he could to keep the most talented actor in daytime, Thorsten Kaye, he craps on him....stonewalls, plays hardball, and lets him go....All the while, spewing in print that he would do whatever to get RB back... RB has her fans... Not saying she isn't talented, but the character of GL is no assest to AMC.....and she is definitely not in TK league....Frons agendas are killing ABC.....Someone higher up needs to step in.... Get TK back when AM comes back.....and give them a s/l that doesn't involve propping the likes of Ryass,. GL, Fake Liza..No more third party crap.... No more fake affairs, cheating, comas....How about dealing with danger side by side....fighting the bad guys together...Sure, they should have angst, but not 3 freakin years straight and not angst that is done for the sole purpose of giving lesser, unlikable, unwatchable characters a story...Time will tell, but my guess is that AMC will sink fast without TK/AM.....but that's JMHOYou know what.... I want to thank Whoopie and Carolyn Hinsely for speaking out about TK...... Thank you, thank you, thank you...
I have so little interest in AMC's move to California and its subsequent stories, I didn't bother to record The View. This is the first I'm hearing about Whoopi's comment. I'm very glad she spoke up. Mayor Bloomberg can pretend to be fascinated by AMC all he likes, and the remaining cast can cheerlead with their pom poms all they like. If there's no Zach, and no Kendall for a long time, there's no me. I'm not naive enough to believe that AMC will fall apart without Zendall, but their absence won't help a show that has far too many problems to mention. And the thought that Annie/Adam will take Zendall's place as a great romance is nuts. When AMC won't show the audience ONE love scene between Adam and Annie after 6 months of them being a couple, you know that even AMC has its doubts about their popularity and future. Contrast Adam/Annie with JR/Marissa, who have nothing but love scenes, since Marissa has no personality and their main obstacle is a terminal disease. Pure plot-driven junk.I'm also not too eager to see David's next plan to have a woman have sex with him, now that he's tried drugging Krystal and sabotaging a car to get Amanda to sleep with him. That's how AMC spells ROMANCE.Thorsten Kaye hasn't just been a lead actor--he's been a romantic lead actor and half of the most popular couple AMC has had, and his absence will be incalculable, but it'll happen without me.

I second that...But, I will disagree with you on one thing.... Quote: TK has helped keep AMC afloat for over a year with his amazing talent, while the writing of the now fired Charles Pratt was sinking it to ratings bottom TK has been instrumental, alone with AM, in keeping AMC afloat since the day they started....If not for TK/AM/Zach/Kendall/Zendall, I would have left after the Dixie debacle....I certainly would have been out the door after Crash or midway through that s/l when GL was made the victim and her victims spit on....AMC has made a huge mistake letting TK go.....and they will feel it big time..Instead of Frons catering to his pets.... he needs to get off his backside and show respect to the "REAL" talent on this show.....If he can give RB the sun, moon, & stars.... offer CM whatever he wants.....then he damn well can make consessions to TK......I'm out of AMC the minute TK/AM are off my TV screen and I will not return until I hear they "BOTH" will be back...Letting TK go is just another slap in the face to the actor and to the masses of fans......It's also more proof that the inmates are running the asylum.....that needs to change...
