Star-Studded 3rd Annual Indie Soap Awards

Indie soap awards

The New World Stages in New York was filled with stars from GUIDING LIGHT, AS THE WORLD TURNS and the ever-growing world of Web soaps at the 3rd Annual Indie Soap Awards. Colleen Zenk (ex-Barbara, ATWT), currently in rehearsals for Marrying George Clooney, was sad to be missing the ATWT festivities in The Netherlands, where the last episode of the beloved CBS soap aired February 21. "It looked amazing. I looked at a lot of video. They were wild, those Dutch fans. It looked like it was so much fun. I got all kinds of Facebook messages from the Dutch fans saying 'I wish you were there. We miss you so much.' They are saying they want to do another reunion next year. I would love to go over and do my show over there," Zenk said. GL's Frank Dicopoulos (ex-Frank), Michael O'Leary (ex-Rick) and Signy Coleman (ex-Annie, GL; ex-Hope, Y&R) enjoyed an impromptu reunion, with Coleman at the event for her Web series RIVER RIDGE, that airs on SFNTV.com. "Signy called me out of left field and she said this would be a great thing for me to come to. She knew that I had some shows that I produced," shared Dicopoulos. Patrika Darbo (ex-Nancy, DAYS) was there to support her Web project, MISS BEHAVE, which stars Jillian Clare (ex-Abigail, DAYS). "Web series give older actors who haven't had the opportunity to play one kind of role and younger actors who are just coming along [a chance]," Darbo noted. Zenk's play Marrying George Clooney: Confessions From a Midlife Crisis runs from February 29 through March 24 at the Cap21 Theatre in New York.
