Quote:Wow Maggie, I am glad that someone finally stated the fact that these are FICTIONAL characters. I love the ACTORS Thorsten Kaye and Alicia Minshew. I believe that they could carry any storyline. I could care less if the WRITERS of this FICTIONAL story change the direction of their relationship. It just means seeing the ACTORS use their talents in new situations. Nothing is more boring (or shorter lived) than a happy couple in soapland. I'm sure we all know these are fictional characters. AM and TK could read the phone book to each other and it wouldn't be boring. These two are so adept at comedy, light romance, etc. Of course it can't be happiness every minute, but they never get a moment's let up from the angst. We want some fun, some warmth, some joy. We are beaten down and exhausted by this never ending pain and misery.
I am sure no one hear is asking for hearts and flowers all the time for Team Slater and we all know these are fictional characters. What we are asking for is a storyline that is CHARACTER driven and not PLOT driven...something that makes sense to whom the characters are. You don't think that the actors want a good script with an honest believable storyline?
This whole SPERM storyline is no more character driven than last year's Kendall sleeping with Aidan two seconds after coming to believe that her husband might have actually been dead. Both episodes have NO relevance to the characters as they are being presented at this time.
It's like Pratt (and the Bears wtih Aidan/Kendall) took an element of someone's character maybe 5 years ago and ignored all character development and growth and pulled a storyline out of the air for quick ratings and for shock value.
I am sure that TK and AM would make reading the phone book interesting..they are that good. However, it's not what I expect to see on AMC. Neither is this shambles of a storyline.
Quote:This whole storyline is too ridiculous and too plot orientated to even talk about seriously. Repulsion is a good word for this.I agree Kathy. I think what bothers me most of all, is Thorsten and Alicia will be left to repair the damage done to Zach and Kendall. By the time this story plays out, they will be completely destroyed and left to try and pick up the pieces if their relationship, while Reese, Bianca and the actresses who play them come and go as they please, get national media coverage that helps further their careers out side of soaps and the loyal ones who remain behind get, what? A recycled story with Ryan in the middle. It's amazing that after all these years, giving Zach and Kendall a solid marriage with some sort of payoff is never a priority for All My Children. They have the bird in the hand with this exciting couple yet are always trying to break them up for two in the bush. Don't they know that a bird in the hand is always worth more than two in a bush?
