I don't get it either. Seems like Mr. Lavery is the be all, end all of men in PV. It is rather frustating to see him coddled and treated so fragily for behavior that most other guys are vilianized for. Exactly what makes the guy so special?

I suggest not racking your brain over that one, because no reasoning viewer can figure that one out. Only the writers' twisted pens seems to know. Why any woman would choose Ryan over Zach boggles my mind.

Well it is such a subjective and personal thing , what one finds attractive so I`m not surprised we see things differently .How dull life would be if we all liked the same type .Ryan has had myriad gentle moments when he protected Kendall and defended her .I love that she still cares about him .

For me it's not even a matter of choosing Ryan over Zach or visa versa. What I don't get is why TPTB insist on having everyone woman in PV see Ryan as Superman.

I don't get it either Sarah This Ryan is the bestest crapola makes me sick. He definetly isn't any wonderful prize.

The only people imo who think that Ryan is portrayed as some kind of hero , are those who dislike him and are peeved that he is still a front burner character after 10 yrs on the canvas .

Kendall has said Ryan has apologized to her " more times than I can count" . A hero wouldn`t have things to apologize for .Neither would a hero break down at his sister`s dead body and tell her he had failed her all her life . I think Ryan told Erin then that she was his hero .

Imo no male character comes off well in an all action s/l . They suddenly become a pI like Tad or are inexplicably co opted on to pV police force and allowed to trample over crime scenes and discuss evidence

I like Ryan in this s/l , particularly seeing him so horrified at his casino tape footage . He is showing a lot of self analysis about who he was and what went wrong with his relationships .

I much prefer him in this quiet , vulnerable self refective state than watching him chase down psychpaths with Zach .

I love your banner Amanda . I `ve always loved Aidan . I love that they let him add in his own little " Britishisms" ( some of which are considered pretty rude in the UK) I think he has been best with kendall . Aiden Turner seems to come alive in scenes with Alicia but I am warming to his character and Greenlee as a couple .

He is the reason I watch AMC... and I agree about him and kendall they have some great chem. I really loved him with SS's Greenlee, but I think given the chance this Ailee could work too.

I just can not abide how women act like such IDIOTS because of him. PInky swears? Are you kidding me? It's all so high school. They want Ryan's attention even though they know it might jeapordize their relationships. It's so ridiculously immature. I almost threw up yesterday when GL excused his fist in her face - 'he had a lot going on'OMG! The message this show is giving out in horrible.

But Ryan refused to let her take any of the responsibilty for his actions . He apologized unreservedly and the next thing he does is try to cut her out of his life as he`s so appalled at what he did . I like the way the s/l is making him confront his breakdown and make him see for the " first" time what a low point his life took him too .

You are absolutely right. This show's constant need to glorify the abuse of women and promote the abuser as the "hero" is disgusting. What kind of message does this send to all the younger viewers? I for one, have been complaining about this for years, not that it has done any good.
I remember when AMC promoted family values and featured cutting edge social issues stories along with some beautiful love in the afternoon. Now it seems all they want to do is promote violence and turn every story into another chance to promote an abusive character as the hero. I am so sick of it I could hurl.
