The interesting thing about this analogy is that on the show, David is treated as the bad guy and Ryan is treated like a good guy when they are both big bullies.hho shows up with a gun pointed at his ex-wife, someone he used to "LOVE" (whatever that means in Ryan's vocabulary) but has a mental illness..it's not like he is rescuing Emma from danger..he has already has her safe.. Run Kendall run..it won't be long before Ryan turns on you when the mood strikes him or he gets in his self-righteous mode? If they wind up making Aidan the bad guy in this....not that I have been crazy about how they are writing Aidan and how TPTB have again screwed up a potentiall interesting pairing for Aidan (not that I am even a big fan of Aidan but puleeze, another Ryan prop we don't need).

Kathy, ITA...I love VI and I love & love to hate David..I don't like Pratt's writing for David anymore than for the other characters..David does bad things, but he never would push a women...>JMHOThe thing is, like you said, Daivd is called a bad guy...Ryan on the other hand makes me sick. TPTB call Ryan a good guy, hero, saint, savior of women....THey also shove him down our throats, in every story, and destroy great characters to prop his character...Ryan has abused all the women in his life, but the women are at fault...Not RyanEven now, he's abusing Kendall, using her, but it's all Kendall's fault...I now hear that this story will not be about why Kendall is acting the way she is? Why she is doing what she is doing. The story is going to be about why Ryan is doing what he's doing..... No one cares why Ryan is doing what he's doing....but we do care why KEndall has changed.....but Ryan will take over this story..They need to remove Ryan from PV...>Give us all a break. He fits nowhere and there is no story left to tell for him, but they refuse to let him go.David can be fixed, but you need the right HW for that and AMC doesn't have that...JMHO

I was very upset when they brought David back, but that is one great actor. David just ticks me off getting away with everything. Ryan is heading down a dead end road. He acts like he's perfect when he doesn't come close. Pulling a gun on Aidian & Annie is nuts. Ryan seems to forget he has kids most of the time. HEck Zack has been more of a dad to Spike than Ryan. Kendall & Rayn give me the creeps together. Years a go I liked them together, but then, to me the developed more of a brother/ sister love. yuck!

Sorry, I disagree. David has drugged dozens of people with his self-manufactured drugs, attempted murder more than once, has run rampant in the hospital abusing his authority, which he gained by blackmail, (and by the way, where the heck is the hospital board during all his machinations??) manhandled his wife, terrorized Amanda, and now he has stolen Adam's medication (and I'm assuming replaced it with placebos) . . . . shall I go on? The best writer in daytime couldn't convince me that he can be "fixed," and if he could, he still would have to lose his medical license and go to jail. Last time David was in Pine Valley, he lost his credentials at PV Hospital because of his illegal actions and got off scott free. Now, he's back and running the hospital that fired him? Nope, DI is a good actor, but his character is beyond any credible redemption. I can't wait to see who gets killed next month!

He could get in a accident & have brain damage to the areas of his brain that make him to evil. He could become someone "new". He really is a great actor it's just that David is overboard evil. It's too much for me. Thats what they did to Jason on GH.

Ok my post is flip flopped. The comment about Jason should be after "new". And to add to that what I mean about Jason, he had brain damage & became someone new. He was a total different person.

They tried that once before with Jonathan Lavery. The tumor on his brain was making him psychotic and he did some evil things, including murder. When surgery removed the tumor and made him sweet Jonathan again, the fans were in an uproar. They just wouldn't buy it. They still called him an evil murderer even though his actions were out of his control. I like Jeff Branson and I liked the post-surgery Jonathan. I was really sorry to see him written out because his character was no longer palatable to the fans. Giving David a brain injury and a memory loss would not "fix" him, either.

I'm along time fan & I loved it when they did the tumor thing to Johnathan. I hate it that he's gone. I think your right about David for the simple reason that he's been this way for so...many years. If that had been done as soon as he cam back, it might have worked due to him being gone for awhile. The other day I was hoping Jake would snap & shoot him.

Ryan absolutely disgusts me. I'm sick to death of this hypocritical character. He is not good, he is not noble, he is not prince charming. He's a manipulative, selfish, conman. There is nothing rootable and likeable about him. The more he is on my screen, the more I want him gone.Once upon a time, I really liked Aidan - now I'm indifferent to him. With that, I'm not at all happy about how Aidan is being written and that once again, Ryan is on his high horse, while Aidan is pushed into the mud. If Ryan cared at all about his daughter, wouldn't he want her mother to get well? Of coursse not, Ryan doesn't think about his children, only himself.I love Vincent and Dr. Dave. I was thrilled to learn that he was returning to AMC. Sadly, I am incredibly disappointed in how David's been written. He is flawed, he has a mean and evil streak, but he has a heart, he is vulnerable and there are aspects of this character that are wonderful. This story though makes David cartoonish and I'm sick of it. It is a waste of Vincent's talents and complete destruction of this character.The only times I've enjoyed David are with Zach, Kendall, and Ian - and Erica to an extent. That is when I see the good that is in David. And, VI, TK, AM are amazing in scenes together.With a competent writer, things with David could turn around. Ryan on the other hand, cannot be redeemed in my eyes. I want this character off my screen completely.
