Wouldn't it be great to have Sabine Singh return as
Greenlee when Rebecca Budig leaves? Do you think she would return if offered?
No, let her leave and never come back. They botched up her return with an unprofessional and ill conceived marketing campaign and never redeemed her after she committed the crime of kidnapping. Pole dancing, making plays for your best friend's husband and turning her into a goody two shoes Mary sunshine killed this character. She needs to go and I cannot wait until she leaves. Spring is too far away for me.

As for Greenlee leaving Pine Valley...Let me quote my mama after a martini or three: BUH-Bye....with the gentle wave of a hand!!
I wouldn't mind seeing Sabine come back as Greenlee. She did a good job with the material she was given. I doubt she would come back considering how poorly she was treated. Rebecca will always be Greenlee, but she isn't irreplaceable. Greenlee is a great character. We shouldn't lose the character because Rebecca is leaving. There are good actresses out there that could make a great Greenlee.I think AMC should recast Greenlee!
I hope they recast Greenlee! Rebecca is choosing to leave. The character of Greenlee shouldn't leave because Rebecca is leaving. I enjoy the character of Greenlee, and think there are tons of actresses out there that can play Greenlee just as good as Rebecca.
I think it's going to be a major endeavor to write out Greenlee with Kendall in a coma and all the tangents that storyline has started. But some pub said the part would not be re-cast.
Greens is supposed to be on canvass until early spring, so, we'll see. Everyone is talking like 'Becca cannot be replaced...and to be honest, she can be. The actress has not even come close to the staus of a Susan Lucci/Dierdre Hall/Genie Francis. She can be repaced, and I hope they do.The character of Greenlee is central, even when she is off-screen, so why close the door on possible story?
If Sabine Singh has any self respect, she would turn down any request to replace the "real Greenlee." Since Rebecca is touted as the only real Greenlee, I suggest that they allow Annie to kill her off and just be done with it. Then when Ms. Buddig finds herself bored or in need of a little spending money, she can't pop back in for another few months on a whim.

Sorry Maineiac, I do not wish to see Ms. Budig or any other supposed fan favorite return on a whim. Case in point, Eden Riegel's current return has been anathema to her and AMC. I cannot wait for both of these actresses to leave.
cararn, I think that's exactly what I was saying. Budig decided she'd like to come back for a while, so she got Singh fired. Now she's had her fun and wants to leave again. I was saying the writers should kill her character so she CAN'T come back again.
I don't think you can put this squarely in Budig's shoulders. That's easy to do looking in from the outside. Remember that there are agents and all that jazz involved. I am sure everyone kinew the score when they made the decision. The folks ion charge handled it poorly. They not only ousted an actress that was growing on fans (Singh), they ruined the popular actress that originated the role, and made her and the character universally hated.
I agree Paul.....and obviously they have not learned because they are doing the same things with Eden Riegel.
The AMC people feel that if you stick a popular actress from the past in a current crappola situation, the audience will overlook the bad stuff in order to embrace the returning actress.
So in one year, we have two characters/actresses that have been fan favorites and we have watched their popularity being turned into distaste for a good many fans...and we still have storylines that make no sense and do not reflect the history of the returned actresses/characters.
And now Colin E. is coming back as Josh as another character I no longer recognize in order to forward a plot that makes little sense.
I don't get it. It really does not seem to be so complicated to me..and I can't really understand why AMC keeps going on this path of destruction.
It would have been so easy for TPTB to save the Greenlee character, and the eventual reuniting of Rylee and saved the Billy Miller character of Ritchie (who I personally loved). Since they were going to have Annie turn into a fruitcake, why couldn't they have written her as the bad seed that Ritchie wanted everyone to believe she was. That would have been an awesome s/l. To have her pull the wool over everyone's eyes, even Zach's. Melissa Egan has really found her stride as "wacko" Annie to the point that I will hate to see her rehabilitated. If she was bad to begin with then maybe the Greenlee and Ryan reconnecting would not have seemed to harsh. Anyway, I think they are going to kill off Greenlee and give Kendall her heart. Then she will be the eternal heroine of AMC.
Ten bucks and a doughnut says they botch Greenlee's death. If she really does die, which I am sure will happen as well, then bringing Mary Smythe back, is important. It would be great if they could have the death scene, and then the afterlife scene where Leo could come to her and they walk into eternity together. If they wanted to, they could probably get Josh to film one day. How bad do they want it??

No, let geenlee leave! I never liked her from the start until they put her with aiden! Now that is screwed up who cares!
