Not that I don't think that this story has been terribly written but I'm not sure how much of those bad ratings can be attributed to the Reese/Bianca wedding and the Zach/Kendall/Reese/Bianca story. All soaps lost substantial viewers last week and Thursday and Friday were among the worst days for many of them. That being said if viewers were more invested in Bianca and Reese's relationship and a lot of people didn't already know ER was leaving there may have been better ratings. A lot of Bianca fans didn't want to see them get married which says a lot about how badly they screwed up what could've been a good story.

Friday's are notoriously bad days for ratings, but they promoted this event like crazy with both actresses talking out the wazoo on everything from CNN to Entertainment Tonight and random pop up advertising on various websites. 1.8 is pathetic and it just shows people are not interested in the lesbian love story and considering how BOTCHED up it is, I'm not surprised. For one thing, it's not a lesbian love story but Confused Widdle Reese Whiner who really wants a man and plays the perpetual victim in things.I blame Reese more than anything. They shove this unlikable character down our throats, throw pratically every other character under the bus in a very lame and unsuccessful attempt to make her look better and what do they get? A 1.8 rating.

Well just for the record. I didn't watch Thursday at all and I onlywatched part of Friday..but not the wedding. I fast fowarded through ALL of that. I only watched part of Friday to catch TK and AM work their magic together. I don't care that Zach and Kendall were fighting..Zen fighting is more romantic than any meaningless marriage of two characters I care nothing about.

And that's not because I didn't want to watch a "GAY WEDDING" I have personally been to a number of gay weddings and each one was moving and touching. I would have applauded a REAL gay wedding. But this was not a gay wedding..this was just another day in the travesty of this whole storyline.

On Thursday, I was not going to be forced to watch the Reese and Zach kiss..another plot point that again made NO sense other than for the sole purpose of giving Ryan a storyline..at someone else's expense. I had seen the obnoxious kiss so many times in the promos that were shoved down our throats all week..that I refused to watch it when it counted..ratings wise.

The wedding day..I couldn't care less about Reese and I hate this reincarnation of Bianca..so why bother.

1.8 AMC got what they deserved. They have lied about this storyline from the start and it wound up kicking them in the butt. Boohoo. I am usually a half full kind of girl...I bend over backwards to give someone the benefit of the doubt. But not here..not now. No way.

AMC is getting what they deserve in the ratings. The stories and writing are terrible. Characters are being written out of character and sacrificed for plot driven crap. Pratt needs to do the right thing -- RESIGN! If Pratt doesn resign, then the TIICs better fire him soon before the destruction of AMC is final and it is too late to save it. The talented and hard working actors/acresses/crew don't deserve this, and neither do the viewers. As you can see from the ratings, Frons, the viewers still cannot be trained!There was no ground breaking lesbian love story (and spermgate should never have happened), and it seems that most of the characters involved in this whole debacle of a story have been sacrificed in the name of the character of Reese (who is receiving more airtime than some of the regular cast members who I would like to see in some good stories). It seems the internet message boards are not in favour of this Reese character, and yet she continues to be crammed down our throats by Pratt. I support gay marriages -- what I don't support is being lied to that it was suppose to be something big and great. There is no joy, happiness, romance, love, adventure and family unity left on this show. It is now become doom & gloom, angst after angst, death and continued destruction of the characters. The ratings continually show that what AMC is writing/producing is not working for the viewers. Someone at AMC should get out Doug Marland's 10 rules to soap writing and start applying them to AMC!And because it can't be said enough -- Mr. Pratt, it is definitely time for you to go (and take some of your less talented merry band of writers with you).

And Frons needs to go too. The buck stops there and with Anne Sweeney, who allows this entire travesty to continue. So many beloved characters sacrificed at the altar of Reese, a newbie that no one cares about. I watched those two days merely for the glimpses of Zen--TK and AM always knock it out of the park. But I'm glad with all the promotion, the public proved they are not interested in plot-driven, OOC garbage and we cannot be trained to like what Frons thinks we should--Ryan and Reese to name two. We had to lose lovable, talented, cute Josh, and yet Ryan and Reese are shoved down our throats.

The ratings tell the story....the groundbreaking lesbian love story was a disaster from beginning to end, because IMO it was never meant to be what was promised to the audience. I believe that it was nothing more than a bait and switch by a head writer who used it to for his own agenda to introduce a new pairing that the audience just was not willing to accept and it most certainly was not a gay pairing. The kiss between Zach and Reese was promoted beyond all reason and rather than watch, a lot of people tuned out this OOC plot driven crap that was being shoved down our throats and decimated one of the most beloved characters on the show, Zach Slater.I felt cheated that AMC promised one thing and gave the audience something else. They insulted members of the gay as well as the straight communities. A socially relevant issue was treated with disdain and insensitivity and AMC got what they deserved.

There is no romance, no love in the afternoon.... The characters we love and root for are destroyed for useless, unwatchable, hated characters such as Ryan, Reese, etc...I want to see AMC survive, but looking at the stories heading our way this Feb/Mar/April, I just don't see anything getting better...Reese the supposed strong, independent lesbian who is actually a weak, whiny, needy, clingy, mess of a not so ground breaking lesbian will dominate the show, while Taylor, Jesse, Angie sink into back burner status..Ryan will once again be shoved down our throats with Kendall as his forever victim lapdog.. wash, rinse, repeat..So what if Bianca comes back and Reeks rides off into the sunset... The damage is done and no one cares..With the possibility of losing TK/Zach.... Why bother...AMC needs to make some drastic changes, starting with the very top...A new head of ABC daytimeA new HW who has a clue about writing character driven stories, not plot driven character destructive storiesand A new EP who doesn't insult the intelligence of fans and push us away...Get rid to the useless characters and focus on what works....JMHO

But what bothers me is that tptb will interpret those poor ratings as the fans not wanting a same sex storyline on daytime instead of the real reasons...a loathsome character, Reese that was shoved in our faces day after day; making Bianca a supporting player in her own sl; and the damage done to the character of Zach, who never should have been in this storyline at all. If they wanted horrible Reese be confused then have her be confused, scared, worried and unsure just like any heterosexual would be when faced with a life altering decision. Zach wasn't needed and the baby should not have been his. They just went overboard and in so doing destroyed what they were trying to accomplish..next time...keep it simple.I have been very vocal about the damage done to Thorsten Kaye's and Bianca's characters. I have not spoken very kindly about the character of Bianca and I will not renege on anything I said about her, I am not a fan, but....Binaca is a legacy character and she was made into a second string player in this so called same sex storyline. She was tossed aside so the writer could concentrate on his pet project Tamara Braun, to play Reese, the most horrible and loathsome character ever to come to PV. Eden Riegel got robbed in this sl for a temporary player that no one wants or likes. So now she is going to come back and they're going to have a happy ending? Why? No one cares!
