Digest: So, with the story that’s playing out now, fans are really mad at Chloe.
Bjorlin: Yeah! It’s interesting because people kind of really understand Chloe, or they totally hate her. There’s a lot of hate, though. As Nadia, I have to not judge. You can sometimes read stuff and be like, ‘Oh, my God! Chloe’s going to do what?’ I think you just have to find what it is she’s really seeing in all of this. She’s just thinking about the child in this case. Maybe she’s not making some of the best decisions, but I’m also trying to think as somebody who just had a baby herself; your hormones and your emotions and everything are so heightened that you would do anything for this child that you just had. And if you really think that your best friend’s making some bad decisions and it’s going to hurt this kid, you’re going to do something about it even if it hurts you along the way.
Digest: Did you think it would be so divisive for the audience when you first read it?
Bjorlin: Maybe I thought there would be more sympathy and then I was like, “Whoa!” I can really understand both sides. I like the fact that it’s so controversial, in a way. It’s fun to be a part of something that people are really debating over and feeling something about.
Digest: Are you sure she isn’t just getting back at Nicole for the flesh eating bacteria on the face stunt from 2005?
Bjorlin: I think she’s always going to be subconsciously upset about that. Yeah, that’s the funny thing. How have they been friends over these years? The crazy, crazy stuff that they have been through together and been so forgiving of, is this the final straw? We’ll see.
Digest: Chloe has certainly become an outcast in Salem.
Bjorlin: I feel like Chloe gets no love. There’s a lot of people hating on Chloe. Especially last year. It was funny, Wally Kurth [Justin] would joke with me, like, “Why do I hate you all of a sudden? We’re all like, ‘Chloe, you suck.’ ‘Chloe, go away.’ ‘Chloe, you did this!’ ” Why am I the bad guy all of a sudden? I try so hard, nobody loves me, nobody even likes me, nobody wants to be my friend, I can’t get a date to save my life. What am I, a troll from a cave somewhere?
Digest: It’s Ghoul Girl all over again.
Bjorlin: Yeah, it’s Ghoul Girl all over again, but with less lovin’. I’m like, “Hey!” I couldn’t possibly have any fewer love interests at this point.
