ONE LIFE TO LIVE

Monday

John saw blood on the ground outside Dorian's and jumped in the pool to rescue the floating body. He turned it over and came face-to-face with Talia, who wasn't breathing. She still had a knife in her stomach as he dragged her out and checked her pulse. Fish came running over and John pronounced her dead.

Schuyler walked in as Stacy was tossing a bag of blood into a medical-waste bin. He asked what she was doing, and she lied that she threw a tissue in there by accident. Stacy told him to stop prying, and Schuyler pointed out that she was overreacting. Stacy was even more irritated when Schuyler noted that Rex is not her boyfriend and more like her "bitch."

Roxy got tongue-tied when she said out loud that it's not Stacy's blood that's saving Shane. Gigi was so upset that she didn't pick up on Roxy's error. She explained that she made a promise to God that she would give up anything if Shane could get better. Roxy urged Gigi to just come clean with Rex about Stacy's blackmail. They visited Shane along with Rex, and Roxy told Shane that his mom is amazing and would do anything for him. Nevertheless, Shane asked to see Stacy. Roxy promised to find her but gave his parents a little time alone with Shane. Rex pulled Gigi into a hug as they watched Shane nod off.

At the diner, Charlie seemed distracted as Viki talked of Shane's bone-marrow transplant. She said she was happy to have Chloe's christening take place amidst such woe, like Matthew's accident. As she talked of Nora and Bo helping their son through his recovery, Charlie asked if that's why Clint was "all over" Viki earlier. She admitted to feeling a friendly closeness with Clint because they share children but nothing more than that. Still, Charlie said he felt like second string and was jealous when he saw Clint's arm around her waist. When Viki assured him that she's with Charlie, he asked why they're not living together then. Viki asked him to come to Llanfair, but he was hesitant about living at her home. She assured him that wherever he is is home to her and it would be their home. He agreed, as long as he could bring his CDs.

Roxy went to see Stacy and gloated that she's lost her leverage with Rex. Gigi asked Rex if they could speak privately and was about to tell him what's going on when Shane went into distress. Stacy peered in as Michael tended to Shane, who was complaining of stomach pains. After the scare, Michael assured Rex and Gigi that they're managing his pain and his fever. Stacy crept up behind Gigi and told her to take a break. She dragged Gigi into the hallway and reminded Gigi of her promise to God.

John pointed out the KAD ring on Talia's finger, which Fish noted was supposedly in the evidence room. With Zach in lockup and John's prints on the knife that stabbed Blair, Fish had to ask John if he killed Talia. At the PD, Bo and Nora were discussing John when the mayor stormed in wanting to know if John had been picked up yet. Just then, Fish called Bo with the tragic news about Talia. Knowing his friend is innocent, Fish gave John a chance to run. Marty begged John to take him up on it, but John opted to face the mayor, who arrived and instructed Fish to arrest John.

Roxy wandered into the clinic with a bottle of champagne and drunkenly told Rex's father that she got what she needed and never has to see his face again. Suddenly she was being choked off-screen. She called for a nurse and claimed that the patient lunged at her throat. The nurse accused her of drunkenly imagining things. "It's alive," Roxy seethed. The nurse refused to believe her; Roxy told her to watch her back. Schuyler crept back into the room where Stacy tossed her blood and removed the bag. Roxy returned to the hospital to find Gigi looking solemn as Rex and Stacy fussed over Shane. Stacy told Rex she hopes her blood wasn't the cause of Shane's problems. Outside, Roxy asked Gigi what happened while she was gone. Back at the clinic, the nurse remarked to Rex's mystery dad that Roxy is crazy, then walked out. The shadow of an arm rising was seen on the wall.

Tuesday

Bo called Cristian into his office to give him the bad news about Talia. He explained that he'd already informed Antonio, who was on his way to Llanview, but asked that Cristian take care of letting a few other people know.

Marty was shocked to hear that Nora planned to throw the book at John even though he's clearly innocent. "Sometimes bad things happen to innocent people," she remarked with a deeper undertone. Téa paid a visit to John to discuss his case, while Zach listened in and occasionally offered commentary. John didn't even understand what motive the cops think he has. He and Téa pondered who could be framing him and naturally thought of Todd, although Téa clearly had her own agenda. She offered to represent John and assured him that no one would know of his arrest until Talia's family members had been informed of her death. Little did she know, the mayor had just released his own statement announcing that John was picked up as the KAD killer and would be treated without any favoritism from the Llanview PD. While being transferred out of the jail, Zach made a crack about Marty still being hot and John nearly strangled him.

Dorian came rushing in to La Boulaie after seeing cops all over the yard and asked what was going on. Ray revealed that someone had been killed on her property. Dorian said she was planning to visit David in L.A., but offered to stay behind in the wake of the crisis. Dorian picked up on some bad vibes between Langston and Lola and took Langston's side when she explained that Lola has been trying to steal Markko. Ray defended his daughter and asked Markko to back him up that Lola apologized already. Markko claimed that Lola tried to kiss him in the kitchen at the Buenos Días and at the dance. When When Ray didn't support his daughter, she accused him of treating her like a child, then ran out of the room in a huff. Once Ray and Dorian were alone, he recalled his own attempt to take something, or someone, that wasn't his.

Over their first meeting at the rehab center, Rachel managed to convince Cole that she's the right person for his case. She was tough with him as they sat down to discuss the requirements of his program, pointing out that if he doesn't succeed he'll end up in jail. She explained the side effects of withdrawal, which may seem worse than they really are. When Cole asked how Matthew was doing, she reminded him that they can't discuss that in treatment. At the end of the session, Rachel opened the door to leave, and Lola was standing outside smirking at Cole. Just as Langston and Markko were at home wondering how far Lola would go to get back at them, Lola blabbed to Rachel that Markko helped Cole pass his drug test.

Viki dropped by Todd's office and pleaded with him to stop messing with Téa's emotions. Todd was shocked to hear that Téa had been consulting Viki on her personal life. Viki explained that Téa grew up without a mother and can speak to Viki anytime she likes. As they continued to trade barbs, Todd was suddenly overjoyed about something on the news wire. Marty visited John, who shared that he doesn't think Todd is the one framing him. Téa crossed paths with Nora, and was disturbed to hear about the press release. As she ran off to do damage control, she came face-to-face with Todd.

Layla called Talia and got no answer, then threatened to "kill" her if she didn't get home soon and walk the dog. She chased the little pup around and was rude to Cristian when he showed up at the door. He explained to her that he has to tell her something, but when she heard that Talia was dead, she went into total denial. She ran off with the dog but returned shortly after, recalling that Talia named the dog "Aziza," which was Arabic for "beloved." She sank to the ground in tears, and Cristian comforted her. At the morgue, Bo pulled back the sheet over Talia's face as Antonio stood before his beloved's corpse.

Wednesday

Layla was devastated over losing her friend and wanted to watch a video of her and Cristian with Talia. At the morgue, Antonio managed to remain calm while discussing possible suspects with Bo. After hearing that John doesn't think Todd is framing him, Marty angrily accused him of defending Todd. Later, Antonio visited John and said he knows John didn't kill Talia. He urged his former colleague to hunt down Talia's killer and shook his hand before leaving. After the guard let Antonio out and locked the cell, John looked down at a single key in his hand.

Todd and Téa got dirty in the courtroom, like really dirty. Afterward, Marty was truly disturbed to walk in on Téa fixing her makeup and Todd kissing her shoulder. She knew what had just happened and fired Téa as her attorney. Todd ran after her and tried to apologize for what she saw, but she said she doesn't care what he does and the elevator closed door on him. Back in the courtroom, Téa felt a hand on her shoulder. She yelled at Todd to stay away from her, then turned around to face R.J.

Lola tattled on Cole about Markko covering up for him. After seeing how much Lola was upsetting Cole, Rachel ushered the teen out and asked Cole to be straight with her. Cole claimed that a paramedic gave him a painkiller after Zach knocked him out at Todd's and that's why he couldn't pass his drug test. She tried to scare him straight by noting that prison is the hardest place to kick drugs. But she offered him one more chance, giving him a ticket for a random urinalysis. Moments after she went back to her office, Cole summoned the strength to hand his stolen pills over to Rachel.

Over at La Boulaie, Langston was worried about what Lola is capable of and advised Markko to watch his back. Markko headed to work, and ran right into Lola, who basically told him the same thing. She then breezed past Langston and Starr and shot them a super evil look as she went upstairs. Later, Starr shared with Langston that she feels there's still something between her and Cole but told her friend not to get too excited. Ray expressed his deep regret to Dorian for trying to go after a married woman. Just when Ray was asking why Dorian keeps making excuses for not going to see her husband, David walked up and said he'd like to hear her reasons, as well.

Thursday

Dorian was elated to see David at La Boulaie and dismissed Ray so she could be alone with her handsome hubby. She claimed to David that nothing's going on between her and Ray, although he is attractive ... and more available to her than David is. David accused her of not supporting his dream, but she didn't think pitching a hemorrhoid cream was the sign of success. He pointed out that she must have feelings for Ray, because otherwise they'd be able to work this out. She didn't necessarily deny it, but observed that the long-distance thing is hard for her. They both lamented that their timing is off, and agreed to end their marriage. Dorian assured David that they'd "always be David and Dorian," and they hugged good-bye. Before taking off, David told Ray to take good care of Dorian. Ray promptly asked her out on a date, which she accepted.

Lola listened from the top of the stairs as Langston and Starr talked about the prom. Starr went to the kitchen, while Lola revealed herself, hinting that Markko's about to be in big trouble. Cole showed up at the diner to warn Markko about what happened with Lola. At La Boulaie, Ray scolded Lola for acting out, while Langston phoned Markko to warn him. Markko knew that Lola already blabbed to Rachel and assured Lang that things are fine because Cole is there right now. Lola apologized to Langston in front of her father but Langston blew her off. At the diner, Langston was thrilled to see Cole and Starr sitting together, but Markko told her not to bother them and that they were talking about something pretty heavy. As it turned out, Cole and Starr were discussing what might have happened to their baby. Markko delighted Langston with two tickets to the prom.

Rachel explained to her mom that a job just opened up at the treatment center and her leave of absence in Chicago is indefinite, so she wants to stay in Llanview and help out her mom any way she can. When Nora learned that Cole is Rachel's patient, she wasn't too happy, but Rachel assured her mom that she's not going to take it easy on Cole. Lola suddenly ran in yelling about how Rachel didn't do anything after she revealed that Cole lied about his drug test. Once Nora heard that, she was livid, reminding Rachel that she has a legal obligation to report anything Cole does to violate his agreement with the court. She left her daughter with a warning.

At the courthouse, Téa asked R.J. help zip up her dress, and he caught on that she was just with Todd. She denied falling for Todd again, and claimed that she's interested in Ray Montez. Todd, meanwhile, headed to the hospital to inform Blair that he's going to use John's arrest to win back his kids. Outside, John grabbed Michael from behind and told him to be quiet. He explained that he broke out of jail and needs his brother's help. Michael got John into a surgical disguise, and Blair was thrilled to see her husband walk into the room after Todd's visit. She wasn't too happy to hear that he was on the lam but understood how important it is for him to find the killer. He gave her a passionate kiss and managed to slip out before Bo could find him.

Todd returned to the courthouse to find Téa looking chummy with R.J. He walked up and linked arms with Téa, noting how it's just like old times. Téa gave R.J. her "private number" for Todd's benefit. Afterward, Todd announced that John escaped from jail, which gives him the leverage he needs to get custody. John, meanwhile, sneaked into his apartment to retrieve his gun, and found a knife sticking out of a photo of Marty.

Antonio went back to the morgue and bid farewell to his lost love, while John unlocked his cell and slipped out of the jail.

Friday

John was disturbed to come across a photo of Marty hanging from his closet door by a knife. He removed the knife (with a towel, of course) and grabbed the photo. Just before some cops stormed in, he slipped out the window. He brought the photo over to the Palace to warn Marty. While they were talking inside her room, someone wearing a bell hop uniform was holding a knife. When another room service cart came around the corner, the person stepped away from Marty's door, but broke in once the coast was clear. Marty and John, however, had split.

At the Angel Square Hotel, Fish ran into Kyle, who inquired about the "KAD Killer." Just as Roxy was talking to Kyle about "the patient," Rex walked up and asked what patient she was referring to. Roxy lied that they were just talking about Shane's surgery being a success. Gigi jumped to conclusions when she saw Rex carrying flowers for Stacy, but he explained that they're from Shane for Stacy. He pointed out that Gigi seems pretty jealous for someone who's taken up with another man. Rex stalked off, and Roxy asked Gigi why she hasn't yet told Rex about Stacy's blackmail. She explained what happened when she was about to, saying that it was a sign from God that she shouldn't break her promise.

Stacy called out for Schuyler to bring her some ice cream and he produced the blood vials he recovered from the hospital. He asked whose blood Shane really got, and Stacy lied that those were just extra blood. Rex delivered the flowers and Schuyler watched as Stacy feigned excitement upon hearing they were from Shane. While Stacy was putting the flowers in water, Schuyler started asking specific questions about the bone-marrow procedure. Rex didn't really understand what Schuyler was babbling about. Meanwhile, Roxy made a pretty convincing argument for Gigi to come clean, so she got up the nerve to tell him. She rushed upstairs but when she got there, Stacy and Rex were embracing in the hallway. Stacy glared at Gigi, who slowly backed away. Roxy talked to Morris the beaver and for the first time ever, he talked back and suggested that she pull the plug on Rex's dad.

Jessica ran into Jared at the diner and was mortified to hear that Natalie went to confront Brody. Jessica headed to the Angel Square Hotel and passed Gigi in the lobby, stopping to give her a dirty look. Upstairs, Natalie was chewing Brody out for hurting her sister. He tried to explain that it's complicated, but she didn't want to hear it. Just as Nat was saying, "You have no idea what you've done," Jessica walked in and told her to stop. Jared showed up shortly after and dragged Natalie out of there, while Jessica insisted on staying. Later, Jessica was on her way out of Brody's apartment when Gigi came running up and urged Brody to tell her everything. Jessica tried to excuse herself, but Brody insisted that she stay.

Cole started to go into withdrawal at the diner, and his symptoms grew worse when he and Starr were at the hospital lab. They asked Kyle to perform a DNA test with the lock of hair from their baby. Starr explained that their baby died right after she was born and they believe their was an error on the autopsy. A DNA profile might give some indication of a genetic predisposition to a disorder or illness, Kyle noted. Cole was crawling out of his skin and had to step outside for a minute. While Starr was asking how long it would take to get the results, Kyle flashed back to Natalie asking the same thing the other day. Back at the diner, Cole nearly took another pill in the bathroom. When he returned, Starr noticed his fidgety behavior.
