Tuesday
When Rachel finally tore herself away from kissing Greg, he apologized for jumping to conclusions about her earlier and assured her that she is much more than her past. When he expressed a desire to get to know her better, she shot him down, claiming his brother stands in the way. She acknowledged that she doesn't deserve Shaun and his romantic gestures, and wasn't sure what she was going to tell him in light of their kiss.
Téa and Nora were trapped in a cell together after being cited for contempt. Téa tried to explain to Nora that she felt bad about tearing Rachel down on the stand but was just doing her job. Nora explained to Téa that when she sees Matthew, she still sees that little baby she tried to protect so many years ago. "Believe it or not, I know how you feel," Téa said cryptically. When Nora asked how she knows, Téa simply responded that she's human. Téa offered to apologize to Rachel, but Nora said that anyone who harms her kids is dead to her.
At the station, Cole reunited with a concerned Marty, who asked what was going on. Brody explained that somebody tried to kill Cole. Meanwhile, Sergei held Todd and Starr at gunpoint and told them to get on their knees. When Starr tried to run, she came face-to-face with two armed thugs at the door to La Boulaie. Sergei informed Todd that Starr will be leaving with them. Starr's phone began to ring and it was Cole, who was worried that he hadn't heard from Starr. Before the thugs could execute Todd, Shaun took one down with a gunshot. The other rushed upstairs to look for the baby and made his way to the nursery. Shaun knocked out Sergei and ran upstairs, just as Sergei came to and wrestled with Todd. The thug that Shaun shot disappeared and managed to shoot Shaun in the back. Downstairs, Starr covered her eyes as Sergei smashed a vase over her dad's head. The thugs returned to the foyer with the baby, having left Shaun to bleed out in the nursery.
John stormed the mayor's reelection headquarters hoping to arrest the crooked politico, who had already gone to his debate. As the mayoral debate was about to begin, David brought his camera crew along to document his support for Viki (whose many last names he could recite without blinking). Lowell approached Viki and publicly declared a "clean fight," then offered her a secretarial job should she lose. Viki retorted, "If you're voted out, you stay out." The moderator commenced the debate, which bored David to the point of nausea. At the mention of Bo, however, David piped up, "That's my Pa you're talking about!" Lowell carried on about the drug dealers in Llanview and pointed out that Viki knows nothing about fighting crime, unless you count the crimes committed by her other personalities. David and Dorian noticed that John was lurking in the background. "The camera loves him," David remarked about his potential new reality star. John emerged and announced that the mayor is under arrest, which stirred the crowd. Fish played the tape of the mayor plotting to bring down Cole. "I"m innocent," the mayor seethed as he was led away in handcuffs, "you'll never make this stick." David, meanwhile, congratulated Viki on shaking her opponent.
After the mayor's arrest, John checked in on Cole, who urged him to call Starr. John had tried, to no avail, so he decided to head over to Dorian's. Fish followed the chief. At Dorian's, the thugs were about to take Starr and Hope just as Shaun made his way downstairs and aimed a gun at them. One of the men shot Shaun in the neck, taking him down for what appeared to be permanently. John and the cops soon arrived on the bloody scene, but Starr and Hope were already gone. At a warehouse, Sergei told Starr that she and her "brat" were far from okay.
Wednesday
After she was released from her cell and granted her belongings, Téa glanced at her fake divorce papers and happily bid farewell to Ross. In the police station, Nora encountered Matthew, who wanted to find Rachel to make sure she was okay. Rachel had already headed to Todd's, where she came face-to-face with Téa and coldly told the lawyer she was only there to see Shaun. Téa tried to explain that she had to do whatever she could to help her client, and reminded Rachel that she was the one who interrupted Greg's testimony. At the hospital, Greg gave his own account of the trial to his colleague, Vivian, who hinted that she was right about Rachel all along. Greg thought back to his smooch with Rachel. Just as Destiny was telling Matthew that she's pretty sure Rachel is getting ready for her big date with Shaun, Rachel confided to Téa that she's planning to break up with Shaun.
Nora was stunned to see Bo escort the mayor in for booking. Bo explained what happened at the debate, and Nora sashayed over to Lowell to say it would be her pleasure to put him in jail. Cole wanted to taunt the mayor as well, but Marty talked him out of it. John and Bo tried questioning Lowell about Sergei's location but came up with nothing.
In captivity, Starr pleaded with Sergei not to hurt her baby and warned the thugs that the police would find them soon enough. Sergei checked the exits and began questioning Starr, who was worried about her crying baby. She finally persuaded Sergei to let her hold the baby. "You are my ticket out of here," Sergei said. He handed her the phone and told her to call Cole. All she was able to say was his name before Sergei took it back and asked Cole if anyone was listening. Bo got on the phone and announced that Lowell is behind bars and can't help Sergei now. Sergei reminded Bo that he's got two hostages and made demands for a jet and some major cash. Bo tried to keep him on the phone long enough to get a trace but Sergei hung up. Tech whiz Fish, however, managed to get the trace via an alternate technology. Sergei and his guys looked forward to getting out of town, while Bo looked forward to nailing them.
At La Boulaie, John administered CPR to Shaun when he and Fish heard a noise coming from the closet. Fish approached with caution and found a beat-up Todd trapped inside. Todd explained what happened as the paramedics rushed out with Shaun. Todd phoned Téa and told her what happened, including that Shaun was shot. Téa informed a terrified Rachel that Shaun had been shot and they headed to the hospital. Meanwhile, Vivian was hitting on Greg when Shaun was wheeled in by an army of paramedics. Greg was devastated to realize that his brother was on the stretcher. Téa, meanwhile, went to see Todd and asked if he'd told Blair yet about the kidnapping. Todd said he couldn't because Blair is on "some business trip." Meanwhile, Blair was on a flight to Llanview with Ross, who wanted to get to know Blair a little better. Blair said she knows all she needs to about him is that he's married to Téa. She later found herself napping on his shoulder but when she awoke, she quickly pulled away.
Todd was kicking himself for not being able to help his daughter and tearfully said as much to Téa. She tried to calm him down by changing the subject. Todd pathetically asked why she's not wearing his ring. Finally, she put it on her finger. "I am with you now and forever," she vowed. Rachel watched as Greg was in total anguish over Shaun and phoned Matthew to let Destiny know. Greg went tearing down the hall as his bloody brother was wheeled into the OR.
Thursday
Blair and Ross arrived in Llanview. Blair told Ross to hide in the cabana,
but he wanted to be in the big house. Blair predicted that Todd would "blow a
gasket" once he finds out that Téa had been lying to him. Blair kept
threatening Ross she'd tell the police he was in town. Ross snuck into the
house and grabbed some fruit. Téa heard noises in the living room. "Is
somebody there?" Téa asked as she walked on the patio. Ross watched her but she didn't see him. "You'll see me soon enough," he said to himself.
A worried Todd didn't know what to do about Starr and Hope being kidnapped.
Téa suggested that Todd NOT go to the police station and let John do his job.
Blair saw Todd's beat up face. "I have some bad news to relate to you," he
said solemnly. Todd and Téa brought her up to speed on the kidnapping. "What
are we going to do about the girls?" Blair cried as she fell into Todd's
arms. Téa just stared at them.
Sergei called the police department and asked if his plane was ready, or "do
I kill the pretty mother and her baby?" Sergei called again and said
ominously, "tick tock." Bo asked for the baby. "Sorry, wrong answer," Sergei said. Sergei asked one of his henchmen to give him the baby. Via the phone, Bo,
John and Brody heard a gun go off.
Brody was brought into see Bo and John. He learned about the kidnapping. Bo
wanted Brody's help. "Anything you need," Brody said. Bo said they didn't
know if Shaun would make it. Sergei said he would only free Starr and Hope
when he had arrived at his destination. Bo was almost ready to storm the
warehouse.
Cole wanted to beat up Asher and demanded that he tell him where Starr and
Hope were. The officers had to keep them apart. John questioned Asher about
the warehouse. Asher insisted he had nothing to do with the kidnapping. John
told Asher that Lowell was now in jail. Asher lawyered up. John introduced
Asher to Brody, who pulled him up and made sure he knew the police had the
upper hand. John threatened to arrest Asher for dealing. Asher admitted that sometimes he hung out at the warehouse and offered to tell John what he wanted to
know. Asher described the entrances into the building. Brody offered to
re-con the warehouse.
Rachel brought Shaun's parents up to speed on Shaun's condition. Destiny
held Matthew's hand. Greg looked at Shaun's chart. "I just want to make sure
that we didn't miss anything," Greg said. Greg learned that his brother was
not out of the woods yet.
Greg told Shaun that everyone was outside waiting for him. Shaun opened his
eyes and asked what happened to Starr and Cole. Greg let his parents see
Shaun. His parents were very impressed with Rachel. Rachel told Greg she
found out about Shaun when she was "about to break up with him." Greg and
Rachel commiserated on how bad they felt about what they were about to do.
Greg had been bashing Shaun to a co-worker by saying Shaun could never
understand Rachel. "Sorry I missed our date," Shaun said to a teary-eyed
Rachel, who was overwhelmed with guilt as she stood in Shaun's hospital room.
Greg got some serious news about Shaun: There was another bullet fragment
next to the brain stem.
Kim gave Stacy a pregnancy test. "Stop stalling," Kim insisted. Rex knocked
at the door. Stacy held the test behind her back. Kim kept Rex and Stacy
from coming in. Kim suggested that Stacy let the doctor tell her she lost
the baby. Gigi and Rex discussed how Stacy keeps stalling about having a
doctor's appointment. Rex, wondering if Stacy might not be pregnant after all,
was ready to accompany Stacy and Kim to the doctor's appointment. Stacy
forbade Gigi from coming with them. They left and Gigi let herself into the
loft...where she found the box for the pregnancy test in the trash.
Friday
Rachel maintained a smile when Shaun told his family that he has a reason to get better. Meanwhile, Greg looked over Shaun's scans with another doctor and realized that there's still a bullet fragment in his brain. Greg insisted on performing the surgery himself, but the doctor said he wasn't sure the chief of surgery would allow it. Rachel came outside and heard the tale end of the conversation, so Greg was forced to reveal the situation. When he explained that he's the only surgeon qualified to perform the operation, Rachel wasn't sure that was a good idea. The two of them returned to Shaun's room, and Rachel took Matthew outside so that Greg could deliver the bad news to the family. Greg explained to his family that he felt operating on Shaun could be a way to make up for being an absentee son/brother. Dr. Gangemi arrived and informed Greg that the chief of surgery will allow Greg to operate only if the Evans family agrees to not take legal action against the hospital should anything go wrong. After some debate about the risks, everyone came to an agreement. Right before Shaun was wheeled into surgery, Shaun told Rachel he had fallen in love with her. Greg found himself looking wistfully at Rachel before going in to operate on his brother.
Kim accompanied Stacy to the doctor's office while Rex was forced to sit in the waiting room. Over at Rodi's, Schuyler stopped by to see Gigi. She was afraid that he was just there to say good-bye again, but he informed her that he's decided to stay. She was thrilled, and when he asked if Rex is going to be okay with that, she explained that Rex is trying his best to be grown-up about their friendship. Gigi shared her theory that Stacy could be faking this pregnancy, given her ability to fake the stem-cell donation, and showed him the pregnancy-test box she found in the garbage. Rex was uncomfortable at the ob/gyn's as he talked to an expecting couple. Kim gave Stacy some talking points on how to convince the doctor that she didn't know she had a miscarriage. Dr. Baez returned, and Rex tried to get past Kim so that he could be there for Stacy's exam. Inside, the doctor revealed to a stunned Stacy that she is a few days' pregnant. Outside, Rex heard Stacy's excited screaming and wondered what was going on.
At the PD, Blair stopped Todd from going into John's office and wringing his neck, while John and Bo tried to bargain with Sergei to save Starr and Hope's lives. Sergei was growing more frustrated by Hope's crying and demanded that Starr make the baby shut up. Sergei privately gathered his thugs to come up with a new money-making scam. A S.W.A.T. team arrived at the warehouse, rattling the kidnappers, while Brody managed to storm the warehouse via the sewers. Brody used his Navy SEAL training (and sleek wetsuit) to slip in unseen and grab of the guys from behind. Sergei wandered around looking for his man, while John headed toward the warehouse to distract Sergei. Brody shot the other guard in the back and safely untied Starr and the baby while Sergei was at the loading dock speaking with John. Sergei suddenly headed back inside when he heard from his wounded guard that someone was inside. Brody set Starr and the baby adrift on his raft, then tackled one of Sergei's men and got impaled with a rusty stake. Meanwhile, John tiptoed around the warehouse and suddenly felt a gun in his side.
