One Life To Live Recaps
OLTL Week of September 27, 2010
Monday
Todd interrupted Dani's driving lesson with Nate and insisted that Dani get in the car — without Nate. Dani worried that Todd was going to run away with her. "I came to take you as far away as possible," Todd admitted, unwilling to lose her to Ross. When Nate said Todd should find a way to prove what Tea's dying wish was, Todd decided they should get Greg to testify.
Destiny told Darren that she had followed Greg to Cherryvale, a clinic about an hour from Llanview, and that Greg was very worried about "some woman." Darren wondered if Greg had gone to that clinic "to score." Destiny grew defensive. "He's a doctor, not an addict," an indignant Destiny snapped, then suggested they "borrow" one of the driver's ed classes and go talk to the mystery patient. Darren wasn't too keen on the idea. Destiny told Todd that Greg was at the Cherryvale Clinic, and he headed to Cherryvale. Darren and Destiny left to go to "the library," but they were really heading for Cherryvale, too.
Blair called Dani that the judge had made her decision. "It's almost time," Dani said.
Blair and Starr arrived in Todd's office to be with him when the judge's ruling comes through. Blair apologized for not having paid enough attention to Starr, and asked her daughter how things were going. Starr confessed she can't stop thinking about James. "We tried the friendship thing and it didn't work," Starr said, explaining that James wanted more. Blair had a big hug for her daughter and assured Starr wanting two guys was human — but the reality was that you could only have one.
Ford and James met up at Rodi's. Bobby told his brother he knew who set him up and got him fired, but didn't mention Langston by name. Ford assured James that he'd land on his feet. James told Ford there was no reason Ford and Langston couldn't be a couple, but Ford said that was out of the question. James admitted that he had kissed Starr. "I told her I couldn't be friends anymore, but the thought of not talking to her is just killing me," James admitted. Ford left for a job interview at a camera shop.
Langston was shocked to run into Markko at the coffee shop. He shared that his dad was having a bypass operation. Langston was hurt that Markko hadn't told her about his father's surgery. "Why would I?" Markko wondered. Weeping, Langston admitted she sometimes wondered "if maybe." Markko got a phone call and it was clear he was talking to a girlfriend. He'd had been hanging out with Karen, Markko admitted, and Langston struggled to hold back tears.
At the clinic, Téa woke up and wondered where Dani and Todd were. "This isn't my room," she said. "Where am I?" she demanded to know. "Your condition has changed. You've gotten better," Greg told her, then said she wasn't going to die after all. "How could that be?" Téa asked. "Thank you," she said through sobs and laughs. Greg assured her he has her best interest at heart. Greg's phone rang and it was Todd. Greg covered, then pretended to leave a message on Todd's voice mail, and promised to find out when Todd's plane was arriving. Téa looked fondly at the photo of her, Dani and Todd. "I'm coming back to you," she said.
Cole surprised Marty with a visit. Marty wondered if he was really there to see Hannah, who entered the living room and told Cole how amazing his mom was. "Everyone needs a second chance," Marty assured her houseguest. After Hannah left to take a shower, Cole asked his mother how Hannah was doing. Marty hoped Hannah would have a fighting chance, but warned Cole to back off, or risk giving Hannah mixed signals. Marty wondered why Cole hadn't told Starr that Hannah was living with Marty, and Cole explained he was worried Starr would go ballistic when she found out. After Cole said goodbye, Hannah asked Marty if she still thought she was a psycho.
Tuesday
Starr flipped when Cole told her that Hannah had been freed and was staying at Marty's. "She framed my dad," Starr said angrily. "You just don't get it." Then she explained that she and James aren't friends anymore because James wanted more. Starr and Cole proclaimed their love for each other, but Starr admitted she had some feelings for James. "And you have feelings for Hannah," she pointed out. Cole assured her Hannah was not a problem.
Jessica and Brody talked about a Halloween wedding, but Brody thought that it might be a little soon. Jessica wondered if they should wait until they learned if the baby was his. "If I thought you had gotten someone else pregnant, I don't think I could have handled it," Jessica said. Brody looked sick. Natalie arrived and tried to assure Jessica that her night with Ford wasn't her fault. "At least you know who the father of your baby is," Jessica said to Natalie. Now it was Natalie's turn to look sick. Jessica asked Natalie to be her maid/matron of honor.
Marty accused Hannah of still being interested Cole. Brody showed up at Marty's door and Hannah retreated. Brody told the shrink that there is a chance the baby Jessica's carrying is Ford's, and wondered if he truly could love the baby if that turns out to be the case. He had not right to just Jessica, Brody added, admitting he's made bad choices himself. Brody went home to Jess after meeting with Marty. "You were right. I haven't been honest with you," he admitted. "I'm having a hard time accepting the fact that Ford may be the father of your baby."
John brought Ross in for questioning and showed him the evidence that proved Eli wasn't dead. John accused Ross of making a deal with Eli, so Ross would get custody of Dani if Ross helped Eli fake his death. He also thought Ross might have helped Eli murder his other two wives, and that Eli had tampered with Dani's will. "I'm going to fix it so Dani never sees you again," John threatened. Ross said he'd make a deal with John if John could promise he would have access to Dani.
Dani began to panic at the thought of being sent to Tahiti. Nate gave her his good luck charm. James showed up to help Nate fix his car and Nate started to tell his brother how wonderful Dani was. Nate told James that there were jobs at the Country Club; maybe Bobby could apply for one. Nate pushed James to open up about Starr, but James didn't want to talk about it. He did say Nate needed a new starter for his car.
In the courtroom, Blair tried to comfort a frantic Danielle. When Todd's lawyer wondered where Todd was, Dani told confessed that Todd had wanted her to run away with him "so Ross couldn't find me." Dani broke into Téars, wondering what Téa would have wanted her to do. Blair tried to comfort Dani and said she felt that Dani knows in her heart of hearts who Téa wanted to be with: Todd.
Todd began to open Téa's door. Greg stopped him but not before Téa heard his voice. "Todd, is that you?" she cried out weakly. Todd demanded that Greg to testify on his behalf as Téa kept crying out for him and Danielle. Todd pushed Greg up against the wall. "You owe me. You lied to us about Téa," Todd said angrily. Afterward, Greg went into Téa's room and told her it wasn't Todd's voice she heard. The nurse gave Téa a pill and said that Todd had been at the clinic earlier, but Téa was half asleep.
Ross stood up in the courtroom. "I have something to say," he said. Todd entered saying that Greg knew what Téa wanted Dani to do. The judge asked Dani to step outside. "There is no reason for you to hear all of this," she said. Todd asked Greg to tell the judge Téa wanted him to be with Dani, but Greg announced that Téa had wanted Ross to raise Danielle. Todd and Blair looked stunned.
Wednesday
Outside the courtroom, Destiny assured Dani that Todd would be given custody. Dani was torn, but finally admitted she wanted to be with Todd. "Llanview really feels like my home now," she explained.
Inside the courtroom, Greg shocked everyone with by declaring that Tea wanted Ross to take care of Dani. That's not what Greg said before, objected Todd. "I lied," Greg said. Todd insisted that Tea wanted Dani with him, but Greg claimed Tea had been lucid and wanted Dani with Ross.
Later, John had to separate Todd and Greg when Manning attacked the doc. Destiny was angry that Todd went ballistic on her brother, but couldn't believe Greg had sworn Tea wanted Dani with Ross.
A beaming Inez told Nora she was going out with Clint, and that he'd gotten James a grant. "I can tell that he likes you a lot," Nora said. Inez blushed. Nora told her that although Bo had painted a negative portrait of Clint, "He's a stand up guy." Later, Bo returned to his office and was upset to learn from Nora that Inez was going out with Clint. Nora suggested they throw a dinner party and invite his brother and Inez. Bo thought that was an awful idea.
Clint asked Natalie why he was avoiding her, and demanded to see her baby's father. Natalie paled, and assured her father that John would never hurt her. He'd broken her heart plenty before, growled Clint. Natalie defended John and pointed out that Brody wasn't perfect. Clint was puzzled by the remark.
Cris called Gigi and asked her to come into class a little early. Gigi said she thought she was finally on a winning streak. Rex didn't think it was luck (as he knew Clint was behind it.)
Bo showed up at Rodi's and asked what Rex had wanted to tell him. Rex dodged the question. "It's not even a question any more," Rex said, remembering his conversation with Clint, threats and all. Rex lied and said that he'd managed to track down David at a party in Ibiza, "having way too much fun." Bo sensed Rex was hiding something.
Cris asked Gigi to help the model get ready for class. The model arrived and began to undress. Gigi was clearly uncomfortable, especially when she began to pose him. "You did not tell me the dude was going to be naked," Gigi said when Cris returned to the classroom. Cris thought her drawing was good but wondered why she hadn't drawn his private parts. Gigi embarrassment grew as Cris assured her that the naked body was an artistic inspiration. Rex entered the classroom and was stunned to find a naked man standing there. Gigi told Rex to look at the model as an object for study. "If you are happy I am happy," Rex said with a big smile.
The judge said that she made her decision.
Thursday
Ford came home and reported he'd had no success job hunting. James told his brother that Nate had offered to put in a good word about him at the country club, where Ford got a job bussing tables.
At school, Langston was cornered by the dean, who assured her that Ford would never teach again. Langston almost told her the truth but didn't. "What were you going to say, that Ford wasn't innocent?" Starr asked. Langston lamented losing Markko. "We had that special thing when two people love each other," she sighed, adding that when she just saw him it was as if Markko was looking right through her. Starr encouraged Langston not to beat herself up about it.
Natalie and John wondered why Greg would testify in Ross' behalf at Dani's custody battle, and Destiny demanded to know if Greg he was telling the truth about Tea's wishes.
Displeased by Todd's attack on Ross, the judge ruled in favor of Ross. The courtroom was stunned. Dani looked lost while Ross smiled triumphantly. Todd railed to the judge about the unfairness about her decision. Blair stood up and insisted that Tea wanted Todd with Dani, and that her will "was a fake. And Mr. Rayburn knows it." The judge stuck with her decision and transferred custody, effective immediately. Dani's eyes filled with tears. Todd exploded and threatened the judge. Ross whipped out a tape recorder and played a tape of Todd threatening to kill Ross. Todd said his words were taken out of context and accused Ross of entrapment. When Ross said he had a gun on him at the time, Todd exploded. Destiny blamed her brother for the mess Dani was in. While Dani wondered where Nate was, he knocked on James' door. "I need your help bad," Nate said on the verge of ears. Todd, Dani, Destiny and Blair headed to Todd's house.
The nurse in St. Kitt's warned Eli that if he leaves the hospital he'll put his health in jeopardy. Eli demanded that his doctor come by. Another nurse entered his room to say there was a call from Det. John McBain. Eli looked very worried. Having finished testifying on Ross's behalf, Greg returned to Eli's bedside. Eli thanked him, but Greg refused to give Eli a clean bill of health or let him leave.
Inez and Clint toasted with wine and talked about Ford. Inez was convinced Ford's firing was a misunderstanding. Clint was positive LU would want to reinstate Ford, and offered to supply LU with a little incentive. Inez refused, and wondered if Clint would want something in return from her. Money gives him power and he likes to throw that around sometimes, shrugged Clint, adding that he'd like to get to know her better but if she didn't want to, that was fine — his offer to help her son stood. Busboy Ford ran into Clint and Inez; embarrassment ensued.
Friday
Natalie and John wondered why Greg kept flying down to St. Kitt's. Shaun arrived and said Greg was a bit off after Téa died. Natalie and John figured Greg was under Eli's thumb. John said goodbye to Natalie and headed to St. Kitts.
Téa lay in bed and whispered Todd's name. When the nurse confirmed that Todd had been there, Téa was confused and begged the nurse to let her use her phone. In St. Kitts, Greg told Eli that if he left he'd die from his blood clot, and scheduled an operation. Eli didn't buy it. "I invented this con," he smiled, tossing the x-rays on the floor. Téa 's nurse called to ask why Téa wasn't allowed to call her husband. Téa was to make no calls, Greg insisted. Eli warned Greg that if anything happened to him, Ross would tell everyone Greg's secret. "I don't think so," Greg replied, and produced a syringe. The men struggled over the sedative-filled needle. Later, John kicked open a door at the hospice in St. Kitts, his gun poised.
Todd arrived at Viki's and told her the judge gave Dani to Ross. "He's taking her tonight. I've lost my daughter," he said, tearing up. Viki was sympathetic, but said his kidnapping scheme wasn't a good idea. "Eli Clarke has forged a will — ironclad," Todd barked, and stormed off. Viki tried not to cry.
Blair assured Dani that she wasn't going to lose them. Starr showed up and offered her condolences to her sister, and stunned to learn Todd wouldn't even get visitation rights. Todd came home and reported that Viki was useless, then told Dani he loves her. Dani let him know that she had chosen him. "I love you, Dad," she said. "I don't know what to say," a moved Todd said as Dani headed upstairs to get her stuff. "My daughter loves me," Todd said to Blair with a smile. Later, Tea grabbed the nurse's phone and dialed Todd's number. "Todd, Todd," he heard Tea whisper.
Nate tried to convince James that keeping Dani from going to Tahiti would make him a hero in Todd's eyes. James wondered what kind of jail time they might be in for if the plan didn't work out. Blair called to find out why Nate wasn't there to say goodbye to Dani. "Nothing matters to me more than her," Nate insisted. James agreed to help his brother, and they came up with a plan. "We'll make it work," Nate said with a grin.
When Viki learned the judge had heard about Todd's threat to Dani, she started throwing her weight around. "Poor Todd," she said to Charlie. "I am no one to judge," Charlie said. Both remembered how hard it was to lose a child. Viki hoped she could help Todd. There was knock at the door, and Echo diSavoy greeted Charlie. "Chuckles. Long time no see," she said as she grabbed him in a hug. Charlie looked terrified.
