One Life To Live Recaps

OLTL Week of September 20, 2010

Monday

While on the phone with Ross, Eli mysteriously remarked, "It's a good thing we kept her around." Cut to Greg leaning over a hospital bed, in which a not-so-dead-after-all Téa was hanging on for dear life. Eli informed Ross, who was hanging out at Rodi's, that he'd witnessed Téa's first "episode," the day she fell ill in court. He recalled how he had to take Téa to the hospital, just as Greg was talking to an unconscious Téa about the "surprising test results" he got when he examined Téa that same day. A flashback revealed Eli going to Greg's office after her dizzy spell and learning that Téa was going to be just fine. "There was nothing wrong with you," a guilt-ridden Greg told his unconscious patient. "Until you met me." He went on to explain that it was Eli's idea to fabricate a fatal tumor and that Eli forced him to fake Téa's death. But Greg promised his patient that he'll fix things no matter what it takes.

Meanwhile, Eli explained to his brother that they'll all soon live happily ever after. Natalie spied Ross at Rodi's and suddenly grabbed the cell away from him. "Ross?" Eli said. When he realized he wasn't talking to Ross anymore, Eli promptly hung up, but Natalie was certain she'd just heard Eli's voice. She let Ross nervously slink away, but shared her suspicion with John. Ross, meanwhile, headed to the courthouse, where Todd was meeting with his lawyer, Morgan Guthrie, the man who'd helped him fight Blair for custody the year before. When Blair saw Ross, she confronted him about his involvement with Eli. Todd had to practically pull Blair off of Ross so they could all get to the hearing.

Nate, Destiny and Dani talked in the park about Dani's daddy dilemma, and Destiny suggested that they talk to Greg about what Téa wanted at the end. Elsewhere in the park, Langston came across Ford on his way home from being fired for having inappropriate relations with a student. To Ford's added dismay, she made it clear that what happened between them the other day will never happen again. Meanwhile, James informed a disbelieving Starr that his brother and Langston are back together. He also explained that Ford had been fired and this means James won't be able to attend Llanview U. on a scholarship. Starr later ran into Langston and asked her friend if she's the one who ratted out Ford, while Ford and Nate came face to face.

The hearing regarding Téa's will got underway, and the judge declared Téa's will legal, granting Ross custody of Dani. As Ross approached the bench, Dani sneaked into the courtroom. Back at the hospice, Eli was formulating a devious plan out loud, proclaiming that Dani won't be with Ross for very long. Meanwhile, Greg revealed his plan to an unconscious Téa to get Eli on the operating table and kill him.

Tuesday

Langston explained to Starr why she got Ford fired, but Starr had news for her: Her actions got James kicked out of school as well. Elsewhere in the park, Nate ran into Ford on his way home from the university with his sad box of office supplies. At LU, James ripped up a flier for the "Live and Learn" grant, just as Gigi was reading a letter informing her that she'd won the grant. Rex and Kelly arrived at Rodi's excited for their plan to investigate Clint, who was at his office chuckling at a photo of David cleaning toilets in prison. As it turns out, SUPERMODEL CRIME CLUB was a big hit in Morocco and the warden wants more money for keeping its star hidden, Clint's lackey explained. Matthew arrived just in time to witness the tail end of the exchange and wondered what his uncle was up to. As Clint explained that this business requires a bit of ruthlessness, Kelly arrived for lunch with her son's great-grandfather. While Clint was finishing up with Matthew, Kelly swiped a key card off the desk, then suggested they head over to Rodi's.

After Todd argued that he should have a shot at custody of Danielle, the judge agreed to let all parties state their case. As Dani and Destiny remained hidden in the back of the courtroom, Todd gave a heartfelt testimony about Dani being "everything he needs right now." Ross then argued that he's always been a father figure to Danielle, pointing out the problems associated with Todd's parenting, including the fact that he's a convicted rapist. Destiny interrupted the proceedings to suggest that they just ask Dani what she wants. The judge allowed it, but Dani was extremely nervous upon taking the stand and could only say how she was feeling: that she misses her mom and doesn't want to be in this position.

In the park, Ford explained to a sympathetic Nate that he'd just lost his job. But when the topic of their mom came up, Ford wasn't so nice, and ended up provoking Nate into throwing one of Ford's treasured trophies. Nate soon revealed that he knows what that award was for, and Ford was impressed to learn that Nate is as much of a film geek as he is. Meanwhile, James informed Inez that Bobby was fired but wouldn't say why. When he added that he can't go to school because of this, she asked if there's anything she can do to help. James responded that he'd wanted nothing more in his life than her help but that he doesn't need a mom now. "I can take care of myself," he tearfully swore. Inez apologized for putting him in that position, and James stormed out.

At Rodi's, Rex swore to Gigi that this latest job for Kelly will be worth it. Gigi beamed as she revealed that she'd won the grant. Kelly arrived in the midst of their celebration and asked to be seated with Clint. Rex was impressed as she slyly slipped him the key card. Over lunch, Clint asked why Zane doesn't come to Llanview to live, and Kelly explained that he's very involved with his school in England. Clint then asked that Kelly give up her crusade to bring David back to Llanview because all David wants is the Buchanans' money. Rex, meanwhile, wandered the halls of Buchanan Enterprises and made his way into Clint's office. Just a few minutes later, he figured out that Clint had traveled to Morocco the day of David and Dorian's nixed nuptials. Kelly got nervous when Clint left their lunch before dessert and called Rex to alert him. Rex swiftly vacated Clint's office, just as Matthew approached the door. On his way out of Rodi's, Clint noticed Inez looking forlorn at the bar and stopped to talk to her. Gigi walked up to Kelly's table and announced that she wants to talk to her about Rex. In the park, Starr came across an upset James, who promptly planted a kiss on her.

Wednesday

After Téa's will hearing let out, Hannah's hearing began, with Nora presenting her case that Hannah's lies allowed Elijah to go free. Marty took the stand and argued that Hannah was taken advantage of by Eli. Nora approached the witness stand and asked if Marty really believes that Hannah should take no responsibility in this. Marty testified that Hannah has absentee parents and that she knows from personal experience this kind of upbringing can cause serious emotional instability. Cole interrupted to say that everything Hannah did was to protect him, and after some more cross-examining of Marty, the judge released Hannah into Marty's custody provided that she attends all her recommended counseling sessions. Hannah was grateful, and walked off with Marty and Cole like she was finally part of a happy family.

After James planted a surprise kiss on Starr, she pulled away. "What were you thinking?" she cried, keeping her distance. James explained that his day had gone from bad to worse and he was just seeking comfort. He recalled the few memories he has of his mother, and noted how strange it is to have her in his life now. Starr was sympathetic, but said that's no excuse to go around kissing people. James confessed that a friendship isn't what he wants, and Starr was forced to admit that she's not completely satisfied with a friendship either, but that's all she can give him right now.

Clint stopped by the bar at Rodi's to check on Inez, who was clearly drowning her sorrows. He offered to have a drink with her before heading back to the office. She admitted that she'd just had a run-in with James that absolutely broke her heart. She went on to explain about his missed grant opportunity. Bo lingered in the distance with his usual skeptical look, but eventually made his presence known. Clint told Bo how proud he is of the promise Matthew already shows at BE. Gigi approached Kelly's table and said she needs to talk, then asked point blank if Kelly is interested in her boyfriend. Kelly swore that she has no designs on Rex, explaining that their naked run-in at La Boulaie was all Jack's doing. Gigi didn't know about that, which added to the awkwardness of the conversation. Kelly assured Gigi that her relationship with Rex is all business, noting that it will help out with Gigi's tuition costs. Prideful Gigi boasted that she has a grant and won't be needing Kelly's money. Kelly apologized for treating her like a charity case and making her feel like she's after Gigi's man. Meanwhile, Bo sat down with Inez and admitted that her getting to know his brother feels a little close for comfort. Bo proceed to explain that Clint brought a shotgun to his and Nora's wedding, which made Inez chuckle. Nora came upon the pair laughing over beers and asked what's so funny.

At BE, Matthew found Rex ducking out of his uncle's office and asked what he's doing there. Rex asked that Matthew trust that whatever Rex is doing is important. Matt could see that Rex was stealing files and refused to let him get away with it. He demanded that Rex put the files back, but after watching Rex shove them into a desk drawer, Matt phoned security. Clint soon arrived and Matt explained what he found Rex doing. Clint told Matt to get back to his photocopying so he could deal with Rex one-on-one. Rex asked Clint to explain what he found in Clint's desk, so Clint pulled out the photo of David cleaning toilets. When Rex demanded that Clint spill, Clint advised Rex it'd be in his best interest if he kept quiet about this. "Are you threatening me?" Rex inquired.

Carlotta dropped by Cristian's studio after a visit to Antonio and Jamie and asked how he could have let Layla leave the country. Cristian explained that Layla wanted him to take the fellowship and asked that she just respect their decision and wait for the "big multicultural wedding" she's always wanted. She agreed, then headed to the diner. Once she was gone, Cris called Layla and left a message saying he loves her. Later, Gigi arrived and observed that Cris must be very sad, and a little mad, judging from his latest work of art. Cris asked Gigi to go on with her critique, and was impressed with what she had to say.

Thursday

Jessica's yoga instructor, Inga, made Brody uncomfortable when she asked if he's the dad of Jessica's impending bundle of joy. He assured Jess afterward that he feels as though he's the baby's father regardless of what a DNA test will say. Elsewhere in the gym, Nate ran into James and revealed that he and Ford had experienced something of a breakthrough. After a failed plea to the dean to get his job back, Ford arrived at the gym and spotted Brody about to hit the bag.

At LU, Cristian assured Gigi that she'd fit right in with his art class. A saucy female student approached Cristian and asked if Gigi is his fiancée, while a male student recognized her from Rodi's. The two budding artists gave Gigi serious anxiety as they talked about their influences and previous experience. After their drawing assignment, however, Cristian asked why Gigi drew a laptop computer next to a copy of the newspaper and was impressed with her astute explanation.

After some retail therapy in a wig, Dorian sat down for coffee with Langston and asked about her first week at college. Naturally, the conversation turned to Ford, and Langston revealed that Ford slept with Jessica. Dorian was so thrilled to hear about Langston's revenge scheme that she leapt out of her seat and hugged the girl, then presented her with a black onyx pendant to let her know she's a true Cramer now. Langston thought it was beautiful, but looked rather guilty as she put it on.

At BE, Rex confronted Clint about the photo of David and asked if he'd had something to do with David's untimely jail sentence. Clint explained that the authorities in Morocco have been after David for years, and all he did was point them in the fugitive's direction. He then threatened to call Bo and report the burglary of his office. Rex's eyes widened when Clint mentioned Gigi and Shane, but he refused to be blackmailed. Too bad, Clint noted, because he has an offer Rex won't be able to refuse. He went on to reveal how much he knows about Rex's financial situation, including the costs of Shane's asthma meds and Gigi's tuition. Clint offered to double whatever Kelly's paying him, but Rex claimed he didn't need the money, noting that Gigi has a scholarship. "It would be a shame if that fell through ... it happens all the time," Clint cryptically suggested. Rex said he'd have to think about this, but Clint sat down and called in a "favor" as Rex stepped out.

Nora found Bo and Inez giggling over beers at Rodi's and asked what was so funny, so Bo explained that he was just catching up Inez on his brother's penchant for pulling out a shotgun. Nora argued that Clint is a great guy who cares about his family, then privately scolded Bo for trashing his brother to Inez. When Bo claimed he was just offering her some "insight," Nora wondered if Bo didn't want Clint dating Inez and said she thinks it'd be nice if they got to know each other. Inez, meanwhile, phoned Nate and was surprised to hear that he was hanging out at the gym with James.

When Nate got off the phone, he told James it sounded like their mom is worried about him. James explained about losing his free ride to LU and Nate was sympathetic. Ford asked Brody if he should just sub in for the punching bag, but Brody assured him he's done fighting. Ford said he's more than happy to let Brody be the dad, even if the baby does turn out to be his, which seemed to anger Brody. While he was giving the bag a round of hard punches, Cristian walked up and asked if he's okay. Brody said he was fine, then told Jessica the same when he went to meet up with her.

After making his mysterious call, Clint phoned Inez and told her he's got a "hunch" things are going to work out for her son, James. At Rodi's, Gigi excitedly told Rex all about her first art class. Gigi then excused herself when she received a call. It was the dean, who told her the grant fell through due to a "technical problem" and that the grant is being reassigned. Nora and Bo saw how upset Gigi was and asked if there's anything they can do. Rex told them everything's fine, then assured his girlfriend that they'd manage to pay for her tuition.

Friday

Darren arrived to drivers' ed to find that he's the only one in the course, although his extremely dry instructor continued to refer to the "others" who were supposed to be in class. Darren wondered where Destiny was and noted that she usually gets a ride from Greg. At the hospice, Greg was with Téa formulating a plan to get her back to Llanview. He freaked when he found Destiny wandering the halls. "I know what you did," Destiny announced, putting the fear of God in her brother. Luckily, she wasn't referring to the unknown fact that Téa's still alive. Meanwhile, Téa's hand began to move. Greg gave Destiny some cab fare and advised her to head back to school. Before she was gone, he told his sister that he loves her and doesn't know what he'd do if he lost her. When he returned to Téa, he was shocked to find that she'd just had a major spike in blood pressure and called in the nurse.

At the coffeehouse, Todd was grumpy as he listened to Dani chat with Ross on the phone. Nate arrived and Todd asked the nervous teen to sit down so they could "get to know each other." When Dani got up to get coffee, Todd made it clear to Nate that Ross is a suspicious character and is not to be left alone with Dani. Nate was puzzled, but didn't have a chance to respond, as Dani returned and dragged him off to school.

At BE, Clint kicked up his cowboy boots and chuckled as he looked at his photo of David cleaning toilets. Meanwhile, Kelly phoned Rex to see if he has any answers about David, but Rex was about to go in and confront Clint, so he told her he'd get back to her. He then stormed into Clint's office and demanded to know how Gigi lost her grant. To show his true power, Clint made a call to the dean right in front of Rex to get Gigi's situation at LU sorted out — and successfully bought Rex's silence.

Over breakfast at Rodi's, James urged Ford to find out who got him fired. Langston overheard and scampered away. Inez arrived and approached the boys' table to tell James that there's a chance he could win the Live and Learn grant. When Ford heard that Clint had put in a good word for James, he crudely asked if Inez slept with her new pal, but later apologized after realizing that Inez's desire to help James is genuine. Meanwhile, Cristian congratulated Gigi on a job well done in class the day before, but she informed him she'll be dropping the class, seeing as she has to drop out of school now that she lost her grant. Cristian made a call and learned that he'd just been granted a budget for an assistant ... and if Gigi takes the position, she can continue to attend LU. Hmm.... Rex arrived and had to feign surprise upon hearing that "the perfect job" had just fallen into Gigi's lap. After James learned that he's getting the grant, Inez excitedly called Clint and said she doesn't know how to thank him. "No problem. Have dinner with me," he challenged.

Rather than show up for drivers' ed, Nate gave Dani a driving lesson set to music. Destiny showed up late to class, but Mr. Stein was willing to let her take the wheel. Darren asked if everything with Greg is okay, but Destiny wasn't sure. After a spin around the course, Destiny thought she did great, while Darren jumped out of the car to vomit. Destiny later confided in Darren her suspicion that Greg is hiding something at the clinic. Meanwhile, Greg sat down by his patient's side and asked Téa what's happening, just as she began to open her eyes and mumbled, "Dani, Todd, where are they?"

At The Sun offices, Kelly confronted Todd about his anxieties over being a good dad to Dani and asked why he hasn't told the girl he loves her. Todd admitted it's because he's afraid she won't say it back, but claimed he's got a plan. Kelly was driven to distraction when Todd left the office without giving any details about his plan. Rex finally arrived and spun a story about how he'd learned that David is "long gone" and really wants nothing to do with Dorian. Todd showed up at the school parking lot and told Dani that he's coming with her right now. At the coffeehouse, Langston was shocked to run right into her ex Markko.
