Monday
Langston was thrilled that she was going to be Dorian's real daughter. Starr was thrilled to be getting a cousin, but nervous about her first day back at school. Blair reminded her daughter that "we Cramers are a tough breed." Starr hoped that was true. Jack stared at Starr's stomach and wondered if he'd get to be an uncle. Starr reminded him that Marcie would be her baby's mother and Marcie's brothers would be the baby's uncles. Jack felt Starr's stomach. Then Marcie and Addie got to feel her stomach. "I feel the baby," Marcie said. "Your baby," Starr reminded her.
Todd reminded Starr's OB/GYN, Dr. Joplin, that she had agreed to give Starr's baby to him. Joplin refused. "I'm not going to help you ruin all those lives," she said firmly. Joplin noted that Starr was old enough to legally decide the future of her baby. The doctor begged Todd not to force her to interfere. "I couldn't live with myself," she pleaded. Todd picked up the photo of Joplin's son and went on about the son's drug habit and how he had stolen drugs from the hospital. Todd threatened that it would be in her best interest to help him get Starr's baby.
"How is killing Starr's baby for her own good?" Dr. Joplin asked. Todd looked surprised, saying no baby would be dying. The doctor would deliver the child, rush it to Todd and then tell Blair, Starr and Marcie that the baby had died. Dr. Joplin said that parents of stillborns often want to see the baby. "It's not only morally wrong, it's illegal," Dr. Joplin said. Todd laughed. "I don't like to be screwed with," he warned.
Dorian decorated the house for the big Langston-is-joining-the-family party.
Blair thought perhaps Dorian should wait until the papers were officially signed. "What if you run into a snag?" she asked. Dorian wanted to celebrate now, not later. Dorian told Markko that if he ever hurt Langston, she'd take out a very sharp instrument and "cut out your heart." Langston brought Markko up to date on the search for other Montez family members. She gave Markko a big hug. "Markko, unhand my daughter. It's time to cut the cake," Dorian said. Langston and Dorian cut the cake to the cheers of the guests. Dorian gave a lovely speech about how she and Langston found each other. "I will always honor the mother who gave you life," Dorian said. Langston's eyes filled up with tears. Dorian promised she'd always be there for Langston. Then she introduced her new daughter to the group.
Nigel brought Jared and Ray in to meet Clint. "Get me the money," Ray said. "You must be Langston's uncle, Ray Montez," Clint replied. Clint remarked that Ray was paid with his freedom. Ray didn't want to get stuck with taking care of his sister's kid. "What's in it for you?" he asked Clint. "That's my business," Clint replied. He showed Ray pics of Dorian and Langston. Ray went to the guest room to change into party clothes.
Jared was frustrated. He couldn't contact Natalie. Jared made it clear that he did this job for Clint so Clint would "let Natalie back into his life." Clint didn't think anything bad would happen to Langston. "She'll be Dorian's consolation prize when Dorian gives me back BE," Clint explained. Jared and Clint watched as Ray left for the party. "Jared, you did good. You are one step closer to making up for what you did to this family," Clint said.
Dorian gave a toast to Langston as the doorbell rang. Addie brought Ray into the room. "This man says he needs to see you," Addie said to Dorian. "I'm family. I'm Ray Montez. And I am the uncle of Langston," he announced.
As Cris was being thrown into a Colombian jail cell, he reminded his captors that he wasn't Ray Montez. Cris wanted to make a phone call but the guards stepped on his cell phone. Cris flashed back to Sarah going over the falls. "Don't worry, I'll be back, Sarah," he whispered to himself. The guards said that Ray's wife was there to see him. A woman walked in and looked at Cristian as if she had never seen him before (because she hadn't!).
Sarah rushed into the living room looking for her mother. She wanted to stay at Llanfair. "No, you can't do that," Tina told her daughter. Tina did some fast talking and said that though she wanted her daughter to stay there, she thought it would just make her more upset. Sarah didn't get Tina's way of thinking and certainly didn't understand why Jessica let Natalie back into Llanfair and into her life. Tina smiled nervously. She told Sarah that their love would bring Cris back to her. "When it's real, miracles can happen," Tina said. Jared walked in to the living room looking for Natalie. Sarah asked if he had seen Cris at the airport. Sarah hadn't seen Natalie. Tina just looked hopelessly in the other direction.
Tess visited Natalie and was surprised she hadn't changed into more comfortable clothes. Natalie refused to eat. "Arsenic stew," she sniffed. Tess ate a bite to prove that it wasn't poisoned. Natalie explained that people would come looking for her. Tess reminded her that Viki was in Africa, Roxy was too stupid to bother, and Clint didn't really like her at the moment. "Jared loves me," Natalie crowed. Tess promised to keep Natalie and Jared apart. "You are going to suffer the way you made me suffer," Tess growled. She told Natalie that she'd be writing Jared a "Dear John" letter. Natalie wrote, and Tess read the first draft. Natalie looked miserable and just shook her head. At first, Nat refused to recopy the letter. "Write the letter or Jared is toast," Tess threatened. She reminded Nat that she had tampered with her brakes in the car and poisoned the risotto. "Are you willing to fool with your lover's life?" Tess asked. Natalie recopied the letter. "Go to hell," Natalie spat. "Oh, no — I already live there. Now you are going to know what that feels like," Tess replied. Natalie started to cry as she looked up at the closed-circuit television set in her secret room. She watched as Tess told Jared she hadn't seen Natalie lately. Sarah said the last time she had seen Nat she was conked out on the couch. Jared read Natalie's letter and read parts of it aloud to Tess, Sarah and Tina. Tina couldn't believe what was happening but said nothing. "Jared, I am so sorry," Tess said. In the secret room, Natalie wept and said to the television screen, "Jared, I love you."
Tuesday
Ray's wife came to the prison and found Cristian wearing her husband's prison jumper. The guard insisted that Cris was Ray Montez. She asked Cris why he was there and asked if he had killed Ray. Cris asked her to call his brother. "He's got connections," he explained. Cris begged her to call. "Never," she vowed. Cris said he'd help her find her husband, if she called Antonio for him. Mrs. Montez called for the guard and left the cell.
Ray crashed Dorian's party. "I'm your Uncle Ray. You are Langston; I would know you anywhere," he said to his niece. Langston was speechless. Ray took her hand and hugged her. Dorian was stunned. Markko pulled Ray away from Langston. Dorian declared that she would be protecting the girl. "Dr. Lord is adopting me," Langston explained. Ray showed Langston a photo of her mother and him. He explained that he hadn't wanted his sister to marry an American. As a result of her moving away, "I lost my connection to her," he recalled. Ray said he didn't know he had a niece until recently. Dorian wondered how he found out. Ray explained he had read about Dorian and her BE takeover in a magazine. He claimed he then did some Internet research on his sister and learned of her death. "I made a vow to myself that I would find you," he told Langston. Dorian swore he was a con man. Ray apologized to the teen for not having been there when her parents died. "I'm so grateful to have found you," he said. Ray and Langston began speaking in Spanish. Langston smiled and was thrilled to be talking about her mother with her uncle. Langston wondered if Ray could stay at Dorian's, but Ray already had accommodations.
Nigel walked in on Clint's conversation with Asa (okay, a photo of Asa). He confessed that he had been Jared's partner in crime. Nigel was ashamed that he had let Jared take the whole blame. He couldn't stay silent once Clint brought Ray into the mix. Nigel followed the confession with handing in his letter of resignation. "It won't take me long to pack," he said. Nigel added that he's known for some time that David Vickers is the family heir. He thought that Jared seemed like a better candidate as a family member. "Everything that followed...it's all my fault," Nigel admitted. Clint listened to Nigel's explanation and tore up his letter of resignation. He thought it was a blessing that David Vickers still doesn't know the truth. "I'm going to give you another chance," Clint said. "From this day on, you are going to give me the same loyalty that you gave my father."
Jared reread Natalie's "Dear John" letter. "This doesn't make any sense," he declared. Natalie kept screaming "Liar!" at the television set. Tina stood up and said, "Jared, it's not true. Natalie would never leave you." Jared agreed with Tina's gut feeling that the letter was a fake. Tess tried to convince him that Natalie's letter was real. Jared thought Nat would have had a face-to face fight rather than write a letter. "Are you telling me that someone forced her to write that letter?" Tess asked. Yes, that's what Jared thought. "Yes!" cheered Natalie from the secret room. Tess compared Jared's shock to how she felt when Nash died.
"Denial," Tess said. Jared reread the letter aloud. "That's not how Natalie talks, not how she thinks," he said. Jared thought Clint forced Natalie to write the letter. "I think he did a number on her," Jared fumed. "That son of a bitch." Jared grabbed his phone. Tess confessed to having forced Natalie to write the letter. "It's my fault she left town," Tess said. Jared didn't think that made sense. Tess explained that Natalie thought the deal Jared made with Clint was awful. "Maybe she couldn't live with you," Tess hinted. "It's not her style to run," Jared said.
Sarah and Tina headed to the police station to discuss the Cris crisis with Bo. Tina, Sarah, Bo and John watched the airport surveillance DVD that showed Cristian's last moments at the airport. Bo said they found a rag with chloroform. Bo thought that Carlo was involved. "Where is he?" Sarah asked. John told Tina they had found her shoe at Ramsey's after the big shootout, but promised he'd keep that quiet. Tina flirted with Bo. He smiled. Tina acted weird when Bo asked her how Jessica was. Tina replied that Jessica was stressed and "not herself." "You noticed that too? That's she's not herself?" Bo asked. Tina looked alarmed. Bo wondered if perhaps Jessica had relapsed. Tina didn't give him a straight answer. Tina remembered that Tess threatened to tell everyone about the jewels if she even breathed the name "Tess." Tina continued to lie about what was really going on at Llanfair. Bo said they would assign some police protection for Sarah and asked Tina to keep him in the loop if there were any changes in Jessica's behavior. Sarah and Tina left. Bo and John identified the man on the DVD with Cris as someone they had arrested in the past.
Wednesday
Jared vowed to find Natalie. Tess claimed to feel bad for Jared, as Natalie had "left him." Nat watched as Tess tried to feed Jared breakfast. Jared had been up all night trying to find her. "It's like she vanished off the face of this earth," Jared sighed. Tess tried to be compassionate, but thought perhaps he "should take a hint." She smirked at the camera, knowing that Natalie was watching. Jared didn't want breakfast so Tess brought the leftovers to Natalie, who insisted that Jared would never give up on her. Natalie begged Jessica to come out. Tess was annoyed. "I should just kill you right now," Tess snapped to a terrified Natalie. Tess thought that in time Jared would believe the words Nat wrote. Natalie disagreed. She asked what Tess' plan was for Jared. Tess said she'd have him fall out of love with Natalie and "in love with me." Natalie looked stricken.
John popped in to see Blair. He told him that Cris Vega was missing. Starr was nervous about going back to school. Blair told her daughter she was proud of her for being brave. "It's going to be really tough," Starr worried.
Jared told John at the police station that he thinks Natalie may have been kidnapped. He showed John the letter. John promised to check it out, but didn't think there was any sign of foul play. He agreed that the missive wasn't exactly Natalie's style. John wondered if "what you did to Natalie's family" was behind some of this trouble. Jared nodded. John learned that Carlo Hesser was traveling as Mortimer Bern. "I saw him," Jared said, as he told John that he had spotted Bern at a prison in Colombia. John was grateful for the tip. Bo showed up and John asked him if he had heard anything about Natalie going out of town. Jared left a message for someone. "I need to see you immediately. It's about Natalie," he said cryptically.
In Colombia, Mrs. Montez paid Cris another visit. She came back for a conjugal visit (!). Cris told Vanessa she's attractive but wasn't about to make love to her. Cris begged her to help him so they would find the real Ray Montez. Vanessa admitted, though with little enthusiasm, that she wanted to find her husband. "I cannot help you unless you help me," Vanessa told Cris. Vanessa left and promised to call Antonio.
Langston heard Dorian making a call to get the dirt on Ray Montez. "He says he's Langston's uncle," Dorian said. Langston made her presence known to Dorian, which made for an awkward moment. Once off the phone, Dorian asked what Langston was doing. Langston asked Dorian why she had sent her goons on her uncle. Dorian explained that she was just being cautious and had been on the phone with her lawyers — she thought Ray was after money. Langston credited Delphina with the return of Ray in her life. Ray dropped in and the two embraced. He had a present for Langston and gushed all over his niece.
Langston bought it, though Blair and Dorian didn't believe a word he was saying. Blair broke up the Montez family reunion and reminded the girls that they would be late for school. Ray asked to have dinner with Langston. "I would love that," she said as she scurried off, leaving Dorian alone with Ray. "What is it you want from me and what do you want from my daughter?" Dorian asked.
Ray gave Clint a full report of how his meeting with Dorian and Langston went. Bo interrupted their chat. Clint introduced Ray as his "consultant," but failed to mention his name. Bo was there to take Matthew for his first day of high school. Cole came down and was ready to be there for Matthew on day one. Nora and Clint had a sad conversation. Nora told him that she was having a hard time with how he was dealing with business. Clint told her he understands and left the living room. Clint soon returned and noticed that Nora was sad that Matthew was now in high school. "I miss my little boy," she sobbed.
Thursday
Gigi was hurt when Shane asked Brody — not her — to take him to his first day of school, but she allowed it. She warned Brody not to introduce himself as Shane's father, however, "because you are not." Marcie popped in with news that she had been approved as a substitute teacher. The two best friends started talking. "Shane doesn't know that Rex is his dad?" Marcie asked Gigi. "What a mess...and I know from messes," Marcie continued. Gigi admitted she was scared to tell Shane the truth. Brody returned and was eager to show Gigi the pics of Shane at school. Gigi, clearly benefiting from her pep talk from Marcie, immediately asked him to move out. Gigi added that she and Rex would pick Shane up from school and they would tell him the truth. "This lie will be over," she vowed. Brody didn't like what he was hearing. He insisted that "we are who he wants his parents to be." "I don't need to discuss this with you," Gigi stated, saying she'd take all the blame if Shane became upset. "You don't have a say in this," she told him while heading out of the carriage house.
Starr and Langston were nervous about heading into the gym at Llanview High.
Markko told Cole about Langston's uncle. Starr and Langston tiptoed into the opening assembly. The principal invited the girls in. Starr walked to the front of the room and everyone saw that she was pregnant. "Can whoever knocked up Starr Manning be my buddy?" a student jumped up. A ruckus broke out. Cole and Markko were sent out, which left Starr and Langston awkwardly alone. The principal told the guys to keep their noses clean. Starr took the microphone and gave an impromptu talk. "If you don't want to look like me, if you have a sex, then use a condom," she said to a room full of silent students. "I'm pregnant, I'm not some freak of nature," she added. The principal cut off her microphone. "Miss Manning, a word," she said. The principal didn't appreciate Starr hijacking the assembly. She hinted that Starr's future at Llanview High was uncertain.
Dorian demanded the truth from Ray. "What are you after?" she asked. "Nothing more than getting to know my niece. Is that too much to ask?" he responded.
Ray admitted that he had failed as a brother and as an uncle, "but people change," he added. Dorian said she wasn't going to grant him "the absolution you seek." "What I want, I'll get from Langston," he claimed. Dorian said that she never knew Ray's sister Linda. "How did Langston come to be with you?" he asked. Dorian explained that Langston was Starr's best friend and that Dorian eventually learned that Langston had been living alone. "Langston is family," Dorian said. "Not in any way that counts," Ray countered. He reminded Dorian that he was her only blood relation. "Just say it. What do you want?" Dorian asked again. "It is time for me to take over the raising of my niece," he replied. Dorian showed Ray the door. "You'll be hearing from me," he said. Dorian made a frantic phone call, desperate to step up the adoption procedure and "get the dirt on Ray Montez."
Jared asked Rex where Natalie was. Rex told Jared that Natalie was "a jackass magnet. She finally dumped you and moved one." Jared showed Rex the Dear John letter. He thought it was odd that Natalie didn't call anyone to say goodbye. "Maybe she's taking some time off," Rex guessed. Jared asked Rex for help in looking for her. Rex suggested they give her the space "she's asking for in this letter."
Jared showed Roxy and Charlie the letter. Roxy thought it was odd they hadn't heard from Natalie. Jared wondered if he should just give up. Charlie reminded his son that he had gone through hell to be with Natalie. "Either you love her enough to fight for her or you don't," Charlie said. "Go find her."
Adriana called Rex from Paris. She suggested they go away together to "fix their problems." Rex wasn't interested. "I want a divorce," he said without missing a beat. Adriana was clearly upset that Rex didn't even want to try to save their marriage. "I love you, Rex," she pleaded. "Tell me you love me too." Rex couldn't do that, but insisted that had nothing to do with Gigi. "The lies are over. You've know for a long time that I'm Shane's father," he said. Adriana kept begging for a second chance, but Rex stood firm. He finally admitted he was in love with Gigi. Gigi arrived at Rex's door and he quickly hung up on Adriana. "We need to tell Shane the truth today," she said.
Adriana immediately called Brody and read him the riot act for not keeping Gigi and Rex apart. Adriana taunted him. "You've ruined that little boy's life," she said. "Shut up!" a clearly crazed Brody said as he began to tear apart the carriage house.
Tess told Natalie again that her plan was to make Jared fall in love with her.
"You really have lost it," Natalie laughed. Tess rattled off all of Natalie's exes. "Jared can't stand you," Natalie reminded her. Tess clarified her plan. "He's going to fall head over heels for Jessica," she said. "It will never fly. He's going to figure this out," Natalie insisted. Tess said she now has lots of time "to wield my magic, now that you are out of the way." Natalie fought back by saying Nash would be upset by her behavior. Tess was very upset at hearing Nash's name and countered by saying that if Jessica had wanted to come out, she would have been out already. "She wants me to do this," Tess declared. Tess kept reminding Natalie that Nat and Jared had killed Nash. Tess said she'd just suffer through seducing Jared and in fact would ask him to be her birthing coach.
Friday
Todd said goodnight to Marty, who was sleeping peacefully. Marty dreamt that John was sitting at the foot of her bed. Marty told dreamJohn that she should be afraid of him. She noted that Todd had been good to her and they were going to start a new life. "Todd's all I have," she said. "How do you know that?" dreamJohn asked. He wanted Marty to play their favorite song with him. "Do you remember this song from your past?" he asked. "The music comes from something deep inside," she said. Marty imagined kissing John.
Actual John, who was on a plane to start searching for Cristian, imagined that Marty was sitting next to him. Figment Marty told him that Todd didn't like the fact that John and Blair were sleeping together. "Neither of us is in a hurry," John explained about his relationship with Blair. "Then why am I here," imaginary Marty asked. "I'm not sure," he replied. "You are getting closer to Blair and you are getting closer to me too," she said. "What does that mean?" John wondered. Figment Marty vanished.
Rex was surprised when Gigi told him she wanted to tell Shane the truth — that Rex is his father — today. Brody, she noted, didn't take the news of her plan all that well. Gigi let Rex know that she knew that Adriana had known that Shane was his son. Rex figured out that Adriana had given Brody the famous toothbrush with Rex's DNA. Rex said that if he had just known all about this he would never have married Adriana. "The truth comes out today, Balsom," Gigi said with a smile. "I told Adriana I wanted a divorce," he reported. Roxy charged in with concerns about Natalie. She wondered why Rex wasn't hunting for Natalie, and hoped Nat would come back soon. "She's crazy about Jared," Roxy said. Once Roxy left, Gigi and Rex made love.
Brody pounded back some drinks as he sat in the carriage house he had practically destroyed. Marcie knocked on the door looking for Gigi. "Gigi's not here," Brody barked. "What happened?" Marcie asked when she looked around the living room. "You did this. Do you have any idea what you've done to me?" Brody screamed, invading Marcie's personal space. He accused Marcie of brainwashing Gigi. "Shane is my responsibility. I need Shane and Shane needs me," he yelled. Marcie tried to remind him that he wasn't Shane's father.
"Don't you say that!" he screamed. A nervous Marcie tried to convince him that he could still have a relationship with Shane. Brody threw his bottle against the wall. Marcie thought she should call Gigi. "Don't do that," he yelled, grabbing her phone. Brody knocked Marcie out. He then found his locked box, opened it, took out a gun and headed upstairs.
Doggie David Vickers barked at Tess. Tina and Tess accepted the fact that they had to keep each other's secrets. (That Jess was Tess and that Tina had double-crossed Carlo and had the jewels.) Tess asked Tina to work on Jared.
"Not like that," Tess said when Tina thought she meant something untoward.
"I need you to convince him he has to give up on Natalie." Tess left the house. Tina found a key on the floor. "Hmm. What have we here?" she wondered. Jared charged into the kitchen. "Any word from Natalie while I was gone?" he asked breathlessly. Tina said they hadn't heard anything. She wondered if Natalie might be with Viki. Jared had left messages for Viki but hadn't heard back. Natalie watched from the secret room as Jared agonized to Tina over her disappearance.
Todd found Tess sitting at his desk. He wasn't interested in hearing about Tess' problems with Tina. Tess showed Todd her idea for a cover. It was an image of Natalie and Jared with a big "SPLIT" headline written on it. "Why would I print this?" Todd asked as he demanded she leave. "What did you do to Natalie?"
Todd wondered when Tess told him that Nat was missing. Todd made it clear that he knew all about "your little project in the basement." He asked if Natalie was in the basement. "If I were you, Todd, I'd stop asking questions. If not, I'll start asking questions about Marty Saybrooke," Tess replied. "How is Llanview's favorite rape victim?" Todd threatened to rip her head off if she said a word about Marty to anyone. "I can't believe it. You've actually fallen for her," Tess said. Emboldened, Tess asked probing questions. "Todd's got a new girlfriend," she sang. Todd didn't deny it, which surprised her. Tess wondered how long Todd could keep John from finding Marty. She pointed out the sickness of the Todd/Marty relationship, and predicted that Marty would hate him once she remembers everything. Todd said he and Marty were going away. Tess warned that Todd best run her cover in the Sun, or she'd tell Marty all about the past she really had with Todd.
Natalie tried to break the glass window in her secret room but couldn't get out. She started to sob as she watched the closed-circuit television. Jared explained to Tina that they both felt guilty about what had happened to Nash. "You don't think that letter is for real, do you?" Tina asked. She assured Jared that "the two of you will find your way back together, no matter who is trying to pull you apart." "What do you mean by that?" Jared asked. Tina tried to explain herself without telling the whole truth.
Roxy charged into the kitchen and told Jared that Natalie always came back after they had had fights when she was a child. Nat listened intently. Roxy headed out to work. Doggie David Vickers started sniffing by the basement door. Tina handed Jared the key. Jared opened the basement door as Tess returned home. "What the hell is going on here?" she said furiously.
