One Life To Live Recaps

OLTL Week of October 8, 2007

Monday

Michael, Marcie, Todd and Blair gathered at the courthouse upon hearing that the judge had reached a decision. Todd was anxious about the judge's ruling and made a surprising offer to Michael and Marcie to share custody of Tommy. Marcie balked at his offer, then berated Michael for keeping the truth from her about Tommy. Meanwhile, things were getting hot and heavy between John and Marty up on Llantano Mountain when John got the call from his brother about the custody case.

At La Boulaie, Starr and Cole came upon Dorian frantically looking for her car keys. They asked what the emergency was, but she said she just had to run out for a bit. Dorian asked Starr and Cole what they think about Langston's parents never being around — they admitted that it was strange, but that Langston was managing. Their house is spotless, so their cleaning lady clearly stops by a lot, Starr noted. Dorian found her spare set of keys and headed off on her mysterious mission. Starr and Cole couldn't decide what to order for dinner, so Cole decided to wow Starr with his cooking skills.

Natalie introduced BE's newest employee to Clint and explained that she hired Jared. Clint seemed to think it a little strange that Natalie would make a hiring decision without him. Jared tried his best to win over Clint, who remarked to Natalie that they would continue this conversation later. Jared continued to antagonize Natalie, then suggested that they take a break from work and head over to Capricorn for the big Timbaland concert. She pointed out that it's good for Cristian that such a big act is playing there, which prompted Jared to ask if Cris is an ex or a friend. Natalie explained that Cristian is actually her ex-husband and a good friend. "You've been busy!" Jared marveled.

At Capricorn, Sarah was anxious for Timbaland's arrival and made sure everything was in its place. Rex complained to Cristian and Sarah that Ultraviolet is really better equipped to handle a show of this magnitude. Antonio asked Talia why she didn't tell him that George was really Shaun, while Layla advised Shaun to keep his paws off Talia unless she wants him to touch her. Vincent asked Layla why the big charade, and she explained that as a cop, Talia needs to keep the facade of having a boyfriend so as to avoid trouble with other guys. Rex and Adriana were amused and a little surprised to hear about Talia and Shaun. Meanwhile, Talia explained to Antonio that she was afraid he wouldn't approve of "George" since he and Vincent and Shaun have history. Antonio assured her that it's all water under the bridge and he's glad that she's happy. Antonio and Cristian couldn't help but be impressed by Sarah when she announced that Timbaland and his entourage had just pulled into the parking lot.

Langston fretted about what to wear to meet Markko's parents for the first time. Markko assured her that they would love her as much as he does. Langston told him not to throw "that word" around, but he repeated his statement, making it clear that he loves her. They made out for a while on the sofa, then Langston kicked him out so she could get ready. Just moments after he left, Dorian showed up and informed Langston that she knows the truth about her parents.

Everyone finally gathered in the courtroom and the judge prepared to announce his decision. He explained that he'd had reservations about Todd as a parent, but that his marriage to Blair — although conveniently timed — demonstrated that he is committed to building a family unit. At the same time, the judge recognized that Marcie and Michael legally adopted Tommy and have a fitting home for the boy. The decision he was about to deliver was made in light of what's best for the child, he told the anxious courtroom.

Tuesday

Jessica was amused to find Nash "raising the roof" at home while listening
to his iPod. Nash informed Jess that he was getting ready for their date to
see Timbaland that night at Capricorn. Jessica was reluctant because of
Antonio. Nash asked if this meant Capricorn was off-limits for good. "Pretty
much," she told him.

The judge told the courtroom that while Michael and Marcie had been
exemplary parents, Todd had made every effort possible to find and know his
son. Todd gloated upon hearing the judge announce that he was awarding
custody of Tommy to Todd, while Marcie broke down. The judge advised Todd
that it might be in the child's best interest to help him maintain a
relationship with the McBains. "Yeah, whatever," barked Todd, who just
wanted to take Tommy home. The judge informed Michael and Marcie that a
police escort would be at their home to make sure the transfer of Tommy
would go smoothly. Todd overheard Marcie say something to Michael about how
long he'd known. Marcie, meanwhile, blamed Michael for their predicament and
lamented that she doesn't have a home without Tommy. Todd remarked to John
that it seems that Michael knew all along and kept the truth to himself,
which means he perjured himself and might very well end up in the slammer.
Their conversation was interrupted by a Social Services worker who was going
to oversee the transfer.

At Capricorn, Shaun brought his new "girlfriend" a martini and joked that he
hopes she likes it dirty. Antonio invited them to sit at his table and asked
Talia to explain once again how they met. Natalie introduced Jared to
Cristian, who wondered if they were dating. Natalie laughed and noted that
they were far from it. Sarah introduced Timbaland and Keri Hilson to the
crowd. "Llanview in the house!" Timbaland called out after a rousing
performance of "The Way I Are." Cristian and Antonio gave Sarah props for
getting Timbaland to play at the club. Natalie thought that Jared was
insulting her and Asa by remarking that they never even went to college, so
she poured a drink in his lap.

Langston didn't want to talk about her parents, but Dorian insisted on
staying and discussing the matter. Dorian told her it's time to face the
truth — that her parents are never coming home because they're dead.
Langston fought back tears. Dorian explained that she called the
organization that was giving her parents an award and learned that her
parents were killed in a car crash in Vietnam — 18 months ago. Dorian
explained that she could relate to Langston's situation and asked how she
found out. Langston recalled making a welcome-home sign when she received a
phone call that her parents had been killed in a car crash on the way to the
airport. She started to cry as she remembered hearing the news from a
stranger. "Let it out," Dorian advised the teen. Langston said it wasn't
that hard to forge her parents' signature and pay the bills, so she kept up
the ruse to stay out of foster care. Dorian admired her strength, but said
she doesn't think her parents would want her living alone. Langston lamented
that she had nowhere else to go, but Dorian reminded her that's not the
case.

Over at La Boulaie, Starr worried about the future of her family, and Cole
assured her that he would be there to support her. They started making out,
but were interrupted by Blair returning home with diapers and things for the
baby. Starr was thrilled to hear that they won the custody case.

Roxy knew what happened at the courthouse when she saw Michael and Marcie
return home with long faces. When they were alone, Marcie just wouldn't let
the issue of her lying husband go and refused to be in the room with him
when he said good-bye to Tommy. Michael went to be alone with Tommy and
delivered a heartfelt speech about always being there for him. Marcie
requested some alone time with the tot and slammed the door in Michael's
face. When Todd and the cops showed up to take Tommy home, Michael was
locked out. Meanwhile, One Republic took the stage at Capricorn, setting off
a musical montage involving Langston crying and looking at a photo of her
parents, Timbaland bopping his head to the band and John despairing over the
Tommy situation when suddenly Todd kicked down the door to Marcie's
apartment and discovered that Tommy was missing. Meanwhile, Marcie was
driving into the night with the tot.

Wednesday

Dorian assured Langston that she's not alone and tried to tell her that
things would work out. Langston didn't want to hear it and tearfully ran
upstairs. Bo found John alone in the courtroom and asked what happened. John
informed him that Todd won custody of Tommy. Meanwhile, Starr, Jack and
Blair rejoiced over the news. Over at Angel Square, Todd realized that
Marcie had kidnapped his son. The cops went off to look for her, but Marcie
was already in the car with Tommy. "We're just going for a little ride," she
told the unknowing tot.

Dorian insisted to Langston that it was time to face her fears. She asked
why Langston kept her secret from Starr. Langston explained that if she told
anyone her parents were dead, it would have made the situation real. Markko
rang the doorbell and was surprised to see Dorian answer. He was concerned
that Langston hadn't answered her cell phone, and he refused to go anywhere
until he knew she was okay. He barged in and found Langston looking
distraught. Dorian advised Langston to tell Markko what was troubling her,
and left them alone. She explained that there was an accident and that her
parents are dead. She started to cry and he held her. Dorian told Markko
that Langston probably didn't feel like going over the details at the
moment, so Langston didn't tell him anything else. Dorian wanted her to come
back to La Boulaie, so Markko told her he loved her and would check on her
later. Langston admitted to Dorian that she didn't know what to say to
Markko.

Jack wanted to make a cake for the baby and give him some of his old toys
and books. As Jack and Blair ran off to get things ready for the baby, Cole
remarked to Starr that he couldn't help but feel sorry for Marcie. Starr
told Cole to keep his feelings to himself. Cole assured her that he was on
her side, but he just couldn't help but be concerned for both sides. Jack
and Blair returned and were impressed that Cole can bake as well as cook.
Cole decided to give Starr some alone time with her family and headed out.
Jack noted that it was getting late, so Blair sent him upstairs to get ready
for bed. Starr and Blair started to wonder what was taking so long.

Marcie told Tommy that they'd buy anything he needs "whenever they get where
they're going." Marcie didn't seem to really know where that was but assured
the child that they were going on a big adventure. "I just couldn't hand you
over to Todd," she cried. "I couldn't let you go."

Todd accused Michael of aiding Marcie in the kidnapping, noting that's why
he gave her time alone with the child. He even accused the social services
worker of being in on it. When Todd called Marcie insane, Michael leapt at
his throat, but a police officer broke it off and informed them that
Marcie's car was gone from the parking lot. Todd told the cops to get their
heads out of their butts and search for that kid.

John explained to Bo that the judge ruled in favor of Todd because he could
provide a "stable family unit or something like that." Bo cracked that you
don't often hear "stable" and Todd's name in the same sentence. John feels
it is wrong to tear a child away from the only family he'd ever known. Bo
pointed out to John that he needs to stay out of it, as much as it hurts. Bo
and John both received word that Marcie and Tommy were missing and headed to
Michael's apartment. There, Michael explained to his brother what happened.
John told Michael that Marcie's just been going through a hard time and will
come back. When he started to ask questions, Bo reminded John that it's not
his case. Michael tried calling Marcie, but she ignored her ringing cell
phone. Todd insisted to Bo that the McBains are in on it and that Michael
should be arrested, just as Marcie heard sirens behind her. The emergency
vehicles sped past Marcie's car much to her relief.

Bo didn't think Marcie and Michael had planned the kidnapping, but commanded
the cops to put out an APB on Marcie since she'd been gone for two hours.
Todd confronted Michael about his prior knowledge of Tommy's paternity and
called Michael and Marcie criminals. If Marcie goes over state lines, then
the FBI will get involved, Todd pointed out. Marcie, meanwhile, took an exit
for the New Jersey Turnpike. John advised Michael to try calling Marcie
again. She finally picked up, much to Michael's relief, while Todd anxiously
stood nearby.

Now officially worried, Blair and Starr called Todd but just got his
voicemail. They thought. When they heard footsteps in the kitchen, they
thought Todd had returned home, but it was Dorian escorting Langston home.
Starr took one look at Langston and knew something was wrong.

Thursday

Natalie stormed into the office, still mad at Jared for his comments about
her family at Capricorn. Jared advised her to go home and get some rest. She
accused him of trying to get rid of her. Things escalated and Jared griped
that he'd never have Natalie's job because his last name isn't Buchanan.
Natalie explained that she got where she is because Asa took a chance on her
and saw that she had a genuine interest in the company, but Jared didn't
need to hear it — he'd done his research on Natalie Balsom Buchanan
Vega etc. Jared then explained that he was a bartender trying to get his MBA
when Tess set him up, but that he would never let something like a little
prison time stop him from getting what he wants. Nat felt a pang of sympathy
and asked if they could call a truce. He agreed, they shook on it, and he
shocked her with a kiss. Nat freaked out and fired him but he came back with
a threat, reminding her that he could call the Atlantic City cops anytime.
She said she wasn't scared of his threats and kicked him out. "You'll regret
it," Jared smirked.

Nora found Clint alone in the living room and was surprised — she
thought he had a date with Dorian. Clint explained that something important
came up and that he understood. Nora asked if things were getting serious
with Dorian. He said he enjoyed her company and that he keeps her on her
toes. Nora admitted that she still envisions Clint with Viki. Clint
countered that he still sees Nora with Bo. Nora apologized for
cross-examining her friend. Clint asked if she'd thought about his offer to
stay at the Buchanan manse. Nora was about to answer when Matthew and Nigel
walked in. Matthew explained that he enjoys living with the Buchanans and
hearing stories about Asa and that the mansion had truly become his home.
Renee overheard and pitched in that she feels Matthew and Nora should stay,
so Nora finally agreed.

Langston explained to Starr and Blair that her parents aren't ever coming
home and that she'd been lying to them. "My parents are dead," she admitted.
Dorian asked Langston to tell them exactly what she told Dorian. Starr
couldn't believe that Langston had been living on her own. Langston cried
when she remembered the things she wanted to share with her parents and
never could. When Langston heard that the Mannings had won custody of Tommy,
she felt bad that she was putting a damper on their celebration and wanted
to leave, but Dorian insisted she stay. Langston gave Dorian a lingering
thank-you hug and Blair assured the girl that she was more than welcome in
their home. After the girls went upstairs, Blair thanked Dorian for
prompting Langston to tell the truth.

Marcie explained to Michael that she couldn't just hand over Tommy to Todd.
He understood but advised her to come home with Tommy pronto. John got on
the phone and told Marcie that Bo would be willing to make a deal if she
came back now. Todd overheard and yelled, "What deal?!" John handed the
phone over to Michael, who continued to gently plead with Marcie to return.
"What do I have to come home to?" she asked. Michael assured her that they
would get through this and that he loves her, but when Marcie heard Todd
yelling she told Michael she'd call him back. Michael pulled John aside and
asked if Marcie could get sent to jail, but John couldn't promise his
brother anything. Meanwhile, Marcie debated what to do and finally settled
on a course of action. She called Michael back and was about to tell him
something when Todd jumped on and demanded she bring home his son. She cried
that he'd never get his son back and hung up, then put on some music to calm
both herself and Tommy. She told Tommy they were doing the right thing as
they passed a "Welcome to New Jersey" sign. Todd returned home to tell Blair
that Marcie kidnapped Tommy, but vowed that he'd get the child back no
matter what it takes. Meanwhile, Marcie showed up at someone's door and said
she needed their help.

Friday

John suggested that the cops look for Marcie's car at used car lots in the tri-state area. John and Bo explained to Michael that if Marcie crossed state lines with Tommy, that becomes a felony kidnapping and a federal offense. Meanwhile, Marcie was hiding out at her brother Ron's apartment in New Jersey. He tried his best to persuade her to call Michael and tell him what's going on, but she refused. Back in Llanview, Todd took matters into his own hands and called someone to go after Marcie, then he went over to the Angel Square Hotel to check on the cops' progress. He wasn't impressed with the "command central" that had been set up in Michael's suite. Michael phoned Ron, who lied that he hadn't seen or heard from Marcie but would call if he did. Todd didn't believe that Ron hadn't been in contact with Marcie. A call came in that a car like Marcie's was traded in at a used car lot near Buffalo. While they checked out the lead, Todd swiped a document from the table and slipped away. John assured Michael that Todd was no closer to finding Marcie than they were, but privately admitted to Bo that he believes Todd saw or heard something that made him take off in pursuit of Marcie.

Clint called Dorian again and was upset that he hadn't heard from her. When Natalie walked in looking chipper, she explained that she fired Jared. Clint wondered if Nat was being just a bit hasty, but Nigel piped in that he didn't have a good feeling about Jared when he came by to meet Renee. Natalie was upset to hear that Jared had been by the house and assured Clint that Jared was not worth their time. After Natalie left, Nora asked if there was any sexual tension(!) between Natalie and Jared. Nigel remarked that Jared has an awful lot of confidence when it comes to the opposite sex. Nigel excused himself, and Nora pried into why Clint puts up with Dorian. Clint declared that he was done tracking Dorian down and deserved a little common courtesy. Nora was thrilled to hear it, so they decided to cook a celebratory breakfast.

Jared, meanwhile, showed up at Jessica and Nash's door and said he was there on a friendly visit. It didn't take long for him to threaten Jessica by calling the Atlantic City cops on her. Jess said she could handle whatever he has to throw at her and warned him to stop harassing Natalie, just as Nat arrived and told Jared to "bring it on," Nash told Jared to mosey on outta there.

At La Boulaie, Blair told Dorian that she wasn't sending the girls to school today. Blair asked if Dorian was going to contact Social Services about Langston, but Dorian wanted to wait. Upstairs, Langston was awake looking at the photo of her parents again. Starr offered her support. Langston confided to Starr that Markko told her he loved her and that she's worried about how he'll feel when he learns that she's been lying to him about her parents. Starr assured her that he and everyone else would be there for her. Starr left Langston alone, and the orphan resumed looking at the photo just as Dorian knocked. Dorian wanted to know if there were any relatives she should notify. Langston explained that her parents were only children and their parents are dead, so there'd been no funeral or memorial service. Langston remarked that things had gotten better when Markko became a part of her life and that she was worried about what he'd think when she tells him the truth.

Starr came down for breakfast and Blair told her that Tommy was missing. Starr feared this might send Todd off the deep end and couldn't believe Marcie would do something like run off with a kid, which she admitted was more Todd's style. Starr joined Langston in the TV room, while Blair admitted to Dorian that she wasn't ready for a Todd crisis so soon into their marriage. Starr returned and blindsided her mom with a suggestion: "Langston should live with us!"

Despite much pleading from Ron, Marcie remained determined to keep running so that she could stay with Tommy. Ron agreed to help her but only if she called Michael. Marcie claimed she has no reason to call or return home to Michael since he lied to her. Michael confided to John that this was all his fault, that Marcie was running away from him because he kept the truth from her. Meanwhile, Ron asked Marcie if she was really ready to throw her marriage away by running. "I can't go back to him, and I will not hand my son over to Todd Manning," she declared, just as Todd showed up at a door that looked very much like Ron's.
