One Life To Live Recaps
OLTL Week of October 4, 2010
Monday
Starr helped Dani pack for Tahiti and tried to be supportive, but Dani was upset and didn't want to leave. Dani described a life that didn't sound so bad with Ross, but said she'd trade it for one day in Llanview with the people she's come to love. Nate desperately tried to get past the cops to see Dani, while James scaled the house and knocked on Dani's window. Starr assumed James was there to see her, but James announced that he's there to help Dani.
Just as Shaun was advising Destiny to stay away from Cherryvale, John burst into the room where Greg's mystery patient was supposed to be staying and found Greg lying unconscious on the floor. Meanwhile, Téa got her hands on a cell phone and called Todd, who recognized her voice right away, but the nurse found her with the phone and grabbed it away from her before Téa could say anything more than "Todd." The nurse reminded her that Greg's orders were for Téa to not have a phone. "Why is Greg doing this to me?" Téa cried, just as the Caribbean doctors were working to revive Greg. At Rodi's, Shaun admitted to Destiny that he believes their brother is definitely hiding something but it'd be best if Destiny keeps out of it. Destiny shared Darren's theory that Greg's on drugs, but Darren piped in and told her he agrees that Shaun can handle this without them getting involved.
At Llanfair, Viki heard Charlie at the door with a strange woman calling her husband "Chuckles" and found Charlie embraced in a hug with the blonde. Charlie introduced his "old pal" to Viki, who already knew the woman. "Echo DiSavoy," she said, not sounding too thrilled, then flashed back to a conversation from the '80s in which Viki told Echo she doesn't trust her at all. Viki then explained to Charlie that Echo slept with Clint while they were married and it took a long time after Echo was gone to heal their marriage. Echo revealed that she's slept with two of Viki's husbands, referring to Clint and Charlie. Viki maintained her composure as she asked what exactly Echo is doing in town. Echo said she just wanted to check up on Chuckles and proposed that she and Viki finally bury the hatchet. Echo then took a snapshot of the pair and said she'd be in touch.
After his baffling call with Téa, Todd told Blair what had just happened, but Blair said it was impossible that Téa was on the other end. Blair responded to the ruckus outside Todd's and demanded that the cops let Nate in, while Todd called the strange phone number back. The nurse answered and insisted that it was she who'd just called a wrong number, but Todd wasn't convinced. Nate headed upstairs to see Dani and the teens devised a plan to get her out of the house unseen, but Dani was uncertain about what she wanted to do. Ross showed up ready to claim his daughter. Blair pleaded with Ross to reconsider his decision to take Dani to Tahiti. Starr emerged and made the same argument. Ross rushed upstairs to find no trace of Dani or her friends.
Shaun arrived at the Cherryvale Clinic and asked a nurse where he could find Dr. Evans. She directed him to a patient's room nearby, but he was promptly stonewalled by Téa's nurse. In the Caribbean, a medical team frantically worked on Greg, while John asked a nurse to look at a photo of Eli. She recognized Eli as the man Greg had been treating there until recently. John phoned in an APB on Eli, alerting authorities that he's not so dead after all. A doctor informed John and Detective Price that Greg received a lethal dose of morphine and may not make it. Shaun called his brother and was shocked to hear Price answer Greg's phone. Price informed Shaun that his brother is in bad shape and they're at a clinic in the Caribbean. Shaun returned to Rodi's and gave Destiny the bad news that Greg is in the hospital. In Cherryvale, Téa became agitated and called out for help. Her nurse responded by giving Téa a pill, which Téa removed from under her tongue when the nurse was gone. Back in Llanview, Todd stared at the urn supposedly containing his wife's ashes.
Tuesday
Ford called out to James and assumed when he didn't get an answer that his brother was asleep. Once Ford was gone, however, Dani and James emerged from the bedroom. Ford returned and James quickly hid Dani, but Ford spotted the two bowls of cereal and asked what's going on. Ford assumed that James had Starr in the bedroom and called out for Starr to show herself, but was shocked to see Dani instead. Ford jumped to the conclusion that Dani and James are sleeping together, but James corrected Ford that he's helping Dani hide. James scolded his kid brother for bringing trouble like this to their home.
Vivian was at Shaun's side as he received a call alerting him that Greg had been transferred to Llanview. Jessica arrived for an appointment with Dr. Wright and told Shaun how sorry she is to hear about his brother. Destiny and Mrs. Evans rushed into the hospital as Greg was being brought to the ER and questioned John about how this happened. While Destiny was with Greg, John explained to Shaun and Mrs. Evans that Elijah Clarke is alive and that Greg was hiding him. Mrs. Evans was furious, saying there's no way her son would help a criminal like that, but Shaun acknowledged that Greg has been acting very strange lately. Destiny talked to her comatose brother, while Shaun told his mom that Greg must have had a perfectly good reason to help Eli. Mrs. Evans looked very nervous as Shaun suggested that Greg may have some debts or other troubles they don't know about. Later, Mrs. Evans visited Greg's bedside and whispered that she may know the reason why he had to help Eli.
At Jessica's prenatal appointment, Dr. Wright double-checked her blood pressure and asked if she's been experiencing any dizziness. Jessica said she had experienced some, but chalked it up being pregnant, then admitted that things were a little tense with Brody since she confessed that he might not be the baby's father. Dr. Wright summoned Brody to her office and explained that Jessica has high blood pressure and needs to go on bed rest, so any sources of stress need to be controlled. Brody was concerned but vowed to take the best care of Jessica that he can.
At the police station, Ross became agitated as he pointed fingers at Brody, Todd and Nate for Dani's disappearance. When Ross reminded them that Dani had help from a boy when she escaped boarding school, Todd looked in Nate's direction. Brody asked Nate if he had anything to do with Dani's disappearance, but Nate lied that he didn't. Todd pulled Nate aside and asked if he knows where Dani is, but Nate kept his mouth shut. Ross interrupted and noted that Todd and Nate suddenly seem very buddy-buddy, so Todd covered by grabbing Nate and threatening him.
Back at Todd's, Cole accused Starr of lying to him. Starr made it clear that she had to be quiet around the cops, but Cole wouldn't let up, so she whispered that Dani is with James. Cole couldn't contain his jealousy as he went on about how Starr is supposed to stay away from James. Nate returned from the LPD and urged Starr to call James just so he can know that Dani is okay. "Do what you have to do, Starr," Cole said with an eye roll. Ross, meanwhile, headed for the docks. After he left Dani a message urging her to call him, Ross ran right into his brother. "Where's Dani?" Eli anxiously inquired. Cole stormed out of Todd's place as Starr phoned James to check on Dani. At Ford's apartment, everyone froze as Brody knocked on the door and demanded that James answer.
Wednesday
Kelly found Dorian trying to give Blair some sleeping pills since she's been so restless over Dani's disappearance. Todd was dragged in by Dorian's bodyguards and informed them that Eli is alive. Everyone was more concerned than surprised. Once again, Dorian was determined to keep her girls safe and worried that Eli would come after them. Blair was afraid that Eli's already gone after Dani, but Todd said he doesn't believe that's possible and that it's best Dani stay wherever she is. While Todd comforted an anxious Blair, Dorian urged Kelly to give up her quest to bring down her mother's killer.
Brody continued to knock on James's door as Ford, James and Dani nervously looked at each other. Ford bought them some time by claiming to be in a state of undress, while James rushed Dani to the bedroom. Ford answered the door, and Brody immediately sensed that he's hiding something. The guys started arguing about Jessica's condition but agreed it's best to keep their bickering to a minimum for Jess's sake. Before he left, Brody asked Ford to call the station if he hears anything about Dani. James emerged from the bedroom and couldn't believe what he'd heard: His brother could be a father! Ford explained about the night he spent with Jessica and that there's a slight chance her baby is his. Even though Ford claimed to not want anything to do with the baby, James suspected otherwise.
Natalie ran into Cole outside Todd's and showed him the bullet chain she found while doing her sweep of the "crime" scene. When she asked Cole if he recognized it, he clearly did, saying only a "total jackass" would wear something that stupid. Natalie asked him to identify the wearer. "Ask Starr," Cole shrugged and walked off. Natalie showed the necklace to Starr, who pretended not to recognize the piece of jewelry. Natalie made the connection that the bullet was fired from a .38, just like the gun Starr used when she accidentally shot James. Starr admitted that James wore that necklace as a reminder of their time together and threw it at her when they were arguing outside Todd's the night before.
At Marty's, Hannah came across some confidential patient notes on Brody Lovett and discovered that he's been lying about something. Marty came home and flipped out when she saw Hannah with her hands on the case files. Hannah claimed she was just cleaning up and knocked them over by accident. Marty seemed perturbed nonetheless. When Cole stopped by later, Hannah was thrilled to see him. He apologized for avoiding her and said he's not sure he can keep his distance, especially since Starr didn't follow up her on promise to stay away from James. Cole then planted a kiss on Hannah, just as Starr appeared at James's door.
At the LPD, Nora brought her busy husband lunch, and Bo caught her up on Dani's disappearance. They agreed that they both need some time away from work, and sneaked out of the office together. Marty ran into Brody outside John's office and offered to counsel him again. When Natalie asked Marty why she's there to see John, Marty brushed her off and just explained, "It's personal." Brody revealed to Nat that he'd confided to Marty about his Jessica problems, but that he hadn't said anything about him and Natalie. He promised that their secret is safe with him. Natalie said she doesn't care how nice Marty is; she doesn't trust the shrink and wants Brody to get a new therapist.
Eli confronted Ross at the docks and was furious that his ominous plan was ruined. Ross wondered why his brother is so upset about Dani running off when he's the one who raised her and won custody. Eli explained that he needs money and they can use Dani to squeeze Todd for every penny he has. Ross was unsure about the plan and made it clear that he won't leave Dani in Todd's care again. That's not the plan, explained Eli, who promised that Ross would get Dani back after Todd pays up. Ross started to call the police under the guise of wanting to check on the search for Dani, but Eli didn't trust him and aimed a gun at his brother. "I killed Téa, just like I'm going to kill you," Eli coldly stated. Ross was sickened to hear this, but Eli followed through on his threat and shot Ross in the stomach. Ross fell to the ground, still conscious. "I really am sorry," Eli told him, then rolled his brother into the water. Just then, Todd arrived and was stunned to find Eli there. Eli swiftly pulled a gun on Todd.
Thursday
After their smooch, Cole admitted to Hannah that he still loves Starr and kissing her only makes his feelings for Starr stronger. Hannah flipped her lid, reminding Cole of all she went through to protect him. They agreed that there was no way to resolve things other than to keep their distance from each other. Meanwhile, Starr reunited with Dani at James's place. Starr returned the bullet necklace to James, who was greatly relieved, and explained that her CSI-savvy cousin found the necklace during her sweep of Todd's house. Starr suggested that Dani hide out in another location and offered Todd's boat. While Dani was packing, James admitted that he only helped Dani to be closer to Starr. They were about to kiss when Dani returned.
On the docks, Eli pulled a gun on Todd, who happened to have a gun of his own. A verbal confrontation ensued, and when Eli vowed to get his hands on Dani, Todd shot Eli point-blank. Eli hit the ground, but sprang up to throw a few punches at Todd before running off with his gun. Todd heard a splash in the water and saw Ross struggling to get out. He hesitated to pull him out and asked why he shouldn't just let Ross die. Ultimately, he pulled Ross to the docks, reasoning that it's for Dani.
At the station, John had to share the bad news with Marty that Eli is alive. Nate was shocked to hear this news, as well. Bo and Nora were basking in the afterglow of their midday lovemaking when they both received a call letting them know about Eli. Back at the station, Inez was not happy to find Nate being questioned by John. After some nagging from Inez, however, Nate admitted that he helped Dani get away.
Viki paid Clint a visit at BE to alert him to Echo's presence in town. They acknowledged that Echo ultimately had nothing to do with their divorce but is a threat nonetheless. She explained that Echo has a history with Charlie, who she lovingly calls "Chuckles." Clint was somewhat amused by this, but remained supportive of Viki. At Rodi's, Charlie ran into Echo and asked if she's in Llanview to stir up more trouble for Viki. Echo insisted that she doesn't want to break up Charlie and Viki because that would hurt her dear pal Charlie. As they were laughing and reminiscing about Atlantic City, Viki walked up.
Ford arrived to BE and asked Clint if he can really get his job back at LU. "Shouldn't you be saying ‘Thank you, Mr. Buchanan?' " Clint noted. Ford asked just what Clint's intentions are toward Inez, and was stunned as Clint made Ford's sexual harassment charge go away with one phone call. Clint called Inez after Ford was gone, and said he needs to see her tonight so that he can give her some good news.
Starr and Dani arrived at the marina where Todd keeps his boat, and Starr handed off the keys to Dani. John arrived at James's apartment with Nate looking for Dani. Meanwhile, Dani discovered Todd crouching over Ross, who had just lost consciousness, and got the wrong impression. Starr returned to her apartment, which is apparently very close to the marina, and saw blood in the hallway. Naturally, she opened the door — and came face to face with Eli.
Friday
At Rodi's, Viki and Echo faced off for the second time this week as Viki asked Echo why she hasn't ended her trip to Llanview yet. Echo claimed she has "all kinds of business" to attend to and explained that one order of business is making amends to Clint. Viki remained distrustful and pressed Echo to admit why she's really in town. Echo claimed she wants something from Viki: a photographer gig at Viki's newspaper, The Banner. Viki was skeptical and asked for the check. When Viki was gone, Echo ordered a stiff drink.
Téa hallucinated that Todd and Dani were standing over her and happily told them she's going to live. When the nurse came in, she asked where her family went, but the nurse explained that they were never there. The nurse stepped out to call Greg and ask him why Téa can't just make a quick call to her family. When she returned, she assured Téa that Todd had been there just days earlier and would most likely return to visit her. When Téa asked if Greg had gone back to "the States," she was surprised to hear that they're not in St. Kitt's. Once the nurse was out of the room, Téa wondered out loud why Greg lied to her.
Darren watched from outside Greg's hospital room as Destiny begged her brother to wake up. Meanwhile, Detective Price reminded Shaun that when Greg wakes up, he's going to have to answer to the cops. Destiny helped Price access Greg's voicemail and he heard the message about Greg's "patient" wanting to contact her family. They all assumed the patient was Eli. Shaun visited his unconscious brother and urged him to wake up soon and shed some light on this Eli mystery. Shaun recalled how their mother seemed to know something about why Greg helped Eli but was keeping quiet. To Shaun's delight, Greg's eyelids began to flutter and he whispered one word: Téa. In Cherryvale, Téa asked her nurse where they are and was shocked to hear that she's so close to home.
Dani found Todd on the docks just as Ross breathed his last breath and assumed that Todd killed him. Todd insisted to Dani that Eli is alive and shot Ross, but she didn't believe him. Dani phoned in the shooting to the cops, then ran off before Todd could take her to his boat. John arrived with one of his officers and told Todd to stay put as he checked Ross's pulse. Todd explained that Eli shot his own brother and dumped him in the river. Surprisingly, John bought his story. Nate arrived and the three of them wondered where Dani could have run off to.
Starr was horrified to find Eli in her apartment and wanted to know where her daughter and babysitter are. Eli warned her not to go into the bedroom, but Starr went to retrieve Hope and found the sitter dead on the floor. She tried to reason with Eli, who was quickly losing blood, and stalled by saying she needs to pack up Hope's stuff before they go anywhere. Eli cracked an evil smile when he heard Dani's voice in the hallway. Unaware that Starr was already in danger, James left her a message warning her that Eli's wandering around town. Dani approached Starr's door and cried out, "Ross is dead! Dad killed him!" Dani's face turned from sorrow to horror when a gun-wielding Eli opened the door.
