OLTL Week of October 26, 2009
Monday
The minute Oliver walked into their living room, Cris put his T-shirt on. Oliver called him on it. "What is your type?" Cris asked. "Kyle," he answered. Cris told Oliver that Kyle was settling for Nick. Cris thought that Kyle wanted Oliver to "work for it." Cris analyzed the situation for Oliver. "Kyle and Nick are getting married," Oliver said, which stopped Cris cold. "As in husband and husband?" Cris asked. Cris reminded Oliver that it wouldn't be a legal marriage. Oliver changed the subject. Cris admitted he had kissed Layla. "She backed off," Cris explained. Cris explained that
Layla wanted Evangeline's blessing before they could get together. "Well, we are a pair," Oliver said, with a smile. John called Oliver and told him he needed his help. Oliver left immediately.
Layla came home, and Cris and Layla started talking about Oliver and Kyle, but they were really talking about their own relationship. Cris made it clear he didn't want to give up on her.
Nick bought Kyle a tux for the wedding. Kyle modeled the tux for Nick. Nick wondered if Kyle was having second thoughts. "Yes," Kyle admitted. Nick reminded Kyle that the wedding had to be important to him. Nick begged Kyle to come clean and tell him he wasn't ready to go through with this. Nick wanted to make sure Kyle made a choice and gave him the opportunity to change his mind. Kyle thanked Nick for giving him an out. Kyle said he'd freak out no matter who he married, but made it clear he would go through with the wedding tomorrow. Kyle remembered a conversation he had had with Oliver. Oliver showed up at Kyle's door.
Danielle complained to her mother (Téa) that she hates school. "These are not my people," she said. Téa tried to explain that it was time for her to get a real education. Ross walked in on Téa's phone call. Téa lied to Danielle when she asked if that was "Dad" in the background. Ross demanded
to talk to his daughter. Téa hung up the phone. Ross and Téa began to fight over the phone. Ross wanted to get Dani's phone number. Téa got the phone away from Ross, and deleted her address book. Téa smashed a vase over his head.
Todd stopped kissing Blair. "Are you thinking about Téa?" Blair asked. Todd didn't know how he could have missed the fact that Téa was lying to him. Todd thought he had to stop bouncing from one woman to another. Blair didn't think either of them wanted to be alone. They started kissing.
Téa walked in on Todd on top of Blair. "Oh my god," Téa said. "This was a record, even for you two," Téa announced. The two women started to argue. Téa said she needed to see this. "I dodged a bullet," Téa blurted out. Ross walked in. "Don't tell me you are back with this loser?" he asked Blair, pointing at Todd. Téa pulled Ross out of the room before he could let anything leak about a child. Todd didn't think Téa's "big" secret could only be about money.
Todd told Blair that Téa didn't deserve his love. Ross refused to stop badgering Téa about Danielle. "I want her number. You owe me," he said. Téa told Ross that he would have to love his daughter from afar.
Over in England, Matthew apologized for having used Danielle's phone. The two compared notes on who had worse parents. Danielle told Matthew about life on Tahiti. Matthew explained what Bo and Nora had done. Danielle agreed: Matthew's situation was worse. Danielle told Matthew that her mom was a great lawyer. "A total shark," Danielle explained. Danielle reported that it was past curfew and they went back to their respective dorm rooms. An "I kind of like her" grin went over Matthew's face.
Jessica freaked when she got a phone call from Nash. Jessica kept screaming that Nash was calling. Viki and Charlie ran in to help her. Viki tried to calm Jessica down. John showed up and questioned Jessica. She insisted that it was Nash's voice on the other end of the phone. Charlie declared that Jared would never have done this. Jessica started to cry. John said that he had recorded Jessica's call from Nash. Viki and Charlie were shocked to hear that all their phones had been tapped. Oliver set up the equipment and they all listened to Nash's phone call. Viki also thought it sounded like Nash. Jessica began crying. "Why would someone want to hurt me?" Jessica wondered.
John ran the software which proved there was an identical match between Nash's recent conversation with Jessica and one she had saved on her phone. Jessica, Viki and Charlie were stunned.
Tuesday
Langston and Starr told Markko and Cole that they were all expected at Dorian's wedding. Markko didn't really want to go and thought his father "will go nuts" if he saw them on TV. Langston pointed out that Dorian was sacrificing her own happiness for the cause. Markko didn't want to ruin his relationship with his father by going to the wedding. Cole said he wasn't going to the wedding either. They thought the whole wedding was a sham and Dorian was motivated for selfish gain. When Markko predicted the wedding would backfire, Starr reminded the guys that they were fighting for people's civil rights. Langston said she and Starr would go by themselves. The guys changed their minds and the foursome enjoyed some pizza.
Oliver arrived at Kyle's door and asked Kyle if he loved Nick. "Do you want to marry me?" Kyle asked Oliver. Kyle reminded Oliver that Nick was ready to declare his love on national TV. Kyle added that the world was still not all gay friendly. "I want you," Oliver blurted out, begging, "Give us a chance." Kyle tried to explain that he had moved on, with a guy who would hold his hand in public. Nick is what he needs, Kyle added. "Congratulations," Oliver said and he left Kyle's apartment, clearly devastated.
Layla told Cris that they can't be together. "It's like going behind my sister's back," she explained. Cris reminded her that he and Evangeline hadn't been together when she got hurt and went into the coma. "We have to move on. We have to let her go," he stressed. Layla admitted that their kiss "felt so right." Cris agreed, and wondered if Layla was scared to "take a chance on me." Layla told Cris she was moving out. In a fantasy, Cristian told Layla they were both going to stay and they had to work it out. In reality, he handed Layla a check for his part of the rent and left. Oliver came home and he and Layla hugged. Both were heartbroken.
Schuyler cheered up Gigi by taking her to a concert. Gigi and Schuyler talked about musical groups they had liked. Rex called Gigi and revealed that he was out of town and wouldn't be coming home. "I miss you Morasco," Rex said. Gigi hung up on him and was very upset that Rex was doing something illegal. Gigi thanked Schuyler for the concert and he went home. Gigi flicked the lighter and imagined that Rex had come home. Meanwhile, at his house, Schuyler imagined that Gigi had paid him a visit.
Natalie sat waiting by her phone. It rang. It was john. "Where are you, Natalie?" he asked. Natalie refused to tell John where she was and hung up on him when Rex returned to their room. Rex wondered if Jared had indeed killed two people. Natalie refused to call John if and when they found Jared. She insisted she would go on the run with him. Jared appeared at Natalie's door. Jared was grateful that Natalie had had his back. However, that, too was an dream. It was Rex at the door.
Marty brought John a beer. John admitted he was stumped by the case. "Jared sounds desperate," Marty observed. Marty wondered if John thought Natalie might be Jared's next victim. John wanted to find Jared before Natalie did. John imagined Natalie talking to him in his office. Marty headed home. John called a colleague asking if they had found a location for Natalie's cell phone yet. Natalie reappeared in John's mind and teased him that he had missed a vital clue. John looked puzzled.
Wednesday
A shirtless David greeted Viki at the door. "Keep your towel on," Viki said. Viki and David walked into Dorian's living room and saw her getting ready for the big wedding. Viki brought Dorian up to speed on Jared's disappearance and Jessica's stalking. Dorian wasn't interested. Viki told Dorian she wouldn't be able to participate in the final debate. "I have to concentrate on my family," Viki explained. Viki wouldn't
be able to win the sympathy vote because of her family problems, sniffed Dorian.
Viki couldn't believe David was going to watch Dorian go through with the wedding. Why won't he tell Dorian how he
feels? she wondered. Dorian demanded to know what Viki was doing with her arms around David. "What do you care?" he replied, then suggested that since it appears that Viki is losing the election, Dorian could forget about the wedding. Dorian didn't think that was possible.
Rex told Natalie that no one recognized Jared from his photograph, and reminded Natalie that Jared was behind
the stalking. "He is guilty," he insisted. Natalie didn't think Jared could be that mean and that bad, then apologized to Rex for getting him involved. A motel employee came to the door and told them he had seen "him" as he held up a photo of Jared, then brought them his laptop because he had let Jared use it. Rex and Natalie learned that Jared had gone to Napa and headed there.
Gigi told John that Rex was out of town. She admitted she didn't go to the concert with Rex and had no idea where he
was. John spotted something on Gigi's desk and wrote it down. "Is he in trouble?" a concerned Gigi asked.
Gigi called Rex. He begged her to trust him. Schuyler dropped by with the costumes Roxy had gotten for them.
Shane told Schuyler they needed someone to wear Rex's costume. Schuyler agreed to wear it to the party. Schuyler, Gigi and Shane appeared as Batman, Catwoman and Robin and took a "family" shot for Rex. Gigi was very uncomfortable.
When Brody called Jessica from Michigan, Jessica told him that she had gotten a phone call from Nash. Brody wanted to
go back to Llanview but Jessica told him she'd be okay. "My girlfriend needs me," he informed his sister. The siblings started to argue and Nadine begged him to come to the hearing with him. "You are a war vet. The judge will listen to you," she said. Nadine was at risk of losing the family house.
Nadine started to cry and Brody agreed to help her. "Every day I'm away from Jessica feels like a lifetime," he said sweetly.
John phoned asking for activity on a credit card belonging to Rex Balsom. Jessica and John discussed the "Nash" phone call. John thought all the events were connected. Jessica couldn't think of anyone who would want to hurt her. John got a call and learned that Rex had used his card at a gas station; John made plans to head there.
Amelia told Nick and Kyle she wished she was part of a "real" couple. Amelia and Nick obviously had something more on their agenda that just the one wedding. When Roxy asked Kyle if he was really going through with it, Kyle asked
Roxy to be there for him. Roxy reminded Kyle that he still loves Oliver. It will never happen with Oliver, Kyle sighed.
Realizing Jessica was all alone, Brody was itching to go back
to Llanview. Nadine broke her pencil when she heard that plan. When Brody offered to help her work on the foreclosure from Llanview, Nadine put something in his coffee. He took a sip, asked his sister what she'd put in there...then collapsed to the floor. Nadine took his phone and called someone. "It's done," she said.
Jessica got another call from Nash asking her to come to the first vineyard. He insisted that she come alone and not tell anyone where she was going.
Amelia came home. David went upstairs. "He's not going to cause a problem, is he?" Amelia asked.
John cornered the same motel employee Rex and Natalie had spoken to; he told John that Natalie and Rex had gone to Llanview and he had never seen Jared. All lies.
Thursday
The Mannings faced off with the Morascos at the Halloween contest. They began to squabble. The finalists took turns going down the runway, and the Morascos won. Jack wanted a recount, while Shane wished Rex could have been there. "But you weren't really that bad," Shane told Schuyler.
Ross showed up at Eli's room. "Where's Dani?" he demanded to know. Ross told Eli that Téa was out of control when it came to Dani, then learned Dani’s in London. "Some English preppy prison," Eli added, then said he'd go to London insTéad of Ross because Ross was still in trouble with the law. Ross knocked Eli out, grabbed Eli's credit card and the information on Dani's school, and headed out of his room.
Danielle came to see Matthew in his dorm room. They snacked on treats that were sent from Téa. Dani let Matthew hear the message from Destiny. Caught by the headmistress, Dani was sent back downstairs and her telephone was confiscated. Bo and Nora arrived at Matthew's dorm room. He didn't smile, sneering, "I still hate it.” Before Bo and Nora left, they gave him a phone with an international calling plan. Dani was listening to the whole conversation. "That was intense," Dani said. "I fight with my mom all the time.” Hi parents have all the power and he has nothing, Matthew complained. Dani tried to call her dad in Tahiti but learned the number had been disconnected. Matthew called Téa and told her he was in trouble.
Bo and Nora were so upset about Matthew being angry at them that they started throwing the crystal at the walls. Then they started kissing each other.
Shaun signed his release forms. Greg and Mr. Evans didn't know where Destiny was. Shaun was ready to have that date with Rachel. "She's been waiting for this day as long as I have," he said with a smile, as Greg looked uncomfortable. Mr. Evans made it clear that he knew about Greg's feelings for Rachel, and thought Greg and Rachel should be together. Destiny showed up and wanted a moment alone with her father. She lied and said she had a school trip to Washington. "Please dad," she begged. He said yes and gave her some money.
As David looked at the invitation to Dorian's wedding, Destiny arrived demanding David help her find Matthew. Destiny told him that Matthew was being held captive, and let it slip that she loves Matthew. David wondered if Matthew knew that. "He wouldn't hear me," she said. "Story of my life," David muttered.
Amelia warned Dorian that people would try to fight them, urging her to legalize all the gay marriages that would happen "today" if she was elected mayor. Dorian realized that then she and Amelia would be really married! Amelia assured Dorian that she could still have a relationship with David. "Do you want one?" Amelia asked. Amelia didn't want Dorian to sacrifice her happiness for hers. "Do you want to cancel the wedding?" Dorian asked? "Do you?" Amelia replied as David entered the living room. Amelia left to get ready. Dorian asked David not to leave. She asked David what he thought if she were to legalize all the gay weddings. David reminded her that it matters how she feels. Dorian couldn't make a decision. David said politics weren't his bag. David wasn't sure if La Boulaie was his home anymore. Dorian assured him that it was. "I still need you," she said. "Not enough," he replied. Dorian walked down the stairs in her bridal outfit. David said he thought he already gave her away. David left LaBoulaie. "I have a date with Destiny, and apparently so do you," he said as he and
Destiny headed to the airport.
Rachel thought about calling the police after Téa told her that Ross had been abusive to her. Rachel asked Téa why she hadn't told Todd about their daughter. Rachel urged her to tell him the truth. Téa told Rachel about catching Todd in bed with Blair. "How about winning him back?" Rachel asked. Téa said that she and Todd weren't good together, adding that there were some things more important than love. Rachel headed to Shaun's hospital room and was surprised to learn that he wanted to have their big date tonight.
Friday
Bo and Nora were so upset after visiting Matthew at his boarding school that they smashed the Buchanan glasses and crystal decanters. Then the kissing began. "What the hell is going on here?" Kevin asked as Nora and Bo pulled away from each other. Fortunately, Kevin was talking about the crystal. "I'll get somebody to clean this," Kevin said. "That was close," said a relieved Bo. "What are we doing?" Nora
tried to convince herself and Bo that "this was no big deal." Bo didn't agree" We can't go on like this," he insisted. "I'm married to your brother Clint. I love Clint. End of conversation," Nora said. But Bo didn't want to stop talking about it. "I love you," he told a stunned Nora.
Roxy arrived at the party and thought Schuyler was Rex. Schuyler opened a letter from the Llanview University Medical School. Gigi opened it for and read that he had been accepted. Schuyler grabbed her in excitement and started kissing her. They pulled away from each other Gigi admitted she has feelings for Schuyler. "What are we going to do about this?" Schuyler wondered. "I don't know," Gigi replied.
Blair and Todd almost kissed as they bobbed for apples. "You are missing Téa, aren't you?" Blair asked. Blair remembered that Téa had Todd's child.
Matthew told Téa that his parents had kidnapped him and added that he was in England. Téa began to panic a bit. "Where exactly In England are you?" she said nervously. Danielle wondered if Téa would handle her case. (Danielle didn't know that Téa was Matthew's lawyer.) Téa had to handle Eli pounding on her door. Eli made it clear that he knew exactly where Dani was. "I got your phone records," he confessed. "Where is Ross now?" Téa asked. Téa realized Ross was on the plane on his way to London and Eli confirmed it when he found out Ross had charged a plane ticket on his charge card.
Angel Square filled with people getting ready for the wedding. Andrew, who was going to officiate at the ceremony, told Dorian that Cassie knew Dorian wasn't a lesbian or in love with Amelia. Dorian was delighted to see
Starr and Langston there. "We believe in why you are doing it," Langston said. Starr and Langston were even more delighted to see Cole and Markko, who pretended they were a couple, as did Starr and Langston to upset their Téacher who was protesting against the gay wedding.
Amelia sensed Dorian's ambivalence and asked if she still
wanted to go through with it. Dorian remembered a passionate moment with David, but said she and David never really got along. Dorian later admitted to Langston that she still loves David.
Nick handed Dorian a microphone to make the announcement. Oliver said he had been assigned to the event, "to make sure nobody gets hurt," and asked if Kyle and Nick were moving in together. Dorian told everyone she was running for mayor. The crowd cheered the historic ceremony, and Dorian said that the protestors as well as the brides and grooms had every right to be there. Her first official act when as mayor would be to issue everyone a license in the name of the law. Kyle paled. "Dorian can do this?" he wondered as he watched Oliver walk away. Nick told Kyle they could still take things one step at a time.
As Oliver tried to calm down the protestors, Cristian showed up. "Why did you move out?" he asked. Layla arrived to support Fish. "I'm okay," Oliver insisted...then burst out and announced to the crowd that he was gay. Kyle watched in awe. "I'm not afraid any more. I'm proud," Oliver said to the applause of the gay side of the crowd. Kyle watched him. "That was awesome," Langston said. "It takes a lot of courage," Dorian admitted. Nick told Kyle (who was sitting next to Oliver) it was time to get married.
On the plane to London, David lamented to Destiny, "Dorian's made her choice and apparently it's not me." Destiny asked David about their relationship, and David remembered their sexcapades in Dorian's kitchen. Had David told Dorian he loved her? Destiny wanted to know. "Never had the chance," he sighed. Destiny accused David of being afraid, but David said it was too late. Destiny said she planned to tell Matthew she loved him very soon.
Ross, who was on the same plane to London, looked at a photo of Danielle. "Daddy's coming," he said. Meanwhile, Danielle suggested she and Matthew "bust out of this hell hole."
