Rex returned home and kept staring at his birth certificate. Shane ran into his father's arms and Rex vowed to stay with him forever. Rex was shocked to learn that Dorian had married a woman and that his family had won the best costume at Halloween party. (And that Schuyler had stood in for him as Batman.) Rex was stunned when Noelle, not Gigi, came out of the kitchen. Noelle tried to best to come up with an excuse for why Gigi wasn't there.

Gigi woke up in Schuyler's bed. Schuyler gave her aspirin and reminded her that she had had a lot of tequila. Gigi remembered that the had thrown herself at him. "You were drunk. I have rules about that," Schuyler told her, adding that they had not had sex. A frantic Gigi rushed to get home, but Schuyler assured her he had taken care of everything. Gigi left. Roxy came to his door and hit Schuyler on his head. She accused him of trying to steal Gigi. Schuyler explained that he had let Gigi stay over because he didn't want Shane to see her drunk.

Gigi showed up at home and Noelle clued her in to the cover story she had told Rex. Rex pulled Gigi in his arms and smelled tequila on her. "I missed you," he said.

In Napa, Mitch said he'd say a prayer for Jared, whom he shot. He then recited the 23rd Psalm. "A prayer for the dying," Mitch smirked. John announced that he was arresting Mitch for the murder of Pamela Stuart. Mitch said that Jared had killed Pamela. Mitch insisted that Jared had kept him captive and he had no idea who Charlie Banks was. John laughed when Mitch said he grabbed the gun in self defense. "When I tell my story, there won't be a dry eye in the courtroom," Mitch predicted as he talked lovingly about seeing some friends in Llanview.

Jared was rushed into the emergency room and Natalie begged him to stay alive. Natalie wept in Clint's arms. Her dad promised her that everything would be okay. Viki brought Clint up to speed, then the doctor came out of the ER. "He's going to be alright?" Natalie asked. "Jared's alive," the doctor said. Viki asked if Natalie and Charlie could see him before Jared went into surgery. Viki also needed a word with Charlie to talk about "how all this came to pass." Charlie wondered how Mitch got through to Jared. "Through you," Viki revealed to a stunned Charlie. "I don't know this Laurence guy," Charlie explained. "He said that you killed somebody," Viki retorted. "I'm not a killer," Charlie insisted.

Natalie kissed Jared and said she'd be there with him the whole time. Jared told his father that "you killed my stepfather." Jared explained that Charlie was drunk and the two men fought. Charlie couldn't believe that Jared's mom had covered for him way back when. "I don't remember this. This has to be a mistake," Charlie said. Charlie wondered why Jared hadn't said anything. Jared knew he didn't remember and didn't want to ruin their new relationship. "How does Mitch Laurence know?" Charlie asked. Jared explained
that he had been so angry at Charlie for so long that he had told the story to cellmate Wayne Landers. "I don't want to lose you again. I finally got you back," Jared declared. Back in the waiting room, a devastated Charlie told Viki everything Jared told him.

Natalie returned to Jared's side and tried to make him promise to come to her first the next time he's in this kind of predicament. "I don't think there's going to be a next time," he said, adding that he was cold. Natalie began screaming for the doctor. After examining Jared, the doctor came out and told Natalie and her family that Jared had died. Natalie began weeping uncontrollably.

Bo and Nora charged into Seattle hospital and told them to stop the surgery. "We're his parents," Nora said. "But you have no legal rights," the hospital administrator explained and threatened to call security. Nora and Bo realized there was nothing else they could do and they hugged each other. Téa apologized to Nora for having worked on Matthew's case. Nora thought it was too little, too late. The two women sobbed and agreed how scary it was to almost lose their child. Bo and Nora met Danielle, who gave them Matthew's new pair of sneakers.... Dr. Nance came out with some bad news for Bo and Nora.

Michael stood by Marcie's side as she began to have the baby. Marcie begged them to stop the labor. "Your baby wants out today," the doctor told a practically hysterical Marcie. Marcie was afraid that she wouldn't be able to get through it. "It hurts too much, " she said sobbing. "Let's do this," the ob/gyn said. With Michael by her side, Marcie gave birth their baby son.

Schuyler told Gigi that Roxy saw her leave his room. Gigi dropped her phone.... Rex told Roxy he knows that Mitch Laurence is his father. Roxy dropped her laundry.
