Monday
John tracked down Keys in Mexico, showed him a photograph of Marty and
demanded to know if he was transporting her for Manning. Keys refused to
talk and warned John to show him a warrant or get off his property. John
responded by tossing Keys on the ground.
In the kitchen at Llanfair, Tess hid her pain and pretended to be Jessica
and attempted to stall Charlie. She told him that she needs his help and
claimed that she's been having blackouts, noting her alter situation.
Charlie turned to go fetch Viki. Tess grabbed a cooking pot and knocked him
over the head with it; he passed out. Tess doubled over in pain and stumbled
out of the house and into her car. She cried out in pain and plead with her
unborn baby to "calm down" before phoning Todd to ask him to keep Bree for a
while longer.
Cole rushed Starr into the emergency room. Michael took her vitals and she
explained that she's had contractions. Michael advised that she take it
easy, adding that she's got a lot of hard work ahead. Cole offered to leave,
but Starr asked him to stick around so she wouldn't be alone. Blair showed
up. "Well if it isn't Granny Blair!" Starr laughed. Marcie also rushed in
and exchanged awkward pleasantries with Cole when she noticed he was in the
room. Marcie admitted she feels bad for being happy about Starr's labor.
Dr. Joplin arrived to give Starr an exam so Cole went into the waiting room,
where Michael tried to calm him down. Cole admitted he's worried that Todd
will try to mess things up for Starr.
Back in Mexico, John finally coerced Keys into admitting that Marty is the
same woman that Todd has in his house after putting him in a chokehold and
threatening to kill him. Keys also revealed that Marty couldn't walk and
seemed happy to be with Todd. Keys refused, however, to return to Llanview
with McBain and relay everything to a judge.
Marty presented Todd with a framed picture of Starr and Cole and wondered if
she knows them. Todd skirted the question but explained that it's Starr and
Cole, her baby's father. He didn't reveal that Cole is Marty's son, however.
When Tess called, Todd said there was a change of plans regarding Bree, but
Tess hung up before he could explain that Viki has the child. Then Dr.
Joplin also called Todd to tell him that Starr's in labor. She implored Todd
to reconsider his plan. Todd hung up and happily relayed the news to Marty,
who was elated. Todd then told Marty he wanted to show her a picture of Cole
and Starr to help her forget about the babies in the past and focus on the
one they're going to have together.
Back at Llanfair, Viki came downstairs and found Charlie knocked out. When
Charlie came to, he revealed that it was Tess, not Jess, who hurt him. They
wondered what she'd done with Jared and Natalie and pointed out that Tess
doesn't know that they have Bree. Viki called Todd, who explained that he'd
heard from Tess, but that she didn't sound good and he doesn't know where
she's headed. Viki wondered aloud where Tess could've gone.
Cain and Tina met to exchange doggie David Vickers for the crown jewels.
Tina was elated to be reunited with her pooch, but blasted Cain when she
realized that the dog isn't hers. Cain explained that he's paying her back
for giving him fake crown jewels. They bickered about their botched deal.
Cain felt cheated and said he was planning a life for them together — until
Tina called him Cord. Cain reluctantly agreed to take Tina to visit doggie
David.
Back at the hospital, Michael encountered Marcie who begged him to come home
because she needs him, assuring Michael that Todd has promised to not
interfere with the adoption; Michael was wary and said he can't fall in love
with another child that Todd will take away. Meanwhile, Tess drove to the
cottage and, thinking Bree's safe at Todd's, decided to wait things out. She
tried to calm herself, clutched her aching stomach and yelled out Nash's
name, urging him to come save her.
Tuesday
Antonio arrived at Ray's hospital room to find him rambling on about his
innocence. Ray claimed he never killed anyone and that Vanessa is lying. He
pointed out that there was never any evidence against him, just Vanessa and
Lola's word, and argued that Vanessa fabricated the whole thing for Lola's
sake. At the courthouse, Vanessa pleaded not guilty to shooting Ray.
Cristian spoke on her behalf, claiming she saved his life, and the judge set
her bail at $25,000.
Outside the courtroom, Blair ran into John with Keys and immediately
suspected that Keys was part of some plan to get Todd. John admitted that it
does have to do with Todd but he couldn't say much more. Blair was fine with
whatever John does to Todd, as long as Todd steers clear of Starr and the
boys. John and Keys headed to another courtroom to present John's "new
evidence" to the judge. Keys hesitated when asked to name the woman at
Todd's but finally answered, "Her name was Marty Saybrooke." The judge knew
that was the name of a dead woman and was fed up with John's obsession. John
begged him to issue a search warrant but the judge refused. John blew his
lid and declared that he's taking matters into his own hands, getting
himself arrested for contempt of court.
Gigi warned Shane that Brody may not seem like himself when they visit him
at the VA hospital. Meanwhile, Rex was already in Brody's room. Brody
insisted he never meant to hurt anyone, but Rex claimed he wasn't there to
come down on Brody. He wanted to thank Brody for taking care of Shane and
expressed his hope that Brody gets better. Gigi and Shane were shocked to
see Rex exit the room. Shane wasn't particularly friendly to Rex. Once Shane
saw that Brody was fine, he asked Gigi to leave them alone for a bit. Brody
immediately began to apologize for what happened on the mountain but Shane
wasn't mad. Brody presented Shane with a medal he won for valor. Shane said
he still wants Brody to be his dad. Brody promised to be a good friend, but
advised him to give Rex a chance. After their visit, Rex excused himself as
Shane met up with his mother, but Shane called out for him to wait.
At the hospital, Starr woke up from a nightmare and told Addie she dreamed
about giving birth to a baby girl who disappeared. Addie assured Starr that
she'd have a healthy baby. Starr started to wonder if her dad has changed
enough to attend the birthing. When she had a moment alone, she decided to
give him a call.
Todd told Janet to get to the hospital in time to help deliver Starr's baby.
Marty came in just as Janet was rushing out. Todd presented her with a new
wardrobe and a picture of the new, 17,000-square foot house he bought them
online. Marty was shocked, but totally thrilled. Todd revealed that Starr is
in labor, just as Starr phoned him from her cell. He told her he wished he
could be there for her, and Starr asked that someday, when she has a child
of her own, that he be a part of the child's life. Todd said he would like
that, as Marty stood listening.
Janet rushed to the hospital and told Dr. Joplin that she was sent by Todd.
Both women admitted to being uneasy about the plan, but Janet argued that
Starr's child will be going to a good home. Dr. Joplin was still appalled.
Blair arrived and told Dr. Joplin she thinks Starr is ready to give birth.
Meanwhile, Dorian passed Ray with Antonio and two guards. She couldn't help
but make a snide remark about Vanessa looking beautiful in court. Before
being taken back to the Colombian prison, Ray advised Antonio to watch out
for Vanessa where Cristian is concerned. Over at Todd's, Marty modeled a
black dress for Todd and he was blown away.
Wednesday
Tina demanded that Cain produce the dog, fearing that time was running out
for Natalie and Jared. Cain had a jewelry appraiser named Neil Silver
(Diamond was already taken!) bring the dog. The appraiser looked at one of
Tina's jewels and assured Cain it was the real deal. But when Cain wanted to
have him appraise all the jewels, Tina threw a fit and eventually admitted
they were fake. She said she didn't care anymore and went to grab David
Vickers. When she noticed something was wrong with him, the appraiser picked
up the panting dog and guessed that "David" was about to give birth to
puppies.
Natalie and Jared began to give up all hope of getting out of the basement.
They took a moment to hold each other and Jared remarked that at least they
would die in each other's arms. They started kissing and one thing led to
another.
Viki put a colicky Bree to bed and waited with Clint for news on their
girls. Viki began to rehash the past events that had brought them to this
point, but Clint said it was fruitless. Viki advised they find Tess before
she does some real harm to herself or anyone else.
Meanwhile, Tess woke up at the cottage and spotted a glass of wine on a
shelf. "Someone's here," she observed, then turned to face Niki Smith. Tess
became agitated and screamed for Niki to get out of her head, so Niki broke
a glass to get her attention and announced that she's there to help her.
Tess struggled with her memories of being molested and blamed Niki for
leaving her unattended. Niki pointed out that leaving Jared and Natalie to
die isn't really so different. She tried to persuade Tess to do the right
thing and let Jared and Natalie out, and promised not to let Tess down
again, extended her hand. Tess reached for her hand.
Outside Brody's room, Shane asked for a word with Rex, while Gigi went in to
see Brody. She assured Brody she doesn't hate him and knows that he's
dealing with his traumatic experience in Iraq. Brody expressed his deep
regret for the way things went down with Shane. Gigi admitted to being angry
with him for trying to fudge the results of his and Shane's DNA test, but
she was grateful to him for helping Shane. Meanwhile, Rex apologized for not
being there for Shane for the first 10 years of his life, even though he
didn't know he existed. Rex said he understands Shane's connection to Brody
then proposed making up for lost time with his son. Shane agreed.
Todd was speechless when Marty walked in wearing the black dress he bought
for her. He took her in and suddenly began to insist that he doesn't deserve
a wonderful woman like her. She reached out to touch him and whispered, "But
I want you." Todd pushed her hands away and ran to the front door, shouting
for her to leave before it's too late. But Marty wouldn't go and told Todd
she loves him. She refused to leave unless he could say that he doesn't love
her. But Todd couldn't lie about this to Marty, and he finally said those
three little words.
Thursday
John begged the guard to let him call Bo, insisting that Marty's locked away in Todd's house and needs to be rescued. But after Todd confessed to Marty that he loves her, too, Marty was doing just fine. As they kissed passionately, she insisted that he follow her upstairs. Todd watched menacingly as she slowly climbed the stairs, then followed behind. Upstairs, she opened the bedroom door and Todd thought back to the vivid memory of raping Marty in college. Marty sensed that something was troubling him and offered to help. It seemed like he wanted to tell her the truth about her rape; he wondered aloud whether she'd remember the rape if they made love. She reminded him that she doesn't remember her life before and that she trusts him. Todd admitted that Blair didn't just leave him for John and that he drove her to John. He said he just knows that if he and Marty make love, he will end up hurting her. Just then, he imagined Marty standing there in the outfit she wore the night of her rape. He nearly walked out but when she pleaded that he look at her and tell her what he sees, he said, "I see you," and kissed her.
Tina was in total disbelief about her dog, claiming that the breeder said David Vickers was a male. Cain wondered who the lucky guy is that knocked up D.V. The two sat by the dog and set her up on blankets so she could give birth.
Janet suggested to Dr. Joplin that she warn Starr of "possible complications" so she'll be ready for what's coming. Starr was happy to see Viki at her hospital room but wondered when Jessica was due to give birth. While Dorian ran off to check on whether the delivery room is ready, Starr admitted to Langston that she's really scared. Just as they were about to wheel her in, Cole ran in and wished her luck. In the lounge, Viki was leaving a message for Jessica about Starr's labor. Dorian found Viki in the lounge and asked if she'd heard about her giving the company back to Clint. Viki couldn't care less, telling her she's got some family problems to deal with. She admitted to Dorian that she'd actually gone to the morgue because she hadn't seen or heard from her daughters in so long. She explained that Jessica has reverted to Tess again, and they briefly rehashed the mess they'd gotten into when Viki's alter Jean Randolph emerged. Once Dorian was gone, Viki imagined Jean Randolph sitting next to her, urging Viki to do some "deductive reasoning" and figure out where Tess might have taken Natalie. Suddenly, Viki jumped up as Dorian returned and announced that she knows what Tess did to Natalie.
Once Starr was in the throes of labor, she started freaking out, crying that she wanted to go home. Starr tried to comfort her by mentioning all the times Starr had been brave. Marcie and Blair held Starr’s hands as Janet and Dr. Joplin stood idly by exchanging shady glances. Meanwhile, Tess doubled over in pain at the cottage. She tried reaching Tina, but her aunt ignored the phone. Tess imagined Niki again, crying, "I can't do this alone."
Back at the Llanview jailhouse, John staged a Goonies-style hanging to get the guard to open up the cell. When George went to check on John, the lieutenant suddenly punched him out. But John was already too late — Todd was unzipping Marty’s dress and followed her to the bed. They began to make love, while both Starr and Jessica delivered baby girls. Starr’s was crying but Jessica’s was silent. Dr. Joplin turned to face Starr and said there might be something wrong with the baby, while Janet carried the infant to a separate room. After the birth of David Vickers’s puppies, Cain and Tina were overwhelmed with joy and ended up in a kiss. Todd and Marty basked in the afterglow of their lovemaking, and Todd remarked that he feels like a different person. John covered the sleeping guard with a blanket and ducked out of the cell.
Friday
After making love to Marty, Todd said there's no place he'd rather be than
right there with her. Marty suggested he go to the hospital to check on
Starr. As soon as he was gone, she began writing in her journal about how
they'd just declared their love for one another and were going to have a
life together. A guard checked on her and said he has strict instructions to
never leave her alone in the house.
Dr. Joplin told Starr and her family that there's something wrong with the
baby. She had Janet take the baby to the NICU and refused to tell Blair,
Starr and Marcie anything concrete about its condition. Marcie followed Dr.
Joplin out and insisted on going to the NICU, but Joplin wouldn't let her.
Blair tried to calm Starr while Marcie paced in the hallway and ran into
Todd. She informed him that his granddaughter might not be okay and that the
doctors wouldn't tell them what's wrong. Todd nodded and was clearly not
surprised. But as she began to cry, he did something surprising: He handed
her a box of tissues and said some people want to do good and that the baby
will end up with her where it belongs. "Trust me. It's going to work out,"
he assured her.
A drowsy Tess looked around the room and saw that she was alone and her baby
was dead. She passed out again, and when she came to, she began speaking in
a different tone, rationally explaining that she's going to take care of the
situation. She put on a pair of glasses and pulled back her hair, then sat
on the sofa and said, "We're Bess. And Bess was created to take care of
things." She picked up the baby, who was wrapped up in a blanket, and
carried her away.
Cain and Tina couldn't keep their hands off each other after the puppies
were born and only paused to question what they were doing. But after they
made love, Tina realized she has to get back to Llanfair to save Natalie and
Jared. She tossed Cain his clothes and ran out, leaving him to care for the
litter.
Viki ran into the Llanfair kitchen and told Charlie she knows Tess locked up
Natalie and Jared in the basement. She said she's pretty sure Tess is just
following in her alter Jean's footsteps, from the letter to the basement.
Tina rushed in and had to lie to Viki that she knew nothing about any secret
room being constructed, but picked the lock for them. Meanwhile, Jared
wondered if the bomb was even real and suggested that Tess was just playing
with their minds. Jared urged Natalie not to give up hope that someone would
find them soon.
John called Michael from a storage room and left a message warning him that
he may be questioned by the police. John began loading a gun and phoned
Blair, apologizing for being so curt with her earlier. Then John left one
more message: He called Bo and said he's sorry for doing what he's about to
do but that he just can't work within the system anymore. He threw down his
badge and walked out.
In the basement, Tina had to pretend like she didn't know how to get into
the secret room, so she pointed out scuff marks near the shelf to Viki and
Charlie. Charlie managed to slide the shelf aside and they came face-to-face
with Natalie and Jared. Tina turned on the speaker to allow them to be heard
and Jared screamed that there's a bomb in the basement. Viki gave Bree to
Tina and instructed her sister to get out of the house. Then,
Charlie looked at the end of the wire, which had the timer on it. He and
Viki
gasped at what they saw. Charlie broke the news that they had 10 minutes
left.
Bess recalled hearing Todd’s plans for Starr’s baby and she realized what
she
needed to do. She called the hospital as Jess and asked if Starr had her
baby.
Then, she picked up her dead child and vowed to make things right, then
walked
out. Meanwhile, Starr feared that her behavior was the cause of the baby’s
"ailment" but Blair reassured her daughter that she did everything right.
Blair was confident that everything would be fine. Marcie entered and, on
Todd’s advice, asserted the power of positive thinking. She shared that Todd
was there and gave her a pep talk. Blair was unnerved to hear that Todd was
nearby. Todd met with Dr. Joplin, who chastised him for coming to the
hospital. Todd then instructed the doctor to call everything off, citing
that
someone taught him a lesson about doing the right thing. Joplin was stunned.
Meanwhile, John climbed the wall and burst into Marty’s room. He was shocked
to see the woman before him. "Marty!" he said incredulously.
