One Life To Live Recaps
OLTL Week of Nov. 16, 2009
Monday
Mitch gloated to John that there's no way he'll pay for Jared's death, and suggested that John will instead. "You're the reason we're here," Mitch noted, pointed out that John was so eager to believe that Jared was guilty. While it was taking the Napa Valley police an awfully long time to get to the vineyard, Mitch continued to torment John about all the "victims" in his life. John nearly blew Mitch's head off when he mentioned John's dead fiancée Caitlin, then slowly unlocked Mitch's handcuffs. When Mitch suggested that John would eventually let Natalie die, too, the cop grabbed Mitch and slammed him into a table.
Rex confronted Roxy about Corrine's claim that Mitch is his father, and when Roxy denied it, Rex showed her the birth certificate with Mitch's name on it. Rex demanded to know if the guy who "died" in the clinic was Mitch. Roxy maintained that she pulled the plug on Rex's dad and that's all Rex needs to know. But Rex couldn't let it go, pointing out that this means Jessica is his sister. Roxy apologized for keeping the truth from him, and Rex stormed out.
After receiving the devastating news that her husband died, Natalie sat with Jared and talked about the children she'd hoped they would have. Charlie came in and reminded her that Jared's gone, and held on tight to his daughter-in-law. Later, Viki assured Charlie that he's not alone, while Brody comforted Jessica, who was all too familiar with the situation. Charlie went to say good-bye to Jared and lamented that he failed his son. "If I did kill that man, then I'm capable of doing it again," he cryptically suggested.
When the news came out that Dorian lost to Viki for mayor by one vote, Starrcouldn't contain her excitement for her Aunt Viki (oops!). Amelia comforted Dorian by trying to remind her that they made history. Meanwhile, Markko looked very uncomfortable as Dorian vowed to make the one voter who cost her the race pay. Dorian began her search for the "Benedict Arnold" and started with Shaun and Destiny. Shaun reminded Dorian that Des is too young to vote, but assured his employer that he's got her back. Destiny revealed to Dorian that David's in London and is heartbroken over her marriage to Amelia. Dorian returned to her "wife" and announced that David is nursing a broken heart. Amelia wondered if this meant Dorian was London-bound. Meanwhile, Markko admitted to Langston that he was the one who didn't vote for Dorian.
After Dr. Nance told Bo that he doesn't think the surgery was a success, Bo flipped out on the surgeon and was stopped by Greg. Nora thanked Rachel for persuading Greg to come, and the doc stepped in to take a crack at Matthew's operation. Via a "microsurgical technique," Dr. Evans was able to give Matthew and his family a more hopeful prognosis. Rachel thanked Greg, who claimed that Shaun was the one who made him really want to do the surgery. Bo and Nora were by Matthew's side when he woke up from the anesthesia and were delighted to tell him that Greg believes he'll walk again. Bo and Nora checked into a hotel for some much-needed rest, and did a celebratory dance around the room. Their waltz became a sexy slow dance, and they were soon kissing, just as Nora missed a call from Clint.
Brody returned to the greenhouse just in time to stop John from making a huge mistake, and was soon followed by a revenge-seeking Charlie. Meanwhile, Natalie cleaned up Jared's wounds and rattled on about the first time they'd declared their love for each other. She admitted that she made a wish that night, that she would die before him because she knew she'd never be able to handle him dying first, then broke down in sobs. The rest of her family joined her as Jared was led away to the morgue, while Viki rushed in to the greenhouse to find Charlie throttling Mitch.
Tuesday
Consumed with rage, Charlie nearly strangled the life out of Mitch when Viki rushed in and begged him to stop. John and Brody pulled him back, but Charlie shouted, "You strangled my boy!" Mitch noted that a child grows up to be just like parents, tossing a creepy smile in Charlie's direction. Charlie made more death threats as Brody handcuffed Laurence. Mitch then asked Viki how he could ignore the father of her child. "I liked it better when you were dead," she spat. He prattled on about Charlie's murderous ways, provoking Viki to slap him across the face. Viki went after Charlie, who was still reeling from Jared's claim that he killed Jared's stepfather. Finally, the Napa PD showed up and the lead detective informed John that Mitch isn't going anywhere. John was fuming as the detective explained that they're booking Mitch in Napa because his crimes were committed there.
Just as Clint was saying that he wasn't able to reach Nora, Bo and Nora shared a steamy kiss at their hotel in Seattle. Reminding each other once that they can't do this, they ended up on the bed, but after pointing it out a second time, they stopped making out and ordered pizza to keep their cool. She promised that when everything settles with their kids, she'll tell Clint. Meanwhile, Clint signed the papers releasing Jared's body. Nora phoned Rachel to check on Matthew and realized that she missed Clint's call. She returned the call to let him know that Matthew's surgery went well, and she nearly hit the floor when she heard that Jared is dead. She asked how this happened and who killed him. Clint didn't share the rest of the details and said he'd call back later. Nora couldn't believe it.
Téa reunited with Danielle at the hospital in Seattle and introduced her daughter to Rachel. Danielle wanted to know if the women are friends, and asked Rachel why her mom kept her a secret from everyone in Llanview. Téa encouraged Danielle to go sit with Matthew, then asked Rachel how long she thinks it'll take for Todd find out about Danielle.
Blair and Todd retreated to Rodi's after Todd prevented Ross from attacking Blair, who was "scared." As she attempted to reminisce about their first meeting at Rodi's, Todd asked if she's just pretending to be scared so that Todd won't go to London. While Todd was calling his P.I., Ross sneaked up on Blair and begged her to help him find Danielle. After reminding her that this will help her hold onto Todd, Blair revealed that Danielle and Téa are in Seattle. Meanwhile, Danielle was going through Téa's phone contacts when she answered a call from Todd, who didn't know who he was talking to. Téa grabbed the phone away and asked why Todd was calling. He challenged her to tell him why she kept her marriage to Ross from him. Just when it seemed that he was giving Téa the benefit of the doubt, Blair swooped in and told Téa to leave Todd alone. Todd revealed that he was the one who called Téa, and was unable to reach her again. After Danielle's brief exchange with Todd, she was thoroughly unimpressed. Rachel asked Téa what that was about, and Téa said she thought Todd was on the brink of forgiving her and that she was thisclose to telling Todd about their daughter when Blair intervened.
Roxy showed up at Rodi's and gave Schuyler a hard time about seeing Gigi come out of his room that morning. Schuyler swore that nothing happened between him and Gigi, and Roxy said she'd never tell Rex that she saw Gigi sneaking out of Schuyler's room, which Kim and Stacy conveniently overheard. Over Rodi's burgers afterward, Stacy said she couldn't wait to spill the beans about Schuyler and Gigi. Kim reminded Stacy that she must be subtle, and quoted a mission statement from the Buchanan Enterprises Web site (she'd been doing her homework on Clint). Meanwhile, Blair pulled Todd into a slow dance, but he imagined that he was dancing with Téa.
Back at the carriage house, Rex revealed to Gigi that he is Mitch Laurence's son. Gigi did a little Internet research on Mitch and realized what a creep he is/was. "At least he's dead," she offered, but Rex was afraid that he'd turn out like his father. Gigi was certain there was no way that could happen. Rex apologized for spending so much time away and asked what it was that she wanted to tell him earlier, but she said it was nothing and urged him to focus on being a good dad to Shane and the baby on the way. Gigi put the birth certificate and the sonogram away in a drawer and led Rex away from the desk, just as Mitch was being led away in handcuffs in Napa.
Wednesday
Blair struck a sexy pose when Todd showed up at her bedroom in the morning. He informed her that his P.I. claims Ross has left town and they don't have to worry about him, so that means Todd can pack his bags, too. Blair pulled him into a kiss to remind him of what they're good at, and they were soon rolling around on her bed.
In Seattle, Téa packed her and Danielle's things and announced that they're going to Puerto Rico! Danielle accused Téa of trying to keep her away from her father. "Your father's not who you think he is," Téa confessed. Téa asked Danielle if she'd ever witnessed her "father" have a violent outburst and suggested to Dani that Ross is a dangerous person. Danielle reminded Téa that she'd overheard her mom confessing to Rachel that she still loves Dani's father. "Which is it?" the girl demanded. Téa didn't want to answer her question and just said it's complicated.
Rachel and Greg flirted at the hospital and he asked if she's ready to deal with what's happening between them. Rachel declared that the only thing she can focus on right now is her family. Bo and Nora were at Matthew's bedside when he woke up and gently let him know about Jared's demise. Rachel and Greg walked in just as Bo was telling him. Matthew urged his parents to attend the funeral and reminded Nora that Clint misses her. They reluctantly said good-bye to their son and promised to return as soon as they could. Happy that he finally got his surgery, Matthew apologized for threatening to tell Clint that he saw them kissing before the wedding. Nora told him not to worry about it but was clearly troubled by the kisses Matthew (and Clint) doesn't know about. Téa and Danielle arrived, and the adults left Danielle and Matthew to say good-bye.
John arrived home and phoned Bo to tell him he wants Mitch to be extradited to Llanview. Bo told John to let it go and take a day off. John hung up and received a visit from Marty. She pressed him to tell her what he's thinking, and he brought up Mitch's suggestion that Jared's death was John's fault. Marty tried to make him see that no one could have stopped Mitch, and presented him with a cell-phone photo of Michael and Marcie's handsome new son, Gabriel Thomas McBain. She reminded him that there are other wonderful things in the world, and they were soon rolling around on his bed, just as things were getting hot and heavy between Todd and Blair over at La Boulaie. They were close to making love when Blair pulled back and finally acknowledged that Todd's heart is with Téa in Seattle. Blair urged him to go find Téa ... and learn for himself that she'll just keep lying to him. Todd followed her instructions, and Blair wondered to herself if she'd just let him go forever. After some retail therapy at Logan's, Blair called the airline to check on Todd's flight. Meanwhile, Téa returned to her hotel room and was disturbed to find Ross there, just as Todd stepped off the elevator at the hospital in Seattle.
In Llanview, Natalie, Charlie, Viki and Clint arrived at Llanfair and discussed how they were going to tell Bree that her uncle is dead. Natalie tearfully asked how she was going to live without Jared. Clint took Natalie upstairs for a nap, and Natalie imagined that Jared was lying next to her. Viki reached out to him and said she wished she could take away his pain. She sat him down and showed him a recent photo of Jared and Charlie on a fishing trip, and reminded Charlie that his son was so proud of him. Charlie grabbed a bottle of whiskey and stared at it. Viki wondered if he was going to take a drink, but he pointed out that the bottle was what got between him and his son in the first place, then tossed the bottle at the fireplace. He tried to put the pieces together of the night he supposedly killed Jared's stepfather, but Viki reminded him that Jared said there was a fight and the man fell and hit his head. She assured him that he didn't intentionally kill anyone. Charlie admitted that he would have killed Mitch in Napa if it weren't for Brody. Viki went to check on Natalie and saw her clutching Jared's shirt in her sleep. Meanwhile, Nora and Bo approached the front door and agreed that it's not yet time to tell Clint about them. Viki reported to Charlie that Natalie is resting, while Nat actually sneaked out. John awoke from a nap to hear rapping on his door. When he answered, Natalie slapped him square across the face.
Thursday
Dorian yammered on about losing the mayoral campaign, but Blair told Dorian to just let it go. In order to distract Dorian from worrying about finding the "Judas" who cost her the election, Blair revealed that she'd just sent Todd on his way. She explained that Todd is still obsessed with Téa, but Dorian reminded Blair that Todd will always be obsessed with her, too. Blair revealed that Téa has a daughter with Todd. Dorian asked how long Blair had known, and she revealed that it was the night she fell through the window that she figured it out. Dorian continued to push Blair's buttons about Todd until she finally exclaimed, "I love Todd Manning! Are you happy now?"
In Seattle, Téa was frightened by Ross's unexpected appearance in her hotel room. His anger got the best of him and he pushed Téa up against the door, demanding to know his daughter's whereabouts. Téa pulled away and tearfully asked him to listen to her, then dropped the bombshell that Danielle is not his daughter. Ross was devastated, then accused Téa of being full of it. Téa tearfully explained that she slept with Todd once on the island, right before he drifted away on his raft. But, she swore, she didn't even know that he was Danielle's father until recently. Ross refused to accept the truth, so Téa showed him the DNA test.
Todd arrived at the hospital as Danielle was bidding Matthew good-bye. Rachel promptly shut the door to Matthew's hospital room so Todd wouldn't see Danielle (although he has no idea she exists). Todd wondered why Rachel was acting so weird and asked where Téa is. Rachel explained that Téa was only in Seattle to make sure her client's surgery went well, so Todd asked who answered Téa's phone earlier. Rachel and Greg refused to let Todd inside Matt's hospital room, which made Todd suspicious that Téa was in there. Meanwhile, Dani told Matthew that she has to find her dad and thanked him for his friendship. When she heard Todd yelling out for Téa, she went outside and snapped at him for yelling in a hospital. "Who are you?" he grumbled.
With Brody at her side, Jessica visited Mitch in his jail cell. Jessica
urged Brody not to let Mitch provoke him, which Mitch interpreted as his daughter protecting him. She went through the list of things he'd done and asked why he was torturing her family. Mitch faced Jessica and said he forgives her for trying to kill him years ago, then vowed that they would be together as father and daughter, if not in "this world" then the next. Jessica told him to stay far away from her family. Brody stepped in and threatened to kill him if he doesn't.
While her family thought she was napping, Natalie paid John a visit and slapped him for causing her husband's death. She reminded him that she'd tried to talk John into believing in Jared's innocence several times. John said he was just following the evidence. As she began to sob and swing at him, he grabbed her and told her to stop. He admitted that he should have found out sooner that Laurence was alive; otherwise, Jared might still be alive, too.
Meanwhile, Bo explained to Clint that Mitch is being detained in Napa and hasn't yet been arraigned. Clint shared more details of the incident in Napa, then asked to hear some happy news about Matthew. They reported that Matthew was on the road to recovery and even suggested that his parents return home for the funeral. Clint told them it means the world to him that they came back, and before leaving the room added, "I love you both." When he was gone, Nora told Bo that Clint needs her right now. Clint went
upstairs to check on Natalie and freaked when he saw that she was missing. John phoned to let him know that Natalie is fine and is with him. Clint asked John not to let Nat out of her sight. Natalie had another meltdown and sobbed that she brought Mitch on them and indirectly caused Jared's death. John managed to calm her down, reminding her that Mitch played them all, and told her she can stay there as long as she needs. She took the blanket he offered her, and curled up with him on the sofa.
Friday
John called Clint to give him another update on Natalie, who declared that she wished Mitch Laurence dead. Meanwhile, Laurence refused a meal in prison but asked for a bible. Natalie told John she wants to go to Napa and finish what Charlie started, but John tried to play devil's advocate with her.
Kim was stuffing Stacy into a pregnancy pad when Roxy started pounding on the door. They tucked the pad away, then tried to talk Roxy into revealing to Rex that she saw Gigi coming out of Schuyler's room, but she refused to stoop to their level. Roxy headed over to the carriage house and flipped when she saw Schuyler there, but Schuyler explained that he was just giving
Gigi a heads up about Stacy's eavesdropping. Gigi explained to Roxy that Rex went to see Natalie because Jared is dead. Meanwhile, Rex went to pick up Natalie, and she was forced to tell him who was behind Jared's murder. Rex assumed she meant that one of Mitch's minions had killed Jared, but Natalie reported that she saw a very alive Mitch shoot her husband.
Todd was impressed by Danielle's direct attitude, while Rachel was made very nervous by the exchange and called Téa to warn her. At the hotel, Téa tried to get Ross to accept that Danielle is not his daughter, but he insisted on having his own DNA test done. Téa gasped when she heard the voicemail from Rachel alerting her to Todd and Danielle's hospital run-in. When Danielle heard Todd ask Rachel to go find Téa, Danielle revealed that he's talking about her mom. Todd was dumbfounded and asked the girl multiple times who her father is. When she claimed that Ross is her father, Todd turned to Rachel and calmly asked that she please find Téa. Meanwhile, Ross started tossing furniture around Téa's hotel room and demanded to see his "daughter." Téa apologized for hurting him, but he told her that she's the one who's going to be sorry. Téa tried to run when he threatened to take Danielle with him, but he grabbed her, failing to muffle her bloodcurdling screams. Rachel finally revealed that Téa is staying across the street, just as Ross wrapped his hands around Téa's neck.
Kim and Stacy proceeded to play around with the oh-so-hard-to-apply pregnancy padding when Schuyler suddenly walked in and saw Kim strapping the belly onto Stacy. D'oh! Meanwhile, Mitch was enthralled with his bible when he received a surprise visitor. He spouted a few bible passages to the non-believing guard before his guest was escorted in.
