One Life To Live Recaps
OLTL Week of May 17, 2010
Monday
As the teens and chaperones arrived to Llanview High's prom, they broke into a rousing rendition of Black Eyed Peas' "I Gotta Feeling." Jessica nervously arrived with Brody, while Starr had a hard time smiling for the cameras without Cole. Meanwhile, Cole was in his jail cell listening to the same song on his iPod when he received a visit from John. Todd was placed in a cell across from him and tried to make Cole doubt his relationship with Starr. Cole insisted to Todd that he has no trouble ignoring him; he just has to think of Starr.
At prom, Darren tried to campaign for him and Destiny to win king and queen. Matthew and Danielle cast votes for themselves, but while Matt was dropping off the ballots, Nate admitted to Dani that he wanted to be her date tonight. Ford took full advantage of his roommates being out and texted Langston, asking her to slip away from prom. Starr noticed that Langston was being distant and told her to go dance with Markko. Langston told Ford she can't meet him, just as Markko was asking Starr if Langston knows about his romantic surprise for that night. Matt confided in Starr that he thinks his date is more interested in Nate than him. When Jessica told Cristian that she requested their song, he turned her down and walked off with Layla, which prompted Brody to sing Cher's "If I Could Turn Back Time," followed by Jessica, Layla, Langston and Starr, complete with flashbacks of happier days past. While Jessica and Brody were dancing, she remembered something, but backed away.
Natalie stopped by Foxy Roxy's and told Roxy that she knows John received her letter and has decided to go to London. Meanwhile, Marty was reading Natalie's letter to John. In it, Natalie asked John to meet her at Rodi's at midnight if he feels the same way as she does. John found Marty in his office and asked her to tell him what's troubling her. Just then, Dorian arrived and announced that they're going to bust out Cole so that he can go to the prom with Star. Back at the salon, Roxy urged Natalie to hold out hope for John and gave her a dashing makeover for when he does declare his love.
While Markko and Langston were on the dance floor, Markko couldn't help but share his surprise of a suite at the Palace early. Langston was overwhelmed and said they didn't need a fancy hotel room, but Markko wanted to show her how much he loves her after all this time. Langston ran off. Darren desperately tried to woo Destiny, while Matthew continued to fret over Dani. Starr sang another tune ("I Can't Live If I Don't" available on iTunes) as she wandered through the crowd alone. Markko then gave Starr a pep talk through song ("We Fall," another OLTL original). Meanwhile, Dorian and John made arrangements to allow for Cole to spend one night a free man. Afterward, Marty finally handed over the Natalie's letter to John.
Langston gave herself a pep talk and decided to tell Markko about her and Ford. Meanwhile, Ford was at home with his slutty pizza delivery girl. Langston overheard Layla say something about Ford's fling with Karen to Cristian, so she phoned Ford to see if he was with Karen. When he didn't pick up after several attempts to reach him, Langston ducked out to confront him. Whitney pressed Markko to get ready to film the coronation, but he had to change memory cards. Starr sang a sad song, "I'm The One," during which Markko discovered Langston's affair by watching the tape of Matthew and Destiny's conversation, Langston caught Ford with Karen, Jessica stuffed the ballot box, and Natalie walked into Rodi's to find no one but the bartender there. As Starr's song finished, she turned around to see a squad car pull up ... and Cole step out of it.
Tuesday
Starr was thrilled to see Cole show up for the prom despite his jail sentence. Cole explained that she has her Aunt Dorian to thank. They spent time outside under police supervision and Cole tearfully assured her that Cole, Starr and Hope will be a family again soon.
After ditching prom to see Ford, Langston was stunned to find her lover in the throes of passion with pizza girl Karen. Meanwhile, Markko watched the videotape of Destiny telling Matthew that Langston is cheating with Ford. Langston and Ford sought out their feelings through a song ("A Lot To Say," available on the Starr X'd Lovers soundtrack on iTunes), while Markko did an emotional dance in the school gym. Ford tried to explain that this was all a misunderstanding, blaming Karen for "pouncing" on him. Before storming out, Karen chastised Langston for walking out on a great guy like Markko. Ford swore to Langston that Karen means nothing to him but Langston does. Lang wasn't convinced.
At the prom, Brody nearly caught Jessica stuffing the ballot box. Whitney grabbed Darren away from Destiny to count the ballots, and Brody asked if he can still be voted prom king if he doesn't attend Llanview High. Whitney assured him that students' dates can be elected as well. Brody tried to get Jessica to admit that she remembered something about them earlier, but she remained standoffish. Layla and Cristian enjoyed themselves after a dance, and Cris promised that the night was only going to get better. Layla hoped Jessica wouldn't have anything to say about that. Markko went off in search of Destiny, while Darren fantasized about Destiny in a classroom setting in which he sang Michael Jackson's "The Way You Make Me Feel." Afterward, Destiny was singing a different tune about her prom date. Markko pulled Des aside and asked her to tell him everything she knows about Langston and Ford. At Matthew's urging, Destiny reluctantly admitted that she saw Langston and Ford kissing a few weeks ago.
Whitney and Darren interrupted the dancing to announce the prom king and queen: Cristian Vega and Jessica Buchanan! Everyone was confused as to how their teacher was voted king, but Jessica was ecstatic. Layla was furious and blamed Cristian for letting Jessica take things this far. She worked through her fury by singing Jordin Sparks's "Battlefield," backed by able singers Starr and Langston. Afterward, Layla confronted Cristian in front of Jessica and said she's tired of watching him protect Jessica and get jealous when guys hit on her. To Jessica's dismay, Cristian told her for the last time that he doesn't love her, then ran off in search of Layla. Outside, he swore to Layla that he loves only her and presented her with an engagement ring, as Jessica watched from behind a curtain.
Natalie sat alone at Rodi's with her one-way ticket to London, while John read Natalie's letter in Marty's presence. Roxy found Natalie and urged her not to go to London without confirming that John saw the letter. John, meanwhile, was surprised to hear that Marty had actually tried to keep the letter from him. John wasn't open with his feelings after reading it and Marty wondered if they should just call it quits. She said there was no point in staying together now that the baby's gone because she knows his heart still belongs to Natalie.
After prom let out, Starr and Cole enjoyed a private dance in the gym. The original song "Together" played as the other teens headed to the Buenos Dias, Cristian proposed to Layla, John and Marty said good-bye with a kiss (which Natalie witnessed), and Langston gave in to her feelings for Ford ... just as Markko walked in.
Wednesday
Starr and Cole enjoyed a last dance in the gym and agreed to focus on the good rather than the bad things that are happening to them. Nevertheless, they reverted to arguing about Hannah, with Cole refusing to question his friend's statement that she saw Todd push Marty. After failing to reach an agreement, Cole returned to his squad car. Outside the gym, Jessica couldn't believe her eyes upon seeing her beloved Cristian propose to Layla. Brody tracked her down and asked why she was crying. Jessica sobbed that her life is over because the love of her life is marrying someone else. Brody promised not to give up on Jessica, which only made her more upset. When he sensed that she was close to recovering her memories, he pressed her to recall what happened with Mitch. Jessica refused to listen to him and told him to get away from her.
After Marty and John agreed to call it quits, they shared a kiss, which Natalie walked in on. She slipped away before they could see her. Marty pulled away from John and said she feels strong enough to say good-bye. Natalie returned to Rodi's and downed some whiskey as she relayed what she saw to Roxy, who was certain that John still loves Nat. Before leaving Natalie alone, she advised her to keep her heart open. Marty urged John to go to Rodi's, reminding him that Nat won't wait forever. He was about to leave when Cole's return delayed him.
Knowing what he'd find, Markko barged into Ford's apartment to find Langston making out with Ford. He explained that he saw the tape of Destiny and Matthew discussing Langston's affair and he knows it's been going on for weeks, maybe months. When Ford bragged that it'd been going on for some time, Markko threw a punch at Ford, which sent him over the sofa. Ford claimed it was just sex and he's not in love with Langston, who was stunned and devastated. Markko told Langston it looks like she's the fool, then stormed out.
Layla and Cristian found Starr alone in the gym and asked why she was so sad. When Starr saw Layla's engagement ring, she congratulated her, then turned away in tears. Layla sat down with Starr, who explained that Hannah keeps coming between her and Cole. Layla caught Starr up on Jessica's antics and swore it didn't matter; Cristian loves her and Cole loves Starr.
Brody returned to his hotel room and started drinking and trashing his room, while Jessica sobbed to herself at home. She suddenly had another idea to get Cristian back and stormed out. When John finally did arrive at Rodi's, he was too late. An empty bottle of whiskey and a pool cue were the only traces of Natalie, who'd gone to Brody's seeking a shoulder to cry on. Meanwhile, Ford was surprised to find Jessica at his door.
Thursday
Blair and Téa enjoyed a girls' night in but things got somber when Téa said she'd only have a few more months to do this. When Téa started to feel dizzy, Blair rushed over to support her, but Téa explained that it's just a symptom of her condition.
At the Buenos Dias, Darren cozied up to Destiny while Matthew seethed upon watching Nate hit on Danielle. Matt grabbed his girl away and told her it's time to go. Darren stole a kiss from Destiny before running home. Whitney tried to plant one on Nate, but he made it clear he just wants to be friends. At the Palace, Matthew escorted Danielle to her door and blurted out, "I love you." Dani freaked and ran inside, then found Blair tucking in her mom. She asked what's wrong, and Blair lied that the Clams Casino made Téa sick. Dani crawled into bed with her mom and reported that the night was fun but went by so fast. Téa said they must make every moment count. Matthew returned to the diner and confided in Destiny that he'd just told Danielle he loves her. Destiny couldn't believe how stupid Matthew was.
When Langston returned home, she found Markko packing all of his things. He told her she's destroyed everything they've been building for the last three years and that the musical she wrote about them is all a lie. Langston began to cry as Markko talked about his special plan for them at the Palace, and Markko guessed that she was the girl who was with Ford that night at the hotel. After he called her a "cheap slut" and stormed out, Langston was devastated, and dropped to the floor in tears.
Jessica went to Ford's apartment in search of Cristian, which Ford saw as a golden opportunity. He let her sit down and pour her heart out about that night, and assured her that Cristian doesn't deserve her. She admitted that tonight was supposed to be special because she thought she was going to make love to Cristian, which would be her "first" time. "I'm going to be a virgin forever," she sighed. "You don't have to be," winked Ford, offering to make her a "woman." Agreeing that it's time to grow up, she let him lead her into the bedroom.
Just as Natalie was telling Brody that she plans to leave town, Roxy found John at Rodi's. Natalie told Brody she's certain things are over between her and John, and Brody informed her that Jess was thisclose to recovering her memories before she told him to leave her alone. They tossed back a couple whiskeys to their lost loves and soon found themselves in a kiss. At Rodi's, Roxy suggested to John that Nat might still be at the airport, and he rushed out.
Friday
Layla and Cristian dropped by the Buenos Dias to give his mom the good news about their engagement. Carlotta was happily surprised. Bo and Nora arrived to spy on Matthew under the guise of doing a little wedding planning, but Carlotta knew why they were there. Bo and Nora were thrilled to hear about Cristian and Layla's engagement, but Carlotta put her foot in her mouth when she made a comment about how much "experience" Nora has planning a wedding.
After they were caught breaking into the jewelry shop in New Mexico, Rex and Gigi were placed in a cell. Gigi tried to use her role as a mom to appeal to the officer on duty when she heard him on the phone with his kid. She managed to get through to him by talking about how Rex was abandoned as an orphan, and he let them make one call. Rex phoned Bo, who gave him one piece of advice: "You will know what to do once you find a clue." Afterward, Bo had a feeling that Rex wasn't telling him everything.
John rushed to the airport, only to discover that the plane Natalie was supposed to be on had just taken off. Meanwhile, Natalie and Brody's make-out session was heating up. They hastily undressed and ... let's just say what happened next very much pleased Natalie. Afterward, Natalie wasn't sure what had just happened. Brody asked if she's certain things are really over with John, but she was dead set on leaving town. At the airport, John ran into Kelly, Reed and Shaun on their way back from New York. Kelly assumed he was there with info on her mother's death, but when he saw her
with a photo of Natalie, she asked what was going on. John admitted that he was supposed to meet Natalie at Rodi's after reading her letter, which Kelly thought was incredibly romantic. When he was about to leave, she told him not to run from his feelings and advised him to just go to London. Reed was growing anxious about his date talking to another man, so she bid John adieu.
Unaware of the number of STDs Ford is probably harboring, Jessica agreed to let him make prom night one she'll never forget. Before they even kissed, Jessica felt awkward and thought maybe she should go. Ford tried to impress her with his film awards, but when she wanted to hear more, he just wanted to get in her pants. They started kissing, but again, she was uncertain. He offered to help her create some "new memories" and forget Cristian, then took off his shirt. They were soon naked and under the covers, but as things progressed, she had a fuzzy memory of Mitch on top of her and cried out, "No!" She totally freaked out, jumping out of bed and calling him a pervert. She dressed and ran home, where she tried to sort out her thoughts. Tears streamed down her face as she suddenly remembered Brody, then her daughter Bree.
Before Natalie left Brody's, he thanked her for being a good friend and said he'd miss her. She was confident that Jessica would soon recover her memories and come back to him. Soon enough, Jess was at his door with the news that she remembers him. Meanwhile, Natalie made her way to the airport, where she was shocked to come face-to-face with John.
