Dorian caught up with Alex on St. Blaze's Island. "I don't have anything on
David for you," Alex said. Dorian hinted that she would sue Alex for running
her over last year, adding that she'd enjoy owning this "whole island." Alex
told Dorian that David was really Asa's long lost son. Dorian couldn't
believe Alex. Alex explained she had overheard Nigel telling Max this tidbit
at Asa's funeral. Alex assured Dorian that David didn't know the truth. Alex
added that Nigel had given her his island for her silence about David's
paternity. Dorian wondered why David didn't know he was a Buchanan, but
agreed that Alex's story did make "a certain amount of sense." Alex
confirmed that Jared had known the truth about David. Dorian didn't think
Alex's tidbit was of any use to her. Alex left. Dorian
overheard a gentleman (Asa's attorney) asking the bartender for David
Vickers' whereabouts. Dorian invited him to join her. Dorian asked him for
details but he didn't want to spill. "Don't worry, you can trust me," she
purred.
Clint and Nora couldn't believe the new David Vickers. "Anybody can buy a
costume," Clint said. David understood that people would have a hard time
believing he's changed. David worried Clint when he told them he wanted to
talk about the Buchanan family fortune. David then referred to them as
"brothers" which startled Clint and Nora even more. David announced that he
was no longer interested in money. He only asked Clint for his forgiveness.
"That's all?" a stunned Clint asked. Clint and Nora watched as David went to
help an old woman. Nora wondered if David would be so "devout if he knew he
was worth a fortune." Nora suggested Clint contest the will. Clint thought
if David knew he was worth lots of money "that robe would be on the ground."
Clint again expressed his despair that David was his brother. David said he
would love to return to Tibet if Clint would only forgive him. Eager to see
David out of Llanview, Clint immediately forgave David. David was very
happy. Nora asked David when he would be leaving. David said he wasn't
leaving right away because he had many people to ask forgiveness from.
David's next stop was Dorian. Nora realized that if David was hoping for
forgiveness from Dorian, "he might be here forever."
Renee was stunned that David was Asa's son. "I wanted Jared to be his son,"
she told Nigel. "I'm so sorry," Nigel said. "David Vickers is such a loser.
A con man," she cried. Clint and Nora told Renee that David was back in
Llanview and studying to be a Buddhist monk.
Jared wanted Natalie's opinion on a decision he had to make. Jared explained
that Clint had offered him his old job back, but wondered if Clint had done
that because Jared was now engaged to Natalie. Natalie assured him that
though Clint loves her, he wouldn't hire Jared back if he wasn't a good
worker. Natalie told Jared he should do what he wants and shouldn't take the
job because of her. However, Natalie thought that Jared really did want to
work at BE. Jared agreed that he loved working at BE but only wanted to do
what she wants. "BE needs you right now," Natalie reminded him.
At Marty's suggestion, Todd jumped from the roof into the water. On the
docks, Blair and Téa wondered they had just heard. "It's over," Marty said
falling to the floor. Marty pulled herself up and went back into the hotel
room where she found John looking for her. John asked Marty what was going
on. He had read her journal and was there because Cole was worried. John
asked where Todd was. "He jumped off the roof," Marty told a surprised John.
John ran from the hotel room.
Blair told Téa that she thought Todd should be put away "for the rest of his
life." Téa asked Blair what happened to her. "Todd was the love of your
life," Téa reminded her. Blair told Téa about Todd's plans for Starr's baby.
Téa didn't want to listen. The two stopped talking when they saw John. John
took off his jacket and dove into the water. Téa and Blair grew hysterical
and wondered who was out there in that cold water. Marty joined them at the
dock. John pulled Todd out of the water and Blair performed CPR on him.
Marty just watched. Todd coughed up water. "I tried," he said to Marty.
Blair and Téa wondered what he meant. "Why didn't you let him die," Marty
asked them all. John and Blair congratulated each other for saving Todd.
Todd rejected Téa's attempt to give him a blanket.
Marty hopped on the back of a stranger's motorcycle. "Need a ride
somewhere?" he asked.
Tuesday
Nora told Bo that David was back in town but assured him that David is still
clueless to the fact that he's a Buchanan. Bo couldn't believe David was a
Buddhist but then David walked in to the dinner dressed in his saffron
robes. David confessed to Carlotta that he was responsible for the burning
down of the diner and promptly asked Bo to arrest him. David explained that
he had left a smoldering check in the diner. Carlotta assured him that the
burning check was "not the cause of the fire. It was the wiring. The
circuits overloaded. You didn't do it, David. Your conscience is clear."
David was happy. Bo wondered, though, how he had planned to compensate
Carlotta. David said he was penniless. "Money is an illusion," David said.
Bo asked David a hypothetical question — "What if you won the lottery, you
wouldn't cash in the ticket?" David shook his head. "I'm finally free," he
told a surprised Bo and Nora. "David Vickers. We need to chat," Jared said.
David looked up and smiled.
Nora and Viki joined Clint at the Palace at Nora's request. "Sounds
ominous," Clint said. Nora said she wanted to talk to Tess to get eyewitness
testimony that Todd was going to kidnap Starr's baby. "No," Viki said
emphatically.
An immigration agent knocked on Sarah's door. "I'm reporting Vanessa
Montez," she said. Sarah explained that Vanessa had gotten a "quickie
marriage to an American." Sarah didn't want Cris to get in trouble, though,
so Sarah tried to convince the agent that Vanessa "practically forced him
into it. He was seduced."
Vanessa asked what was bothering Cris. Vanessa tried to convince Cris that
they needed to appear to be a married couple, i.e.. He needs to sleep in the
master bedroom. "I'll sleep with you tonight," Cris promised. Vanessa
smiled. Téa came by to pick up Lola for brunch. "It's just the two of us,"
Lola said. Téa said Cris and Vanessa needed time alone to get to know each
other. Vanessa started first. "Tell me, Cris, when did you realize you first
started to fall in love with me?" she asked. The ICE agent showed up. "Come
in," Vanessa said as calmly as possible. "Your marriage is a sham. You've
been reported," the agent said. Vanessa and Cris looked at each other.
Lola wondered why Téa was being so nice to her (and Vanessa) and made it
clear that she has no desire to ever return to Colombia. Lola became
uncomfortable when Téa started talking about her mother. It was obvious that
Téa wondered what that was about. Lola said confidently that her father
killed her mother, but got defensive when Téa asked more questions.
Téa and Ray spoke on the telephone. Téa assured him that her main purpose
was to get him out of jail. "So I can make her [Vanessa] pay," snapped Ray.
Ray was convinced that Vanessa coached Lola in her testimony against her
father.
Viki visited Jessica at St. Ann's and was relieved to find Jess (not Tess or
Bess) in the room. Viki showed Jessica pics of baby Chloe. Jessica told her
mother that Tess was still obsessed with what happened to the baby. Viki
thought that Bess might know a lot more than "you and Tess do." Viki
encouraged Jessica to find out all she can from Bess. Viki wondered if Bess
was keeping something from Jessica. Bess emerged. "Hello Bess," Viki said.
Bess told Viki that Jessica had not forgiven her for what had happened with
Niki Smith way back when. Bess blamed Jessica's hospitalization on Viki.
Viki did her best to cope with Bess and told Bess that Jessica could handle
a lot. "Jessica would be dead if it weren't for me," Bess told a shocked
Viki. Bess threw her glasses against the wall. Jessica returned and
dissolved into tears. Viki had a big hug for her daughter. Viki had to leave
per doctor's orders. Jessica told her mother that she doesn't blame her "for
any of this. You believe me don't you." Viki picked up Bess' glasses and
left.
Natalie wanted to visit Jessica, but Clint didn't think Jessica was ready
for any other visitors. "She's very unstable," Clint said, adding that
Viki was the point person for the family.
Wes visited Brody at St. Ann's. Dr. Levin thought Brody needed to share his
feelings about the Iraqi boy. Wes had his doubts. "I don't know how good I
am in the feelings department," Wes admitted. Brody was delighted to see his
old friend. "Things are not so good," Brody admitted. Brody asked Wes about
the three personalities inside of Jessica. "Me and Jessica, we're not that
different," Brody admitted. Brody shared that Tess had come on to him. "You
don't ever want to deal with Tess," Brody warned Wes. "Bess is a lady.
Prissy," he added. Wes continued to ask questions when Jessica joined them
in the sunroom.
Wednesday
Jessica met Brody's friend Wes. She assured them she was Jessica, not Tess. Wes left and Jessica asked Brody what Tess had done to him. Brody was uncomfortable telling her the mean things Tess had said and done. Jessica apologized. The two admitted they were the other's only friend at St. Ann's.
Viki refused to let Nora bring Tess out to testify against Todd. Clint didn't think a young woman with DID would even be allowed to testify. Clint hoped there would be someone else who would have known of Todd's plan to kidnap Starr's baby. Viki reminded Nora that Jessica "is extremely fragile right now." She added that she had just met Bess, who had hinted at something very bad in Jessica/Tess' past that Jessica wouldn't be able to handle.
Lola grew upset at Tea when she kept asking her questions about her mother's death. Tea encouraged Lola to open up. "Keeping things bottled up just makes things worse," Tea said. "I wish that my mother was still alive," Lola admitted. Vanessa interrupted their brunch with the news that Sarah had reported her new marriage to ICE. Lola panicked. Vanessa reminded Tea that Lola is her stepdaughter and Tea should leave her alone.
Cris asked the ICE agent who had reported them. Vanessa and Cris looked annoyed. Sarah admitted she had ratted them out. "She's a jealous, vindictive bitch," Cris said. Vanessa left and Cristian had it out with Sarah. "You have no clue how I feel. I'm leaving Llanview," Sarah said. Cris hoped there was a way they could work this out. "You can't have us both Cristian. Watch out. You may just end up with nobody," she said as she slammed the door behind her.
Natalie interrupted Gigi and Rex's attempt at love making. Gigi cooed all over baby Chloe. Natalie shared the news about her engagement. Rex apologized for not being around when Shane was a baby. "He was quite a character," Gigi said and teased that she might want to have another baby. Rex was delighted. "I love you Morasco. I'm not going anywhere," he said as the two resumed kissing.
David thanked the divine universe for bringing Jared to him. Jared presented him with a large briefcase. "Objects are worthless," David said, adding that he only sought absolution from Jared. David added that his life is "now an unpolluted pool of peace." David suggested Jared find the real Buchanan heir. Jared listened in disbelief. "I am happy for you David," Jared said. Jared told David that he was engaged to Natalie. Jared suggested to David that he return to Tibet and hinted that Clint thought David was flirting with Nora and therefore might have to kill him. Jared opened the briefcase and showed him wads and wads of cash. David smiled a little bit. David picked up the money and seemed either intoxicated or repulsed by it. David kept repeating his mantra — and he put the money back in the briefcase. David had not been tempted.
Dorian went through Beaver's pockets. "You are in my hotel room at the St. Blaze's resort," she teased. Dorian told him that he had told her everything about Asa and Asa's son, David. Beaver didn't want to tell David he was heir to everything, but was "bound by law" to do so. Dorian's eyes grew wider when Beaver admitted that Asa's entire fortune was to go to David Vickers. Dorian's mind began to work and thought of David Vickers running the company all by himself. She jumped with joy at the thought of the Buchanans out in the street. Mel appeared at Dorian's door. Mel called Dorian on her machinations. "I have a chance to get BE back," Dorian said. Dorian tried to explain that she could make BE flourish if she just found David. Mel wasn't buying into Dorian's rationalizations.
Thursday
At the diner/cafe, Roxy apologized to Charlie for putting him and Viki in a
strange position on Christmas. Roxy made Charlie uncomfortable when she told
him that Viki's clock was "rocking," but luckily Natalie walked in with
Chloe. Roxy declared that her clock was rocking also and that she wanted
more grandkids!
Téa looked up from her laptop to find Viki standing over her. Téa tried
pleasantries but Viki demanded to know why she would defend Todd. Téa fired
back, asking why Todd's own sister wasn't helping him. Viki told Téa that
it wasn't simply his actions that angered her, it was the people he
committed crimes against. Viki got emotional as she filled Téa in on Todd's
crimes against Jessica and Natalie. Téa tried to justify Todd's actions. Téa
implored Viki to forgive Todd. As Viki stormed off, Téa told her that Todd
tried to kill himself. Téa broke down in tears (were they sincere?) and told
Viki the whole story. She told Viki she couldn't help him alone. Viki wanted
to leave again, and Téa said she had once loved him. Viki, clearly upset,
rushed off.
John asked Cole why he wasn't at school. Cole wanted to know where his
mother was. He asked John if he knew. John told Cole he thought Marty had
enough of Todd. John assured Cole he was being straight with him and offered
him a lift to school. Later, John got some information from a waitress at
the Buenos Dias about Marty's whereabouts. John ran into Natalie, Charlie
and Roxy. "Hey John, have you met Natalie's baby? HA!" Roxy laughed. Natalie
corrected Roxy, rolling her eyes. Roxy then asked John how his night was
with Marty — she assumed that the guy Marty went to the hotel with was him!
John asked what Roxy saw. Roxy explained that she saw Marty walk in with
"some guy." John quickly said goodbye to everyone and rushed out.
Langston and Starr gossiped about high school stuff at Starr's locker.
Langston asked Starr how she was feeling. Starr told Langston that Blair
made waffles, and whenever she makes waffles there's usually something going
on. Starr guessed that it had to do with her father. Cole arrived at school
and compared stories with Starr about what might have happened between Todd
and Marty last night. The two were really uncomfortable when a student asked
if they had a boy or a girl. The girl was happy for Starr and Cole until
Starr said the baby died. The girl rushed off. When Cole was alone at his
locker, a friend of his came over to offer condolences... and a joint to
make all his feelings go away.
Todd was none too pleased to find Blair at his doorstep. She brought
muffins, but Todd wasn't too grateful. "Thank you for saving my poor,
pathetic life, Blair!" Todd exclaimed. Blair blasted Todd, asking him
why he gave so much power to Marty. Blair disagreed with Todd that the
children didn't want him in their lives, saying that
if he grew up things would be so much easier. After Todd proclaimed his love
for Marty again, Blair shouted, "You don't love her, Todd. You don't love
her and you never did!" Blair explained that Todd could only love people who
don't want him to change. Blair asked Todd if all the people who loved him
regardless of all the things he'd done mattered. She went down the list of
the problems the kids were having and told him that she told them she was
there for them, and that she was there for their father. Blair asked Todd if
he remembered how happy they had been a year ago, and how Starr and Cole
having sex set something off in him. Blair challenged Todd to be a loving
brother and father.
Marty woke up with a start. Images of the night before flashed in her head.
When she tried to get up she was dizzy. When a mysterious man walked in
the door, she asked "Who the hell are you?" It was Wes, Brody's buddy. Wes
filled Marty in on her night - nothing happened between the two, but Marty
did tell Wes that her "date" jumped off a roof. Marty asked Wes if ever
joined a fraternity. "Do I look like a college boy to you?" he asked. Marty
came on to Wes, who didn't reciprocate. He then told Marty he didn't want
sex to be a distraction, and told her that he had a lot on his mind. Wes
explained that after he came back from Iraq, everyone wanted him to be the
same person he was before the war but he couldn't be that person. Wes
finished filling Marty in by telling her that she fell asleep while he
poured his heart out about his problems, and that he covered her up and let
her sleep. Marty apologized for having fallen asleep while talking to him.
Wes didn't mind, then offered her a ride wherever she needed to go. He took
his shirt off to change so they could leave, just as John knocked on the
door.
Friday
In science class, the new teacher introduced himself — "Mr. J". Mr. J asked
Starr what she knows about basic human biology. Starr became uncomfortable.
Markko answered the question. Mr. J kept badgering Starr. "I had a baby and
I lost her, so yes I know all about reproduction and birth and babies," she
said. AWKWARD. "Please accept my apologies," he said. Starr looked at the
picture of the baby in the biology book. After class, Mr. J apologized again
to Starr and told her that Dr. Joplin was his mother.
Asher offered Cole a joint. "I wouldn't mind taking the edge off, checking
out for a while, so hook me up," Cole said. Matthew met up with Cole in the
hall. "What are you up to?" Matthew asked innocently. Cole assured him they
were still friends.
Nora met with Antonio and Talia and asked for their help putting Todd away.
Nora needed to prove that Todd was planning to kidnap Starr's baby. Antonio
said he was surprised Téa was representing Todd. Nora wasn't sure if Tess
knew about Todd's plan. Antonio was insistent that Nora not try to talk to
Tess. Antonio suggested that they question people around the hospital. Nora
and Talia wondered if Starr's doctor might have been involved. Nora wanted
to find Janet/Lee. "We'll find her," Antonio promised.
Nora came home and brought Matthew some hot chocolate. He got a call from
Becca and headed upstairs. "Hmmm," Nora said. Nora knocked over Matthew's
knapsack and a joint fell out. Renee opened the front door and someone
grabbed her. "Hello Renee," she said. "Lee Halpren," a stunned Renee said.
"It's Janet now and I need your help," Janet said.
John caught Wes and Marty in Wes' room. "I didn't do anything to her," Wes
said. John wanted to make sure Marty was alright. "I'm not going anywhere
with you," she declared. "I don't have a home." Marty added that if John
wanted to help her "you should
have let Todd drown." Marty didn't want to listen to John and added that she
was with Wes because "he doesn't try to make me remember things I can't."
John told Marty that Cole just wants his mom back. John left and found Blair
in his apartment. Wes left Marty alone in his room. Marty came across a
photo of her taken with John and heard his voice in her head.
Blair reminded Todd that "I loved you back then, but those days are over."
"Yes they are," he agreed. Todd and Blair's conversation — or argument if
you will — was being videotaped by someone outside. Blair said she sees
Todd in Jack and Starr and Sam. "I think there is a good man in there, I
only hope so," Blair said. Todd thought maybe being alone in a cell was what
he needed. Blair added that Todd had to pay for what he did and what he
planned to do. "You can leave now," Todd said. Blair left last year's
Christmas card with him. On her way out, Blair ran into Téa. "What are you
doing here?" Téa asked. Blair reminded Todd to do the right thing and begged
Todd and Téa to not put Starr on the witness stand. "Starr volunteered," Téa
reminded her. Blair stormed out. Téa thought Todd looked pretty good
considering he had just fallen off a roof. "What did she [Blair] want?" Téa
asked. "You need to tell me everything," she added. Todd stunned Téa by
admitting he was indeed going to kidnap Starr's baby. Todd began to explain
that he couldn't let Marcie adopt Starr's baby and that was why he came up
with that plan. "Marty agreed to raise him (or her) with me," he said. "How
were you going to pull this off?" Téa asked. Todd said that the doctor was
going to tell everyone that the baby was dead. Téa was horrified. "Then
Janet was going to get the baby from the doctor's office and deliver the
baby to me. But I changed my mind," Todd added. Todd changed his mind after
he had talked to Starr from the hospital. Todd didn't think Dr. Joplin's
suicide was his fault. "She killed herself because she missed something in
Starr's medical history that could have saved the baby," he explained. Todd
was sure Janet had gone far, far away. "I need to find Janet before Nora
does," Téa vowed.
