One Life To Live Recaps
OLTL Week of January 10, 2011
Monday
Marty left Natalie alone and in labor at the lodge. Nat fell to the floor in pain and begged for Marty to return. Meantime, John called Nat but couldn't get an answer. He wondered why she hadn't shown up at the hospital yet.... Kelly went to the bookstore looking for another copy of Maintenant, just as Rex entered bearing the issue she was searching for. "Ready to see what Aubrey's been hiding?" he grinned. Rex surmised that the scandalous photos could be out of context. Kelly was convinced that Aubrey's cheating on Joey and was determined to tell him.
At the hospital, Clint was relieved that Viki talked Jessica into the C-section. Viki was concerned about Charlie's whereabouts and berated Clint for attacking her husband. Joey rushed off to see her sis, advising Aubrey to stay away so they don't ruffle any more feathers. After Joey left, Cutter arrived to announce that he's staying in town. Aubrey was freaked out that they'd get caught. They were about to hit the sheets when Kelly started pounding on the door looking for Joey. Aubrey informed her that Joey's at the hospital.
At the AA meeting, Echo was in the middle of her speech and admitted that she started drinking because she felt guilty for giving up her son when he was born. Dorian, who was in disguise, overheard everything — including Echo's concerns about her secret regarding her son's father. Dorian was on the edge of her seat with anticipation and squeezed the arm of the woman sitting next to her, which caused the woman to yelp (and draw attention to Dorian). Echo quickly realized the woman was Dorian in disguise and changed her tune, blaming Dorian for her troubles. Dorian couldn't contain her anger, outing her real identity. Echo ridiculed her for her outrageous move; Dorian demanded Echo come clean about her secret that Clint is Rex's real father. Echo was miffed, told Dorian she's out of line and stormed out. Meantime, Charlie was stressed out from the Jessica/Clint situation and fondled a bottle of vodka, struggling not to take a drink. He got a text from Viki asking him to return to the hospital. Rex found Charlie and urged him not to listen to whatever Clint had said, adding that he's glad Charlie is his dad. He also called Charlie out on hiding booze in his pocket.
Back at the hospital, Joey arrived. Jess got the details on her C-section. Brody was excited to her he'd be in the room with her. Everyone wished her well before she was wheeled in to surgery. John told Viki he hasn't seen Nat for a while and is concerned. Viki wondered if Marty could be involved. John had Nat's car tracked and rushed off to find her. Jess prepared to give birth and was given an epidural. During the C-section, the machines went off and Jess was losing blood. Brody tried to keep Jess calm by bringing up how they met and how far they've come to get to their happy ending together. Jess panicked and plead with her doctor to save the baby; not her. Meanwhile, Viki and Clint shared a moment discussing their inability to protect their children anymore.
At the lodge, Marty returned to help Nat's baby, but reminded Nat that she'll still pay for what she's done. Marty coached Nat through her labor and guided her to the car, but it was too late; the baby was already on its way. Marty rifled around for tools to help her through the delivery. Marty advised Nat to push; Nat screamed out in agony. Marty announced there's a problem with the baby because it is breech. Marty told Nat they could try to position the baby properly without harming it if they take their time with the birth.
Kelly arrived and presented Joey with the magazine. She told him Aubrey's cheating. Aubrey and Cutter, meanwhile, hit the sheets (again).... Dorian was called out for spying on the meeting. She covered and was forced to step forward and admit she enjoys the occasional glass of wine.... Echo was affected when she saw Rex with Charlie.... John arrived at the lodge and heard Nat screaming inside.
Tuesday
Cutter started to worry that Aubrey is really starting to have feelings for Joey. She thought the idea was absurd and teased Cutter, but did point out that Clint's already pegged her as a gold-digger. She then griped about Kelly creating some problems with their plan because she's still in love with Joey. Aubrey worried that Kelly would start digging into her past; Cutter assured her all was well. Aubrey also fretted about Cutter staying in Llanview and feared they'd get caught.
Echo interrupted Charlie and Rex's father-son moment and wondered if Rex is
ready to have the same with her. Echo explained her regret with giving him
up as a baby. Rex surprisingly opened up to her about the situation with
Jessica and Charlie, which nearly made him take a drink. Talk turned to
Clint. Rex was thrown when Echo said Clint is the kind of guy who would
reject his own son. She quickly covered, claiming she was talking about
Joey. "I don't like what Clint does but sometimes you do have to go to
extremes to protect your child," she said as she flashed back to Clint
threatening her about telling the truth about Rex's paternity. Rex thanked
Echo for giving him a father in Charlie.
At the hospital, Viki gave Clint an update on Natalie, adding that John is
going to find her near Llantano Mountain. They weren't too concerned and
happy that John was there. Meanwhile, Joey was stunned when Kelly claimed
Aubrey is cheating and showed him the magazine. He didn't believe it and
accused Kelly of trying to ruin his relationship. He surmised Clint put her
up to it and they were on the verge of a fight until Brody entered to
announce the birth of his and Jess's son. Kelly departed; Joey was
preoccupied. Clint, however, was pleased with everything.
John arrived at the lodge and was flabbergasted to see Marty carrying his
newborn son. He made sure Nat was okay and smiled as he held his baby for
the first time. Marty echoed John's comment, "We have a son!"; Nat looked
disturbed and relieved as Marty continued to claim that the baby was her own
with John, who surmised Marty's just under a lot of stress and needs to
rest. "She thinks the baby's hers!" Nat told him. John and Nat got a moment
to catch up. John wondered how she and Marty ended up at the lodge. Nat
flashed back to holding Marty at gunpoint and was on the verge of telling
John the truth when Marty interrupted with her own version of the story,
gushing to John that the baby was breech and the delivery was difficult but
that she did it and Natalie was great, too. "Now we have our baby!" she told
him. The EMTs arrived and took Nat to the hospital; Marty went to get a ride
with John back to town. Curious and confused, John stayed behind for a moment
to survey the bloody scene and noticed the gun propped up in the corner.
Back at the hospital, Jessica also gave birth to a healthy boy. Brody was
all smiles as he cradled his son. Jess worried about her own health and
asked if she's going to need a hysterectomy; she didn't. Brody and Jess were
relieved and happy. John arrived with Marty in tow and told a nurse that
Marty might need a psychological evaluation. He went to greet Nat and told
her that Marty was saying the strangest things on the ride there, surmising
that she's had a break with reality. Both Jess and Nat noted how lucky it
must mean to have given birth on 1/11/2011. Marty, meanwhile, went to the
nursery and asked to hold her baby.
Kelly was upset about the Joey situation when she ran into Rex, who wasn't
surprised that Joey defended Aubrey....Viki and Clint rushed to see Nat and
were happy that she and the baby are safe; they told her about Jess's baby
too... Joey knocked on Aubrey's door; she was in bed with Cutter, who hid.
Joey was upset and confronted her with the photos.
John brought Nat their baby; Brody brought Jess theirs. John asked Nat what
happened at the lodge with Marty.
Wednesday
Natalie and John marveled over the "newness" of their son. John pressed Nat again to tell him what happened at the lodge, and said he saw the shotgun and broken phone lines. Nat was wracked with guilt and told John that she loves
him. Meanwhile, Marty was in a different room at the hospital being treated
for dehydration. She was insistent that the nurse bring her new baby to her.
She busted out of the room and raced to tell John that he needs to know the
truth about the baby. Nat panicked. A nurse tried to wrangle Marty away, to
no avail. Marty spilled that Nat held a gun to her head and smashed her
phone and wouldn't let her leave because Nat wanted to see her baby. She
also came up with a frantic plan for her and John to get the baby back from
Nat, who was flabbergasted by Marty's behavior. Marty blamed Nat for pushing
her down the stairs all those years ago and framing Cole. Then she made a
lunge for the child; John restrained her. Nat realized Marty had lost it and
was privately pleased that no one would believe Marty if she revealed
the truth but wrestled about whether she should come clean herself.
Dani and Starr, dressed up in their most adult clothes, went to the police
station, claiming to be working with Téa on Nate's case. They didn't get
far; Price busted them at the door. He told them that it's too late to
investigate because Nate already confessed to the murder. Starr was worried
about Dani and said she knows, from Cole's experience, that people can snap
and do things they don't mean to. Dani swore her sis to secrecy and said
Nate confided to her that he had a plan the night Eddie was murdered but
still doesn't think he did it. Starr admitted she hasn't talked to James
since New Year's.
Back at the hospital, Jessica and Brody shared a heartwarming moment
discussing how happy they are to be new parents. Marty was sedated,
saying she just wants a happy family with John, who returned to Nat's side
and asked if what Marty said is true. Nat twisted the truth in her favor,
saying she told Marty off and things did get ugly but that they agreed to go
to the hospital together and wound up at the lodge instead when she went
into labor.
Blair barged in on Todd and Téa in bed and asked for any tips they might
have about the painting Eli left for her. She wondered if Todd had
commissioned it back in 2003. "I'm trying to forget you; not remember you,"
he cracked and forced her to leave. Téa was preoccupied with working on
Nate's case; Todd was still insistent that they could peg Inez for the
crime, but Téa didn't have any grounds to subpoena her. Todd offered to help
by ringing his "consultant."
Joey was confronting Aubrey about the photos in the French tabloid when
Cutter appeared from the bedroom, half naked. He introduced himself as
Aubrey's brother, much to Joey's surprise. He forced them to explain the
photos. They claimed they were in a loud club and trying to talk into each
other's ears. Joey believed them and was actually excited about Cutter being
in town. Aubrey was miffed that Kelly gave Joey the magazine. Cutter didn't
like seeing Aubrey make out with Joey.
Dorian came home from the AA meeting and poured herself a big glass of wine.
Kelly groused about her own plan with Joey backfiring. She worried about
Joey hating her forever. Dorian persuaded her to keep investigating Aubrey
and fight for her love. Kelly was surprised when Joey suddenly showed up at
her door. He was upset and told Kelly to stay out of his life, adding that
the guy in the photo with Aubrey is her brother. After he stormed out, Dorian
looked at the magazine and ordered Kelly to expose "that lying slut." She
was also convinced that she'd seen Aubrey somewhere before.
Back at Llanview PD, James showed up and shared an awkward greeting with
Starr, who was affected when James took a call from the girl he's dating....
Joey returned just as Cutter was leaving and told her that they won't have
to worry about Kelly anymore. Aubrey gave Cutter Kelly's number on the sly.
Thursday
Téa was frustrated that she couldn't find a way to get Nate off the hook. Todd continued to offer his thugs to get Inez to talk, to no avail. Dani showed up in their room and happily thanked her dad for what he did to Nate. Téa surmised that he bought off a judge, but Todd had simply put Nate on the cover of the newspaper demanding justice for him. Dani wanted to know why Nate confessed but her parents didn't let her in on their suspicion that he's covering for Inez.
At the jail, James and Ford came to visit their bro in the slammer before his sentencing, demanding to know why he confessed. Nate refused to budge on his guilty stance. They asked Nate about the $50,000 that Ford gave Eddie to leave town; Nate didn't know about it. They argued about the whereabouts of the money and considered busting Nate out of jail, until Inez showed up.
Starr and Langston went to the gym. Starr was bummed about her last encounter with James and was determined not to let her feelings for him get in the way. Later, Ford and James showed up.
Starr got a twinge of jealousy when Michelle asked James to a college Valentine's Day dance — and he accepted.
Inez gave Bo her resignation. Rex arrived to say that he's got some key info about her. He presented Bo with the prescription for a drug that she could've used on Bo to make him drowsy. Bo suddenly recalled Inez having a bag from a pharmacy the night they supposedly slept together. He and Rex both surmised that if Inez did drug Bo, it would have given her plenty of time to slip out and kill Eddie. Bo went to talk to Inez; Rex left and apologized to Bo as he flashed back to keeping the secret about David from him.
At BE, Matthew overheard Nora railing at Clint for suggesting that Bo lie to her about sleeping with Inez. Clint played it cool, saying that Bo did it to pay her back for sleeping with Sam and Clint wanted to spare her the misery. Nora was appalled.
Todd told Dani that she's right; Nate didn't kill Eddie. She thought that Todd did it; he laughed and said he's innocent. After, Todd called Price over, determined to prove who tried blackmailing him for Eddie's murder and asked that the room be dusted for prints. Price was irritated. Later, Price said that there was an indentified print on the cufflinks.
At the courthouse, Téa encountered Inez in a final attempt to get her to say something about doing the crime herself before Nate spends 20 years in prison. Inez was emotional; Téa encouraged her to do whatever it takes to secure her son's innocence. Later, Téa told Nora that she thinks it's entirely plausible that Inez could've killed Eddie. Nora agreed that it makes sense and that she'd love to see Inez get jail time, but said Nate already confessed and there's not much she can do before the sentencing at this point. Téa argued that Nate's covering for her; Nora pointed out that Inez's alibi checks out because she was sleeping with Bo!
Clint asked Matthew why he didn't rat him out with regard to tipping Nora off about Bo and Inez. Matthew thanked Clint for treating him like an adult, unlike his dad; Clint was pleased that the boy was turning against Bo. Later, Rex confronted Clint and asked about his connection to Inez.
The hearing began. Téa and Dani were hopeful that Nate would recant his confession; he didn't. So, Téa called Inez to the stand and asked her why she's letting her son take the fall for her.
Friday
Todd demanded that Price give him the name associated with the mysterious prints on the cufflinks. Meanwhile, In the courtroom, Inez was called to the stand. Téa accused her of letting Nate take the fall for her crime and was determined to prove it. The judge wasn't pleased. Todd barged in to say that Inez is innocent and pointed a finger at Nate, much to Dani and Téa's shock. Téa demanded Todd be put under arrest for botching her case; Todd explained the prints on the cufflinks came back as Nate's. Nate confessed to framing Todd; Dani was floored.
Marty had gone completely over the edge. She rocked back and forth in her hospital bed, which she was strapped to, lost in her delusions.
She fantasized about having a baby with John and Nat stealing it. She
started freaking out and tried to escape. On the other side of the hospital,
Nat and John brought their baby to Jess's room so everyone could meet the
new members of the family. The sisters marveled at the double births and
both agreed that they're not in a rush to name their sons, considering all
they've been through. Jess was stunned by Nat's ordeal with Marty and was
eager to go visit her friend. Brody said it wasn't a good idea, then flashed
Nat a knowing look.
A nurse came in to run some tests on Jess's baby and took him away. A
security guard called John to calm down Marty. Roxy was thrilled about the
baby and gave John a big hug in the hall, bearing pink balloons. She
explained she was late because of her crazy weekend in Atlantic City and got
into a fight with a guy at the gift shop, hence the pink balloons. Nat,
meanwhile, was affected when Brody held her baby and flashed back to the
paternity results. A super awkward moment unfolded when Roxy said Nat's
baby looks just like Brody, thinking he was holding his own kid.
Clint told Rex he's not getting involved with the Bo and Inez drama, until
Rex hinted that Bo didn't sleep with Inez at all and was drugged so Inez
could slip out and kill Eddie. Clint deemed the notion ludicrous and said Bo
needs to own up to the consequences of cheating on his wife. Vimal showed up
with blue balloons for Clint to give to the new babies ("I had to fight off
a woman at the hospital!" he groaned) and tried to get rid of Rex, who irked
Clint more when he pointed out that Natalie's been his sister longer than
she's been Clint's daughter. Snap! Later, Vimal's guilt over changing the
paternity tests was obvious. He fretted about the wrong daughter thinking
that Brody is her baby's daddy.
Rex later went to meet Nat's baby and shared a happy moment. Roxy was
overcome with emotion at how well they turned out, considering all the
mistakes she made when they were going up. "Somebody cheer me up. Tell me
about the labor. Were there any good drugs or anything?" she sobbed. After,
Jess said the babies are going to be so close that they'll probably be more
like brothers than cousins; Rex and Nat gave each other a look. Roxy,
meanwhile, was upset about what Marty did to Nat and paid Marty a visit.
The judge called Nate to the stand to explain what exactly happened the
night of Eddie's death. Nat recalled the events before the fight with Ford
and said he snuck into Todd and Téa's jewelry and was set to leave town but
he killed Eddie instead but his story didn't match what was seen at the
crime. Téa called him a liar. He finally buckled and said she's right; he's
innocent. He claimed Eddie was already dead so he split and returned Todd's
jewelry. He did it to save Inez.
A guard kept a close eye on Marty, who had knocked out Roxy and fled....
John and Nat took another look at their son in the nursery... .Marty
approached Baby McBain. "Mama's here!" she cooed.
