One Life To Live Recaps

OLTL Week of February 25, 2008

Monday

John boarded a flight in Washington, D.C. and thought back to a conversation with an old FBI associate about Ramsey's shady past. "Where the hell are you, Ramsey?" John asked to himself.

Having just received an offer to work with a designer in Paris, Adriana was reluctant to leave Rex in Llanview now that Gigi and Shane are sticking around. Rex sensed that her reluctance had something to do with her still thinking Rex is Shane's father and assured her that there's no way that could be true because Gigi would come clean with him. Adriana didn't understand, then, why Gigi wanted to stay in Llanview. Rex delivered a heartfelt speech about his love and devotion to Adriana and how no ocean (it rhymed!) could come between them. Shane interrupted their conversation and told Rex he'd be right back and wanted to show him something. Once they were alone, Rex continued to try to talk Adriana into going to Paris, but she was coming up with every excuse in the book.

Starr waited by the phone for Cole to call and debated phoning him first. She was thrilled to hear a knock on the door, but was disappointed when it was Markko on the other side. Both were confused about Langston and Cole's whereabouts, but Markko said that he's sure Starr and Cole have no problems. Starr suddenly had an idea. Meanwhile, Langston rushed to Cole's side at the St. James Church. Cole explained that with Ramsey being the new police commissioner, he could revisit Cole's shooting of Miles. Cole revealed some of the backstory that she'd never heard before, including that Ramsey is the one who shot the tire out on the van that took Marty's life.

Over at the Llanview PD, Ramsey informed Bo that he was going to get rid of "all the clutter" on the station walls and pointed to a framed tribute to a lost officer. Bo explained that that officer lost his life on 9/11, so Ramsey offered to give Bo the photo. The confrontation drew a crowd of officers who watched with arms crossed. Ramsey retreated to his office ... with Bo right behind him. Bo started to collect his things and noted that Ramsey shouldn't get too comfortable in his former office. Ramsey left Bo alone, but asked Talia and Antonio to keep an eye on Bo while he's in there. Bo explained to his former employees that some paperwork was on its way that could reinstate John and all it needs is the commissioner's signature. Outside, Ramsey asked Talia what kind of name "Sahid" is. She explained that it's Syrian and asked if he has a problem with that. Ramsey remarked that it's all about diversity these days, leaving a slightly puzzled look on Talia's face. Talia got her hands on John's papers and Bo distracted Ramsey with some unsolicited advice while Talia asked for Ramsey's signature on "a few papers" then happily walked off with what she came for. Meanwhile, John landed in Llanview and returned to the PD to find a new name on the police commissioner's door.

Starr and Cole tried making spaghetti sauce to distract themselves from worrying about Langston and Cole. At the church, Langston assured Cole that there's no way he's going to jail and that John will take care of Ramsey. His phone rang and it was Starr finally giving into her urge to call him. Cole and Starr made plans to eat dinner together, then Cole told Langston he feels better after talking things through with her.

Layla came to Adriana's aid at Llanfair and Adriana explained what's going on with Paris and Rex. Layla quietly advised Adriana that she's being ridiculous for letting her jealousy potentially keep her from taking the opportunity of a lifetime. Adriana finally agreed to go to Paris and gave Rex a huge good-bye smooch before taking off. Rex decided to hang around with Shane while waiting for some information from Viki. Gigi didn't look too thrilled.

Tuesday

Jessica anxiously called the hospital for an update on Allison, while Nash was on a business call. Jess didn't look too happy about what she heard on the other end, while Nash was thrilled to report that his credit line was extended. Nash asked Jessica who she was just on the phone with and Jessica lamented that they may never know Allison's secret, prompting Nash to wonder if Allison was dead. She wasn't dead but her condition had taken a turn for the worse, Jessica explained. Nash wanted his wife to stop obsessing and suggested that Allison never even had a secret.

As Todd prepared to sign the document in Marcie's favor, Bo arrived at the courtroom to see the judge. Both Todd and Nora asked Bo how he could let Ramsey take his job without a fight. Bo said he had it under control. Once Bo was gone, Todd suggested to Nora that her letting Marcie off so easily wouldn't go over very well with Ramsey. Nora marveled that she and Todd might just agree on something — heir intense dislike of Lee Ramsey. Todd admitted that he didn't think highly of Lee but Nora sensed that there was more to the story. She asked him to just tell her one incriminating thing about Ramsey and she'll bring him down with it. Todd began, "If I could say something..." but then backtracked and didn't finish the sentence. Meanwhile, Michael and Marcie prepared for the hearing and Marcie barely heard a word he was saying as she looked at photos of Tommy. Nora got Todd to sign the papers before Marcie and Michael arrived. Marcie remained silent as they faced Todd, who tried to torture her with a cell-phone photo of him and Tommy. "It's not a happy ending for you," he sneered. "You don't deserve one." Marcie didn't say anything but pushed Todd when he came too close with his cell phone. That only prompted him to keep showing her the photos, but Nora instructed Todd to stop.

At the PD, John wanted to confront Ramsey even though Talia and Antonio advised him against it. "I'm not going to let him get away with what he's done," John declared. Talia went to see Ramsey to distract him while Antonio tried to talk some sense into John. Talia was thrown when Ramsey asked about her relationship with "that hispanic cop." Ramsey was curious how her family would feel about a mixed marriage, but Talia didn't care to answer. Antonio persuaded John to leave, while Talia came out of Ramsey's office clearly disturbed. She explained that he made some subtly racist remarks but there was nothing they could do about it. Antonio wanted to protect her from Ramsey but Talia insisted she can take care of herself. Another cop came out of Ramsey's office with a box for the garbage so Antonio took it off his hands.

Meanwhile, Bo met with John outside the courtroom and insisted that John accept his reinstatement so that he can keep an eye on Ramsey. They ran into Todd but he was reluctant to say anything about Ramsey. "Something's got him scared," Bo noted to John. Bo received a phone call and looked alarmed. Marcie's hearing ended with the judge granting her two years' probation and community service. Marcie's lawyer reminded Nora that she had a lot on the line for this case and hopes Nora gets to keep her job. Nora then received a call from Clint and said she was on her way. She ran into Bo, who said Clint didn't give him any specific but it didn't sound good, just as Jessica rushed out of the cottage after receiving a call as well. After Jessica left, Nash spoke with someone who had bad news about his loan. The person hung up on him when Nash got angry, so Nash pulled a business card out of his wallet and made a mysterious phone call to someone, saying he'd like to them up on their offer.

At Llanfair, Rex asked Gigi what was eating at her and she simply said she had a lot on her mind. As they drank some hot chocolate that she made for Shane, she and Rex reminisced about winter days spent together as teens. Gigi asked Rex what it was like to not grow up knowing his real father and Rex described a whole gamut of emotions. Rex wondered why Gigi was so interested.

Marcie and Michael returned home and Michael was overjoyed as he talked about her sentence and his reinstatement, but Marcie just sat there looking at photos of Tommy. Michael became irritated and yelled at her to snap out of her funk. At The Sun office, Todd made a call to someone and said he didn't care what the cost was, he just wanted "it" done. Ramsey found John looking through some papers at the station and asked what he was doing there because there was no way he'd ever get his badge back while he's in charge. John flashed his badge in Ramsey's direction and announced that he's not going anywhere.

Wednesday

Gigi showed up at the diner looking for a job and ran into Rex, who asked why Gigi needed a job when she and Shane are living at Llanfair. Gigi said she didn't want to have to rely on anyone. Rex joked that he knows she can handle herself because he saw her kick a guy's butt in sixth grade. Rex offered to lend Gigi a hand with Shane and said she can count on him. Gigi thanked Rex but said she didn't want to piss off his fiancée, just as Adriana called. After the brief call, Gigi teased Rex about having a well-to-do fiancée. At a nearby table, Nash met with a man with a British accent who said he was glad Nash reconsidered his offer. Nash asked why this guy's offer sounds too good to be true. He answered that their philosophy is to not meddle with something that works, but that there is one stipulation: Nash's partner must sell out. Nash remarked that if the price was right, he could convince Jared to sell out.

Sarah and Cristian basked in the afterglow of their first night together at his place, but their joy was cut short when Clint called Sarah with a request to come to BE ASAP. At the offices, Jared and Natalie tried to put out some fires via phone, while Clint told Nora and Bo that the "Colombia project" may have been sabotaged. Natalie admitted to Jessica that Jared may just be the company's savior and began to tell her about what Jared said at the ball, but an eavesdropping Jared interrupted in the nick of time. He and Jessica chatted about Allison's coma and Jess declared that she didn't want to believe Allison's lies anymore. After Allison left, Natalie asked Jared if everything was cool between them. He said everything was fine then thought back to his last kiss with Natalie. Meanwhile, Nora, Clint and Bo put their heads together to figure out who was trying to take them down. Bo wondered if it was Virgil Webster, an old rival of Asa. Bo suggested that they hire Rex to do a little digging, so he called Rex, who came right over to get the necessary information. Sarah arrived, too, and was a little overwhelmed by the file they gave her. The girls asked why she was so late and Sarah said she was in the middle of something. Jared offered to just give her the highlights. Clint suggested to Bo that they fight dirty against Virgil, but Bo wanted to play by the book. Nash visited Jared and asked him to sell his shares of the vineyard. Jessica and Natalie walked in just as Nash was saying he doesn't care what it takes to get Jared out of the business.

At the diner, Markko showed Gigi the front page of the newspaper with Marcie's picture on it and remarked that Marcie was once his English teacher. "I don't know what I would do if someone tried to take my son away from me," Gigi stated. Cristian arrived and introduced himself to Gigi, who started to go on and on about her experience as a waitress. Cris was disappointed to have to tell her that they don't have any openings.

After John flashed his badge to Ramsey, the new police commissioner barked that whoever's responsible is gonna get fired. Ramsey made a call to find out who reinstated John, and was shocked to learn that it was his own doing. Ramsey and John traded a few veiled threats before John walked out confident that Ramsey couldn't get him fired. Once John was gone, Ramsey caressed the bullet in his pocket that he'd left in Todd's bed. Later, Ramsey accepted a dinner invite from a mystery caller.

Michael bent down in front of his wife and told her that the misery is over and began to tear up the photos of Tommy. She went totally nuts on him and bent down to pick up the pieces. Michael reminded Marcie that Tommy is now with his biological father and urged her to get on with her life. He asked whether they were going to do that together or separately. She began to cry as she said she didn't know how to start over. Their intense conversation was interrupted when John arrived with news of his reinstatement. John saw that Marcie was wearing her coat and asked if they were on their way somewhere. Michael smiled at his wife as she said, "No, I'm not going anywhere." She sat down and said she knows that the most important thing is that Tommy, er Sam, is loved and that she and Michael have each other. John left and ran into Gigi in the hallway, who was happy to hear that Marcie was sentenced to probation. John said he heard Gigi was staying in Llanview and tried to warn her about Ramsey, but she said she knew what she was doing. Meanwhile, Michael managed to get a smile out of Marcie — and a kiss.

Thursday

Todd summoned his family to Dorian's living room and sparked their curiosity by wearing a Hawaiian shirt and lei. He brought them into the living room, which was all decorated like a Hawaiian bungalow with little Sam in an inflatable pool by himself. Starr assumed it meant they were all going on vacation to Hawaii and asked if they could bring Cole. Todd informed her that this is about family only, and they're going to Hawaii forever. No one understood Todd's sudden decision, so Todd lied that it was for business reasons and said he's thinking of acquiring a newspaper in Hawaii. Blair was willing to give Todd the benefit of the doubt and asked him to further explain himself, but Starr jumped to the conclusion that Todd wants to keep her away from Cole. Todd remarked that he could break them up any number of ways, which really irked Starr. He said she didn't have a vote in the decision to move, prompting Starr to call her father a dictator. After Starr stormed out, Blair asked Todd if this has anything to do with Ramsey now being the police commissioner. Todd wasn't very forthcoming, so Blair took off without saying where she was going.

At the diner, Cole apologized for freaking out Langston with his church confession the other day. But she said he could always confide in her. John called Cole and said he'd be on his way. Langston assured Cole that John would help protect him from Ramsey. Meanwhile, Viki and Charlie showed up for a date and reminisced about their meeting at the Bon-Jour. Markko came over and recognized Charlie as the guy who saved Jared's life at the ball. Viki commended Charlie on being a hero and was happy to hear that Charlie planned to stay in Llanview. Rex arrived to collect the money for Starr's party from Cole and Langston and swung by Viki and Charlie's table. Rex got all excited talking about Charlie being his dad and wondered if he'd inherited the "hero gene." Rex informed Viki that Adriana was in Paris — the one in France, not to be confused with Paris, Texas. Gigi arrived and was less-than-thrilled to see Rex at Viki's table. Gigi didn't want to intrude but was convinced by Viki. She talked about Shane's new school and his lack of interest in reading, and lamented that single parenting may have had somewhat of an adverse effect on his intellectual development. Rex told her not to worry and praised her on her parenting skills. Meanwhile, John met with Cole and announced that he's back on the force, so he'll be able to keep an eye on Ramsey. Markko asked Langston what she was up to the other day when she said was meeting someone from her group but apologized for prying when he recalled that group matters are confidential.

Nash reminded Jessica and Antonio how Jared had wormed his way into their lives and didn't deserve to be a part of the vineyard. Natalie pulled Jared outside while Jess asked Nash if she should be worried about him. Nash explained about his new partner's stipulation that Jared be out of the business. Meanwhile, Natalie successfully urged Jared to sell his stake in the vineyard and focus on BE. Nash was grateful for Jared's change of heart.

At Antonio's place, he and Talia distracted themselves from their casework with a make-out session. John called Antonio and left a message saying the nun who saw Allison with Jessica and Natalie was ready to give descriptions to a sketch artist. The cops went back to their paperwork, and Talia got all worked up thinking about Ramsey and his racist tendencies. Antonio was turned on by her passion and they started to make out again. When they came up for air, Antonio checked his messages and returned John's call. John came by right away and Antonio told him that Jessica was at the ball looking for Allison, so they decided to go to BE.

Cole and Langston arrived at La Boulaie, and Starr informed them that she would soon be out of their lives. In the living room, Todd described their cool new house to Sam and Jack. Meanwhile, Blair headed to the diner and told Viki she needs her help.

At BE, Antonio asked if he could question Jessica while John interrogated Natalie, who didn't understand why they needed her help. Knowing her history with Natalie, John asked if Nat saw Allison before her disappearance. Meanwhile, Antonio asked Jess if he could have a fax sent there and made a call to the sketch artist. As Antonio began to question Jess, she seemed nervous and suggested that it might be better if she sit down with John. Antonio remarked that he'd moved on with his life and wanted the truth, just as the sketches came over the fax. "Did you have anything to do with Allison's escape?" Antonio asked flat-out. Meanwhile, Natalie stalled when John asked if she'd seen Allison. The sketches arrived and clearly identified Natalie and Jessica as Allison's accomplices.

Friday

When Natalie failed to give John a straight answer about the last time she saw Allison, he was sure she was hiding something. Over in another office at Buchanan Enterprises, Lindsay brought Bo his PDA. Bo gave her a great big hug, while Nora watched and nearly lost her lunch. Clint asked everyone where Natalie had gone off to, so Jared went to look for her. Lindsay insisted on sticking around to help Bo, although sticking it to Nora was clearly her agenda. Meanwhile, John was badgering Natalie when Jared came in and demanded that John leave her alone. Natalie asked Jared to calm down and go back to work. Cristian brought dinner to Sarah and they started to make out on the fax machine, knocking over the police sketches that clearly identified Jessica and Natalie as Allison's accomplices. In the next room, Antonio tried to pump Jessica for information, but she changed the subject by asking about his love life. Antonio grabbed her chair and warned, "If those police sketches come back looking like you, you could be looking at a long stretch in Statesville Prison." She jumped out of her chair and told him to stop harassing her, suggesting that this is some kind of payback for getting dumped. Although he claimed that had nothing to do with it, Antonio admitted that he was still incredibly hurt by her past actions. Meanwhile, Jared and Nash stumbled upon the sketches. Nash was wary when Jared used his super computer skills to doctor them but was soon enlarging Natalie's nose with glee.

At La Boulaie, Dorian overheard Todd making a phone call about selling his penthouse, so she feared that he was setting up shop in her house for good. He broke it to her that he's moving the family to Hawaii. Dorian tried to talk some sense in him but — to no avail. Todd remained tight-lipped about his reasoning and demanded that she give them her blessing. Once alone, Dorian watched the surveillance tape she'd wrangled from a Palace security guard and watched herself rifling through the box of secrets. Someone called with a hot tip on the BE scandal so she decided to bring a photographer over to document Jared in action for Craze. She was about to destroy the tape when she spotted Nora rummaging through the papers and was beside herself with delight.

At the same time, Blair was at the diner talking to Viki about Todd's strange reasoning for the sudden move. Blair suggested that Todd wants to protect the family from Lee Ramsey. Viki realized that Todd is just running away rather than dealing with Ramsey, and Blair asked her to try to talk to Todd. Meanwhile, Ramsey was at the hospital talking to a comatose Allison. Michael came in and was perturbed to find Ramsey there. Ramsey explained about his quest to determine who helped Allison escape. He then headed to the diner and decided to torment Blair, who was started to find him hovering over her table. He asked if she was scared of him just like her husband. Blair said Todd's not scared of anyone, which Ramsey of course disagreed with. "Todd's been lucky ... So far," he said. "Is that a threat?" she asked.

Dorian arrived at BE with her photographer and succeeded in clearing the room save for Nora, who was irked when Dorian asked for a work with her. Antonio interrupted John's interrogation of Natalie to say the sketches had arrived. The cops looked them over as Natalie and Jessica anxiously huddled together, but the girls were barely able to hide their joy when they saw the drawings. Meanwhile, Nash took the original drawings and headed to Allison's hospital room. As he wrapped his scarf around his wrists and was presumably about to commit murder, Allison's eyes opened.
