One Life To Live Recaps
OLTL Week of February 23, 2009
Monday
Nigel, Nora, Renee and Clint showed up with suitcases at Viki's and asked if
there's any room at her place for them, since David and Dorian kicked them
out of the mansion. They explained that due to a loophole in Asa's will,
David even owns the Palace Hotel, so they can't go there. Back at the
mansion, Dorian and David celebrated their new wealth and Dorian couldn't
wait to get the Cramer women moved into the mansion. But when Addie showed
up at "La Maison Fleurie," she gave David a pie in the face. Offering
unsolicited spiritual advice, Addie asked David to consider what Buddha
would do. She strongly warned them against the bad kharma they'll incur by
insisting on taking over the mansion.
Nora chatted with Jessica at Llanfair and reluctantly admitted that Marty
has been arrested in the murder of Wes Granger. Jessica was concerned for
Brody and tried to phone him at St. Ann's.
Intent on learning what happened the night Chloe was born, Natalie insisted
on questioning the parking attendant at the hospital despite Jared's
reservations. They ran into Bo, who asked why they're at the hospital, and
covered by saying they were getting blood tests for their marriage license.
Bo explained that he was seeking a DNA test to hopefully disprove that David
is Asa's son. Before taking off, he noted that blood tests are no longer
required in Pennsylvania. Natalie and Jared, meanwhile, figured out from the
timing of Jessica's hospital visit that she went there after Chloe was born.
Bo rushed to Viki's with some good news for the Buchanans, and they took
great pleasure in storming the mansion.
Langston and Markko were shocked to hear that Téa had been working for
Lola's father all along. Téa arrived at the diner with the alarming news
that Ray is on the loose. At the loft, Cristian was out cold on the floor
while Ray threatened Vanessa with a knife. Cristian finally came to and
stumbled toward the stairs. When he reached the top, he wrestled Ray for the
knife and the pair tumbled down the spiral staircase. The men, both
unscathed, sprang into action but were interrupted by Téa and Lola. Téa
admitted she'd been working on getting Ray out of prison for more than a
year. Lola confirmed Téa's claim that Vanessa was framing Ray, and when
Cristian heard this, he pressed Vanessa to tell him if that was true. He was
sickened when she shamefully admitted to lying.
Dorian phoned Langston to see why she hadn't come home yet, and wanted her
home ASAP once she heard that Ray was in town. After Markko closed up the
diner, Langston wanted to celebrate his acceptance to Llanview University —
until she found an acceptance letter from UCLA in his bag.
Tuesday
Dorian and David were skeptical of Bo's findings that Asa was not David's father. Nora told Dorian to get out of her house. Dorian reminded them that Asa said on videotape that David was his son and accused them of manufacturing the report. Bo and Clint assured Dorian of the letter's authenticity and brought their things into the living room. Dorian refused to accept the test results and called the lab to have another test conducted. A cute little technician from the lab (played by ONE TREE HILL's ex-Tim, Brett Claywell) arrived and explained that David's DNA is a match for someone in Llanview — Rex! Kyle the technician deduced that this means Rex is David's son, not his father, and everyone was even more confused.
At Rodi's, Gigi noticed that Marcie and Michael were getting along quite well, prompting Marcie to reveal that she and Michael had made love for the first time in a long time. Gigi seemed rather annoyed when Stacy walked in with Shane and Rex after having a great time at a sporting event with them. Rex received a call from Bo and told Gigi he'd be back as soon as he could. Gigi introduced Stacy to Marcie and Michael; Shane was thrilled to have his aunt around and wanted her to stay with him and Gigi. Marcie caught on that maybe Gigi wasn't as thrilled. Gigi recalled never having much time for her little sister, who wanted everything that Gigi had.
Upon reading Markko's acceptance letter, Langston was disappointed that Markko hadn't shared the news with her. She soon realized it's because he'd be 2,000 miles away. Markko said he doesn't ever want to be away from her and will just go to Llanview U. instead; neither idea sat well with Langston.
When Vanessa confirmed that she framed Ray, Cristian went ballistic. Téa apologized for ever having anything to do with him marrying Vanessa, who claimed she didn't murder Lola's mother. She explained that she'd read about the murder in the paper and seduced Ray for his money. But once she was married to him, he became cruel and violent toward her, and she found a knife with his wife's blood on it. "I did nothing," Ray spat. Vanessa revealed that she planted Ray's prints on the knife, which she placed in Lola's jewelry box so that she'd find it. When Cristian realized that seducing men to take care of her was her MO, he was disgusted and called on Antonio to arrest Vanessa. Before she was led away in handcuffs, Vanessa called out to Cristian, "I love you!"
At Llanfair, Jessica tried to assure Jared and Natalie that she'd never put her children in danger. She sat down with her sister and expressed her wish to try to be sisters again. Natalie tearfully accepted her request, and when Jessica mentioned something about her memory, Natalie asked if she'd recalled anything further from the night Chloe was born. Jessica admitted that she remembers thinking there was something wrong with the baby. Natalie asked if she'd taken the baby to the hospital, but Jessica insisted that the child was never examined until after Viki and Clint found them. Jessica kissed her sister good-night, and Natalie asked Jared why he stopped her from telling Jess about the parking ticket. Jared said they just have no way of knowing why Tess/Jess went to the hospital and there's no point in mentioning to Jessica just yet.
Rex arrived at the Buchanan mansion and was perplexed upon hearing that David is his father. David didn't even question the impossibility of the event and offered Rex a hug. Dorian pulled David aside and asked if he'd ever slept with Roxy, but David was certain he hadn't. Rex returned to Rodi's to share the strange news with Gigi. Dorian, meanwhile, demanded a court order to have her removed from the mansion, so she insisted to the Buchanans that she and David were staying put. Nora and the Buchanans decided to stay the night, as well.
Wednesday
Moe made an attempt to reunite Starr and Langston, who had been giving each other the silent treatment since Todd's trial. Langston admitted that she hasn't felt so lonely since she was orphaned and really misses her friend. The girls reconciled, and Starr revealed that Cole is doing drugs again. Langston asked if Starr has confessed any of this to Mr. J. Starr said she had, but with no names attached. Cole wanted to bring Marty some breakfast at the jail, but Nora explained that Marty is not interested in having visitors. Cole headed to the diner to consult with Markko.
Roxy was confiding in her stuffed beaver, Morris, about her secret plan to keep the Angel Square Hotel afloat when Dorian overheard Roxy mention her name. Roxy looked awfully concerned when Dorian announced that there had been a DNA test connecting Rex and David. Nevertheless, she was pretty sure she'd never slept with David.
Rex was having a nightmare about Dorian and David acting as his kooky parents wanting to sign him up with a baby modeling agency. He tossed and turned while a scantily clad Stacy stood in the doorway. Oliver arrived at the carriage house with a bouquet for Stacy, giddy over what happened between him and Gigi's sister the night before. When Rex awoke from his nightmare, Stacy was sitting right next to him rubbing his chest. Gigi walked in on the cozy scene and told Stacy about her visitor. Rex asked Gigi if David is really his father or if that was part of the nightmare. Gigi advised Rex have a chat with Roxy about the previous day's outlandish revelation. Rex headed to the hotel to confront Roxy, who tried to lie that David really is his dad. To Rex, this didn't really add up. David would have been 12 when they hooked up, he pointed out. Just then, Rex received a call from Bo explaining that the results were not accurate. After hearing the news, Rex called Roxy out on her lie and demanded an explanation.
Over at the Buchanan house, David and the Buchanans argued about the murky DNA results. Kyle the lab tech returned with another bit of news. He nervously explained that he made a mistake, and Rex is not David's son. He reran the tests and came up with a definitive match: David is a Buchanan. David and Dorian high-fived, while the Buchanans were devastated. Dorian tried to dismiss Kyle, but he had one more thing to share: Asa is not David's father, Bo is! Stunned, Bo looked at David, who was equally surprised.
Noelle dished out advice to Markko on his Langston situation, then moved on to Layla, who expressed her regret that Fish is now preoccupied with Stacy. At the carriage house, Fish was honest with Stacy that he was seeing Layla when they “made love,” but that he broke things off with her so that he could be with Stacy. He talked excitedly about all the places in the house that they'd had sex, while Gigi listened from the stairs. But Stacy wasn't nearly as excited, and coldly explained that they had a one-night stand and nothing more. When Fish was gone, Gigi came downstairs and reamed out Stacy for her careless behavior.
Thursday
Kyle explained to the very confused Buchanans that the previous DNA results
were actually due to a computer error and that this time the results are
definitive. "We should probably hug," David suggested to a wary Bo. Clint
and Nora asked how Bo could have possibly conceived David. Bo explained that
he was in Vietnam at the time David was born — about nine months after he
shipped out. Renee confirmed that at Bo's going-away party, she was with Asa
the whole night. Bo said he was so drunk that night that he had a one-night
stand and barely remembers the girl. Renee said she did bring Emma with her
to the party, and the woman Bo described said she could call him anything he
wanted that night. Nevertheless, Kyle took one more DNA swab from each man
and headed back to the lab. Although David was certain that he was more like
Asa, he expressed his desire to get to know Bo better.
Lola was gazing at a photo of her parents when Markko caught her by surprise
at the diner. At the police station, Antonio read Téa the riot act for
deceiving the Vega family. As Vanessa was escorted past Ray's cell, Ray
sneered that he hopes she enjoys Plato Prison as much as he did. Marty
opened up to her new neighbor, noting that she's accused of stabbing
someone, too. Ray urged her to fight to prove herself innocent. After Téa
managed to secure his release, Ray recommended Téa as an excellent attorney.
Marty said she's already familiar with her work. Vanessa tried to convince
Cristian that he's the only man she's ever truly fallen in love with. Before
she was led away by ICE agents, she told Lola she never meant to hurt her.
Once she was gone, Lola embraced her father. Privately, she apologized to
the photo in her hand for everything she did to her mother, essentially
confessing to the murder.
Blair tracked John to Wes's old room and asked why he's so interested in the
crime scene. He countered by asking why she's always running to Todd. She
said she came to see him to apologize for turning to Todd at the ball
because she was angry with John. John assured her that he was truthful when
he said he wouldn't leave her for Marty. Nevertheless, she told him to admit
that he knew and secretly hoped it would be Marty when he suspected that
Todd was hiding someone in his house. Blair admitted she was upset that he
kept that from her, then told John that he's free to go running after Marty.
Blair ran straight to Dorian for comfort, while Marty called John and asked
for his help.
Roxy explained to Rex that Dorian instructed her to keep her mouth shut
about David being a Buchanan. Rex demanded that she tell him about his real
father. "How bad could he be?" Rex asked. Roxy said he was a "lawyer of the
worst kind," operative word being was. She claimed he's dead, and that she
killed him. Roxy tearfully pleaded with him to take this one to the grave.
But afterward, she confided in Morris that it's better for Rex to think his
dad is dead than to know the truth, which is that his father is "walking
around here closer than anybody knows."
Friday
Over coffee at the Buenos Días Café, Bo confessed to Rex that he has another
son — and it's David! Rex didn't understand how that was possible. Bo
recalled the night of his going-away party 41 years ago, and Rex suddenly
had the feeling that this was somehow his fault. Had Bo known at the time
that he impregnated Emma, he would have supported her, Bo vowed. When Bo
expressed his anxiety over sharing this with Matthew, Rex revealed that he
confronted Roxy about his father, and believed her claim that her father's
dead.
During gym class, a little tough guy gave Matthew a hard time about sitting
on the bench during a basketball game. A sassy girl behind Matthew said she didn't
like that kid either, and ended up giving Matthew some sage advice. Mr. J
pulled Cole aside and noted that he looks pretty high. He assured Cole he
wasn't trying to bust him, but said he was trying to prevent him from going down a
dangerous path. The teacher suggested Cole attend a meeting and even
recommended a place.
Starr went to the penthouse to confront her father, asking if he ever
thought about how committing suicide would impact his children. Todd
insisted that he never asked Ta to share that information with Starr to
stop her from testifying. Despite his pleas to start over, she advised her
father to make no attempt to contact her. "It's over!" she huffed, then ran
out. He followed, declaring that he's really trying to change, but she
couldn't take it anymore. She confessed that she wishes he were in jail,
then threw down the keys to his house and took off.
Blair told Dorian that she and John are Splitsville, and recapped the
conversation that led them there. She explained that she just didn't feel
like a top priority in John's book. Meanwhile, John responded to Marty's cry
for help and went to the jail. He assured her that he believes she's
innocent. She told John how much she liked Wes as a person and that he never
touched her, which surprised John. "He wasn't what I was looking for," she
said cryptically. John revealed that all signs indicate that Wes didn't kill
Lee either; both victims were stabbed in the heart, so there could be
another serial killer in town.
At Rodi's, Gigi was shocked when David announced that he is Bo's son, which
Viki happened to overhear. "You're what?!" she cried. David sat down with
Viki to candidly discuss the situation; Viki asked if he even wants to be a
Buchanan. He wasn't even sure how he felt about it, he admitted. She
asked him to think of the last time he was truly happy, and it was when he
was acting! David headed home to tell his wife that he's made a decision.
Blair, meanwhile, was in the living room giving a firsthand account to a man
with a tape recorder of what she saw the morning Wes Granger was found dead.
Stacy arrived at Rodi's with her hands full of shopping bags and ordered a
huge meal, assuming she wouldn't have to pay for it. Gigi suggested her
"struggling" sis look for a job, but Stacy wasn't thrilled with Gigi's idea
of becoming a waitress. Nevertheless, Stacy took her sister's advice and
went to the caf. But once she saw the waitress clearing dirty food from a
table, she was disgusted and crumpled up the application. Schuyler walked in
and clearly recognized Stacy; he even looked somewhat appalled.
Back at school, Starr ran right into Cole, who towered over her as he asked
if she squealed to Mr. J about his drug use. Starr said she never used his
name in their conversations, and blabbed that Schuyler knows a lot about the
subject from personal experience.
