OLTL Week of February 11, 2008
Monday
John asked Shane why he was in the closet and Shane explained that when he
answered the phone and no one was there, he got freaked out. He then
mentioned that Gigi was up on the roof with some guy. Meanwhile, Gigi was
about to answer Rex's "Is Shane my son?" question when Rex noticed a target
laser on her and pulled her to safety. Ramsey missed his shot, not only
thanks to Rex's quick footwork, but because Todd had entered and pushed
Ramsey over. The two men struggled, and the gun went off. Gigi and Rex ran
downstairs to check on Shane and were relieved to see that he was okay and
with John, but a bullet had gone through the window. Rex told John that the
shooter was at a building across the way about one story up from them. John
found their location and came upon Todd holding the gun on Ramsey, who lied
that Todd tried to shoot Gigi and Shane. Bo and the cops rushed in just as
John was trying to take the rifle away from Todd. Ramsey tried to frame
Todd, but Bo didn't buy a word of it and had his boys haul Ramsey downtown.
Gigi explained to Rex that Todd and Ramsey were after them, but Rex didn't
think that Todd would cause her any harm. Shane asked his mom who Rex is and
Gigi hesitated. "Go ahead and tell him," Rex challenged. Gigi explained that
Rex was just an old friend, and Shane pointed out that they seem to know
each other pretty well. Rex commended Shane on the bravery he'd just
demonstrated and said he must get it from his Navy Seal dad. Shane remarked
that he'd never met his dad but hopes he'd be proud.
Sarah and Cristian returned home from a gallery outing and argued over what
is good art. Cristian thought it was adorable that Sarah was so amused by
puppets they saw even though she felt like a dummy for not "getting" the
modern art. He kissed her and they started to make out again when Layla
walked in and scolded her not putting "the sock" on the door. Sarah said
they were just discussing Cristian's passion for modern art. Embarrassed,
Layla gave the pair their privacy. Sarah invited Cristian to the Go Red ball
and noted that her family is on the planning committee. Cristian happily
accepted and looked forward to spending Valentine's Day with his new
girlfriend. Cristian left, and Layla found an elated Sarah on the sofa.
"You're really falling for him, aren't you?" she asked. "Falling? I'm gone,"
declared Sarah.
At Victor Lord's crypt, Jessica demanded to know Allison's secret, but
Allison stalled and jabbered away about what a "cad" Mitch was. Natalie
threatened to take her back to St. Ann's, while Allison curled up on
Victor's tomb. "I'm happy right here," she cooed. "So many wonderful
memories." Afraid that Jessica would take her right back to St. Ann's,
Allison refused to say anything, so Jess decided to leave Allison there to
"sleep on it." She and Natalie slipped out the door and locked it while
Allison screamed in protest.
Michael visited Marcie in jail and was allowed to enter the cell. Although
Marcie was insistent upon pleading guilty at her upcoming hearing, Michael
asked her to change her mind. Marcie said there was no way she could do
that, and reminded him that she did a lot of unforgivable things, including
holding someone hostage at gunpoint. Michael assured her that a jury will
see it differently, once they understand how much she loved Tommy.
Flashbacks between Marcie and Tommy at the Bon Suites reminded us of just
that. Michael asked her if she still felt she has nothing without Tommy in
her life. She was about to answer that question when Todd was escorted to a
nearby cell. Michael asked his wife one more time to consider his request.
Gigi followed Rex to the door and informed him that Shane is not his son.
Rex nodded, although it was unclear whether he believed her. John found Rex
in the hallway and thanked him for saving Gigi and Shane's lives. John
remarked that he'd never want to see anything bad happened to Shane, and Rex
said neither would he.
Outside the crypt, Natalie wondered if they were doing the right thing.
Jessica reminded her that the woman in the crypt holds the key to her
family's future and stalked off. Meanwhile, Allison found a hidden
compartment in the crypt walls, and pulled out a shotgun and a package
sealed inside a plastic bag.
Tuesday
Over breakfast at Llanfair, Viki told Charlie all about the Go Red ball and
her involvement in it. Viki was disappointed to hear that Charlie didn't
plan to attend. He said he'd love to go, but would be out of his element at
such a fancy affair. He also didn't want people to gossip about Viki since
her return from Texas, but she was happy to let them gossip and wanted to
bring her handsome new beau. She said she'd have a tux for him in no time.
Michael visited Marcie in jail to wish her a Happy Valentine's Day, while
Todd and Ramsey argued about how they landed themselves in jail. Bo brought
in John with evidence that Ramsey was the shooter and some guards led Todd
away. Michael slipped Marcie a foil-wrapped chocolate heart and assured her
that he'd always be there for her. The guard informed Marcie that it was
time for her court appearance, and Michael reminded her one more time to
plead not guilty.
At the courthouse, Lindsay accepted a flower delivery for Nora and brought
it into the courtroom for her. Lindsay told Nora she would be in a "world of
hurt" if she pursued the case against Marcie, reminding Nora that she hadn't
won a case in a long time. Nora suggested that she just fake a meltdown and
cause a mistrial, pointing out that Lindsay could give her some tips. John
escorted Todd to Marcie's arraignment and threatened to change his story
regarding the shooting if Todd didn't cooperate.
Jessica and Natalie returned to the mausoleum to release Allison, who had
mysteriously disappeared. Natalie noticed the crooked plaque and managed to
pry it open. They realized Allison must have found a key in there and headed
for the house, where they found Viki in Charlie's arms. Viki explained that
this was the infamous Charlie Balsom. Natalie looked highly surprised when
Viki revealed that Rex is Charlie's son. Charlie said his time with Rex was
"very brief," and Natalie congratulated him on their reunion. When the girls
ducked out to look for Allison, Natalie told Jessica that she couldn't
process that bit about Charlie right now. Later, Charlie gave Viki a
cowboy hat-topped Eiffel Tower for Valentine's Day.
While Markko was getting her some café con leche, Roxy looked over the
heart-shaped box on the counter. Across the diner, a disguised Allison
spotted her "ticket to ride." Jared caught Roxy peering into the box and
asked what she was doing. She said she just wanted her secret back, as
Allison whispered that some secrets don't die. Roxy told Jared she knew all
about him and Natalie, and asked if he'd ever wished things turned out
differently. The look on his face said it all, so she headed to the counter
for a donut. As she sat down to indulge in her pastry, Allison covered her
eyes. Roxy turned around and was about to scream, but Allison put her hand
over Roxy's mouth. Allison informed her that they have some unfinished
business to take care of. Meanwhile, Jared sat down to fill out the secret
card and wrote, "Natalie, I made it up that I'm your uncle." He dropped it
into the box just as Natalie arrive and grimaced at him.
At La Boulaie, Cole brought a bouquet of flowers for Starr and a vintage
slap bracelet for Langston, who asked how he knew that she loves them. "You
mentioned something about it in group," Cole said, which appeared to make
Starr nervous. Starr left the room and listened on the baby monitor as
Langston said Starr can't know anything about what they're doing. Static
came over the monitor and Starr heard bits and pieces of sentences,
including Langston say, "Something sexy." Markko arrived with flowers for
Langston. Cole and Markko had a laugh when Starr noted that Langston's
Valentine is Cole.
Marcie's hearing began and the judge announced the charges. Marcie hesitated
when the judge asked for her plea. She looked around at Lindsay and Michael
before declaring, "Not guilty." The judge granted her bail at $1 million,
just as Todd walked in and announced that he would post it. Nora pointed out
that this is highly out of the ordinary. Todd asked Nora to go easy on
Marcie and said he'd thought a lot about what would have happened if he and
Marcie's roles were reversed. Bo looked back at John, who shrugged like he
didn't know a thing. Todd's speech couldn't be less sincere as he said he
knows Marcie is suffering — at least, he hopes she is — and doesn't want to
make it any worse for her. The judge accepted Todd's offer, but Nora told
Todd that she still plans to get him on the stand. Michael, Marcie and
Lindsay were walking by Todd as he dictated the Sun's next headline to an
editor. Todd admitted to Marcie that he was pretending when he supported her
in the courtroom, then asked if their home felt very "homey" without his son
crawling around there anymore. "I hope it feels like a prison," he added,
and threatened the McBains' lives if they ever come near his son again.
Meanwhile, John arrived at Ramsey's cell as the FBI hauled him off to a
plane for Washington, D.C. Afterward, John made a call and requested a
ticket to D.C.
Wednesday
Marcie returned to her and Michael's place at the Angel Square Hotel after four months of being away from home, and immediately noticed that Tommy's crib and toys were gone. Michael admitted that he took those things away so there would be no painful reminders of Tommy. Marcie started to cry as she talked about wanting to touch the little frog that Tommy loved so much, so Michael went out to remedy the situation.
Meanwhile, Blair was reading to a happy Sam when Todd came in and informed her that he posted Marcie's bail. Blair was dumbfounded. Todd admitted that he was blackmailed by John, so Blair demanded to hear the whole story. Todd revealed that he and Ramsey held Shane and Gigi against their will so they could get some info out of her about Marcie's whereabouts in Texas. He even told her that Ramsey wants Todd to silence Gigi and that he spent the night in jail because of a botched attempt on Gigi's life. Blair was concerned for her family's safety but appreciated Todd's honesty.
Bo welcomed Talia back to the Llanview PD but reminded Antonio and Talia that there will be no fraternizing while on duty. Lindsay brought in Bo's dry cleaning by and asked if they were still on for the Go Red ball that night, clarifying that it is not a date. Nora soon arrived with Lindsay's case file, followed by Mayor Lowell, who was quick to criticize Nora for losing so many cases and getting personally involved in them. After dismissing Nora, the mayor told Bo he made a very unwise decision by agreeing to be Lindsay's custodian and that he could be easily replaced. Lindsay felt terrible about Bo's predicament.
At Llanfair, Gigi and Shane shared a happy reunion with Viki and Charlie. When Viki introduced Charlie as Charlie Balsom, Rex's dad, Gigi said that's impossible. Gigi asked Shane to play with his borrowed video MP3 player so that Charlie could explain about the "one night" that spawned Rex.
At the diner, Natalie found Jared dropping a secret into the box, and Jared told her, "Everyone has their secrets." Jessica rushed in and Natalie went to privately talk about their missing mental patient. Meanwhile, Rex and Adriana arrived and finished discussing Rex's visit with Shane, who was supposedly not his son. Jared overheard Rex talking about his dad, Charlie Balsom, and asked Rex to repeat himself. "What's it to you?" Rex barked. Jared explained that he was just concerned about Natalie and her strange reaction to the news that Charlie is Rex's dad. Adriana remarked that it's a shame Jared will never get to know his real father, referring to Asa.
At Foxy Roxy's, Allison spooked Roxy with a pair of scissors and told her she wasn't going anywhere. When Nash came by to drop off Bree, Allison hid. Nash said he'd just seen Roxy go in to the salon with someone. That woman was a new trainee who's just trying on some smocks, Roxy fibbed. Nash begged Roxy to watch Bree for a little bit while he headed to a meeting with Jared. After he was gone, Allison wanted to hold "Tessica's baby," which totally freaked out Roxy. When Allison called Bree a little Buchanan, Roxy corrected Allison that she's a Brennan. "It makes all the difference who someone's father is," noted Allison, prompting Roxy to hold the scissors on Allison. She thought better of scaring Bree and put them down. As Allison was about to tell Roxy what she wanted, Michael arrived and asked for the key to the storage room at the hotel. She introduced Allison as her new trainee and gave Michael the key.
Michael returned to Marcie with the box and they looked through Tommy's things together. Lindsay swung by the diner, grabbed a card for the box and wrote, "I faked my insanity." Bo arrived at Llanfair and told Charlie that Rex was a good friend and asked if they could have a talk sometime. Viki informed a giddy Gigi that she would be attending the ball with Viki and Charlie. Once Bo was alone with Viki, he broke the news that Allison is missing. Meanwhile, Jessica came close to finding Allison when she stopped by Foxy Roxy's to pick up Bree.
Thursday
Dorian and Starr put together the gift bags for the Go Red Ball. Dorian
wondered why Starr seemed so down; she explained that her heart was being
"ripped in two" by Cole and Langston. Dorian replied that maybe Starr should
wait before jumping to conclusions about her boyfriend and best friend....
At the club, Clint and Nora flirted as she went through some Valentine's
items. Dorian complained to Starr about how conniving Nora is.
Meanwhile, Markko, Cole and Langston met with Rex at UltraViolet to discuss
Starr's upcoming Sweet 16 party. Rex revealed that he'd gotten Mary J. Blige
to perform. The teens were ecstatic. Markko notice that Cole had lipstick on
his collar. After, Langston pleaded with Starr to join her at UltraViolet,
but when Langston stepped away, Starr answered her friend's phone; on it was
a message from Cole, thanking her for Valentine's Day. Later, Starr got
dressed up for her night out, but wasn't looking forward to it. She confided
to her father that she's not sure she can trust her friends. Todd advised
her to let them have it if she finds out they're not trustworthy. Soon,
Langston arrived to pick up Starr. When they arrived, Cole was anxious that
they were there early. Starr confronted them and accused Cole of cheating on
her with Langston. Inside, Markko turned down the music and all of the
guests heard her screaming. Langston finally led Starr into the club and she
was stunned to learn that her friends had planned a surprise party for her.
At Blair and Todd's place, Addie broke down when she realized she'd never
been in love before. Blair tried to comfort her mother. Todd managed to make
his mother-in-law laugh by pointing out that since Addie never got married,
she never had to go through a divorce. Blair then revealed that they were
going to a ball and told Addie she had an extra ticket. Addie was thrilled
and made a call to someone she wanted as her date.
Viki worried to Natalie about Allison being on the loose. Bo and Viki
concluded that one of Mitch's people helped Allison escape. After, Gigi
joined them at the Buchanan mansion. Natalie feigned ignorance, then placed
an urgent call to Jessica... Jessica and Nash went to Roxy's salon to pick
up Bree, but Roxy wouldn't let them in the back because she had a surprise
for them. Roxy then brought out Bree, who looked adorable with a new
makeover. Meanwhile, Allison hid behind the counter. Jessica informed Nash
that Allison had "escaped," but also played dumb when he questioned how
she'd managed to get out of St. Ann's so easily. After Jessica and Nash
left, Allison told Roxy that she wanted to go to the ball. Roxy didn't think
it was a good idea, but Allison demanded that she put together something
"flashy" for her to wear to it.
Talia, Layla, Adriana and Sarah prepared to get ready for the ball. Layla
suggested they have some wine first. The ladies questioned Adriana about
Gigi and Adriana replied that Gigi's son, Shane, is not Rex's child. Layla
wasn't sure she should believe her. Later, Cristian, Rex, Antonio and
Vincent came by to pick up their dates, but when they entered the apartment,
found the women still in their bathrobes with gunk on their faces. The
ladies screamed at having been caught half-undressed. Finally, they emerged,
all looking fabulous in red.
Charlie stopped by the Buchanan mansion to drop off Shane. There, he ran
into Jared. Jared was puzzled about Charlie calling himself Rex's father.
Matthew came downstairs with Shane and introduced him. When Shane mentioned
that his dad was dead, Jared coldly replied that his is, too. Charlie looked
crestfallen. Charlie left, telling Jared that he hopes he sees him again....
Shane loved being in the mansion and hoped he and Mimi could stay in
Llanview forever.
Viki and Gigi left for the ball. Natalie didn't want to go, but Jessica told
her she had to. After, Jessica explained to Nash that the Allison situation
was her fault, and that she was the one who broke Allison out.
It was time for the ball! Dorian and Viki played nice as they complimented
each other's gowns. "Let's hope tonight there will be no surprises," said
Viki.... Bo was pleased when Lindsay put a confession in one of the "Get it
off your chest" hearts and told her she was brave.... Blair overheard Addie
calling Miles and told her mother that she can't have a date with him....
Adriana apologized to Rex for acting "spazzy," explaining that she didn't
know how to react when she thought he might have a kid.... Gigi approached
Todd with this greeting. "Hi, Mr. Manning.... have you held anyone hostage
lately?".... Natalie arrived after all and Jared was blown away by how
beautiful she looked.... Charlie confronted Jared.... Dorian pointed out to
Viki that Charlie and Jared were chatting.... Roxy and Allison prepared to
enter the event. "This is gonna be a blast," Allison ominously said to
herself.
Friday
After reaming out Cole and Langston for having an "affair," Starr was shocked to learn that they'd actually been planning a surprise party for her at UltraViolet. Starr was speechless as she looked around at all of her friends cheering and clapping. Once she regained her composure, she apologized to them. Cole and Langston were very understanding, given the circumstances. After, Markko came to get Cole and reported that Mary J. Blige had arrived. Markko was so freaked out upon meeting the singer that he could only get out one word. Inside the club, Langston showed Starr a collage of pictures of Starr from over the years that Blair had helped put together. Starr loved it. Later, she and the other guests danced. Her friends then presented Mary J. Blige, who broke into her performance.
At the Go Red Ball, Charlie confronted Jared and warned him that he'd make an announcement that Jared is his son and not Asa's. After, the guys went to a back room to talk in private. Charlie lamented having to pretend that Rex is his son and didn't understand why Jared wanted to be a Buchanan. He noted that Jared is obviously interested in Natalie, but couldn't be with her if he's her "uncle." Jared pointed out that Charlie is lying to Viki; Charlie argued that it was different, and that he didn't want Jared to hurt Natalie. Jared swore he wouldn't and pointed out that if he told Nat the truth, things would be over between Charlie and Viki. Charlie accepted that and was willing to make a sacrifice to help his son. Jared explained to Charlie that while he was growing up and Charlie was an alcoholic, Jared used to pretend he was the son of his mom's friend Pamela's husband, Asa. He wanted to be Asa's son because he heard from Pamela what a loving father Asa was.... Viki was surprised to hear that Charlie was with Jared. She and Natalie later went and found the men talking in the back room. Charlie asked Viki for a dance, leaving Jared and Natalie alone. Charlie and Viki went to the secret room and she asked if there was a secret of his. "There should be," he answered. She encouraged him to write one down.
Also at the ball, Bo and Lindsay had an awkward encounter with Clint and
Nora. Bo revealed that Allison had escaped from St. Ann's. Nora believed that Lindsay had helped Allison, but Lindsay denied it.... Rex was concerned when he spied Gigi chatting with Todd and went to break up their conversation.... Layla and Vincent checked out Gigi. Adriana became defensive when Layla mentioned that Rex could be the father of Gigi's son.... Natalie asked to speak with Viki alone.... Sarah and Cristian were surprised to see how many people had left secrets in the hearts. Sarah was startled when she saw that one of the secrets included her lyrics. She realized that that was Cris's secret.... Lindsay explained that the secrets were going to be burned at midnight. "What do you call the secret that doesn't burn?" Bo wondered. "Evidence," cracked Nora.... Todd and Blair had enough of the ball and planned to leave.... Lindsay posed for some photos with the mayor. The mayor then fired Bo. Bo handed it over, but said he's making a mistake.... Dorian scolded Nora when she overheard Nora mocking Lindsay.
Nash didn't know what to say when Jessica revealed that she broke Allison out of the institution. She swore she wouldn't let Allison "torpedo" her life again. "From what I've heard, if Allison wants to launch a torpedo, no one's gonna get in her way," replied Nash. He urged Jessica to fill in Bo so he could help catch her. Jessica agreed and went to the Ball.
Sarah and Cristian shared their own special dance at his loft. She sang him one of her new songs. He was pleased that she was returning to her music.
Meanwhile, Allison and Roxy watched the ball from out in the hallway. Roxy begged Allison to hurt the people Roxy loved. Later, Viki and Charlie went to where Roxy and Allison were hiding. Allison ducked out of sight; Viki informed Roxy that she knows that Charlie is Rex's father. Meanwhile, Jared told Natalie that he still has feelings for her. "We're family now," she said. "What if we weren't?" he asked.
Viki and Dorian stood at the podium and addressed the Ball guests. Dorian thanked everyone for their contributions. As they were speaking, Nora snuck into the room where the secrets were and accidentally knocked over an entire box of them. "Oops," she said. Bo and Clint wondered where Nora was.... Lindsay went and found Nora digging around the secrets.
As the mayor spoke, Allison prepared to make her move. Backstage, Jessica ran into Allison and Roxy... Inside, the mayor announced that Bo had been fired and the new commissioner was now Ramsey.... Jessica followed Allison outside. "It's over right now," she told Allison. "You're right about that, Jessica," laughed Allison as she pulled out a gun.
