One Life To Live Recaps

OLTL Week of February 1, 2010

Monday

Téa thanked Starr looking after Dani, and talk turned to Mitch. "I wish
someone would finally do something about Mitch once and for all," said Starr.

Marty was horrified when she saw Brody shoot John. "What have I done?!"
Brody cried. Marty rushed to John's side and discovered that John was fine,
so she played along with the escape plan. The EMTs (who were in on the
scheme) whisked John away and Lowell had Brody arrested. However, Brody used
his SEAL training to escape from the cops and joined John. They hopped into
a getaway car, which, much to John's surprise, was driven by Natalie. "What
the hell's going on?" Lowell asked Marty as the car drove off.

Stacy faked going into labor and a frantic Rex got ready to take her to the
hospital. Meanwhile, Schuyler was questioned about the oxytocin he'd
snatched to use induce Stacy's real labor. He felt ambushed when Kim called
to say they were on their way.

At the hospital, Rex and Stacy ran into Gigi, who couldn't help but react to
the news that Stacy's baby was about to be born. She had to accept it,
acknowledged Gigi, and wished for the best for the baby, but decided to head
right to Viki's cabin so she wouldn't be around when the birth took place.
Schuyler agreed to get to the cabin as soon as he could. After Gigi left,
Schuyler joined Kim and Stacy. "Let's pop that kid out of there," said Kim,
but Schuyler replied that he couldn't go through with it.

Dorian and Charlie stopped by Stacy's right after she left for the hospital,
and worried that Mitch had taken her. "We need to kidnap her before he
does," noted Charlie, who anguished that he was lying to Viki and using a
pregnant girl as bait to kill Mitch. Most people don't beat Mitch at his own
game, pointed out Charlie. "But we have to," said Dorian. "It's not like
you're killing a man," she added. "You're ridding the earth of vermin."
Dorian realized Stacy had left for the hospital.

In between kisses, Eli informed Blair that John was on his way to jail.
"You're worried about him, I can tell," said Eli, noting her distress. Blair
tried to prove otherwise by jumping on him. Eli wasn't convinced she was
over her ex. If he didn't want no-strings sex, he could leave, purred Blair.
They proceeded to have hot, no-strings sex.

Mitch put everything In order for the birth of his grandchild, and began
his plan to erase all of Jessica's memories through electroshock. "I won't
let you take my memories away," cried Jessica. "We'll see," grinned Mitch.
Desperate, Jessica started to play along, agreeing to raise the baby. "This
is a happy day," said Mitch as he stroked Jessica's hair. "What's going to
happen to Stacy after the baby is born?" wondered Jess. "Just think about
your child," urged Mitch. She was excited to have a baby, lied Jess, and
asked to see the nursery. Mitch untied her, and as Jess pointed out all the
things the nursery still needed, like bumpers for the bed, and a humidifier,
she sneaked Nurse Charles's cell phone into her boot. Feigning fatigue,
Jessica lay down. Mitch creepily kissed her forehead and wished her sweet
dreams. As soon as he left, Jessica retrieved the phone and dialed Brody,
but an enraged Mitch intercepted the call before he could pick up. Brody was
convinced that Jessica was trying to get in touch with him. Jessica was once
again strapped down, as Mitch prepared for her electroshock treatment.

Tuesday

Téa reported to Todd that Dani was registered at Llanview High. Todd worried that Dani was never going to forgive him...and wanted to know where he and Téa stood. They kissed.

Dani and Starr cut short a discussion about their dad's misdeeds to talk about Matthew. "I've known Matthew since he was a kid," said an amused Starr. He thinks she's some crazy, high-maintence girl, fretted Dani. Suddenly Matthew showed up, and reported that Jessica was still missing. Dani got a primer on her family tree. Starr made herself scarce, and Matthew and Dani kissed.

Rex ran into Gigi at the hospital and the exes had a bittersweet conversation. "I want to make things right for you. For us," Rex pleaded. "It's a little late to make things right for us," said a rueful Gigi. It must have been awful running into Stacy today, Rex acknowledged. Gigi recalled having to take a taxi to the hospital, alone, to give birth to Shane. She spent every agonizing hour in labor wishing she knew where Rex was, added a teary Gigi. "I will never stop regretting that I was not there for you," said Rex. "My heart still belongs to you." Telling her that doesn't do any good for either of them, pointed out Gigi. "We're all better off now," she insisted. Rex struggled to accept that Gigi was in love with Schuyler. "I wish you and Stacy luck...and happiness," said Gigi as she left to meet Schuyler at the cabin.

As Jessica lay bound and unconscious, Mitch learned Stacy was about to give birth. "Bring the harlot back here safely," he sneered to Nurse Charles. Maybe once Stacy's baby was born, Rex would decide to join his "true family," mused Mitch. Nurse Charles headed to Llanview Hospital.

Unwilling to induce Stacy's labor, Schuyler decided enough was enough and it was time to tell Gigi the truth. Kim and Stacy tried desperately to change his mind. "Gimme that shot," ordered a frantic Stacy. Instead, Schuyler got rid of the drug. "It's over," he declared. He was going to join Gigi up at the cabin and level with her about Rex not being the father of Stacy's baby. After Schuyler left (barely missing a hovering Nurse Charles, but running into a glowering Rex), Kim headed out in hopes of stopping him from blabbing to Gigi. Alone, Stacy talked herself into thinking everything would be okay, as Nurse Charles approached.

John made it clear that he wasn't happy that Natalie was a part of his escape plan. He admonished Brody but Natalie insisted she wouldn't have had it any other way. "I wish we hadn't left Marty holding the bag" for the escape, sighed John. As the police tried to overtake the van, John and Brody shot at the cops' tires.

Lowell wondered why Marty wasn't in the ambulance with her boyfriend, John. Marty came up with an excuse but Lowell soon found out that John and Brody had escaped. He ordered a search for them and arrested Marty for helping John. Cole rushed up and had to be restrained from attacking Lowell. "Go ahead, hit me," taunted Lowell. Marty urged Cole to let it go. As Lowell berated the cops for being "a bunch of amateurs," John and Brody listened from their hi-tech van, which could track Lowell's calls. Marty was carted off, and Lowell called Mitch to warn him that John and Brody were at large. "No matter, they'll never find me," said Mitch, as Brody and John pinpointed his location.

Wednesday

Téa and Todd kissed, but Téa pulled away. They agreed they wanted to make love. Giggling, Téa fell on the bed. "I think this was a mistake," joked Todd as they cuddled afterward. "Me too," smiled Téa, "and I don't care."

Rex was alarmed when he and Kim found Stacy's room empty. Kim lied that Stacy had been having false labor. Rex tried calling Stacy's cell phone but she wouldn't pick up. Suspicious of Kim, Rex asked what she was hiding. As he tried to track down Oliver, Kim attempted to call Stacy.

Nurse Charles made her way to Stacy's hospital room only to find
it empty. "That's not good at all," muttered the evil nurse. Meanwhile, Dorian was hustling Stacy out of the hospital. "Why are you in my business?" snarked Stacy. Dorian that explained that Mitch was after her, and it was her duty as mayor to keep Stacy safe. "Mayors don't do that," snapped a skeptical Stacy, whose cell phone started to ring. Dorian kept her from answering by explaining that Mitch was monitoring all of Stacy's calls to track her. A worried Charlie appeared and urged the women to hurry up, but he was too late: Nurse Charles showed up and put a gun to Stacy's head. "You betrayed Mitch, Dr. Lord," sneered the nasty nurse. "I wonder which one of your girls is going to pay for that?"

Charlie and Dorian followed Nurse Charles and Stacy up Llantano Mountain, which was being pummeled by a snowstorm. As Dorian pushed him to "step on it," Charlie worried about Stacy. Dorian explained to Charlie that Mitch had tried to poison her family, and commiserated with Charlie for having had to bury a child. She couldn't imagine having to suffer through that. "Well, you won't have to," a grim Charlie assured her.

"You are such a creepy zombie," said Stacy when Nurse Charles started talking about Mitch's male heir prophecy . It's not a boy, spat Stacy — and it's not Rex's baby! Stacy's phone rang. Nurse Charles let Stacy answer the call on the condition that she just say everything was okay. First Stacy lied to Kim that she'd gone home, then admitted she'd been kidnapped! As Nurse Charles grabbed for Stacy's phone, the car began to swerve.

Natalie ignored John's plea that she pull over and get out of the van, for her own safety. Brody and John used their van's FBI technology to ascertain that Mitch was at the Llantano Mountain observatory. He'll die before he lets Mitch take Jessica away, said Brody. They began heading up Llantano Mountain.

As Kim finally confessed to Rex that Stacy was in trouble, Nurse
Charles/Stacy and Charlie/Dorian's cars skidded out of control and headed in the direction of the getaway car carrying John, Natalie and Brody!

At LU, Langston was looking for Markko but found Ford insTéad. Walking in on him was becoming a habit, smirked Ford, who suggested Langston had really planned to find him. Was she going to tell Markko about their kiss? Wondered Ford. No, because it would hurt Markko, replied Langston. "You're not available, so I guess the only thing left is goodbye," said Ford. Langston said she wanted to stay friends. Ford agreed, then offered Langston his office if she needed quiet time to write.

Markko told Starr he was getting along with Ford. "He's not as bad as I thought," shrugged Markko. "The guy knows to keep his distance." Starr assured Markko that he should trust Langston, but was disappointed to hear that Markko and Langston were thinking of moving out...and surprised that Langston hadn't told her about running into a shirtless Ford with Markko. Langston came home and told Markko that she'd been looking for him at school. She neglected to mention that she'd spoken to Ford ... and now had a key to his office.

Thursday

In the blizzard, Charlie and Dorian plowed into a snow bank. The other car, which carried Brody, John and Natalie, had careened off an embankment. Natalie was unconscious but John found a pulse. She finally woke up and John tried to get her out of the car. "I can't. I'm stuck," she grimaced. John promised not to leave Natalie. Natalie urged him to look for Jessica. John refused to leave. Brody couldn't get a phone signal. Brody's phone rang and he jumped for it. It was Rex. "Mitch has Stacy," Rex reported. Brody tried to explain where Jessica was. Connection was lost between the two phones. Natalie smelled gas. John came up with a plan to extricate Natalie from the car before the gas ignited. Moments later the car was engulfed in flames.

Charlie tried to start the car but couldn't. Dorian wanted the car out of the road. The two started to squabble. Charlie thought he heard metal on metal. Dorian and Charlie started to head out into the snow, and Dorian heard a car horn. Dorian and Charlie trudged through the show until Charlie saw a light through the trees, and thought they had found Mitch.

Schuyler, also driving in the snow, remembered his conversation with Kim. Gigi called him and urged him to turn around because of the snow. He said no, adding that he needed to talk to her that night. Gigi asked for details but Schuyler wanted to speak to her in person. He hit a snow bank and his face slammed into the steering wheel. Gigi tried to get him to respond but he was unconscious.

Rex demanded answers from Kim, who Kim hemmed and hawed. Rex suspected she wasn't telling him the whole truth. Oliver showed up and was upset to learn that Stacy was in labor. "It's way too early," he said nervously. Oliver and Rex looked over a map of the mountain, then went to get a four by four vehicle. Kim begged them to save her best friend.

Mitch watched intently as Jessica woke up. He assured his daughter that it was just a little harmless ECT. He talked to her about her future and her destiny. He told her that her baby was on his way "right now." Jessica reminded him that she wasn't pregnant. Mitch wondered If Jessica knew who he was. Jessica didn't seem to know anything. Stacy charged into the room and was relieved to see Jessica, but grew concerned when Jessica just sat there and stared. Mitch told Stacy it was "time," and said he wanted to examine "the vessel." Jessica began touching Stacy's stomach. Stacy begged to be let go. Mitch suggested Stacy let Nurse Charles examine the baby. Nurse Charles reported that Stacy wasn't due for another 3 weeks. When Stacy confirmed that Rex was not the baby's father, Mitch demanded that she tell him everything and "don't leave a thing out." Stacy recounted what led to her decision to get pregnant by another man. Mitch was furious that his plan for his grandchild had ended. "Father, is that my baby?" Jessica asked.

Todd and Tea cuddled in bed, happy that the snow storm was keeping them in bed. Todd couldn't stay in bed forever and wanted to talk to Viki so he left.

Cole came home and told Starr that Elijah Clarke was representing Marty, but he couldn't do anything until the next day. Marty would have to spend the night in jail. Starr tried to get Cole to come to bed because he couldn't do anything more for his mom that night.

Friday

Dorian and Charlie continued to trudge up the mountain and came upon Viki's cabin. Dorian didn't want to pop in and reminded Charlie that they had to find "the crazy nurse and Stacy."

Gigi still couldn't connect with Schuyler via telephone. She listened to the radio and read about the dangerous driving conditions. Schuyler came to and tried to start the car and get through to Gigi, with no luck. Schuyler left the car and hobbled through the snow, tying a scarf to his left to stop the bleeding. Gigi put on her boots, getting ready to go out in the snow to find Schuyler, and was stunned to find Charlie and Dorian at her
door. Dorian explained that she had a lead on Mitch Laurence. As Gigi tried to help Dorian warm up, Charlie told her about the car that had plunged off the ravine. Gigi panicked, thinking it must be Schuyler's. She put on her coat to search for Schuyler, brushing off Charlie's offer to go with her with the explanation that she she was from Michigan.

Dorian reminded Charlie that they had to find Mitch before he hurts one of her girls or Jessica. Charlie bundled up to track down Mitch. Dorian urged Charlie to be careful.

As Rex and Oliver were driving up Llantano Mountain, Oliver told Rex about the Observatory. Rex found a copy of Stacy's will in Schuyler's car and was shocked to see Schuyler Joplin as the name listed to take care of the baby if anything happened to Stacy.

As Kim paced around the hospital, Kyle asked about Stacy's "false labor." Kim explained that Stacy had been kidnapped. "How did Mitch Laurence get to her?" Kyle asked, wondering where Oliver was. Kyle was able to get a call through to Oliver and urged him to tell Rex the truth. "Do the right thing," Kyle begged. Oliver looked cautiously at Rex, worried this wasn't the right time. Oliver and Rex came across the cars belonging to Schuyler and Dorian.

Roxy showed up at the hospital with questions about the baby. Kyle told her that Mitch had kidnapped Stacy. Roxy became hysterical; Kyle tried to calm her down, assuring Roxy that Stacy was not in labor. Roxy began to tell Kyle about the Mitch and blamed everything on "what really happened between me and Mitch Laurence." "The baby is not your grandchild," Kyle told a stunned Roxy. "That was supposed to be my grandkid," she sobbed, admitting that she loved that baby. She grew furious as she realized that Stacy had broken Gigi and Rex up about that baby, which wasn't even Rex's.

Viki and Clint were desperate trying to find Jessica. Todd came by to see Viki and said he thought he knew what Mitch wanted from Jessica. He told his sister about Mitch's visit, saying he should have just killed Mitch. "Killing Mitch is not the answer," Viki said. Todd remembered that he hadn't told the truth about Tess' return last year; he had kept his mouth shut. He felt bad and wanted to make it up to Jessica and Viki. A shaken Kim showed up at the mansion and Clint asked her what was wrong. She reported that Mitch had taken Stacy and started to cry in Clint's arms. Todd said that Dani reminded him of Jessica. Viki did not want to talk about Charlie, and Todd wondered if Charlie was drinking again. Viki said she was clueless as to what had happened to Charlie. Viki reported to Todd that Charlie had promised she would get Jessica back.

A sympathetic Nigel brought Kim some hot chocolate. Clint tried to explain to Kim what a monster Mitch was. Kim almost told Clint the truth about Stacy's baby.

Stacy couldn't believe it when a catatonic Jessica said that she (Jessica) was going to raise her baby. Mitch had a meltdown when he realized that this child "was not the messiah. He is nothing to me." Stacy sobbed and tried to explain that she just wanted Rex to love her. Mitch began to talk to God, vowing to "ensure the safe birth of the chosen one," and called Stacy the "whore of Babylon." Mitch told Stacy that she would pay and began to strangle her. Jessica ordered him to stop, and Mitch was delighted that she was talking to him. Stacy asked if she could go. Mitch threw Stacy out into the storm. Stacy began to walk in the snow, then bent over in pain as her real labor began.

Mitch resumed praying. The lights went out and Mitch viewed that as a sign. He got on his knees and looked at Jessica. "I know what we must do," he said. "God has spoken to me," he intoned, instructing Nurse Charles to leave. Mitch hinted that he would give Jessica a child.

Cole and Starr began to make love. Cole got a call and was overjoyed to hear that Marty had been released. Cole finally felt like everything was going to work out.
