One Life To Live Recaps

OLTL Week of August 9, 2010

Monday

Blair reported to Téa that she and Eli nearly eloped the day before, but claimed she didn't because Téa and Todd were getting married that same day. Téa had something more important to discuss with Blair: her plans to go to hospice alone. She asked that Blair become a guardian to Danielle once she's gone and provide a motherly presence in her daughter's life. Meanwhile, Dani and Todd discussed how they could persuade Téa to stay close to them while she's facing death. Dani wanted to take desperate measures to keep Téa from going away, but Todd recommended that they respect her wishes.

An anxiety-ridden Layla rushed into John's office and reported that Cristian's phone went dead when she called him about the file on Bennett Thompson. Kelly was in the room and knew that John was closer to proving Eli is Bennett. At the apartment, Cristian was out cold while Eli sorted through Evangeline's box of files for what he needed. But when Layla arrived with Brody, Eli had already split. They found Cristian on the floor and were able to wake him up. Back at the station, Kelly grilled John about the Bennett Thompson file, but he didn't want her to get involved and asked an officer to escort her out.

Eli headed to Todd's with some legal documents that Téa asked him to draw up. She explained that Blair agreed to help raise Danielle, which Eli seemed to have mixed feelings about. Nevertheless, he wished Téa well. Later, Téa and Blair lovingly discussed their rivalry, and a colorful series of clips illustrating their history played out as the two women hugged each other. Afterward, Blair ran off in tears.

During a confrontation with Ford, Inez was forced to come clean with James that she is his mother, which stunned Nate. Inez explained to Nate that his father got involved with some "nasty business" and became violent toward her, so when she learned that she was pregnant, he assumed the baby was someone else's and kicked her out. Nate was furious that his mother hadn't told him all this sooner and ran off, so Inez asked "Bobby" if he'd go after Nate. Ford wasn't sure that was a good idea. Before leaving, Inez swore that if she could have done things differently over the last few years she would have. James was upset with Ford for not telling him about his mother and asked for time to think.

At Llanfair, Gigi assured Natalie that telling Brody about her pregnancy is the right thing to do. Natalie was called to the scene of Cristian's attack, but couldn't get Gigi's words out of her head as she examined the carpet. Brody walked in, so Natalie faced him and delivered the startling news: "Brody, I'm pregnant." Meanwhile, Kelly sneaked into Eli's room at the Palace and started going through his things.

Tuesday

Today's episode was pre-empted for a GH Brenda marathon.

Wednesday

Charlie and Viki returned home from their vacation to find a very hungover David and a glowing Jessica, who was holding a baby book behind her back. Jessica asked her mom and stepdad to sit down so she could tell them the good news. "Mom, Charlie..." she began, as David suddenly entered and blurted out that Jessica's pregnant. David also revealed that Dorian and Clint have reunited, but Viki cared more about her daughter's pregnancy. David gave Jessica a hard time about not "sharing the stage" with Natalie, unaware that Nat's got some news of her own, and insulted Jessica when he suggested that the baby might not be Brody's. Jessica then tried to announce her engagement but David took the wind out of her sails on that one, too.

Meanwhile, Natalie stunned Brody with the news that she's pregnant. "Uh..." Brody stammered. "This baby is John's, not mine?" She reminded him that they didn't use protection and that it's certainly possible the baby is his. Natalie explained that she considered aborting the child but couldn't got through with it. Brody wasn't sure going through with the pregnancy was a good
idea, but suggested they tell Jessica the truth if there's a real chance that he's the baby's daddy. John, meanwhile, told Rex the same thing he told Kelly: Drop the investigation into Bennett Thompson. Rex agreed, and asked if John's noticed that something is bothering Natalie these days. John assured Rex that Natalie will be fine and will seek his help if she really needs it.

At the Palace, Eli returned to his room right after Kelly bribed her way in. She watched from behind a screen as Eli dropped his shoes next to he one she dropped while running to hide. She tried to retrieve it while he was in the bathroom but had to slip under the bed when he emerged to take a call. It was Blair, and Kelly listened as he lied to his fiance about how swamped he is with work and tossed file after file into the paper shredder. Kelly texted Rex alerting him to her situation, and advised him not to bring John. Rex had to cover in front of John, who asked him one more time to steer clear of the Bennett Thompson case. Meanwhile, Natalie begged Brody to stay quiet and give himself a shot at happiness with Jessica and their baby. John headed to the crime scene and walked in just as Natalie was pleading with Brody not to say anything to anyone about her pregnancy.

Before heading to hospice, Téa insisted to Todd that dying alone is the right thing for her, and was surprised when Todd said he wouldn't stand in her way. Téa informed Todd and Dani that she'd asked Blair to be Dani's legal guardian should something happen to Todd, but Todd promised he wasn't going anywhere. They decided to lighten the mood by playing a game of Monopoly. Afterward, however, T&eacutea and Todd had a difficult time saying good-bye as he accused her of "emotional blackmail" by saying she just wants him to be happy. Dani later apologized to her mom for being so awful to her, which just made Téa laugh.
"You are perfect," she told her daughter. The three of them then had a tearful, loving good-bye, ending with Téa giving them each a handful of coins to toss into a fountain each time they see one.

Rex responded to Kelly's S.O.S. and bribed a hotel employee to place a phony call to Eli about a mysterious visitor downstairs. Once Eli was gone, Rex crept into his suite and found Kelly going through the paper shredder. When Eli returned, he left a nasty message for Renee about the incompetence of her staff, then tossed Téa's will into the shredder.

Thursday

John walked in on Natalie and Brody's private conversation and asked why Natalie was so set on keeping her pregnancy a secret if she's now telling Brody. Natalie lied that she was experiencing nausea while they were working and had to explain to Brody why she wasn't feeling well. The three of them got back to business and John shared his theory that Eli is Bennett Thompson. Unfortunately, Natalie had come up with nothing to incriminate him in her sweep of the room.

Viki and Jessica were celebrating Jess's pregnancy/engagement when Todd walked in to rain on their parade with his bad news. Meanwhile, Nate visited Dani and immediately started pouring his heart out about his mom. When Dani started crying, he asked her what was wrong and Dani explained that Téa went away to die. Nate comforted Dani, then shared his own troubles concerning his mother and two new brothers. Dani reminded Nate that Téa kept her father's identity a secret for years but that she now knows Téa was just trying to protect her. "It's too late for me and my mom, but it's not too late for you and yours," Dani advised him.

Meanwhile, James and Ford continued to argue over the secrets Ford had been keeping from him about Inez and Nate. James clearly wanted to believe Inez's story that she was protecting them, but Ford wanted him to steer clear of her. James told Ford he has no control over who he sees and demanded that he stop telling people like Starr to stay away from him. At the PD, Inez confided in Bo about how she'd just made everything worse with the boys. Bo advised her to give it some time. Later, Inez took out framed photos of her three boys to put on her new desk.

At La Boulaie, Starr admitted to Langston that James confessed to having feelings for her. She also revealed that she and James kissed as part of a ruse to distract Todd's henchman when they were on the run. Langston asked Starr if she felt something for James, and although Starr wasn't sure, she insisted that she loves Cole and their relationship is her focus right now. Kelly and Rex returned from the hotel with the shreds that they salvaged from Eli's, but realized there's little they can do with the evidence since they technically broke the law to get it. Rex had an idea: He'd give Natalie the paper shreds and see if she could piece them together on the downlow. Kelly handed over the shreds, then walked in on Langston telling Starr about Ford's STD test. "What girl did Ford sleep with?" Kelly asked the girls. Langston revealed to Kelly that his test was negative, but that Ford was clearly concerned he may have picked something up. Disturbed by this discovery, Kelly took off. Starr decided to tell James to back off, and asked Langston to go with her. They soon arrived at Ford's apartment, to Ford's surprise and James's obvious delight.

At Llanfair, Viki and Jessica assured Todd that so many people would be there to help him and Dani through Téa's passing. When Jessica revealed that she's pregnant, Todd simply shook his head. Before he left, Viki reiterated that she believes he's strong enough to handle Téa's death. Todd returned home to find Dani looking distraught. She ran up to him and buried her tear-stained face in his arms.

At the PD, Natalie thanked Brody for agreeing not to say anything to John, but he reminded her that he never agreed to anything. Natalie beseeched him to think about what something like this could do to Jessica. Brody excused himself to call Jessica, and hinted to her that he's got some news. Kelly then rushed in to Llanfair and told Jessica that she may have slept with Ford after all. Rex arrived at the PD and ran into Natalie, who immediately shared her news that she's pregnant. Rex was thrilled to hear that she and John are going to have a baby, but Natalie didn't look so happy.

Friday

Kelly revealed her hunch to Jessica that Ford may have been lying about them not sleeping together because he went straight to the hospital to be tested for Hepatitis after their confrontation. Jessica wanted to find out ASAP if there's any way her child could be Ford's, but Kelly urged her against raising suspicion by going to the hospital this late at night. Instead, Jessica decided to confront Ford once and for all.

Natalie shared her pregnancy news with Rex and explained that her hesitation stems from John's recent loss of a child with Marty. Rex promised to help Natalie with whatever she needs during and beyond the pregnancy. He then showed her the briefcase of shredded documents and begged her to piece them together discreetly. Natalie agreed, but said she'd have to tell John what she's doing if she's caught.

At Rodi's, Brody admitted to Gigi's that he'd just learned about Nat's pregnancy and knows Gigi is already aware of the situation. Gigi urged him to have faith that whatever's supposed to happen will happen. Rex arrived at Rodi's just as Brody was leaving and said he knows all about Natalie's pregnancy. She soon realized, however, that she'd have to keep Natalie's secret for a bit longer when Rex said he knows things are complicated because John lost a baby with Marty. Brody, meanwhile, returned home to find Jess on her way out, and made sure to tell her loves her.

James and Ford were surprised to receive a visit from Langston and Starr. Starr introduced James to Langston, who explained that they're there to give James an answer to his earlier question. Starr proclaimed that she has no doubts about being with Cole and that James will never take Cole's place. James challenged Starr by suggesting that he and her "hot" pal Langston go out on a date. Starr and Ford seethed as Langston gave James her phone number. Once they left, Starr asked Langston what that was all about, but Langston felt she did nothing wrong. Not long after they were gone, the boys received another visitor, Jessica, who wanted to know if she and Ford slept together after all.

Cole stopped by St. Ann's to check on Hannah, who was still recovering from her drug overdose. Hannah was amazed to still be alive. Cole wanted to know why she tried to kill herself. Meanwhile, John ran into Eli in the hallway and tried to bar him from seeing his client. He noted that Eli's name was on the sign-in sheet from around the time Hannah ingested the pills. Eli wondered what John was getting at. Cole was thisclose to extracting the truth from Hannah when John and Eli wandered in. John listened as Eli suggested that Cole's the reason Hannah tried to kill herself. Eli asked John to please take Cole outside so they can speak privately. John agreed, clearly not intending to go far. "You're supposed to be dead," Eli said in a singsong voice once they were alone. "How am I going to fix that?" Hannah swore that she didn't summon Cole there, so Eli reminded her to keep her mouth shut or else he'll kill Cole. John managed to get the doctor to give him a moment alone with Hannah, and asked the girl to be straight with him about her so-called suicide.
