OLTL Week of August 31, 2009

Monday

Sergei asked Cole if he had been talking to the police. Asher and Cole assured Sergei that they didn't mess up his recent drug shipment. Cole wondered when the next shipment would arrive as school was about to start. Justin called over to Asher for some drugs. Asher was all "tapped out" so he gave the job to a stunned Cole. Sergei insisted that Cole sell to Justin. Todd saw the drug transaction from afar.

Dorian set up a publicity shot between the Mayor and his son Justin. She encouraged him to do another photo op with his son (he didn't want to) and he also suggested he not go after John publicly. Dorian had a photo taken of John and Lowell shaking hands. John planted the bug on the Mayor's desk.

Nora laughed when Bo and John told her that Mayor Lowell was running the drug ring in Llanview. Nora didn't know if she could get a search warrant to help them out. The judge came in and said he needed more than an audiotape acquired illegally. Bo explained what else they had. "I don't want to believe what I've heard," the judge said as he begrudgingly signed the warrant. John said he'd follow up. Bo and Nora had a moment together and talked about Matthew and his surgery. They were stunned to learn that Justin was the Mayor's son and they blamed Matthew's accident on him.

Oliver admitted to Layla and Cristian that he was gay, but he hates it. Oliver apologized for having hurt them. Layla could tell that he was struggling. "There is nothing wrong with being gay," Layla assured him. Olivier had his doubts about how the guys at the police station would react. Cris and Layla assured him that they didn't feel any differently about him. Oliver started telling them about his father's close-mindedness and his tough upbringing. He told them about meeting Kyle and how amazing it was "and then it wasn't." Oliver offered to move out but Cris and Layla said it wasn't necessary. "I'll get over it," Layla said with a smile. Oliver thanked them. Oliver got a call from his father with news that his parents were going to pay him a visit in Llanview.

Téa wondered why Todd wanted to marry her. "Do you want to marry ME?" he asked. Téa reminded him that they had tried this twice. She suggested they live together first. She wanted them to wait. "We're perfect for each other," Todd announced. A nervous Téa asked Todd if Blair was up to something, after Todd said that Blair couldn't hurt them. Todd explained that Blair had a file on her that he had torn up. Todd didn't think anything Blair could find would hurt them. "If there's nothing to hide, then there's no problem, right?" Todd asked. Téa just looked worried. Todd assured her that he would love her no matter what. Téa told Todd she couldn't marry him because...

Blair learned from Ross that he was still married to Téa. Blair was delighted to hear that. Blair asked for the details. "It was paradise," Ross remembered with a wistful smile. Ross told Blair that Blair was the woman Todd loved way back when. Ross added that Téa had loved him as "a consolation prize." Ross made it clear that Téa did nothing illegal when they were together. Ross blamed Todd for their break up.

Ross got a call from Téa. "I was just talking about you," he said with a smile.

Tuesday

Cole was hesitant to sell Justin drugs. Sergei watched as Cole and Justin walked away. So, unfortunately, did Todd who took pictures of the drug transaction with his cell phone.

Cole told John that he just sold a kid drugs. John told Cole he did the right thing. Starr ran into Cole and asked him what was wrong. Cole wanted Starr to get lost. Cole told Starr that he was now a real drug dealer. John called and brought Cole up to speed. Though Cole couldn't tell Starr the details of the conversation, he did assure her that this whole undercover thing was almost done.

John arrested Justin for possession.

Téa called Ross on the phone and asked her why she makes enemies wherever she goes. Téa suggested he call her the ex-Mrs. Rayburn and sign the divorce papers. He'd sign them if she'd give him what he wants, said Ross. Tea offered money. "Unfortunately, that's not what I want," he replied. Téa explained she wanted the papers so she could move on with her life. Ross insisted she name the new man in her life. "It's Todd, who else is it going to be? He asked me to marry him," she admitted. "Again," Ross said. Todd walked into the room. She tried to cover who she was talking to but made it clear that she wanted a divorce. Ross made it equally clear that he wasn't going to give it to her. Ross told Blair that Todd had proposed to Téa. Blair looked just a little bit upset. Ross promised he wouldn't sign the divorce papers unless Téa gave him something. "Something" that Blair couldn't help him with, he added cryptically. Blair promised something to Ross if he would sign the papers. Ross called Téa back and said he'd give her the divorce. Téa smiled, hung up and told Todd that she will marry him. "Get me a damn ring," she said as they kissed.

Blair was overjoyed to think what Todd and Téa would be doing now that Tea thinks she getting a divorce. Thinks being the operative word...

Todd showed Téa the photo of the drug deal on his phone. Todd began proposing to Tea again. He didn't know why Téa was taking so long in saying I do. "I want you," he repeated. Todd added that he noticed Téa had been a little distant with him.

Justin interrupted the mayor's meeting with Dorian. "I'm in trouble, Dad," he said. The mayor insisted that John had planted the drugs on his son. "My son doesn't do drugs," the mayor insisted. Justin returned to his election office with Dorian and the mayor. Dorian suggested they they come clean with the public, "not as a candidate but as a parent. It will humanize you to the voters." The mayor thought it was a good idea and asked Dorian to set it up. The mayor had a few words with Justin. "How could you be so stupid," he said as he slapped his son on the head. Justin started to cry. "Any more lies you want to tell me?" the mayor asked. "Did you or did you not buy those drugs?" "Yes, sir," he replied. "Who sold them to you?" he asked. Bo and Nora heard Justin tell his father that Cole had sold him the drugs. The mayor told his son he'd take charge.

John returned to the precinct and learned that Justin had fingered Cole. Bo and Nora listened to the mayor talking to Sergei.

Oliver told Cristian and Layla that his parents were coming to visit. "My life is over," he said. Layla suggested he tell his parents the truth. Oliver explained the level of his parents' conservatism. Even so, Oliver didn't want to cut ties with his parents. "They are still my parents and I love them," he tried to explain. A very glum Oliver went to take a shower. Layla admitted to Cristian that she was still hurt about everything but that she would get over it. Layla and Cris hugged.

Wednesday

David showed Greg and Rachel the video of them working out. Greg and Rachel started arguing. "This is good," David said. Greg said he signed the release forms. "I don't have anything to be ashamed of," Greg said. "Apparently you do," he said with a smile. Shaun saw the part of the videotape where Greg and Rachel fell on top of each other. "Will someone please explain this to me?" Shaun asked. Greg said it was all his fault. Rachel tried to explain that there was nothing going on between her and Greg. "He just pushes my buttons," she admitted. "And I don't," Shaun said. "Greg is moving in on you," Shaun warned. "It's the way that he is," he added. Shaun explained that Greg has the brains and looks but he has the heart. Shaun pled his case with Rachel. He asked for the chance to sweep her off her feet. Rachel said okay. "Sweep me off my feet, Shaun," she said with a smile.

Todd brought Téa breakfast in bed plus an engagement ring. Téa, though, didn't want to rush things when it came to the actual wedding. Todd needed assurance that Téa wanted to marry him. Téa was worried about what Blair might do to her. Later, in the courtroom, Téa got the divorce papers and was stunned that Ross had actually signed them.

Blair still couldn't believe that Todd had proposed to Téa. Ross was certain that the divorce papers would look "real." "Once Todd finds out he's marrying a bigamist, he's going to be done with Téa Delgado forever," Blair said with a smirk. Blair promised Ross that she would make sure all the charges against him would be dropped so he could safely return to Llanview. She watched as Ross started to pack for his trip to Llanview. "I want to see Téa in person. Perhaps I can squeeze a little more out of her," he said.

Justin and the Mayor met Dorian in the courtroom. Justin told Dorian that Cole had sold him the drugs. The Mayor was convinced that John had used Justin to get back at him. Dorian couldn't believe that Cole had sold Justin drugs. "Starr will be devastated," Dorian said. The mayor said they wouldn't be mentioning the Cole part of the story to the judge because that would mean Justin had actually bought drugs. Justin pled not guilty. The Mayor spoke on behalf of Justin. "He's not a criminal. It was set up by a man with a grudge. My son was framed by the man who arrested him — Lt. John McBain." Nora jumped to John's defense. Dorian hoped the Mayor wouldn't be going after Cole. The Mayor insisted that John had set Justin up. Dorian didn't think that that sounded like John at all. Nora told John that she hoped the Mayor didn't know that Cole was working undercover.

Justin sat outside the hall. Matthew saw Justin and wondered why he was there. Greg was on hand to give expert testimony. David wondered if they were going to see some fireworks. David asked Destiny if she just likes Matthew or "likes likes" him. Nora demanded that David take the camera out of the courtroom. "Good luck, Matthew," he said.

Nora assured her son that no matter what happens, she and Bo love him very much. Matthew said the same.

Marty was with Starr and Hope in the diner. Cole joined Marty, but Starr and Hope had to leave. Cole was happy that Marty had gotten her job back. John joined them. The Mayor and Justin entered the diner. The Mayor greeted them. The Mayor asked Cole about his community service. The Mayor said that people who sell drugs should be punished to the fullest extent of the law. Cole asked what was up with the Mayor. John said that the Mayor didn't finger Cole but warned him to be careful. Cole hinted that Sergei was talking about Starr, Cole and Marty. Cole was worried. So, John immediately arrested Cole for the illegal possession of drugs.

Todd showed up in the living room of LaBoulaie. Starr wanted the bad news first. "Your boyfriend is a drug dealer," Todd told Starr. Starr took a breath, wondering how she was going to handle that remark. Starr tried to explain what Todd really saw. "You don't know the whole story," Starr exclaimed when Todd said he was going to the police. Starr told her father that Cole was working undercover. Dorian listened by the door and heard everything.

Dorian left a message for Blair demanding that she come home right away.

Thursday

Matthew predicted that things would be getting ugly in the courtroom.

Téa and Elijah bantered about who would win. Téa's witness Lauretta Hogan came into the courtroom in a wheelchair. She had been injured in a gymnastics accident. Lauretta then stood up. "I owe it to Dr. Evans," she said with a big smile. Bo and Nora were speechless. Lauretta kept raving about Dr. Evans. Téa called Dr. Evans to the stand. Greg told the courtroom he had never lost a patient. The cross examination revealed that Clint had brought Dr. Evans to town. He emphasized that Bo and Nora had not brought him to Llanview. After Greg talked about how prepared Matthew was for this surgery, Rachel stood up and said that was a bunch of bull.

Starr stunned Todd with news that Cole was working for John. Dorian eavesdropped outside the door. Todd was angry at John for getting Cole involved. Starr begged Todd not to tell anyone. "Everything is under control," Starr stressed. "I'm going to put a stop to this," Todd said shaking his head. Starr gave Cole the heads up that his secret might be leaked.

Layla urged Olive to tell his parents he's gay. Oliver didn't want to talk about it. He had police work to do.

Carlotta told Cris that she hoped Oliver could find a nice girl. Layla met him for lunch and they looked at the book Cris had bought Oliver — "How to Tell Your Parents You're Gay." But Cris didn't want to give the book to Oliver. Guys don't talk about that stuff with each other. Carlotta served them some flan and saw the book cover. She gave Cris a look of concern.

Viki and Charlie popped into the diner and handed out Viki for Mayor buttons. They offered one to Dorian. She wasn't interested.

The Mayor told Justin that he's grounded. Charlie invited him to Viki's announcement that she's running for Mayor. Charlie accused the Mayor of dragging opponents down into the mud. Dorian told that Mayor that Cole was working undercover. The Mayor seemed delighted with this information. Dorian was relieved that Cole was working undercover. Then Todd approached the Mayor with the same information.

The Mayor called cop Keaton and informed him that one of the dealers is an informant. Keaton got the call when he was asking Oliver what he was doing in John McBain's office. The Mayor told Keaton that if McBain finds out he's involved in the drug scene, he's fried, and ordered Keaton to kill Cole if he knows about the Mayor/drug connection.

Oliver explained to John how Keaton had burst into John's office and fiddled with the electronic equipment. John and Oliver realized that Keaton was working with the Mayor. John heard Dorian on tape telling the Mayor about Cole.

John thought Cole would be safer behind bars. "Where Sergei can't get you," he said.

Oliver and John listened to the tape and heard the part where the Mayor told Keaton to kill Cole. Moments later Keaton came to Cole's cell and just smiled at him.

Friday

Greg said on the stand that Matthew's family was preventing Matthew from
living the life he wanted to. He insinuated that Matthew's family was motivated by
fear. Rachel demanded time on the stand. Nora wanted Rachel to sit down.
Téa said she was very interested in what Rachel had to say.

Rachel took the stand, clearly angry at Greg. Téa began to question her. She explained that Dr. Evans was trying to get to her during his testimony. "Dr.
Evans thinks I'm the one afraid of losing control," Rachel said. Téa
wondered why and how Rachel knew what Greg was thinking.
Téa brought up Rachel's past as a prostitute. The courtroom was quiet. "My drug addiction is a part of my past," she said. Next Téa mentioned Georgie Phillips, the girl Rachel murdered. Matthew wanted Téa to stop but she wouldn't. Greg look quite startled to learn that Rachel had been a
prostitute and had committed murder.

Rachel ran out of the courtroom and Greg followed her. Rachel admitted to
Greg she was terrified of losing control. "When I lose control people get
hurt, people die," she said. "That's why Rachel doesn't want to lose control," she added. Greg admitted it was a game. "I knew I could push your buttons," he said. Rachel suggested that Greg stay away from her. Instead, Greg pulled Rachel into a passionate kiss.

Matthew fired Téa. The judge calmed everyone down. Téa and Nora battled. "I've made some mistakes in the name of parenting," Nora said. Téa called Nora her kids' worst enemy. Nora slapped Téa. The judge ordered both Téa and Nora into custody. Nora and Téa ended up in the same cell.

Carlotta wondered why Cris had the book "How To Tell Your Parents You're Gay." Carlotta hugged Cris and said that she was okay with Cristian being gay.
"You don't have to lie anymore," Carlotta said. It seems Carlotta always
suspected that Cris was gay. "I saw the signs," she said. "I'm not gay!"
Cris insisted. Layla laughed at the predicament Cris was in. Layla explained
that the book was for a friend of theirs. Carlotta added that she'll always
worry about Cris. "You just haven't found the right girl to settle down
with," Carlotta said. Layla tried to convince Cris that the book would mean
more coming from Cris than from her.

Todd met with the Mayor. Todd made it clear he was concerned about his
daughter. Todd told the mayor that the mobsters could go after Starr and
Hope. "Why can't you keep McBain on a leash?" Todd asked. Todd left. Dorian
returned. Mayor told Dorian that everything she tells him was sacrosanct.
Dorian thought it was not a good idea that they boycott Viki's event. Dorian
added that Viki wants to debate the Mayor that afternoon. Sergei showed up
and told the Mayor that John had shot Keaton. Sergei thought about going
after Starr and Hope. The Mayor didn't think it was such a good idea. Dorian
interrupted their conversation. Sergei still wanted to go after Starr and
Hope.

Shaun came by to protect Starr and the boys. Starr wondered where Todd was.
"Why do you think your dad is going to get Cole killed?" Shaun asked Starr.
Shaun insisted that Starr tell him what was happening. Starr asked Shaun if
everything was okay between him and Rachel as he appeared to be talking
about something else. Starr assured Shaun that he was perfect when he said
he felt less than his brother. Shaun added that he couldn't seem to get it
in gear with Rachel. Shaun admitted to Starr that he thinks he's falling in
love with her. Todd came home. Starr assured him that everything was okay.
"Dad, Why are you so jumpy? What have you done?" she asked. Starr demanded to know if Todd had told anyone about Cole. "I took care of it," Todd said. Starr was worried.

John rushed to the jail because he knew that Keaton was heading down to
Cole's cell. Keaton, knowing Cole was working undercover, opened the cell.
Cole didn't know Keaton was involved and let it slip that he knows
the Mayor is involved in getting the drugs into Llanview. "That's all I
need to hear," Keaton said as he took out his gun. Keaton put the gun to a
startled Cole. John got there in time and shot Keaton. Cole looked
terrified. Brody arrived at the station. Oliver and Layla said they would
keep Cole safe; Brody offered to guard Cole. Oliver and John rushed out. John
called Todd asking if Starr was okay.

John and Oliver charged into the Mayor's office with their guns ready to
shoot.

Sergei walked into LaBoulaie and pointed a gun at Todd and Starr.
