One Life To Live Recaps

OLTL Week of August 30, 2010

Monday

At the country club, Destiny informed Matthew that she's busy cleaning up the mess Dorian left after her wedding debacle, and told her pal that he's changing, and not for the better. Meanwhile, Clint showed up at Dorian's bedroom door and gloated that David left her at the altar once again. He tried to rouse her out of bed by mentioning that she'd been discussed on MORNING DRIVE RADIO. Dorian stayed put, but was clearly disturbed by what he said. She then took her phone off the hook and retreated under the covers. Clint arrived at the country club wanting to have a chat with Matthew, who'd just been warned by Destiny not to become too much like his uncle.

Cristian and Layla were discussing wedding plans when a delivery arrived. It was an envelope from the Llanview University Art Department to Cristian, who was shocked to discover it was a grant offer. Layla revealed that she'd applied for the grant on his behalf. When a second delivery came, Cristian admitted that he'd sent one of her sketches to Adriana and had the wedding dress of her dreams created by a top designer in Paris. They made love to celebrate, then Layla phoned Adriana to thank her for the dress. When she got off the phone, Layla informed Cristian that the designer liked her sketches so much that he wants her to come work for him in Paris.

Kelly shared her fear with John that Eli might end up killing Blair, just as Blair was having doubts about saying I do to Eli. Nevertheless, she gathered herself together and the couple was pronounced husband and wife. Afterward, Ross toasted the newlyweds. Blair excused herself to change and found a phone ringing while Eli was in the other room with Ross. It was Kelly, urging her cousin to believe her that Eli is really Bennett Thompson, a.k.a. Craig Pattison, who killed his first wife, then killed another wife after he changed his name. When Eli walked in, Blair promptly hung up. He then chastised Ross for leaving his phone lying around. Afterward, Blair questioned him about his dead wife Olivia and his previous identity as Bennett Thompson. Eli pretended not to know what she was talking about. Outside, two cops showed up looking for Bennett/Eli/Craig, and Ross surrendered in his brother's place.

At the hospice center, Greg explained to Dani, Shaun and Todd that Téa died peacefully in her sleep and that the last thing she looked at was a photo of Todd and Dani. Todd jumped to the conclusion that Greg was lying and this was part of some greater scheme, while Dani was having trouble keeping it together. Todd wanted Greg to produce a body so they could be sure that Téa's dead, but he wouldn't do it. Shaun insisted to Todd that the Evans brothers are not setting him up. Dani interrupted them to declare that she believes Greg, who claimed that one of Téa's last wishes was to be cremated, and her body had already been taken away.

Tuesday

James and his brother Bobby cooled down in the steam room after a tough workout and commiserated about their love lives. Meanwhile, Langston and
Starr showed up at Llanview U. for registration and debated David's reasons
for leaving Dorian. Langston didn't buy that David intended to leave Dorian
and thought he was being blackmailed again. They changed the subject when
Starr's mention of hemorrhoid cream raised some eyebrows, and Langston
revealed to Starr that she does not plan to see James again. Sensing Starr's
relief, Langston pointed out that it's clear she was affected by her pal
seeing James. Starr, however, insisted that Cole is her soul mate and she
doesn't want to be with anyone else. Meanwhile, Ford told James that he
wasn't bothered at all by James seeing Langston, but James knew he was
lying.

John informed a relieved Bo that the Tahiti authorities had picked up Eli,
unaware that it was Ross who turned himself in. In Tahiti, Blair confronted
Eli about his crimes, but Eli tried to play innocent and blamed Kelly's
jealousy and overactive imagination on Blair doubting him. After she rattled
off the names of people he supposedly killed, he huffed, "Fine. You got me.
I confess." But his confession wasn't exactly what she was expecting, as he
then tried to pin the crimes on Ross. He apologized for putting Blair in
danger, but said he had to bring her down there so that he could make sure
his brother receives "help."

At the country club, Clint approached Matthew about his future. He'd clearly
done his research, recalling how Matthew schemed to bring down Nate after
he'd stolen Dani from him. Matthew wasn't sure what Clint was getting at.
Clint explained that he sees great business potential in Matthew and wants
him to start working some afternoons at Buchanan Enterprises. Afterward,
Matthew swung by the PD to visit Bo and found Nate in his dad's office.
Matthew was beyond miffed when he heard that Nate's mom is Bo's new
assistant.

Still at the hospice center, Todd assured Danielle how much he loved her mom
and all they can do now is figure out how to move on. Meanwhile, Shaun
confronted Greg with his suspicion that Greg is hiding something. All Greg
would say was that he adhered to Téa's wishes. Shaun returned to the room as
Todd and Dani were packing up Téa's things and said he's ready to take them
back to Llanview, while Greg is staying behind to "tie up a few things."
Appearing to have accepted that Téa's really gone, Todd agreed to hit the
road and toted Téa's suitcase out with him.

After completing their registration, Langston was thrilled to learn that she
got into the writing class she'd been so excited about. Reciting the
description, she said it sounded like the person who wrote the course
created it just for her. Langston persuaded Starr to sign up for the class,
too, and just as they were ruminating about who might be teaching it, Ford
walked up (with James) and announced, "I am."

In Tahiti, Eli asked Blair if she believes that Ross is the killer, but she
grabbed the gun that supposedly belongs to Ross and aimed it at Eli, saying,
"Not for one second." John, meanwhile, told Bo that wants to go to Tahiti
himself to extradite Eli. He then phoned Natalie to let her know that he has
to go out of town for a few days.

Wednesday

Marty stopped by Hannah's room just as Hannah was drafting a letter of apology to the shrink for all her lies. Marty was very understanding and thanked Hannah for trying to protect her son. She wanted to contact Hannah's parents, but Hannah claimed they want nothing to do with her. Hannah wondered why Marty was being so nice to her, and Marty said she understands Hannah on a level most other people probably can't, obviously thinking about her own troubled past. At the police station, Cole consulted with Nora about Hannah's case now that Eli's the prime suspect in pushing Marty. Although Hannah had been through quite an ordeal, Nora didn't think the judge would simply overlook Hannah's obstruction of justice.

After hearing out his Uncle Clint on the merits of joining him at BE, Matthew went to the PD to consult his father. Bo wasn't so much concerned with Clint's motives as he was with how the extracurricular activity might affect Matthew's schoolwork. Nora agreed when she later joined the conversation, but noted that this may be Clint's way of extending an olive branch. Unable to get both of his parents on board, Matthew walked out on the conversation. Meanwhile, Clint ran into Inez at the country club and was surprised to hear that she's Nate's mom, and very intrigued when he learned that she's also Bo's new assistant. Inez soon arrived at the PD, still looking for Nate, and stopped outside Bo's office when she heard Nora saying something about "poor" Inez. She rushed to her desk before hearing the rest of the conversation, which was really about Matthew, Dani and Nate. Matthew returned to the country club and accepted Clint's offer.

Kelly dropped in on Rex to thank him for his help with the Eli/Bennett case, but while she was hugging him, Gigi walked in and looked rather disappointed. Once Kelly was gone, Gigi asked if she should worry, but Rex assured her that she's the only one for him. In fact, he suggested, they're "going steady." Before heading out to her first day of school, Gigi expressed her anxiety about being a little bit older than the other students. Rex assured her that she'll do just fine. When Gigi was gone, Kelly returned and walked in on Rex in his boxer briefs! He quickly got dressed and they talked a bit more about the closure she's gotten now that they found her mother's killer.

At Llanview U., James assured Starr that he'll drop Ford's class if it's going to be a problem, but she didn't think that was necessary. Langston was about to let James down easy when Cole arrived to publicly accuse Ford of putting Hannah in harm's way. After the showdown, Gigi ran into James at a nearby bulletin board and was pleased to make a new acquaintance. Langston berated Ford for protecting Eli, but he swore he was doing it to keep her safe. Langston was confused.

In Tahiti, Blair aimed the gun at Eli and demanded to hear the truth. Eli swore that he loves Blair, but admitted that he was indeed married and was "ashamed" of who he was before. He explained that it was Rodney who recognized him in a photo that Melinda had shown him, and he had to eliminate the two of them to avoid being discovered. Blair couldn't believe what she was hearing, especially that he pushed Marty down the stairs. Eli swore that he loves her and still wants a future with her. Blair was sickened. She threatened to pull the trigger, but he tried to grab the gun away from her. A struggle ensued, and the gun went off. "Eli!" Blair cried with a look of shock on her face.

Thursday

John showed up in Tahiti expecting to see Eli in handcuffs when he found Ross at the police station. John rightly guessed that Ross is covering for his brother. Meanwhile, a bloody Eli rolled away from his struggle with Blair and knocked over a candle on his way down. Blair ran to check on him as the candle set some curtains aflame. The fire quickly took over the bungalow, and Blair's attempt to put it out only made things worse. Flames practically engulfed her as she tried in vain to lift Eli. Luckily, John came to her rescue! He burst in and grabbed Blair, then shut the door behind them as they ran outside. John asked if Eli was alive, and Blair revealed that she'd shot him and wasn't sure.

Todd and Dani returned home and went through the suitcase Téa had brought with her to hospice. Angry at her mother for dying without letting them say good-bye, Dani exclaimed that she hates Téa. Todd tried to talk some sense into the teen, who initially refused to listen but ultimately accepted that anger is just part of grieving.

Jessica was trying to arrange for prophylactic Rh treatment with Dr. Wright when Viki overheard and asked if something's wrong with the baby. Viki told Jess that she'd be in excellent hands with Dr. Wright, who'd just switched specialties, then privately asked her daughter why she was requesting Rh treatment. Jessica explained that she's just very concerned about the possibility of losing the baby again due to Rh disease, but Viki thought her daughter was being overly cautious since it's already been determined that Brody and Jessica's blood is Rh compatible. Lucky for Jessica, their conversation was interrupted by a call from Todd.

At Llanview U., Ford tried to explain his reasons for staying quiet about Eli to Langston, who wasn't buying it. Because Langston kept pressing, Ford finally admitted that he was attacked because he blackmailed Eli about his past. Langston found herself succumbing to her old ways when Ford planted a kiss on her and she didn't resist. James and Starr both arrived at the park, and Starr accused him of stalking her. He admitted that he was hoping to see her there and offered to be her sounding board on her latest Cole troubles. James and Starr were sharing a "moment" when they were interrupted by a call from Todd.

Destiny burst into tears at the Buenos Dias when she heard from Shaun that Téa's dead. Shaun was shocked (and a bit perturbed) to see Greg there, since he was supposed to be handling Téa's cremation. Greg explained that there'd been a delay, and Destiny wanted to know why Shaun was being so accusatory. Nate asked if Téa was in pain when she died, but Greg said the whole thing was very peaceful. He advised Nate that Dani is really hurting, and Destiny suddenly had an idea: They'll bring over a ton of food for Todd and Dani to eat. Shaun was disapproving of Greg's eagerness to pay for the gesture. When they showed up with the food, Todd nearly closed the door on Dani and Nate, but let them in on Dani's account. Destiny even surprised Todd with a hug! To Todd's relief, Jessica and Viki arrived to offer their support. Starr sat her father down and said she has something important to tell him about Blair.

At the diner, Vivian (Dr. Wright) met up with boyfriend Shaun and gave him a hug upon hearing that Téa died. Shaun admitted to Vivian that Greg had been acting very strangely since he started treating Téa. Greg, meanwhile, left Eli an anxious voicemail saying they need to discuss Téa's death. In Tahiti, Blair and John watched the bungalow go up in flames just as Ross returned from the police station and asked where his brother is. "He's gone!" Blair cried.

Friday

Jessica relayed her Rh dilemma to Kelly, explaining that Ford is incompatible, so there's a 50/50 chance that she needs the treatment. At the hospital, Brody overheard Dr. Wright say something about Jessica's treatment and asked why, considering they already know he's compatible. Dr. Wright tried to talk her way out of the situation, blaming it on a miscommunication, but he had a few more questions for her about the risks associated with Jessica's pregnancy. He made it very clear that he plans to be involved every step of the way and that he's thrilled to be a dad. Natalie walked up and a nurse made a silly comment about how she keeps getting the sisters confused. (DNA switch alert!) Brody pulled Natalie aside and asked how soon they can get a paternity test done. "This baby is John's no matter what," Natalie angrily told him. Dr. Wright later advised the confused nurse to keep her comments to herself.

John called Natalie from Tahiti and promised to be back in time for her first sonogram. Natalie was clearly feeling guilty as John told her how happy is about the baby. He returned to Blair's side and tried to comfort her when she blamed herself for not seeing what Eli was capable of. Meanwhile, Starr explained to Todd that Eli's the one who pushed Marty. Todd was more concerned with how Hannah's accusation had affected him rather than the fact that Blair might be in danger.

At Llanview U., Ford continued his attempt to convince Langston that he's changed, but she just couldn't trust him again. Over at Rodi's, Gigi caught up Rex on her day at L.U. and how there were quite a few hot guys there, trying to make him jealous after their Kelly run-in earlier. They kissed and made up, which Natalie interrupted to announce that Eli's dead. Natalie told Gigi about her phone conversation with John, and Gigi advised Nat to ease up or her anxiety will give John reason to be suspicious. They both watched as Rex offered Kelly a comforting hug. Meanwhile, Brody dropped by Todd's to find Jessica, who was taken aback when he asked why Dr. Wright was discussing her Rh treatment. Jessica lied that Dr. Wright is just being careful. Brody assured her they'd get everything "straightened out" at the sonogram.

Starr received a call from John, who put Blair on the phone so she could let Starr know that she's okay. Blair told Starr that she shot Eli and he may have died in a fire, but Starr couldn't bear to tell her mom about Tea. After they hung up, John reported that the cops found what they believe to be Eli's body. Blair was horrified upon seeing the charred remains and buried her face in John's shoulder. She later remarked how that man could have been anybody, but a wedding ring and a photo of Eli and Blair had been found with the deceased, so the authorities were sure it was Eli. Back in Llanview, Starr tried to bolster Todd by suggesting they have a beautiful memorial for Tea. Todd reluctantly agreed, and Starr left him alone to mourn. Just as Todd was looking at a wedding photo of him and Tea, Blair tossed her wedding photo in the trash at the Tahiti police station.
