One Life To Live Recaps
OLTL Week of August 24, 2009
Monday
Neither Marty nor Todd were pleased to discover that Marty was handling his last court-mandated therapy session. She suggested that they get through it anyway, noting that the only way to get him out of her head is for her to get into his. As he poured his heart out about Téa and Blair, Todd recalled his time on the island with Téa and the night she declared her undying love for him. "Blair just kept getting in the way," Todd lamented, but stated that he wants to be with Téa and only Téa now. The last time he really felt something for someone was with Marty and he screwed that up, Todd admitted. When Marty urged Todd to move on with his life, Todd asked if she was talking about him or herself. Marty told him to think what he wants — it's his session — so Todd agreed to move forward with Téa. Their session came to a close and Marty signed the document signifying his therapy fulfillment. Before he left, Todd expressed his sincere hope that Marty can push what happened between them out of her head and move on, too.
Elijah threatened to spill the beans about Téa if she doesn't settle in court, but she couldn't bear to let Todd know the truth about what she "did." Pointing out that Ross clearly wants something from her, she refused to budge. Elijah handed her the phone and insisted that she tell Ross to back off herself. Téa took the call and threatened to push him right back if he continues to hound her with his mysterious demand. Afterward, Téa begged Elijah to leave her alone. "I'll see you in court," he smirked.
Over a meeting at Rodi's, Rex informed Blair that he'd managed to locate Ross. Blair wanted to know every little detail. He had deduced that he was living with a woman up until about a year ago, but there's no documentation of with whom. When Blair learned that Ross is in Tahiti, she considered going there to locate him.
While brainstorming about getting her pal pregnant, Kim suggested that Stacy slip Schuyler a sedative and even produced a bottle of pills. Stacy accepted Kim's gift but expressed her reservations about drugging Schuyler. Kim urged her to get out the door and make a baby already.
At a press conference, Dorian challenged Viki to run against the mayor if she's so dissatisfied with his tenure. Charlie rushed in to confront mayor for shutting down a construction project that was employing hundreds of Llanview citizens. Dorian interrupted to publicly throw her support the mayor's way for his re-election campaign. Viki revealed to Charlie that The Banner's refusal to endorse the mayor may have had something to do with Charlie's project getting pulled. Charlie and Viki wondered why Dorian was trying so hard to get in the mayor's good graces. When Viki mentioned Dorian's suggestion that Viki run against Mayor Lowell, Charlie didn't think the idea was so off the mark. Charlie noticed how fired up Viki was as she talked about the rise in drug trafficking since Lowell's been in office. Dorian returned home to find Blair packing for Tahiti. Meanwhile, Téa was wheeling her own suitcase out the door as Todd arrived home and asked where she was going.
Gigi ran into Schuyler on the pier and reminded him that they do live in the same city and are going to run into each other from time to time. Gigi was shocked to hear that Rex told Schuyler to leave town. Schuyler remarked that Rex did make some good points, like the fact that he lost his mom and his job. Gigi encouraged him to look at the positive things in his life, like his work at the rehab center, but he wondered if it might be best to start fresh elsewhere. She begged him not to leave town, assuring him that she could get Rex to back off. Schuyler admitted that he still has feelings for Gigi and wants to kiss her again. Gigi was clearly affected by his words, then headed to Rodi's to confront Rex about what he said to Schuyler. Meanwhile, Schuyler was trashing his place when Stacy dropped in. He'd asked her to come by because he'd run into Kim, who mentioned that Stacy had been pretty upset lately. Stacy noted that Schuyler was out of sorts himself, and suggested they help each other. Schuyler plopped down on the bed while Stacy slipped something in his iced tea.
Tuesday
John called in Fish and Keaton and reported that someone within the department has been leaking classified information, then challenged them to be ready to intercept a major drug shipment at the docks. While Fish and John later tracked Keaton via GPS, Fish mentioned that there's something he wants to share with John. He started by announcing that he's dating Layla, which didn't bother John, then went into hypotheticals about relationships. Their heart-to-heart was interrupted when they realized Keaton had made a stop.
Schuyler asked Stacy why she's drinking iced tea when a pregnant woman shouldn't be having caffeine. Stacy tried to make Schuyler see that Gigi doesn't want him but Stacy does. Schuyler was surprised to hear that Stacy is still into him and noted that Rex has always been her No. 1. She claimed to have "quit" Rex and was disappointed when Schuyler suggested that there was never anything real between him and Stacy. Just when she thought she was making progress, he passed out cold. She got in bed anyway and undressed him. Schuyler regained consciousness as they were making out and imagined that he saw Gigi next to him. He kissed her more passionately, then started to freak out when he realized what was going on and kicked Stacy out of his apartment.
Gigi was still yelling at Rex when they arrived home. Their arguing escalated, and in an attempt to keep him from walking out, she leapt into his arms and they started kissing. After spontaneously making love in the living room, Rex reported that he's no longer angry.
When Blair announced that she's going to Tahiti, Dorian wanted to know if it's worth all her time and effort to break up Todd and Téa's relationship. Dorian threatened to call John to prevent her from leaving town. She begged Dorian to just let her live her life and asked her to watch the kids while Blair's away. Dorian insisted that Blair is doing this because of lingering feelings for Todd, but Blair argued that she just wants to stick it to Téa. Later, she was on a flight to Tahiti.
Téa, meanwhile, explained to Todd that she needs to see some clients in Tennessee. He tried to talk her out of leaving, recapping his bizarre encounter with Marty, who helped him see that he can really be happy. He begged her not to leave him and assured her that what happened with Blair in the cabana only made him realize what he really wants. "I love you," he declared, repeating it again for good measure. He finally got Téa to admit to loving him and pleaded with her to stay. Although she walked off with her bags, Todd followed her, grabbed the suitcase and got her to turn around.
Outside the loft, Layla assured Cristian that things were fine with her and Fish and that Stacy was the one who came on to him. Layla headed out for the gym, leaving Cristian to his outdoor painting. Kyle ran into his new pal Nick at the gym and thanked Nick for being so patient with him. While setting up their mats for a yoga class, Nick became acquainted with Layla. They got to talking about their love lives, and Nick revealed that his crush is carrying a pretty big torch for his ex. When Layla heard that his love interest is Kyle Lewis, she did a double take. Meanwhile, Cristian ran into Kyle and explained that he's removed himself from the situation, which Kyle is trying to do as well. Layla was confused as she heard that Kyle's ex is a cop and ran straight home to Cristian to share her theory that Fish used to date Kyle. "You knew something, didn't you?" she asked.
Wednesday
Kim was disappointed to hear that Stacy had failed to bed Schuyler. Stacy explained that when Schuyler realized he wasn't making love to Gigi, he kicked her out. Stacy lamented that Gigi was always the one to get all the attention, but Kim was certain that Gigi would get what's coming to her. Because there was no time to find another unwitting sperm donor, Stacy decided it was time to tell Rex the truth. Meanwhile, Gigi and Rex tried to have a romantic evening at home and ordered in from The Palace. Rex offered her a glass of wine and they toasted to a night away from the usual drama. Just when they were about to plan a trip with Shane to Disney World, Rex remembered one tiny problem: the child he thinks he's still expecting with Stacy. It wasn't long before Stacy was ringing their doorbell, presumably ready to tell the truth.
Langston arrived at La Boulaie looking for Markko and was disturbed to hear that Clint had run him and the TV crew out with a shotgun. Rachel assured Langston that no blood had been shed, then headed upstairs when Matthew arrived. Matt revealed David and the crew's secret location, the stables. Dr. Evans arrived and Matt ushered him into the living room, asking Greg to give him a minute. When Greg walked in, he was pleased to see Rachel in her skimpy workout gear doing some Wii fitness. She jumped when she saw him, then challenged him to a dance-off after he said he could give her some pointers. They got down to some serious exercising but when they tripped and fell on each other, the camera crew slipped in and caught them in an almost-kiss.
Langston went out to the stables looking for Markko and got an eyeful when she saw Ford dumping water over his shirtless torso. She clearly enjoyed it but when he caught her watching, he quickly retrieved his shirt. They got to talking about the botched reality show and Langston suggested they pursue a love story. Markko walked in and misinterpreted their conversation.
Layla admitted to Cristian that she fears Fish and Kyle used to be involved and asked Cristian to tell her what he knows. She recapped her encounter with Nick, who made it sound like the writing was on the wall. She asked once again that Cristian be straight with her and say what he knows. Finally, Cristian revealed that he saw Kyle and Oliver kissing and he had been wrestling with whether to tell her. He added that Fish pushed Kyle away, claiming that he wasn't into it. Layla refrained from getting angry with Cristian and said she wanted to hear the truth from Fish.
Fish and John listened to their bug on Keaton as he informed someone that McBain knows there's a mole in the PD. Fish noticed the voice sounded like Mayor Lowell's, and indeed it was Lowell. Keaton asked Lowell how he could get on McBain's good side, and Lowell advised him to act like a good soldier because McBain values loyalty. Once Keaton was gone, Lowell made a phone call to reschedule the drop. Later, Layla called Fish and asked him to come home so they could talk. Fish didn't seem to catch on that it was serious. Cristian offered to vacate the apartment for a bit so she could be alone with Fish. Lowell contacted John and asked just why he had a ship raided that was importing denim. "I had an anonymous tip," John reported, believing he was one step ahead of Lowell.
Thursday
Markko found Langston with the sexy producer, Ford, in the stables. Markko talked about his day of taping with Rachel and Dr. Evans, and they all discussed the topic of sexual tension. Markko didn't appear to notice the sexual tension between his girl and his boss. However, when Ford left, Markko wanted to know what he had missed. Langston insisted they were just brainstorming. "You're working on the show now?" he asked. "Maybe," she replied. "I guess." Langston then joked about how sexy Ford was. Markko got the point, imitated Ford pouring water over his head, then pulled her into a kiss. Markko and Langston made love — using protection, of course. Langston told Markko that Ford may have gotten, "the assist," but he got "the bucket." They both cracked up.
Layla waited for Fish to come home and demanded the truth from him regarding Kyle. She asked him point blank if he had a sexual relationship with Kyle and was stunned when Fish answered, "Yes!" Layla was incensed, but only because Fish had lied to her. He insisted that it was just harmless college experimentation, then Layla brought up his recent kiss with Kyle. Fish insisted that it's Layla who he cares about but she challenged him to tell the truth. "You're gay!" she insisted. Layla had a tearful dissertation about how they couldn't be together but Fish insisted that he loved her and asked for another chance. "I can't be gay," he stated. Layla told Fish that he was lying to himself and they both deserved better than that. She then asked Fish to leave. Fish told Layla he never meant to hurt her. Once she slammed the door, Fish started to weep.
Stacy and her pal from Vegas, Kimberly, arrived at Rex and Gigi's to discuss the baby. Gigi and Kim got into it but Stacy declared she had something to say. Then, Shane came home and read Stacy the riot act. When Shane blurted that he wished Stacy's baby was dead, Stacy almost cracked. However, Kim stood up for her friend and insisted that Stacy and the baby weren't going anywhere. After the girls left, Shane apologized for what he said. The gals went to the bar and Stacy thanked her friend for having her back. Stacy then asked for some time alone.
John checked in with Cole to see how he was doing. Cole said it was tough to be holding drugs and not using but vowed he'd never put Starr through that again. Cole gave John details of the drug deals. John noted that Cole sounded like a real cop. John wondered where the drugs were coming from but didn't want to share his theories with Cole in order to keep him safe. Cole saw John staring at the mayor's poster and realized that Mayor Lowell was the drug kingpin. John assured Cole they would bring down the bad guy.
After watching the mayor pontificate on TV, a frustrated Viki said that she couldn't spend another four years listening to that blowhard and half-heartedly wondered about running for the office herself. Viki told Charlie that she didn't want to put her family under public scrutiny. "Viki, Llanview needs you," assured Charlie. Viki wrapped her arms around Charlie and kissed him. Charlie told Viki she needed to call the kids and share her decision with them.
Dorian met with Stanley, who was offended that Starr was a teen mother. Dorian assured the mayor that she was looking forward to contributing to his campaign, then mentioned his place on the hospital board and asked him to pull some strings for her. The mayor told Dorian not to get any funny ideas. Lowell stated that he's friends with the current Chief of Staff and wasn't going to get involved in hospital politics. Dorian said it's a shame that neither she nor her wealthy friends would be contributing to his campaign.
Lowell then told Dorian to forget about rejoining the hospital and asked her to be his campaign manager. Promising her a voice in his administration, the mayor said he was aiming for governor next, and the sky was the limit. Dorian liked the idea and accepted the offer. Just then, Starr walked in with the baby and was appalled that her aunt would work for someone who looked down on single mothers. Dorian had Starr and the baby pose with the mayor. "Everyone say White House," Dorian grinned as she took their picture.
Friday
Layla caught up Cristian on her confrontation with Fish and blamed herself for not seeing the red flags sooner. Nevertheless, she knew that wherever he is right now, he's hurting, too. She recognized that he's been lying to himself for years and needs to face facts. Cristian tried to understand but was upset that Fish would use her like that. Layla thanked Cristian for looking out for her but ultimately sharing what he knew. He gave her a comforting hug, just as Fish arrived home to face his roommates. He asked them both to stick around for a moment so that he could finally say the words, "I'm gay."
Fish woke up in Stacy's bed to a strange girl (Kim) handing him some aspirin. Stacy sauntered over from the kitchen and recalled how they offered each other some mutual comfort the night before. Via flashback, we saw Kyle loudly confronting Fish at Rodi's while Stacy listened in. Kyle suggested they go somewhere more private to talk, but Oliver asked Kyle to leave him alone. Having overheard most of the conversation, Stacy told Oliver that Layla gave up a good man. In the present, he told Stacy that he hurt someone he really cares about. When Fish asked Stacy if they spent the night together, Stacy recalled dragging a drunken Fish home and seducing him. In the harsh light of day, he apologized for using her and walked out.
Viki gathered her family at Rodi's to announce her tentative plans to run for mayor. Everyone was thrilled for her, but Viki warned them that this means their private lives are about to become fair game to the press. She asked them to all think about that before she decides to run. Natalie and Jessica were forced to admit that someone's been trying to make them think Nash is haunting them. Viki was concerned but Jess assured her that Bo is looking into it.
While working on Mayor Lowell's reelection campaign, Dorian, received a call Blair, who had just arrived at Ross Rayburn's pad in Tahiti. She gloated that she's close to finding out Téa's big secret. Just as Dorian was filling her niece in on Todd's plans to sue for joint custody, Starr walked in and asked to speak with her mom. Blair remained mum about her whereabouts, to Starr's annoyance. Dorian lied to Starr that Blair is on a "fact-finding mission" for Craze. Starr was even more irked when she spotted the photo of her and Mayor Lowell with baby Hope on the cover of The Sun. Meanwhile, the Buchanan-Banks family rolled their eyes when they saw the front page at Rodi's. Just as Dorian was chirping to Starr about how the mayor might be running unopposed, Viki and the gang showed up to announce her campaign plans.
Todd and Téa woke up after a blissful evening together and exchanged more loving words. His phone began buzzing and it was Elijah, informing him that he no longer has to live with Blair. Elijah listened as Todd whispered to Téa that the judge overturned his ruling and asked to speak with Téa himself. Elijah taunted Téa with his plan to tell Todd all about her. They continued to speak in code, and when Todd walked in on Téa yelling at the lawyer, Téa had to spin a cover story. Meanwhile, Ross caught Blair breaking into his house. After a brief game of catch-up, Blair threatened to call John McBain if he didn't tell her something about what Téa's been up to for the last few years. Back in Llanview, Todd surprised Téa with a marriage proposal, just as Ross admitted to Blair that he's married to Téa.
