Gigi was telling Rex it was over just as Roxy walked and in asked why in the world they would break up. When Rex replied that Brody slept with Gigi, Roxy didn't believe it. Stacy walked in with a smile on her face; Roxy guessed that she was behind the breakup. Rex was grateful to hear that Stacy was going to save his son's life, and Stacy was delighted.
Marcie walked up to Hope's grave just as Natalie was saying out loud that the grave doesn't even have the right name on it. Marcie hadn't heard what she said, and approached the grave with a bouquet. She confessed to Natalie that she used to dream almost nightly that Hope never died. Natalie expressed her hesitation about being Chloe's godmother, but Marcie assured Nat that she's the right woman for the job. Meanwhile, Jared sought his father's advice, asking what he would do if he knew something that would change someone's life. Charlie went into a panic when he thought his son has yet another secret, but Jared assured Charlie this one's not about him. In a roundabout way, he was asking his dad to agree that it's okay to keep his mouth shut. Natalie returned home and told Jared about her run-in with Marcie. They both agreed that there was little benefit to revealing the truth about Jessica's baby.
John explained to Marty that Zach has been released from prison and could be in Llanview. He instructed Fish to check every boardinghouse, hotel and motel in town, but Marty wondered why Zach hadn't gone after her yet if he is the killer. John explained that Zach is a person of interest at this point, but it's certainly a possibility.
Meanwhile, Zach waltzed into Todd's office and announced that he served his full time in jail, unlike Todd. He said he and Powell never wanted to rape Marty and that they listened to whatever Todd said back in the day. Zach revealed that he had been reading the newspapers and knew all about the stabbings in Llanview. He pointed out that it's a pretty bad time to be friends with Marty. When Todd asked Zach if he stabbed Blair, Zach told him they both know the answer to that question. He demanded that Todd fork over one of his millions for taking the best years of Zach's life away. "I owe you nothing," Todd spat. Zach left, muttering to himself, "This isn't over, Manning."
Starr was begging Schuyler to sleep with him when they both heard a loud knock at the door. Cole threatened to kick in the door when Schuyler didn't answer. When Schuyler finally got some clothes on and opened the door, Cole came storming in and looked all over the apartment for Starr, who was hiding in the bathroom. "Are you sleeping with her?" Cole asked point-blank. Schuyler swore he isn't involved with Cole's ex, but Cole angrily accused Schuyler of behaving inappropriately with Starr. Once Cole was gone, Starr came out and told Schuyler she knows he was lying to Cole. Schuyler denied having any feelings and tried to make it clear that he doesn't want Starr in any way. When she ran out in tears, Cole was standing at the end of the hallway. He headed to Hope's grave and took a pill.
Before visiting their son, Gigi and Rex agreed to keep up appearances for Shane's sake. But when Rex walked in with a big fake smile, Shane told him to drop the act. To Rex and Gigi's relief, Shane was talking about his donor falling through. Gigi announced that Shane already has another donor, and Shane was elated to hear that his aunt was a match. He called Stacy "the best person on the planet," then noticed that his mom was crying. Gigi claimed they were tears of joy. In the hospital lounge, Roxy told Stacy that she's onto her blackmail scheme. Kyle returned with the file proving that Stacy lied about being a match. Stacy informed Kyle that he's about to help them save Shane's life. Roxy stood by as Stacy calmly explained to Kyle that he's going to extract the marrow from John Doe and say it's Stacy's. Blinded by her sexy act (or the fact that she and Roxy were both standing there staring at him uncomfortably), he agreed to meet John Doe.
Tuesday
David phoned Dorian and sensed that she wasn't having a good day. When Ray walked in the room, she raised her voice as she called David "baby" and "darling." David was pleased to inform her that he was going to be on TV in a new commercial. She murmured a few sweet nothings for Ray's benefit then gloated about how successful her husband is. But Dorian was mortified when she saw David pushing hemorrhoid cream in a tuxedo. Afterward, David called Dorian for some congratulations. She asked him to come home so they can celebrate together. He broke it to her that he's now the spokesperson of Have-A-Seat and has more shooting to do. After he briskly got off the phone, Ray approached her and gave her a kiss, which Dorian tentatively accepted.
After attending a gym class with Bree, Jessica ran into Brody at Serenity Springs. He pulled her aside and tried to tell her that he feels the same way about her, but Jess got the wrong idea and left for Matthew's party. Natalie and Jared arrived at the mansion, where Viki was thrilled to hear that Jessica wanted Natalie and Jared to be her child's godmother. Before they could explain why they hadn't given Jessica an answer yet, Bo and Nora came home with Matthew. When he saw all of the people waiting for him and the big "Welcome Home Matthew" banner, he stopped dead in his tracks and asked what's going on. He didn't want any sort of celebration and just wanted to be alone. When Clint tried to comfort Nora, she wanted to be by herself, too. Her spirits were lifted, however, when Hank showed up with their daughter, Rachel. Meanwhile, Natalie and Jared finally told Jessica that they'll happily be Chloe's godparents.
Destiny went to see her brother Shaun at La Boulaie and suggested he find the person they both know can help Matthew. Whoever it was, Shaun didn't want to call him and sent Destiny on her way.
At the hospital, things were awkward between Gigi and Rex when Shane asked them to engage in a family hug. Stacy clearly hadn't thought much further ahead than handing over a piece of paper when Michael asked if she was ready to get started. Stacy paled at the mention of injections and refused to go with the doctor, explaining that she doesn't have health insurance. Michael revealed that a lot of the people who tested for the marrow made financial donations, so she doesn't have to worry about that. Shane was overly enthused and wanted to know if there was any extra cash for a new Z-Box game.
When Kyle realized where Roxy was taking him, he had second thoughts about obtaining bone marrow from a patient in a long-term care facility. Meanwhile, Gigi hauled Stacy outside and asked why she's hesitating about the bone-marrow procedure. Michael interrupted and dragged her off to an examining room. Brody called to check up on Gigi and asked if Stacy had come through yet. Gigi cried as she told him about her awful conversation with Rex, who suddenly grabbed her cell phone away and told Brody to keep it in his pants until later. He explained all the possible side effects, just as Kyle was preparing to harvest stem cells from the "creep" who fathered Rex. Stacy called Roxy to complain about the injections. Roxy just told her she hopes the injections make Stacy fat. After fantasizing about saving Shane's life and winning Rex's affections, Stacy agreed to the injections, just as Kyle was giving the mystery donor his first dose.
Still at the gym, Brody took a break from pumping iron to text with Gigi, who was sorry for everything she's putting him through. He told her not to worry about it and that all that matters is Shane's recovery. When she returned to Shane's hospital room, Rex looked slightly embarrassed for going off on her and Brody.
Wednesday
Nora happily greeted her daughter Rachel, who said — at Hunk's urging — she left Chicago just to pay her mom a visit. Nora confided in Rachel that she blames Cole for Matthew's condition as a way to avoid blaming herself, adding that Cole was living under her roof when he got hooked on pills. She then explained that she didn't lock Cole in jail because she was reminded of Rachel's troubled past and progress. She hopes that sending him to rehab will help him. Rachel noted that rehab is not
necessarily a ticket to sobriety. Hank entered and both he and Rachel
offered to stick by Nora's side for as long as she needs. "We're still
family," Rachel observed.
A wasted Cole paid Todd an unexpected visit. Todd wondered why Cole isn't in
rehab. Cole explained that Starr's teacher is trying to seduce her... Todd
questioned Cole's accusation, but Cole swore he's telling the truth and
added that he saw them together and Starr was getting dressed. He demanded
Todd do something about the situation. After roughing up Cole to make sure
he's not lying, Todd departed in a fit of rage. On his way out, Cole ran
into a guy he didn't recognize. It's Zach! He claimed to be an old friend of
Marty's. When Cole found out Zach raped Marty, Cole attacked him.
Schuyler squirmed as he read a letter from Starr, saying she's not a child
and knows that he's attracted to her and begged him to wait for her until
after she graduates from high school so they can finally be together.
Meanwhile, Starr recounted to Langston how she tried to seduce the teacher,
blamed Cole for ruining it and asked her pal for advice. Langston urged
Starr to think things through and pointed out that waiting for Mr. J means
she'll never be able to work things out with Cole. Later, Starr freaked when
she read a letter from Llanview High saying they are going to contact her
father about the situation with Schuylar's.
Little Jack, acting out after John and Blair's nups, saw a photo of Dorian
and Ray kissing on Dorian's cell phone. He then threatened to send the photo
to David unless Dorian helped him get rid of John so he can go live with
Todd. Dorian implored the kid not to do it; Ray scared him with stories
about throwing his enemies in an incinerator. Jack handed over the phone,
then spat, "I don't want to end up in the incinerator but John McBain will
never be my father!" Ray forced the kid to apologize. Later, Langston asked
Dorian to use her phone and spied the photo.
In the hospital, Marty paid Blair a visit. The women traded barbs. Marty
promised that John wouldn't come running after her ever again. "You bet your
ass he won't!" Marty quipped and flashed her wedding ring. Marty played nice
and congratulated Blair, who said it means more than just keeping custody of
her children. At Marty's request, Blair recalled her attack and questioned
why Marty's so interested. Meanwhile, John staged a break-in at Zach Rosen's
place, scattered some belongings around (including newspaper clippings about
Blair's attack) and called the cops. When Talia and Fish answered the call
to investigate, they were stunned to see John at Rosen's place. They quickly
brushed off his break-in and continued to investigate any links to the
murders. John made sure Talia saw the newspaper clippings.
Schuyler sat down to pen a letter back to Starr, but couldn't find the right
words so he crumpled it up. When he turned around, he saw Todd standing in
his doorway. Much to Schuyler's horrow, Todd picked up the crumpled letter and started to read it.
John ran into Marty and told her that he was at Zach’s place. He explained that he saw clippings about Blair’s attack and surmised that Zach is obsessed Blair, Todd and anyone associated with them. He warned her to be careful, adding that Zach’s up to something and it's only a matter of time before he comes after her.
Back at Todd's place, Zach retaliated against Cole, struck him, and knocked
him out cold. Starr arrived looking for Todd and was terrified when she saw
Cole passed out.... and Zach!
Dorian thanked Ray for everything and joked that their smooch was just a
"mercy kiss" to make her feel better because David's not coming home. Ray
noted that Dorian deserves someone who will be there for her during this
troubling time, citing Blair's attack....
Thursday
Langston saw the photo of Dorian kissing Ray that Jack had snapped with Dorian's cell phone and asked what is going on between Dorian and her uncle. She didn't quite understand how Dorian could go from wanting him dead to kissing him. Dorian argued that she's a married woman and would never dream of taking up with another man. Langston pointed out that said man is now advertising hemorrhoid cream. Dorian explained that the kiss just "happened" then wondered what might happen if she had sent that photo to David. Langston suggested that David would either rush home to fix things with Dorian or call it a day. "I just want you to be happy," Langston told her. "Like I am with Markko." Alone, Dorian pondered deleting the photo, then sent it to David. Afterward, she screamed, "What have I done?" and regained her composure as Ray wandered in.
Téa was furious with Todd and arrived at Llanfair seeking Viki's calming influence. "What's Todd done now?" Viki asked. Téa explained that Todd offered to spend a night with her if she helped him regain custody of his kids. Viki wondered if perhaps Téa would take him up on it under different circumstances. Téa admitted that when she and Todd were together, she felt so alive and misses that feeling. She fully acknowledged that men who show the slightest bit of interest in her seem to repulse her and that it's Todd who really floats her boat. Viki understood the dilemma in her own way, having supported him when he'd done some terrible things. Viki explained that she's often drawn to him because she knows what he went through as a child.
Schuyler looked scared when Todd shut the door and called him a pervert. Todd saw that Schuyler was writing something addressed to Starr and accused him of writing her love letters. In turn, Schuyler accused Todd of killing his mother. Todd didn't have to push too hard to get Schuyler worked up. When Schuyler suggested that Todd only has himself to blame for Starr's problems with men, Todd threw Schuyler up against the door and told him Schuyler doesn't want there to be a "next time."
Starr arrived at her dad's house to find the door wide open and no sign of her dad. She walked right past an unconscious Cole lying behind the couch and ran into Zach Rosen, who claimed to be Todd's friend. He lied that his name was Carl and that Todd would be back shortly. "Carl" stepped over Cole to retrieve the mail that Starr was asking for. She found the letter from the school and asked Carl not to reveal that she took it, explaining that her father won't understand because he doesn't see her as a woman. He looked her up and down and said he can clearly see that she's not a little girl. As he tried to give Starr some advice, Cole began to stir. He listened to what Zach was saying to Starr and rose from behind the couch, announcing that Carl is really Zach, one of Marty's rapists.
When Ray noticed Markko acting weird at the Buenos Dias, he caught on that something's going on between Lola and Markko. In Spanish, Lola recited the old adage, "Sometimes the heart wants what it wants," just as Dorian was saying the same in French to Langston, and Viki uttered the clich to Téa. Ray advised Lola to make a clean break with Markko. Once her dad was gone, Lola waltzed into the kitchen to confront Markko. He turned around and told her she has to stop coming after him. She explained that she promised her father she'd give it up, but she lied. She then stepped forward and got as close as she could to Markko, just as Langston walked into the caf.
Marty questioned John about his "arranged marriage." He recognized that it's not a conventional marriage, but that he had to do it for the kids and has no regrets. He said he might have only one regret, then looked at her but didn't say what he was thinking. He changed the subject by going to visit Blair.
When Zach saw that Cole was conscious, he held a gun on the teens before they could escape. Starr asked Zach what he wants, and Zach explained that Todd left him to rot in jail while he got pardoned and now he wants payback. Cole managed to phone John, who picked up and overheard Cole speaking to Zach. The ex-con saw the phone and came running over. He grabbed it out of Cole's hand and told John to stay away or he's dead. John and Marty sprang to action when they recognized that Cole is in trouble.
Friday
Ray promised Dorian that he wouldn't kiss her again since it had caused her so much strife. "No woman should be taken from her husband," he remarked, obviously referring to himself and his dead wife. Their conversation promptly ended when Dorian received a call from David. She reluctantly answered and told a rather unbelievable story about getting a kiss on the cheek from Ray that looked like more when she turned her head. She brought up the fact that she's still bothered by their long-distance marriage, then offered to move to L.A. for him! "There's nothing keeping me in Llanview," she claimed.
In the kitchen at the diner, Markko finally came clean with Langston that Lola has been hitting on him, while Lola lied that she hated "sneaking around" with Markko. Langston told Lola to get lost so that she could speak with Markko alone. "There's only one girl for me," Markko vowed. She hugged Markko, to his great relief. Lola ran home and told Ray what happened, claiming that Langston called her a slut. Ray assured his daughter that Langston doesn't hate her and gave her a comforting hug. Meanwhile, Markko explained to Langston that he never told her about Lola because she claimed to feel so bad about it and he wanted Langston to get along with her long-lost cousin. Langston seemed willing to forgive the misunderstanding, but Markko warned her that Lola may be more of a schemer than they realize. Langston wondered what they should do.
Rex ran into Jessica at Llanfair and she asked if he was doing okay, all things considered. Rex revealed that he was sure Stacy drugged him but the hospital said otherwise. Jessica listened to Rex's tale of woe and said she knows what it's like to think you have something with someone and then find out that you don't. Rex asked if she and Brody had something going on before he slept with Gigi. Jessica made it sound like it was nothing.
At the diner, Gigi told Brody that Stacy's donor plans had really turned things around for Shane. Brody wondered why Stacy was being so manipulative, and Gigi guessed that something happened to her after Gigi left home; she just doesn't know what. Gigi thanked Brody for helping him through all of this, and felt bad when he heard that Jessica was there that day they "slept together" and told him how she feels. Gigi wanted to fix things for Brody and tell Jessica the truth, but Brody thought the risk was too great, considering the transplant hadn't yet taken place.
Stacy saw the blood on Schuyler's chin and asked what happened. Schuyler caught her up on the history between him, Starr and their parents. She read the letter and wondered what Schuyler was referring to when he said he was sorry about what happened between them. He told her about coming out of the shower in his towel and finding Starr there. Stacy wondered why Schuyler turned down her offer to have sex. "Because I'm not like you," he stated, then went to sulk by the window. Stacy followed him and said she was just kidding. Just as Schuyler was marveling at what a miracle it is that Stacy's a bone-marrow match for Shane, she felt ill and ran to the bathroom. Schuyler sat with her afterward and said it reminded him of when Stacy stayed by his side that time a drug dealer left him with the shakes. She thanked him for watching out for her and never letting her do drugs with him. "That's because I loved you," he whispered, then leaned in to kiss her.
Zach told Cole and Starr that if John calls the cops, the teens are dead. Starr asked Zach why he doesn't just run off while they distract the cops, but Zach said he was there for payback and wasn't going anywhere until he got it. He explained that he was studying pre-med in college when Todd ruined his life.
Todd, John and Marty showed up outside Todd's house and strategized about how to save the kids. John called Zach and begged him, man to man, to let his hostages go. Todd basically ruined any chance of negotiation by calling Zach a "little bastard" and threatening to kill him. They crept around to the front and saw that the door was slightly ajar. Marty ran in to find Cole duct-taped to a chair. He revealed that Zach went upstairs with Starr to the spare bedroom. "My old room," Marty shuddered. John and Todd went upstairs and John tried to reason with Zach, who was restraining a very frightened Starr. Todd managed to talk his way into the room, and shut the door at Zach's request. He approached the gunman and asked Zach to let Starr go so they can sort things out. "We can't do this without her. We're having a nostalgic moment here," Zach said, referring to when they raped Marty. "We all know what happens next."
Gigi ran to Llanfair and interrupted a daydreaming Jessica. At the same time, Brody was fantasizing about Jess at the cafe. When Gigi announced that nothing happened between her and Brody, she didn't realize that Rex was standing in the stairwell nearby.
