Starr and Deanna arrived at James' door. Deanna said she felt out of place staying at La Boulaie and wanted to return to the Ford apartment until she got money to head home. James offered to loan some cash to Deanna, but Deanna wasn't ready to go home to Dayton.
A suspicious Blair interrupted Tomas and Claude's conversation. Claude asked Blair if she thought Tomas was involved in Todd's shooting.
Rama wanted to talk to Cristian about the Access Llanview story about them. Rama assured him she had nothing to do with it and they flirted a bit. Rama said she wasn't pregnant but admitted lying to Vimal about it to give him hope for the future.
Shane was furious with Rex for having told Blair and Jack about his suicide attempt. Brody approached Rex with news that Jack had filed a complaint against him. Shane told Brody about the bullying by Jack. Rex signed a statement for Brody denying his involvement.
Dr. Bahari told John that Marty had discussed him, Natalie and "your baby" in their recent session. John asked for details. She assured him that Marty wouldn't hurt anyone physically but refused to theorize what Marty might have done. She did suggest John follow his instincts about Marty. "Someday you'll find out what you need to know," she said as he stormed out of her office.
Gigi took the tape of Dr. Bahari's session with Shane and promised Shane she wouldn't try to learn what he said in his therapy sessions.
Natalie grabbed Marty's copy of Liam's paternity test and ripped it into pieces. Marty laughed victoriously. John asked Marty out for dinner.

A stunned Echo met Niki and the two began to argue. Niki played the tape of Echo's confession. "Gotcha!" Niki said with glee as the two began to tussle over the tape recorder. Echo threatened Niki with a lamp but put it down when Charlie knocked at the door. Echo let Charlie in and then quickly pushed Niki out, without getting the recorder back. Echo lied and said that she had just had a big fight with Viki. "Charlie, am I going to lose you?" Echo wept. He assured her that would never happen.
Starr brought Blair up to date on the Deanna-James situation. Starr smiled when she told her mom that Deanna was leaving town. Blair encouraged to talk to James and "get the answers you are asking for." Starr didn't want to appear clingy so she made plans to visit her dad in the hospital instead.
Deanna insisted to James that Eddie Ford was behind their breakup of a year ago. James remembered that Eddie referred to their relationship as "Jungle Fever." He asked Deanna what Eddie did to her. In flashbacks, Eddie hinted that he knew something about her mother, the woman who gave her up when she was a baby. She explained that Eddie would only give her information about her mom if she gave up James. Deanna broke up with James, but the lawyer demanded $20,000 and she learned Eddie had tricked her. James said he was sorry for what Eddie had done to her. "I never stopped loving you," Deanna told a confused James.
Cutter watched a tender moment between Aubrey and Joey outside of Clint's room. Cutter told Aubrey that Kelly knows they are not brother and sister, adding that Kelly promised not to spill the beans. Cutter suggested they murder Clint; Aubrey didn't go for that idea.
In the courtroom, Tess and Ford prepped for the custody hearing and she told him about her plan with Niki. Joey and Natalie walked into the courtroom looking for Viki and demanded that Tess confirm that Niki was back.

Viki woke up in what appeared to be a warehouse. (It was all in her head.) She asked Jean to be let out so she could get custody of the baby, but Jean refused. Viki didn't understand how Niki managed to escape but Jean rattled off all of Viki's recent stresses and explained that letting Niki out was Victoria's way of dealing with things.
Niki changed into some of Viki's clothes in the courthouse bathroom and told her reflection that she would head to Vegas once she helped Tess get Ryder. Tess refused to confirm that Niki was back. Joey and Natalie were sure that Tess was using Niki to get custody of the baby. "Viki" arrived in time to break up a fight between Joey and Ford. "Viki" reminded them she was completely integrated. Joey and Natalie did their best to get Viki to come back out. "Viki" urged them to go see their father in the hospital. Joey and Natalie were upset that their mother had no legal representation.
The judge was surprised Charlie wasn't in court to support his wife. "Viki" explained that Charlie was a lousy cheater, and she no longer wanted custody of baby Ryder. Joey and Natalie were now certain that Niki was in the room, so Joey protested and tried to explain that Viki wasn't there, it was an alter. "Viki" tried to keep it together, but eventually introduced herself as Niki Smith.
Niki began struggling and Jean emerged. Meanwhile, Niki and Viki faced off in Viki's mind. The attorney didn't know who was in the room. Joey explained that this was another one of Viki's alters. Jean stated that she would certainly be able to take care of a child, but wasn't sure she would be providing the love the judge asked for. After Jean collapsed into Joey's arms, Natalie and Joey begged Viki to wake up. Niki and Jean began arguing about who sent Viki over the edge.
Viki told Jean and Niki that she has survived and "I will walk through hellfire if my children need me." As As Viki lay on the floor of the courtroom, she vowed to return to them. "I have only my one life and I intend to keep living it now," she said, and her eyes opened. Viki was back.

Aubrey walked into Clint's hospital room as Cutter was about to smother the patient. Cutter had to remind Aubrey that they "were on a job" and suggested they cut their losses and run away.
Viki was horrified to learn that Niki had been out. Joey and Natalie assured her that Niki hadn't done too much damage. The judge returned to the courtroom and did not award custody to Viki or Ford and Tess. Instead, the child would be put in the care of the Commonwealth. Aubrey jumped up and offered to take the baby with Joey. Tess hinted that she knew something about the young Buchanans' marriage but backed down. The judge granted custody to Aubrey and Joey, which delighted Natalie and Viki.
Marty prepared a dinner for herself and John. She was surprised to find Dr. Buhari at her door blaming her for the missing tape of her session. Marty denied taking it and was incensed at the thought that someone else might listen to it. Dr. Buhari accused Marty of manipulating the system and then begged her to tell John that he was Liam's father. Marty showed the good doctor the door.
John thought there was a burglar in his apartment but it was just Kelly, who wanted to surprise him with dinner. He had to disappoint her with the news that he was having dinner with Marty. They started to kiss but Kelly told him he needed to be a cop and do his spying on Marty. Before she left, Kelly showed John what she had found under Todd's desk.
Rex told Gigi that he had hired thugs to beat up Jack. Gigi was horrified but understood, and showed him the tape she had stolen from the doctor's office. Rex grabbed his tape recorder so they could listen.
The hospital staff credited Dorian with saving Clint's life, but in reality she'd made a deal with Clint before making that call. Dorian caught the Wentworths in Clint's room and proceeded to label them "cheap con artists." Clint woke up and reminded her that she left him on the floor to die. "You tried to murder me, Dorian," he accused. Cutter listened in on Dorian and Clint's conversation and had just what he needed to blackmail Dorian, which he promptly did: Dorian would have to keep quiet about Cutter and Aubrey being con artists, or Cutter would blab about Dorian nearly killing Clint.

Téa prayed to St. Jude for Todd to wake up. Dani told Téa about the syringe that she and Nate had found in Todd's room and Nate's suspicions that Tomas was behind that. Dani joined Nate in the waiting room while Téa talked to a comatose Todd. Téa wept and Todd woke up.
Tomas wondered if Blair still thought he shot Todd, which he again denied. Tomas hinted that he and Blair could be good together and wondered who Blair was before she met Todd. "A gold digger," she admitted, adding that she had spent her childhood in foster homes.
Deanna hoped things were different with James now that he knew that Eddie forced her to dump him. James wondered why Deanna couldn't have just told him the truth when it happened. Deanna begged for forgiveness and the two hugged...just as Starr entered the apartment. "This is not what it looks like," James insisted. Teary-eyed Deanna explained why she really broke up with James. Starr was looking over the bus schedule when Deanna announced she decided to stay in Llanview, much to Starr's dismay.
Gigi and Rex had just started listening to the tape of Shane's session when Natalie showed up to ask them them to babysit Liam. Rex told Natalie that Gigi had taken the tape of Shane's session. Natalie offered to screen the tape for them and tell them if Shane said anything about hurting himself.
John showed up at Marty's door to find Dr. Buhari about to leave. "What don't you want Dr. Buhari to tell me?" he asked. Marty accused the doctor of sloppy office management because the tape of her session was missing. Outside Marty's house, Dr. Buhari vowed that John would someday find out that Liam is his son. John asked Marty to clarify why she thinks she broke up John and Natalie. Marty said it was time to tell him something but kissed him first.
