Just a few things I have noticed.
Lulu:
Is it my imagination or is she looking really good? New hairstyles, good makeup, and do I smell a hint of maturity??
Olivia:
Wow. Is all I can say. However, there are times that I think I am looking at a Brenda (Vanessa Marcil) clone. Does anyone else see that?
Mchael:
Like the new actor, not liking teh storyilne. Although it was interesting that he evenmentioned to Jason that he doesn't know why he is so angry. We will see. But boy, get your head outta your nether regions and love your momma.
Carly:
Best I have seen her yet. Makes me like the character (and Laura Wright) even more. Never have I seen Carly portrayed any better.
Sonny:
So very sick of the poor me, I am so guilty. And yeah, it was partly your fault, but don't forget that Kate is the one who talked you into bringing Mikey to the warehouse anyway! How is she gettng off on this??
Kate/Olivia Exchange:
Uhm, didn't work for me, was so fake wasn't even funny, and did I miss it, or how did Kate know there was anything going on between Olivia and Johnny??
Nik/Rebecca:
Ok, I love Nicholas, most of the time. I like Rebecca. Don't like them together. Seems like a rerun.
Holly:
BORING. Period.
Helena:
Here and gone. Thought I missed it. Would like to see more.
Robin and Patrick:
Kind of tired of them. Mostly Robin for me though. However, I have never been a fan of the character. Always annoyed the heck outta me. Whiny whiny whiny.
Just my thoughts over recent episodes. Care to share your thoughts??
I agree with everything you said. As for Liv looking like Brenda, maybe now we see how he got interested in Brenda in the first place. Couldn't get Liv out of his head, saw Brenda & wham! He had to have her.I thought the same thing about Kate. I'm surprised Olivia didn't ask her how she knew. Just because they were checking each other out doesn't mean they slept together. I guess being without Sonny this long, Kate must be so desperate, she's now living vicariously through her more interesting cousin I noticed & have been loving Lulu's newfound maturity. I hope some of it rubs off on her brother sometime soon. He needs to stop whining about how awful his father is. He's not Ward Cleaver. Get over it!As much as we've all nitpicked over the Ethan paternity story & about how much we dislike the character, I can't help feeling sorry for him. His mother selling the answer to such a vital piece of his life is disgusting. This is pretty low, even for her & no amount of guilty tears changes that. Wherever she goes this time, I hope she stays there. But the biggest beef I have is that with all this nonsense going on, why didn't Lulu & Ethan get a new DNA test & ask for the test to be run under some fake IDs? I'm sure Epiphany would do it just because Tracy irritates her anyway.

I made this same exact comment literally within days after Olivia came to town for Kate and Sonny's wedding, but was shot down by paul I believe. But thats cool. Interesting theory though on the whole reason Sonny went after Brenda like he did...it was like Olivia all over again I bet. JMO

Never even thought about the Liv/Brenda connection. Ummm...very, very interesting and soo true.
Lulu - yep, looking better. Could tone down the lipstick a notch or two. Olivia - Wow is right. Got her some Johnny boy and the next thing you know: an extreme makeover! You go girl Michael - Not sure how I feel about the new actor. As for the character, I have been fast forwarding. Can't take his temper tantrums.Carly- Totally love her. That's my girl. Laura Wright is the bomb.Sonny - Totally have gotten on nerves. The only time I don't ff pass him is when they do a shot of his dimples.Kate/Olivia exchange - I thought it was cute. I liked seeing Kate portraying the nit picking cousin. I figure the way she knew is Olivia's body language maybe..jmo. Since they grew up together she's probably seen the "just got laid" Olivia look. jmoNik/Rebecca: Another ff storyline except when Nik has his shirt off. Can't stand Rebecca.Holly: Not even worth commenting on.Helena- Needs to come back and slash a few throats: Holly's, Rebecca's, and Ethan's. Robin/Patrick - Never was a big Robin fan, however, loved yesterday's episode with her FINALLY bonding with her baby. Beautiful. Any other time, ff.
Lulu - I want to give her tissue to blot her lipsCarly - Lover her as alwaysSonny - please send him to his island for a long visit & take his wife with himOlivia - I like herJohnny - I like himNic & Rebecca - Like both, but not together - Prefered her with Lucky - I miss Lucky!!Holly - BS Luke - I very sad to say this but BSMichael - If he was gonna stay a brat then they should have kept him young (Cash)GH - dissapointed
I miss Lucky, too. Agree or disagree with the decision to rewrite history (most disagree), the fact is they did it. What I want is for Lucky to get back to who he used to be & stop being a HYPOCRITE!! I'm disappointed that Liz hasn't pointed it out to him. His whining about Luke's infidelity is nauseating & completely out of character. The writers are destroying this once fun, interesting character & reducing him to a whiny, sniveling spoiled brat with the emotional maturity of Michael. He survived learning his father raped his mother & something like this is too much for him to handle? Then, he'd better turn in his badge, go home, get into bed & pull the covers over his head & stay there until he grows up!His sister, the supposedly emotionally frail one, has taken this news with maturity & grace. She's also got the sense to understand what is going on with Luke & Ethan. But, of course, she hasn't let jealousy cloud her judgement of him or her father.
Listen Carfully........hear that sound???There's a barrel out there somewhere, and GH is scraping the bottom of it! THAT is how uninspired the storytelling is right now.
You said it! :
Maybe they should rename the show "Sonny's World" or something because it's not recognizable as GH. Some of the characters we've known for years are acting like they're guesting on a show with another role. Like I said unrecognizable. Change is hard but I can deal with it but why do they have to change the whole damn show?
Mr. Benard is a good actor, but this show is filled with good actors. There's no excuse for him being the center of it, except for a writers preference of that character &/or actor. Even in the mob storyline, there are other fine actors that always take a backseat to him. There's no reason why Jason can't be front burner once in a while. Even when he took over the organization, the story was still about Sonny. Ric also earned the right to front burner status too, but he was always supporting & there was no character growth. It was one of the reasons they lost the very talented Ted King. It isn't fair to the other actors & the fans who have stuck by this show through some of the most head-scratching, mind numbing storylines & some really repulsive ones, as well. We all deserve better.
Amen.
Ditto AMEN
Finally two new storylines. The mayor's murder mystery and Johnny's being warned away from Claudia by Jason. The murder mystery should provide for layers of stories since so many people are involved. We know that now Johnny will tell Claudia that Jason is on her trail, she will order another hit, but who will end up being the victim this time??While Maxie was a bit over the top yesterday, we need some break as she gets involved in the Kate mystery and even the tape recording.
Also Luke over hearing Helena and being hit over the head, he's probably going to disappear for a while and Tracy will think he went after Holly. Also Nicholas following Rebecca around and watching her. I think he's more suspicious than ever.
Quote:Finally two new storylines. The mayor's murder mystery and Johnny's being warned away from Claudia by Jason. The murder mystery should provide for layers of stories since so many people are involved.Neither story will get the full attention they deserve though. If either of those storylines are on more then once a week I'll fall out of my chair.
They might because they're bringing on a new character. Mayor Floyd's wife is supposed to be on soon. I know it's only recurring, but since Martha Byrne is a fantastic actress, there's always hope they'll coax her into staying. Of course, she's not a teenager so who knows? As for Nik being suspicious of Rebecca, I think he wants to believe her, but because this does involve a lot of people Emily loved dearly, he feels a responsibility to protect them & until he knows for sure, I think he will keep his eye on her. I also think he'll be the first one to realize what really happened to Luke. I also think Luke deliberately let Helena catch him. He knows her well enough to expect she'd have at least one goon with her. I think he wants to find out what she's up to & how she plans on hurting Nikolas this time so he can stop her before her plan takes shape. On a side note, I was happy to see Lucky acting more maturely when he was speaking to Ethan. It was almost like the old Lucky had returned. Now, if only he'd calm down when it comes to his dad. Then, I'd know he was really back.
I must have missed something. When Ethan asked Lucky what his father did to him to make him so mad, Lucky answered that he should ask Luke and he might tell him. What did he do that made Luckyy so mad? Was it just a columation of things? (I know I really screwed that word up).I"m also wondering what reason they have for bringing on the mayor's wife. I mean her husband cheated, mistress in bad shape. Being she's not a regular I don't see where this is going as far as the rest of the cast.
Lucky was referring to Luke raping Laura when he told Ethan to ask Luke. He's assuming Holly didn't tell Ethan any of that. I don't buy that as Lucky's reason for being angry with Luke only because Lucky found out about that when he was a teenager & it's only in the last several months that Lucky's been mad at Luke. My theory is he's mad at Luke for not dumping Tracy the minute Laura woke up. I think that's the real reason. He always uses protecting Lulu's fantasy of Luke & Laura's love story as his excuse, but I think he's the one who has the idealized picture of them from when he was a child & I think by staying with Tracy, Luke shattered that picture in Lucky's mind. But, of course, he doesn't know that his mother flew off to France with Scott!I think bringing on Andrea Floyd was more about bringing on the very talented Martha Byrne. I think she'll be cutting ties with her husband & mixing it up with the men of Port Charles soon. Hopefully NOT Sonny. At least not romantically. I say Jason could use a change of pace. If it's not Olivia, how about her? Unless she, too will be playing cougar.
Ok that makes sense, I don't think his reasons are valid though, I think he looks for reasons to be disappointed in Luke and it doesn't matter what Luke does it won't help. What's that saying about living in glass houses and throwing stones. He wants everyone to remember Lukes mistakes but forget his, as he obviously has.The mayor's wife.. I can't picture the actess you're talking about. I'm sure I've seen her in stuff but just don't recognize them as her. How old is she?
She's around Steve Burton's age. She's been in Hallmark movies & had cameos & bit parts in prime time, but she's famous for playing Lily Walsh & her twin, Rose, on "ATWT." She's a terrific actress & can go toe to toe with the best of them. I'm actually looking forward to her coming on. I just hope "GH" doesn't drop the ball with her like they did with Ric Hearst, someone else that's an alumnus of the CBS soaps.
For some reason I was thinking she was older. Maybe it could work with Jason, he does need someone and the choices are pretty limited.Being the way that Mayor is, can you imagine... the mayor's ex-wife involved with a mob enforcer. Could be pretty good.
I think it would be. I also just thought of something. In one of the other threads, there was a preview saying Spinelli gets family in town. I wonder if it could be her. She has the last name of her husband, but Andrea Spinelli sounds plausible too. Maybe an older sister of his. He never talks about his family. I only knew about his "Granny." That would bring in a new dimention to it. Martha Byrne can also do comedy so that works with the Spinelli angle. & it would tie her to Jason in a meaningful way. I do not want to see him back together with Sam. I think they both need someone new who's not carrying all that baggage.
Jason and Sam really don't seem to have any sparks now. I think they are really good friends, they know each other so well, and I hope it stays this way.Spinelli's relative? I hadn't read about that but .. that could really open a lot of doors. Maybe if she is a relative she could take Maxie by the shoulders and give her a good shake and tell her to wake up or she will lose Spinelli.
I agree about Sam & Jason. I think they're great as friends. Too much bad history for them to get back together. I think a good match for Sam might be this Dominic/Dante character. Someone who's a little bit bad (if he's really Dante, hopefully mostly good). And, as I said, Jason needs someone new. And, you're right about the relative. I think she should do exactly that. Wake that little twit up before she loses him. She can be so smart sometimes & completely clueless other times. I think if she knew why Johnny was protecting Claudia & what they're responsible for, that it would kill whatever it is she feels for Johnny immediately.
It would if she was thinking with her head, but I'm afraid when it comes to Johnny she's thinking with her nether regions. I wonder how Olivia reacts to Dante..is she over protective, treat him like a kid etc.You know there's also Lulu, she needs a man, maybe Dante. I guess we'll have to wait and see what type of character he is.Hey I wanted to tell you.. I read in the TV Guide today that they didn't have time to write a proper send off for Ric so we'll see him get into the elevator and say "I'll be back" he is supposed to be on at least through early July. He is supposed to start his new role in Aug.
I like the idea of Ric just getting on the elevator saying "I'll be back," because it's not final. We don't watch him go splat like Trevor. He's not driving off a bridge like Brenda. He can come back when Claudia has settled into a comfortable existance (presuming Sonny & Jason haven't whacked her), with or without Sonny, sneak up & say, "I'm back," in sing-song. She'd jump 10 feet off the ground. When/if he comes back, I want him to come back with muscle behind him. Lorenzo maybe. Despite the fact that they were at odds when Lorenzo "died," I think they could work out their differences for something mutually beneficial.Oh, this isn't really the place for this, but I thought of another wild plot possibility that would give them a way to bring Lorenzo back. Have icky, sicky Claudia be the beloved Sophie that Lorenzo missed so much & compared Carly to & Johnny be his son. That would up the hate dynamic between Sonny & Johnny tenfold & reverberate throughout the canvas. But, it would also be fun & Lorenzo, not Sonny, would be the star of that storyline. So, it'll never happen.
That'll be good. She needs to be kept on her toes. As far as the Lorenzo story I don't know it. I must not have been waqtching then.
It was when he first came to town & he was making friends with Carly. He told her about the only woman he ever loved, by the name of Sophie. He was vague on what happened to her but the implication was she died. I've often thought it was Alexis for a couple of reasons. First, she knew far too many things about Lorenzo that only someone close to him would know. Second, her past, including when Sam was conceived, is still very mysterious. He's the also the one guy in town, practically that Sam didn't sleep with & he's the right age to have been her father. As for why he didn't recognize Alexis, the answer is simple. The incident which led Lorenzo to think Sophie died, caused Alexis to have facial injuries which required plastic surgery. It would be just like Alexis to lie to the boy about who she really was. She's always been ashamed of being a Cassadine. The other reason is something that's more about the actors than the characters. The chemistry between Ted King & Nancy Lee Grahn has always been volcanic. I think the writers blew it there, too. They really should have capitalized on that. They could've done something like "The War of the Roses." THAT would have been something to see!
Wow that's quite a story. Is Lorenzo the one that Skye Chandler was married to and had baby Lila, and it was thought but couldn't be proved that she let her husbands killer into the house?
The stuff about Alexis being Sophie is just wishful thinking on my part. I miss Ted King & constantly imagine ways they could bring him back. He is a perfect leading man. (Sigh!) None of them, with the exception of Steve Burton & Jason Thompson, have the right blend of hard & soft, tough & vulnerable that makes the ideal leading man.
Yes. She found out about Lorenzo faking amnesia to manipulate her into acting as a go-between with Mr. Craig (aka Jerry Jax). She was furious. The final nail in his proverbial coffin was when the Qs turned their backs on her for helping Lorenzo. That's when she decided to help Jason & let him into the house. She sat in the nursery singing to Lila & all the audience heard was the thump of Lorenzo's supposedly lifeless body hitting the floor.
Ok I remember that. They were never able to prove anything though.
Exactly. That's the way it should be. Then totally rewriting history isn't needed if they want to bring a character back. Liked Lorenzo and would like to see him return. He'd give Olivia a run for her money.
Did anyone notice the headline on Soap Opera Weekly at the top of this website. "Shocking Death Rocks General Hospital"How can the mayor's murdered mistress be a shocking death? There's probably no one in the town that even knows her. We have yet to even see what she looked like. For fans that don't read these forums, their first thought would be, "now what old and loved character is being killed off." After they find out who the murder victim is their next thought is, "Huh, why is this shocking?" It's a cheap way to pump up interest in the soap, since the story doesn't deliver. If you don't watch it daily, you have no idea who the mayor or his wife or his mistress are and probably could care less. The whole story won't get interesting until this goes to trial.
Matt will be blamed for it. I guess he will finally get a story.
I think it has gotten to the point that thwriters hasve even gotten lost in the webs they have spun. I mean it is like the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing! I am so frustrated and saddened by the demise of this show. I have been watching since I was fifteen (on and off for the last several years), but, good grief, at least back in the mid 90's when I started watching you could invest in a character and basically see them through to the end, lately I am afraid to like anyone for fear they might be killed!I know in this economy the actors are kind of tied, but couldn't they go on strike until better writing is given to honor the characters in which they portray??

It would be nice if the actors were able to do something, but the way it is now...everyone is replaceable.
It's the writers who should be replaced if this is all they've got. It's pathetic & depressing. Early in the afternoon, I watched the televised funeral of a state trooper who died in the line of duty. I was kind of hoping the show would cheer me up a little. No such luck. What did I see? A flashback to Brittney's early days with Kristina's uniform complete with hiked up skirt, a brain damaged teen about to smoke pot, a talented doctor being sued for malpractice before the surgery even started (Mayor Floyd threatened that the family would sue before the doctors had finished their assessment of her condition), & 2 unlicensed teenagers out for a joyride in the DAs car, with the one driving apparently having the common sense of a gnat (Sonny's genes showing there!). You could probably guess, I didn't find much to uplift my spirits.
Damn I sure missed a lot. I wish they would run reruns, like late at night. Oh well. did any of those scenerios get resolved?
Well, Michael didn't get to do anything with the pot because his mom came in before he & Kristina could sneak off to a corner of the hospital to smoke it. Later, after Michael was released, Kristina went back for the pot & Jason busted her & gave her the Mr. Freeze glare. But, so far he hasn't said anything to her parents. Then, the 2 teenagers went out for a drive (both not old enough to drive). That was the end of the show. Kristina appears to have very little common sense & between that & Michael's brain damage, poor Jason's going to be so busy cleaning up their messes this summer, he won't have time to scare Claudia to death.
So, Jason is no longer the mob enforcer, he is now the mob babysitter.
Yeah. That's what he's been reduced to. Chasing after bratty, overpriveledged teens. Someone has to look after them. Sonny's too busy acting in the sick mating ritual he & Claudia have going on to bother with the kids, Carly sees a 12 year old when she looks at Michael so she's oblivious, Jax is too busy jumping on any slightly sharp word Michael says to be of any use & I'm surprised Alexis even recognizes Kristina when she sees her, considering she's never actually with Kristina, even when they're in the same room together. So, Jason's their only option if any of them want the kids to make it to their 18th birthdays in one piece.
The whole teenage storyline for the summer looks like a lot of fast forward time. They are into things that are illegal & dangerous (smoking pot, driving without a license and drinking). This isn't for Jason to clean up. They do have parents.Everyone is complaining about the aging of Michael, but I think that the aging of Kristina is worse. She's gone from 6 to 16 in a flash and she was truly a sweet little girl. Granted she's had a pretty traumatic life, what with seeing Sam shoot Diego and then seeing Deigo lurking around when they thought he was dead. But with Alexis keeping her away from Sonny as much as possible, I find her mob princess attitude hard to swallow. She is downright obnoxious to Jason and yet he keeps covering for her. Jason needs to refuse to be pulled into her 'adventures' and turn her over to her parents with some proof of what she's been up to.
Amen. Either deal with it now or wait until the real trouble begins.
Poor Jason is destined to parent everyone else's kids but his own. Alexis is by far, the worst. She looks down on Carly's parenting skills, but the truth is Carly knows more about what her son's doing than she knows about Kristina. She looks down on the mob stuff & does all she can to keep Kristina away from it, but there's no way any of those guys would let her within a city block of those clubs or near any drug dealers. That's if Alexis had just accepted that Sonny's life is part of Kristina's whether she likes it or not.My beefs with Sonny on this are A) He fights with Carly constantly about his parental rights, yet lets Alexis trample all over them? B) What happened to Sonny's "No drugs in my territory," stance? Even low level high school dealers were a no-no in his town. Now that he has teenagers of his own, you'd think that would be even more important to him.
You forget , "It's not their kids it has to be others'. Alexis is so snowed by Kristina's acedemic accomplishments that she thinks the girl walks on air and What does she need her Dad for he is dangerous and after all she has Alexis, a mom who is so involved in others lives that her own kids are ignored. I bet when it comes out that Michael and Kristina were driving around in her car it will all be blamed on Michael. He'll become a bad influence. Sonny is just too involved in the Sonnyverse to know that anything is happening.
Yes, & soon, he won't need Michael or Morgan because he'll have the perfect little mini-me in the child he & Claudia are having. She's convinced she's having a boy, so Sonny can start over & leave Michael for Carly & Jax to fix, but Sonny will still take all the credit.
He'll only take credit for the good. If they get in trouble with the law or anything it will be their mothers or friends fault, then he'll come unglued, his kid is being persecuted etc. Only in Sonny verse. Funny you'd think their be a lot more fireworks with Sonnyverse and Claudiaverse living under 1 roof.
Anything Michael does right now, Sonny will blame the head wound. If it continues, maybe they'll blame Patrick, but Sonny would never blame himself. As for Kristina, it is Alexis' fault for all the reasons we've said. Sonny gets a pass on that one. But, this spawn with Claudia....This one, I'm afraid of already. This one's the demon seed.
I wonder what Papa Anthony will think of his little grandson? He'll probably figure that Johnny is a lost cause and shift attention to the new heir.

Lulu- Yeah, I think it is your imagination. Carly- flashes of sympathy-but still dont like her.Sonny- so over him and have been for a long time.Michael- kid seems ok, but I want that bandage off of his head, we all know he is blonde, so quit trying to hide it.Rebecca- still just plain cannot stand her. She is waaay being shoved down our throats and I am sick, sick of it and her.
