NEW TWIST IN ABC/PROSPECT PARK LEGAL BATTLE

Amcoltl new

ABC fired back at Prospect Park in newly filed documents, says an article in The Hollywood Reporter, with a motion to strike Prospect Park's demand for an extension of its license agreement granting it the rights to ALL MY CHILDREN and ONE LIFE TO LIVE on the grounds that Prospect Park is "asking the Court to rewrite the contract to unsettle something that parties have already firmly determined — the term of the License." ABC also notes that while at the heart of PP's lawsuit are allegations that the use of OLTL characters on GH was in violation of the agreement between the two companies, PP did not object to GH's story for the characters during the time they appeared on the show, and indeed "gave ABC continuing use of the OLTL characters" in December 2012.
