Not because the fans re-wrote something in their heads.

Definitely, Frons and Pratt and JHC have helped kill this show. Their incompetence, misogynistic attitudes and out right stupidity is mind-boggling. Why they have jobs, I don't know.Look for AMC to devolve even further.

There is a problem with the link. I read portions of the interview on another site, and while I understand that stories change and writers need flexibility, I have a big problem when the story that changes is one which gets huge amounts of attention and publicity as The Story. If they're telling Another Story, then maybe The Story shouldn't be on the cover of magazines, and the focus of interviews, and the subject of commercials to induce us to watch. I especially have a problem with AMC choosing to tell Another Story if its subject is half of my favorite couple (Zach) kissing or becoming captivated by Reese (remember when "captivated" was one of the best verbs we ever heard Zach use to describe how he was around Kendall? ugh) while his wife is in a coma, and after she finally wakes up. No one can call that good storytelling, IMO.
