Oh well, I'm going to miss Bianca and I wish Eden the best. I think maybe she chose not to stay, because she could see the writing on the wall. Her character has been tarnished so bad, what's the point? But I'm choosing not to discuss this particular issue any further, because I'm so sick of all roads leading back to Kendall and Zach, plus I know eventually I'll say something to piss off some of the Zendall fans....please don't take offense, but I'm so done with the two of them.
No offense taken - everyone is entitled to enjoy whomever they want tp. And you can be as sick of Zendall as I am of some others who are still on the show.
But the way I see it, it's impossible to talk about Bianca without talking about Zach and Kendall since their storyline was so entertwined during her last visit to Pine Valley. No character survives in a vacuum. They became permanently connected due to Pratt's idiocy and there is nothing anyone can do to change it - unless they re-write the entire year, which sadly no one seems interested to do.
Trust me, I wish they would....but they have no plans on doing that. Like I stated in a previous post, I picked up a ABC Soaps In Depth the other day, and after reading it, I got the impression that TPTB are happy with the direction that the show is heading in. I read several previews and nothing is going to change...seems like they are going to continue on with the same dribble. The only good thing that I read is that Tad is going to break things off with the Fake Liza. Other than that, get ready for more Erica & Greenlee catfights....Ryan chasing after Greenlee....Annie going crazy again!!.....and everyone being obsessed with David. They have no intention of fixing the major problems...it's just full steam ahead with more garbage.
I have keep a open mind, hoping & waiting for htis show to get back on the right track. If its not then just turn the lights off. I can't keep turning this show on out of support, trying to help with the ratings. I'm just sick of it.
I have decided that what I am watching on AMC is not very good. It is an upgrade from 3 months ago, but not enough. Hopefully, things will get better. I am loving Brooke's return though, and seeing Dixie upsets me because I want to see more of her in earthly form interacting with JR, Tad, and Kathy. I am sick to death of Erica, Greenlee, David, Ryan, and Jake. They need to recast Amanda and make her frontburner again, and if Damon is going to be Hilary Wilson's son, does that mean that she will return and if so, will she still have the same chemistry with Tad if they use the same actress? I remember really enjoying their storyline along time ago, although there were times that I was rooting for Dottie to win Tad. On second thought, that may be who they need to bring back. They were on fire together. But if they are going to mine that history they need to do it not just to give Tad a story, but to also shore up the the Tyler/Wallingford family because Hillary is Phoebe's stepdaughter, Brooke's stepcousin, and Langley's daughter.
For Greenlee made things worse. I can not stand her.
I'm willing to give Greenlee another chance though. I liked her, when she first came on the show. I just think she's been involved in some horrible storylines....actually, the whole cast has been. But Erica, Jake, and Ryan especially have been grating on my nerves. They each need to be involved in their own individual stories. I think that's what the main problem is....They are all stand-alone characters...but they are being used as filler or background characters. Erica needs an age appropriate rival to go head to head with. Jake needs some family situation and dialogue to go along with Amanda....And Ryan needs a complete do-over. His character is way far gone, and they need to go back to the drawing board on him, since they don't have any plans to kill him off. This, alone, would be a great improvement for AMC.
And I pray to God that they develop an interesting storyline for Kendall, when she returns. I DO NOT want to see a bunch of catfighting and claw scratching between her and Greenlee.....been there, done that.
One of the reasons that i wished they had not killed off Natalie. She really was a great rival for Erica. I wonder how they would have interacted once she softened and became a heroine because after the Jeremy storyline, they weren't really rivals anymore. Ever since Leo died, Greenlee's stories have been bad in my opinion. Like I said, they should hook her back up with Scott if they are not going to bring back Leo and see what can happen. The possibilities are there with Adam leaving and it looking like Scott and JR may go head to head for Chandler Enterprises. Also, I kind of like my idea of bringing back Tim Dillon to be a love interest for Kendall. I think it would open up story for Erica, Kendall, Amanda, and Jake. As for Ryan, maybe they should take the character back to the way he was when he first came on. He was a lovable scoundrel.
I think if they are going to even think about pairing up Greenlee and Scott, they should recast him with Daniel Cosgrove, because I could not see Greenlee falling for the current version of Scott. I'm all for Tim Dillon making a return to Pine Valley. I think that's what AMC needs to do, is bring some more history to the show and I think that could happen with Tim, and pairing him with Kendall wouldn't necessarily be a bad idea....Lord knows Erica wouldn't be too thrilled with the notion of Natalie's son dating her daughter. As far as Ryan is concerned, I still like the idea of something traumatic happening to him, and him coming to with a completely different persona....Just like Jason on GH. This way they could start from scratch with the character, and give the audience something different.
Exactly, bring some more history to the show but with fresh faces. I think that is what they are trying to do with Damon by making him Hillary Wilson's son.
I just have one question for the writers of AMC......Why in the world do the Chandler children have to live with Adam? Shouldn't they have their own houses? I mean, JR has a wife and a kid....why does he want to live under the same roof as his father anyway? And Colby should be out on her own too. They are always complaining how Adam is always trying to control their lives, but they refuse to leave his house. So stupid!!!
I still like the idea of Zach and Kendall returning to Pine Valley together, or Zach joining up with Kendall after she returns in the summer. I'm really glad to see that all that the new headwriters would say about Kendall is that she and AM are returning to the show by late summer, and that still gives ABC time to work out a new contract with TK. The show is devoid of romance right now, and reading SOW's scoops for the next few months doesn't convince me otherwise. I'd happily return to AMC if Zendall are on. Otherwise, there's nothing to make me tune in, other than Zen's brief return in April.AMC has a chance to do something new with Zendall. Ryan has a new job at the casino. Amanda has a new job as a Fusion model. Looking at the ABC medianet pictures, Krystal is going to work for Jackson. Everyone is changing jobs all of a sudden. Great--now let's see Zach have a new corporate job, and we can find out that he's been a spy working for an ISA/WFB type agency. Kendall can either return to Fusion or start a new company in competition with Fusion. There's so much open right now. But AMC needs to recapture Love in the Afternoon, and bringing Zach and Kendall back together is a great way to do that.

Probably trying to save money...Don't have to build so many sets......They're going cheap...... .????
They could have used the set from the casino to give Colby and JR their own respective homes. That way we wouldn't have to look at the horrible Ryan Lavery steal Zach's casino....or hell, since Adam is leaving, they could have broken that up to create a trendy apartement for the Chandler kids. It's funny how Erica gets new condos and homes every couple of years, but everyone else floats around without a home
The new HWs are inheriting some really bad Nielsen ratings that even Chuck Pratt, awful, horrific writer that he was, didn't have. I wonder how much time AMC will have to turn things around before ABC gets pretty tired of waiting? I'm sure they'll have a grace period, but I remember seeing Barbara Esensten at the Fan Club Lunch a few years ago say that her job was to raise ratings, and she didn't quite last 12 months when it was clear she and her writing partner were failing at that task. Things are not good at ABC Daytime.
And I don't think the new writers should be given too much rope. I read their interviews that they gave, and they seem happy with the direction of the show. For me, that's not a good sign. AMC is in the worst shape, of all the ABC soaps. OLTL & GH have their problems, but in general when you read the posts that the fans make, they aren't completed disgusted with the shows as a whole. There may be certain stories that drive them crazy, but all and all, they are still intrigued enough to watch. AMC, on the other hand, can't say the same thing. Every single post is a negative one, in which the fans are saying they are turning the channel. That is not a good thing for the show. I, myself, have been skipping episodes throughout the week, because I am just too disgusted to watch. Back in the mid-to late 90's, you couldn't force me to miss an episode of AMC....this is not the case. With each passing month, and now each passing year, the show keeps getting worse and worse. The problem is growing more and more each day....The longer the writers, producers and network avoid the current situation, the harder it will be to fix the show and turn it around in the right direction. I have often said that AMC should have done an instant re-write and re-shoot the moment they fired Charles Pratt. I'm sure it's not the most cost effective solution, but we wouldn't have been subjected to months of bad writing....causing the fans to become so frustrated that most of them have stopped watching. And even if they couldn't do an instant fix, the moment his stories were wrapped up, they could have done a 180 and gone in a completely different direction. None of the fans would have been upset to turn on the tv and find that stories had changed drastically over night. As a matter of fact, it should have been like night and day, when the Lorraine took over, but from where I sit, I still feel like I'm watching Pratt's stories.I have been watching all my children for so many years, and it makes me completely sick to my stomach to watch this current disaster.Annie should be killed off, or throw her in jail and backburn her for a while. Time for her to pay for her many crimes.Marissa needs to go away...her Polyanna act has worn too thin and she serves no purpose on the show.Colby should be recast with Ambyr Childress..she was a much more convincing Chandler than the current.Fake Liza needs to go away....some times it just doesn't work if you don't have the original...if you couldn't get Marcy Walker, you should have thought about giving the role to Beth Ehlers...she had better chemistry with Tad.Give Angie & Jessie a good story to work with....what's the point of bringing back such great veterans and not using them more effectively on the canvas.Erica needs to grow up...stop having these childish Junior High fights with Greenlee...she's much more classier than this. She's not a character from Dynasty and this is not the 80's.Greenlee needs to face some consequences for all the things that she's done. Time for her to grow up and quit acting like a brat, as well. After so many years, a character should have some kind of growth...that's what makes the audience root for them.Ryan should just go away...his handsome looks have taken him as far as they can go....time for him to jump on that motorcycle and drive off into the sunset.Find a way to bring TK back to join Kendall...Why in the world would you want to lose your most popular super couple of the show. You have nothing else going for you....you should be moving heaven and earth to try and convince TK to stay. If Susan Lucci and Debbi Morgan can arrange for a bi-coastal schedule...make it happen for TK.Don't hook Madison up with Ryan...the woman has been through enough...does she really have to be subjected to this arrogant jerk.Give Jackson a true love...Erica is going to keep playing with this mans heart....he has been chasing her far too long...it's time for him to fall in love and show Erica what she could have had with him.Bring Tad's one true love back....We don't want to see Dixie as a ghost!! Do you understand that? Revive the Cortdlands...it's been far too long since this family has been on the canvas.Bring in some more veterans....AMC can't be ran with this cast of youngsters and newbies...example: Randi, Natalia, JR, Colby, Scott, Marissa, Damon. They are way too many young "filler" characters and not enough strong veterans to keep this show on track. And if you're going to try and build the character of JR up, with the retirement of David Canary....bring back "Original Babe." I hate the character of Marissa...talk about a weak, wimpy character who has never really found her footing on the show. Babe and JR were always so much fun to watch...JR lost a lot of his spark, In my opinion, when Babe left. And one of my last suggestions....and this is just me...but change the damn opening sequence for the show. I hate the current theme. I think they should go back and use the theme from the 70's...they could always jazz it up a bit...you know speed it up a bit and add a little percussion...but I have always loved that theme, and I hate the current one. These are just my personal opinions, but I think they could be a step in the right direction.
Regardless of the turn around Lorraine Broderick has said to have achieved, the show still has a major problem that new writers are not going to be able to fix....with the exception of Jesse, Angie, Erica and Tad, the show doesn't have a character worth writing for much less wasting an hour a day watching. The show isn't going to fly with Ryan, Greenlee David and Annie and JR and Borissa in the forefront. Vincent Irizarry, though I love David, and Vincent , the character is not a leading man. He is a strong, strong supporting character and should be left there.
I'm not sure that there's any one thing that can fix AMC and bring fans back, but I'll speak from my own experience: As of Jan. 6, I started watching DOOL again after not watching it for two decades. I stopped watching AMC because it wasn't good and bored me, and I was too experienced a viewer to believe "Rediscover AMC", no matter how many commercials ABC ran and how many interviews SOD/SOW did with Sue Johnson, Susan Lucci, VI, Cameron Mathison and Rebecca Budig. I'm not a Nielsen viewer, but I'm pretty sure I'm not alone in jumping to the competition because DOOL's viewership is higher in 2010 than it was in 2009 and they were just picked up for another year. There are clunkers in DOOL's storylines, no doubt about it, and I'm not overly impressed with the acting, but it's still better than AMC on any given day.I'd come back to AMC if TK returned. It's that simple. I know friends who'd return if Cady McClain played an alive Dixie. Instead of bringing on new characters to fall for Erica or challenge the Chandlers (IMO, they have plenty of conflict among their own merry group of Marissa, JR, Annie and Scott), bring back the actors with Emmy wins and Emmy noms who can carry story and already have a fanbase. Hiring a new actress to play Hillary after 25 years is not the same. There are solutions here if ABC genuinely wants Daytime to survive, and at this point, I'm not sure where its loyalties lie. AMC has lost Eden Riegel to the competition and there went an actress with a huge fanbase to the #1 soap in Daytime. ABC can't afford to be this foolish. I took heart when I saw that the most the new HWs would say about Kendall is that she'll be back in late summer. Great, now ABC has to make sure that she returns with her best leading man, and that's Thorsten Kaye. MEK has only been mentioned in upcoming spoilers as being Damon's dad and dealing with that, and Damon's growing relationship with Colby. Great, now ABC has to bring back Cady so that fans can stop rejecting every pairing Tad is in because it pales in comparison. I don't know that any suggestion I'm making will save AMC, but it may give it some longevity. DOOL has managed to do some things right, and continuing to show couples in love (Bo/Carly, Bo/Hope, Rafe/Sami, Brady/Arianna, Melanie/Phillip, Chloe/Daniel) is a start. That's why IMO AMC needs to hurry and bring back the actors who work best with AM and MEK and show us the rest of the canvas, too, but not rely on Jamanda, Greenlee in the center of a Ryan/David triangle, or the twisted story of the Chandlers and their shifting loyalties.JMO
Say it again, Sister. I stopped watching AMC full time when Dixie was needlessly killed off. I can't get passed that. It was senseless and unnecessary. I'd watch full time if she came back because I want to see how her return would impact JR and Tad and especially David. It is as simple as that. I will admit I am anticipating Brooke and Adam's reunion. But that is it. I am NOT enjoying Erica/Greenlee, Ryan, Tad/Liza/Krystal and Annie/JR. Hopefully, things will pick up soon. I am tired of fast forwarding through almost every scene on this show.
What do you mean, almost every scene? I have just been getting so mad that I change the channel all together. Soap operas are a story driven medium...and at this current time, AMC has nothing to offer in the story departmet. IT IS SO DAMN BORING!!! Look at GH, OLTL and one that's become my favorite...Y&R. They have so many stories going at the same time, and that's a wonderful thing, because that's how you keep your fans watching.Watching to see who gets controlling interest of Fusion, between Erica & Greenlee....or watching the Chandlers try to back Annie against the wall for the ump-teenth time....or watching this unbelievable dribble of Damon being Tad's son hardly constitutes as good storytelling. Like I said before...AMC needs more veterans to carry this show. They CANNOT keep turning to JR, Annie, Scott, Colby, Marissa, Amanda or even Jake IMO to carry this show. I'm not really feeling the whole Jake/Amanda love thing. To me it seems so forced....like the writers are just throwing scenes around with them kissing here and there, and that's supposed to appease the fans in the romance department that we want on the show. They need more conflict and more intimate moments....and no, that doesn't mean showing them rolling around in the bed for 2 minutes.....make us see why it is these two love each other so much. Give them intimate dialogue.Bring BACK VETERANS:How simple would it be to give us Dixie back? That in itself would put a huge smile on my face.It would be nice to see Nina on the canvas. Or Petey. Wouldn't hurt to bring back Ross...he is related to the Chandlers and the Cordtlands.Bring back Amanda's brother, Tim. She needs some more family on the show. It would also be nice if they could bring back Kate Collins. She could be a missing triplet of Janet's & Natalie's that we didn't know about. Because let's face it, Erica needs someone to play with, and that someone shouldn't be Greenlee. We miss seeing Natalie vs. Erica...but since Natalie is dead, they could at least bring back another sister that would clash with Erica.Bring back Yvonne...the one woman that came between Angie & Jessie...They need something interesting and someone from the past to give them some interesting s/lAMC shot themselves in the foot when they lost one of the best Chandlers in the clan....They should have fought tooth and nail to keep Skye on the AMC canvas. Now she belongs to the GH team...and it's a shame because she was fabulous on AMC, and they could use a strong veteran like Robin Christopher to revive the Chandler clan. What I'm saying is, BRING BACK THE VETERANS!!!AMC cannot last with this young cast of actors.
I couldn't agree more.
Bringing back Dixie alone would probably do this show a world of good, but I totally agree with you. I always thought they should bring back Tim Dillon. There was alot of story derived from his conception and birth. It affected Erica and Jeremy. And his very existence thrust Natalie into the storyline where she spied on Palmer for Adam, slept with Ross, married Palmer, etc because she wanted to be able to provide for him. That was years of storyline. Why not bring him back? He could be a love interest for Kendall, give Amanda more family, and drive story. Ross' return would open story for the Courtlandts and Chandlers. He and JR are the biological links for both families since Ross and Dixie are cousins. If they brought back Dixie, that could be a relationship that could be explored. There are so many ways story could go. Pete could come back and jumpstart the Courtlandt/Chandler rivalry. Tim could seek revenge on the the two families for the way they treated Nat. He could do the same with Erica which would lead to tension between him and Kendall. Damn, I wished I was the headwriter. Hopefully they will hear us and do what must be done to save our show. Because don't get it twisted, AMC was MY show for years and was MUST SEE TV and now it is CAN"T SEE TV, and I am devastated by that.
Even though I am still thoroughly disgusted with the direction of this show, I must say, I was very happy to see Greenlee go off a little bit on Ryan...Telling him that he still thinks he has to be everyone's white knight. That is so true of this character. I think that's what I like least about Ryan, is that he thinks he has to save everyone....like he knows what's best. I really wish someone would walk up and stab Ryan, and put us all out of his misery.
I don't see him as a white knight. He comes bossing his way in, takes control then dumps the person. He's just a jerk.I just read Kendall (AM) is back at AMC full time the end of summer. I already see Kendall, Greenlee, Ryan crap coming. I am not interested at all if thats what the writers plan.
They need to give her something to do. I kind of liked some of the things they said in their interview, except one: They need to put Jack and Erica together and leave them alone. I do wished they would bring back Dixie, though. That is at the top of my wish list.
I may be in the minority, but although I am not very happy with AMC, I kind of find myself watching a little more of it everyday. Now, don't get me wrong, my ff finger is still trigger happy, but I am really loving Adam/Brooke, and I hate to say it, but I am intrigued with JR/Annie. She is making him interesting again, because whenever he and Marissa are on screen, it is snoozeville for me.
I really think the writers should explore Annie & JR. They are much more interesting to watch than JR & Marissa. They should really consider dumping the Marissa character. She offers absolutely nothing of value to the show. And don't feel too bad, because I've been watching a little more each day, myself. I think it will be a lot better, once Kendall makes her comeback. All AMC has to do for me is show less of Ryan, and I'll be extremely happy.
You know, I don't like the idea of them dumping Marissa. Only because she gives David a daughter. I would like for them to give her a personality transplant though. She is boring as all get out. I think they need to start exploring her character a lot more and I feel like with JR falling for Annie, she may just develop a little of her daddy's nasty streak. Come to think of it, Randi is boring to me also. And she should be interesting because she is so flawed. (Being an ex-prostitute does that to you, ya know)
I don't know....Marissa has been with the show for almost a year now, and she still hasn't become that relevant with the audience. They should have tried to develop a personality for this character a long time ago...because even though she's only been on a year, it feels like longer, and not in a good way. She's just as boring as the first day that she arrived on the scene. I think AMC should definitely capitalize on the JR/Annie duo...and it would help if Marissa sharpened her claws a bit. That might be fun to watch. But she will definitely have to develop a backbone. But I also think that they should approach the JR/Annie storyline in a smart way. I think JR should go into it thinking he will trick Annie into betraying his father, but then realize that he has actual feelings for her...that would be the best way to approach this storyline, because the whole "Chandler kids gang up on Annie" story is getting truly old.I have also thought that the character of Randi was not being utilized. I mean they have so much to work with on this character and they aren't doing anything with her. The whole "Randi jealous of Madison" storyline is so Junior High and stupid. I don't think they should have ever killed Madison's husband, in the first place. It would have been more interesting to approach it in the manor of Randi & Henry actually have being in love with each other in the past, but he eventuall married Madison and always carried a torch for Randi. They could have secretly continued their affair, once they ran into each other again in Pine Valley....and it could have went from there. That would have been much more interesting to watch, then to have Jessie turn into a corrupt cop and covering up what happened to Henry...that was stupid. They could always bring in some guy from Randi's past, and make her a lot more interesting.
I really think they need a new actress. This one is dull as dishwater.
Today was one of the best episodes of AMC that's aired in months. Even though I'm not the biggest Kendall fan, I must say, it was nice to see her back on the scene....and I love watching her and Greenlee together.I hope and pray AMC takes the JR & Annie story and run with it. I really would like to see JR actually start to fall for Annie. For the first time, in a long time, Annie actually has chemistry with someone on screen. Don't ruin this AMC. This would be the perfect way to get rid of Marissa. And I always love to watch a little courtroom drama. Although, I must say, I was a little confused as to why the prosecution seemed to be badgering Adam when he was on the witness stand.Anyway....keep going in this direction AMC, and you might be able to turn this show around.
