I guess today we were supposed to be seeing the beginning of David's evolving into a human being. I loved that he said his hatred of all the people who lined up against him made him do all the terrible things he's done. It's not my fault, I can't help myself. GAG ME!!!! Does Pratt really think he's going to be able to pull this off? That would be like trying to convince us that Satan was suddenly born again.
Dr David Devil good.?????? WHAT??? Hell must be cooling down.
I loved it today when Scott punched David and knocked him out cold, wish I could have gotten in a few myself.
I'm sick of David! Everytime he comes back to the show his only agenda is to hurt as many people as possible and he never pays for it. It's become same old same old. He's a good actor, but predictable. The writers should at least make him pay for some crimes he's committed.
AAAAAAAAAMMMMEEENNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ditto.
In one of the other threads, posters are condemning Amanda and Jake for the cruelty of keeping David from his son. I can't find that thread to respond, but I'll do it here. After today's show, can anyone really believe that David wants that child out of love?? He wants to OWN the child, he wants to CONTROL Amanda and he wants to HURT Jake. Did you see the evilly satisfied look on his face when he forced Amanda to turn over her wedding band? What possible harm could it have done to let her wear that ring? All he wants is to make everyone know that HE'S IN CONTROL. I hate his character so much. I was so pleased that Jake and Amanda hooked up today, but I was hoping he would give her his ring so she could carry it in her pocket and keep it with her. The only reason I don't want Jake to kill the b@stard is that I don't want Jake to go to jail.

I don't know whether or not to condemn Jake and Amanda, I think both of them are morons for the scheme they hatched and aren't fit to raise a caged hamster, neither is David. This is all Pratt's incompetent writing.David has lost two children, Babe and Leora, (although my sympathy was greater with Leora's death than Babe's) this could have been a far better sl if he had relied on that history to show David's joy at being given another chance at fatherhood regardless of who the the mother was married to. I firmly believe the only way Pratt can keep the interest in Jake and Amanda is to keep David in the middle to provide the angst. Jake and Amanda are a fluff couple with no real depth who appeal more to the 14 year age group. Separately, they are one dimensional . Really, what else do they offer if David wasn't in the middle of this relationship? They are no Zach and Kendall who separately could carry a storyline because of the rich history both characters have behind them. If he's trying to make them as popular as Zach and Kendall he's got a long way to go. Right now they are a low rent imitation without David. Even the exchange of rings was a poor man's imitation of the ring exchange between Zach and Kendall. Amanda and Jake's schemes are juvnenile and moronic. I cannot feel their angst because I think they deserve what they are getting. I hate it's at the expense of the wonderful Vincent Irrizarry who deserves a storyline far better than being turned into the Ryan Lavery in Jake and Amanda's midst.I may not like what David is doing, but without his presence in their storyline, they have none, because Pratt in his infinite no talent way did not rely on what made Jake and Amanda unique in the first place and that's their quirkiness and lightheartedness.
I could not agree with you more. David is being used to give Jake and Amanda a storyline.bceause outside of some initial cuteness, there is no substance to them. Pratt does not do substance.I still condemn Jake and Amanda for what they did..no matter WHAT David has done. Two wrongs do not make a right..and while I don't like David's behavior, I don't blame him for being furious and wanting revenge. I mean for god's sake Jake and Amanda threw the baby's ashes in his face. NO one deserves that..even David. And yes..Vincent deserves better...
I have a hard time believing that in all of Pine Valley's legal system, there's not a judge who can't be bought either by Adam or David. Where I live, first of all, Amanda would take David to court to win joint custody. A good lawyer would have her out of Wildwind and she and Trevor would be living at home waiting for the custody hearing. And this ridiculous idea of David blackmailing Amanda to have another child to win her freedom is too sickening for words. God, where's Jackson when we need him?? Obviously, Liza isn't competent enough to do the job. Everyone's railing about Annie not having to pay for all the terrible things she's done. Well, David is every bit as bad. OK, he hasn't murdered anyone (that we know of) but his evil is just too much.

And here IMO is the problem with Pratt in a nutshell. He drags characters all over the place from one spectrum to the next without any real motivation or character consideration..usually as plot points..and then when he changes course midstream, he expects everyone to follow along willingly.I dunno. I always liked David - the bad guy you loved to hate...but he always had a heart. Pratt's version of David became almost cartoonish...and went to far being evil. I still don't get why David was allowed to drug Krystal and plot to get JR drinking again but Krystal excused him for it in like two seconds. Why? No one has any reason for doing anything...and no one holds anyone accountable for their actions unless it fits into the plot of the day.I'm sorry, Pratt is just a terrible writer for soaps. Plot point after plot point and characters acting without any depth or consistency. It's really difficult to become emotionally involved in any of it..and without emotional involvement, you lose your audience. A lot of this all seems extremely superficial to me.
