NASHVILLE SPECIAL AIRING TONIGHT

Deacon Rayna

Tonight's episode of NASHVILLE on ABC crosses the cast of the show with members of the military. "When you are doing a show about country music, it only makes sense to do something about the USO and country music," Charles Esten (Deacon) tells Digest. "Those two are just tied together so well. The military loves country music, and we love them. We actually got to shoot tonight's episode at Fort Campbell in Kentucky. That was really moving because there are so many families there that are sacrificing so much with their loved ones off fighting for our country. To perform there and sing songs for the military, along with Kellie Pickler, who is a great country artist, and Michelle Obama, who says a few words on the show via videotaped speech about the military and our commitment to those who have fought for our country, it puts things into perspective. Because they have given us so much, their mission may be over, but our mission is to take care of them and respect them."
