Marla, I know they are saving money with less set but why not bring out the Oakdale Court since people living in Lakeview is so unnatural? Just downside the lakeview if money is the issue
Have you heard anything about why PGP took down the #800 after AFA posted to call you could not call to many where calling then later that day the message was taken off then on Monday a new message was added about emailing them now at email@example.com.This can not be true:(According to my sources at the American Family Association, 55% of the call in poll was against continuing the Luke and Noah storyline. There will be no boycotts. As The World Turns can't really afford to have a boycott against it. They are not going to continue the storyline. I don't know how they will end it, but I will find out.)Have you heard or know any thing about how it turned out.
P&G's changes to their comment line have to do with the sheer volume of feedback they receive. I'm sure they are just trying to streamline the viewer feedback process so that everyone can make their opinions known in the most expedient and practical fashion. Also, as far as I know, the results of the poll have absolutely no bearing on the continuation of Noah and Luke's story and PGP has no intention of stopping the storyline.
Speaking of Luke and Noah, I just wanted to say I really liked and found the new article in the new SOW very interesting. And also Thank You Mala and SOW for still following up on different things that are going on in that storyline.
Mala do you have any idea on if they are working on a new opening for ATWT? They obviously can't use the one they have now with so many of the actors in it being gone from the show. So will there be another opening coming or are they just sticking with the logo?
Many thanks, vanfan125, for pointing this out. I just went and picked up a copy of the latest SOW, and found the behind-the-scenes details very interesting! For those Luke and Noah fans that haven't seen it, I think this is a must read. I really want to comment on that piece, but will refrain as I don't want to spoil it. I will say that the first part of the piece, about the past, was something many people had speculated on, and the 2nd part of the piece, about the future - if true, it's a super powerful statement of support of this SL, that is, at least to me.I guess I will just wait until next week to bring it up - or, well, when the time is right!
Hi Mala,I just read the daily spoilers for next week and once again there is only one day with Luke and Noah. Why is there no balance on this show? I understand that we will see some stories more than others, but I think this is the third week in a row with only one Nuke-day. Before that it was just two days. We go from one plotpoint to another. It's whiplash-writing and it really hurts this storyline. I want more storyline-balance. Oh, and where was Luke when Lily returned? It's like they sometimes forget that he (and his brother Aaron too) is a Snyder.
I'll poke into whether or not they're doing a new opening! As for character and storyline balance... sorry, MarkDutchViewer, but that's pretty much a universal problem on soaps, not unique to Luke and Noah.
I know that, Mala. But this once a week storyline is just ridiculous. I don't expect to see Luke and Noah 4 or 5 times a week (like Katie/Carly), but why not 2 or 3 episodes? Don't TBTB get that the show would be better if there was a LITTLE more balance? I think there was more balance during the writer's strike and I enjoyed the show a lot more than I do right now.
I'm with Mark on this.. ATWT ratings were 2.3 toi 2.5 with the writer strike going because of it was balance. now it starting to go down. i would think the TPTB would see that what the veiwers want then this 4 or 5 day of Carly and Katie. hell anytim Katie is on i don't want to watch.
I'm fairly certain Carly is still a big draw to the show and many people do still enjoy Katie. Every soap always has the four cast members that are on 3-4 days of the broadcast week while everyone else is the B and C plot for that week. And ATWT has a fair amount of balance considering their cast size. They work in their teens, their vets, their 20-somethings, etc.I know Nuke fans are frustrated by the 1-2 days of air time, but there's a lot of stuff coming up for them.As for the ratings during the strike, I'm sure there were a lot of mitigating factors.
Thanks Mala As for balance, I agree that and totally believe that Carly and Katie will be on 4-5 days a week, I don't think that is ever going to change and has been like that for years now, but the one thing that has not been going on for years is the fact that ATWT has gone down to 2 maybe on a good day 3 stories during a show, when in the past it would be 5-6 stories a day. And when you have Carly and Katie's stories on pretty much all 5 days that leaves maybe 1 or sometimes zero other stories for that day, and leaves pretty much every other story on the show with one day a week, where in the past they could get away with having certain characters on everyday, and still have other stories be on 3 days a week, because of more stories per day. Plus the fact that characters are now always in bubbles and hardly interact with anyone, other than there own little storyline bubble. Just using Luke for an example, and I know there are many others, but still he is related to nearly half the town, but never has scenes with any of them hardly.
LOL, we had our second Luke episode today. Too bad it was just one little scene at the end.
Shockingly just as I am saying Luke never talks to his family, they add in a scene at the end of today's show with him talking to Holden
He talked to Lucinda a few days ago, which I loved! But I do have to wonder just how many gifts she has to bring by the farm for the girls. Those are some SPOILED grandkids. LOL.
Yeah... and nothing for Luke! Boo! LOL
Van and Elizabeth are great in scenes together. One of my favorite ATWT scenes ever is when Luke goes to visit Lucinda at her house not long after his coming out.
Oh I remember that, Mark. I think they have great chemistry as actors and a great relationship as characters.

Quote:As for balance, I agree that and totally believe that Carly and Katie will be on 4-5 days a week, I don't think that is ever going to change and has been like that for years now,Actually Carly has been averaging 3 days a week this year. She has had a few weeks that are 4 days but I don't think any time has she been on 5 days a week this year. Last week she was only on 2 days and the same again this week as she isn't in daily spoilers for the rest of the week. And she is a very popular character that does bring in a lot of viewers. She's basically one of the vets at this point. There are plenty of characters that don't get the airtime they should. What about Henry? He is a huge fan favorite but yet we rarely see him. I do agree there should be much better balance but it is hardly only Luke and Noah that are suffering from that.
I agree. But I never said it was just a Nuke problem. It's hard to be a Nuke fan sometimes, but I can't imagine how Henry/Vienna fans must feel.
Putting aside my journalistic objectivity for a second... Henry/Vienna fan here! :::waving::: And, yeah, I can pretty much say I'm bummed that they're not on much. And Aaron...don't get me started on the criminal lack of Aaron. I could go on for DAYS about how frustrating it is that half the women in Oakdale aren't chasing him.
they are wasting Aaron big time. i love that henry and Vienna had a story but now they just in to prop Katie. they were better then that to me.
Hi Mala,I really like coming in to your forum and reading your answers to questions. This is my first post ever here so I hope I do it right.I'm not asking you to give away any secrets, but are you allowed to say whether or not Henry and Vienna, and Luke and Noah, will have any good stories coming up for the summer months?
Mala, Do you know if ATWT has any plans with Dallas and/or Bonnie? When we see Dallas he's just the cop and we haven't seen Bonnie for a while (I think the last time was when she got drunk at Yo's with Brad and Katie). I like Bonnie when she's not just the lawyer.
Mala, I would like to send you and the rest of the staff at SOW my sincere gratitude for the amazing work you fine folks have done in covering the Luke/Noah/Ameera storyline over the past 3 issues! Your write-ups on Ameera are dead on, and the behind the scenes information regarding how the characters of Luke and Noah are now going to be treated has been awesome to read for ANY fan of the couple. I have no idea how you guys got this behind-the-scenes info, but we're all glad you did, and can't thank you enough for filling in us fans on the situation.I would love to know what has been going on behind the scenes since the start of this storyline (perhaps that might be coming up in the next issue? hehe), but I would guess that's a story that will never be told.
Sorry I've been AWOL for a few days. Things have gotten a little crazy at work. Y'all know how it goes!At any rate, MarkDutchViewer, we will be seeing Bonnie again soon. She and Henry will share scenes together.NoahFan - You're very welcome. I'm glad you have enjoyed the Luke/Noah/Ameera coverage.
Thanks Mala. I'll look forward to it. I just hope they will give Bonnie a storyline (or let her really be part of one as a supporting character).

Mala When can we expect to see some air time with jack and carly that doesn't distroy them any more than the writers already are..
I really enjoyed three days of Luke and Noah. And it's fantastic to see them treated like other couples. But I just saw the daily spoilers for next week and it seems like we're back to one day: Thursday. That's just weird. They're in New York since yesterday and we won't see them for three episodes? But I sort of have a theory about this weird gap between episodes. Soon the three Inturn finalists are revealed and I have a feeling that they will be involved in the Nuke/Ameera story. It always seems like it's a story with a lot of action (in 2006 it was the Slasher story and last year it was JJ's kidnapping). But they can't show the inturns on the show before the episode where the last one is sent home (I believe that episode will be online on tuesday). You think this is a possible reason for the weird pace in Nuke's story this week, Mala?
You really can't tell much from the daily spoilers. Carly was only listed for one day in this weeks spoilers, yet she ended up being on for 3 days. Part of the problem with the Nuke/Ameera story pacing could be the availability of Daniel Hugh Kelly. Since he isn't on contract, if he was working on something else, they would have to work around his schedule. That type of thing has affected stories in the past. And I agree it is very possible the InTurns will be part of the story, which would mean they need to stretch the action out over 3 weeks.
Yes, Carly was only listed for one day, but since she's part of the Holden/Lily/Jack/Carly story, you can expect to see her on the days where those characters are mentioned. Just like Luke is not listed at all for next week, but you know you will see him on the day that Ameera and Noah are mentioned...
The InTurn season has definitely impacted Nuke, since the three finalists are involved in the whole NY storyline. But there's a lot of good Noah/Luke stuff coming up in the next few months... like Cyndi Lauper! Trust me, it's going to be pretty neat and I'm glad to see Noah and Luke taking the push-pull roller coaster ride of a normal soap couple.
I'm really excited about Cyndi Lauper! I just love it that she will dedicate "True Colors" to Luke. I really love that song!
I got goosebumps watching her sing it!
Ok when is Cyndi Lauper going to be ATWT? I must have missed that article.
July 3rd.Oh, and Mala... I love it too that Nuke is becoming a more normal soap couple. But what I don't like is that some people think Noah is not gay, because he cares about Ameera. I guess a gay guy can't care for a female... Are they watching the same show?
which will air July 3PGP Classic Soapshttp://pgpclassicsoaps.blogspot.com/2008/05/atwt-just-wants-to-have-fun-cyndi.html#linksCyndi Lauper Visits OakdaleEW

We actually have the Cyndi Lauper news on our home page, too. I guess none of you read it. MarkDutchViewer - LOL! Are gay guys supposed to think all women are icky or something? I guess someone ought to let my gay guy friends know they should kick me to the curb!
LOL, Mala! BTW, I did read it on the main page (but I read it first on the ATWT site).
Mala, thanks for the news about Luke and Noah and the future. I know you can't tell us what the storyline is, but it's exciting to know they won't be headed to the backburner once Ameera leaves (as I'm sure some fans feared would happen)... and that there's something good in the works for them.

That's what bothers viewers, me being one of them.
Quote:I got goosebumps watching her sing it! I love Cyndi and 'True Colors' is one of my favorite songs. I know it's going to hit me seeing her sing it in honor of Luke!
I'm not saying that it doesn't bother me... but to say that he isn't gay just because he cares about her? What should he do? Let his father take her an turn her into one of his other victims?
Mala,In a segment of Entertainment Tonight about Cyndi Lauper we saw a small glimpse of a scene where Luke asked Noah when he decided to join the army. I don't think this means that Noah will leave the show but some people do and are worried. Have you heard anything about this?
I can understand that people are concerned that Jake might be leaving because of the 'spoiler' from that ET interview, but I would think that Mala's earlier post about the new storyline, not to mention Jake's own statements about the guys' new story playing out over the next several months would indicate that Jake isn't leaving. He wouldn't be playing out a storyline if he wasn't there, I'd think. Unless there's something there I'm missing.
Mala is the show getting nervous about what is happening with the ratings? While I know a lot like to blame it on the fall of Y&R, that still doesn't explain the fall from 3rd place to a tie for 6th. B&B has been able to hold their 2nd place ao I don't think it can be blamed on Y&R. I notice kind of a general lethargy on most boards about the stories. There doesn't seem to be any story that is really exciting the fans and they seem to just be bored. Do TPTB realize that the stories just aren't working? I know they think those of us on the internet are insignificant, but obviously from the ratings, we aren't the only ones bored. Any chance they are making some changes to make things more interesting?
Ah ha. So THAT's what the ET people were filming. It was kind of funny, because the rest of us were all sitting outside bemoaning being "chopped liver." "Oh, we're not special like ET...wahhhhhh." Just kidding! I felt plenty special. As far as I know, Jake Silbermann is not going anywhere. As for storylines getting more interesting... I know we will see a lot more integration, stories intersecting, but whether or not it will pick up the pace or be more palatable is up to viewers! I can't speak to what people with Nielsen boxes will like!
Mala, I didn't think for a minute that Jake was leaving, but thanks for reassuring worried Luke/Noah fans! It's good to hear that the stories will be integrated and intersecting. That is SUCH good news. One thing about the strike is that the show did that and it make things better. How are we to take things seriously when Luke is out of town chasing after the man who tried to murder him and Holden and Lily don't even mention it?
